Ring Of Honor: Death Before Dishonor

"You cannot kill what you did not create"

Following the disastrous handling of the Ring Of Honor brand by Tony Khan, the brand was liquidated in early 2024, due to AEW entering financial constraints. A joint collation of owners came together to purchase the brand and all company assets. Several talent contracts were also purchased but that information wasn't publicly made available. The new ROH ownership coalition consists of Cary Silkin, Todd Sinclair and Mike Cuban as a silent investor.

It was revealed that Ring Of Honor would make its blockbuster return to action with Supercard of Honor XVIII! It was announced that all Championships would be defended on the huge return show. It was promised via several key ROH Staff on their social media channels, that the event would be a return to form for the company.

The announcements continued to roll in.. it was announced via ROH.com and all social media channels, that ROH would return with a weekly show, that would be 1 hour in length and air exclusively on YouTube, every Thursday at 8pm EST.

In addition to the weekly flagship show. a second show that will feature the future of ROH will air on HonorClub called Future of Honor. it was also revealed that the show would feature a brand-new Future of Honor Championship. More details will be revealed soon.

The ROH commentary teams were announced via the company's official social media channels.

ROH Weekly TV- Kevin Kelly, Stewart Fulton and Nigel Mcguiness
Future Of Honor- Caprice Coleman, Veda Scott and Mark Pickering
IPPV- A random combination will be used for ippv events.

The video package ends with Silkin thanking everyone for joining them for the full card announcement and he promises everyone that the future of the NEW Ring of Honor, is very bright.

*Creator note. Yeah I know this is pretty unrealistic, but its truly a shame what has happened to ROH and I want to see how far I can take this WHAT IF.
I've been working on this now for about 4 months, so the updates will flow pretty regularly. I truly hope all of you will join me for this wild ride.. This BTB will be presented in a detailed recap format..

Kaun and Moses v Eli Isom and Cheeseburger said:
Kaun and Moses show off in impressive fashion, with CB & Isom could hardly get in any offense, during the match. Kaun and Moses completely ignored the crowd, throughout the match, acting like they were above competing on the show. STP send CB and Isom to the arena floor with a loud thud to a thunderous chorus of boos from the crowd.

Moses and Kaun realize that Burger and Isom are struggling to get up outside the ring, and go back to continue their assault. They hit stereo powerbombs onto their opponents onto the arena floor with a sicken thud. Kaun and Moses are proud of their destruction and throw their opponents into the ring.

Kaun and Moses signal for the double face buster and the crowd drowns the arena out in boos. Before they can set up their double team finisher, the lights go out and green light veils the arena.. Suddenly Delirious comes running into th ring with a steel chair in hand.. Kaun and Moses are ready for the fight, but they bail as soon as Delirious starts swinging the steel chair around.

Delirious checks on Isom and Burger to make sure they are ok and helps them to their feet and the 3 men stand tall to open the show and kick off a brand new era in Ring of Honor History. Kaun and Moses back up the ramp, yelling that Delirious just fucked up. The crowd is hyped and a loud ROH chant fills the arena as Buger, Isom and Delirious stand tall.
8 minutes 26 seconds

Will Ferrera v Taylor Rust

Rust and Ferrera have a long feeling out process to start the macth, with neither man being able to gain an advantage over the other. The longer the match goes on, its starts to lean in favor of Rust.. as Rust keeps locking in submission holds and toying with Ferrera and breaking them once he reaches the ropes.

Ferrera complains to the referee but the ref explains that he should know the rules of the match, which causes a collective laugh from the crowd. After the laugh spot, Ferrera focuses himself and takes the fight to Rust and finally gains the advantage and is looking like a house on fire. Ferrera begins pumping up the crowd and signals he is going for his shotgun dropkick finisher.. but as he goes for it, Rust was ready and grabs his leg and locks him into a single leg crab. Ferrera tries to fight out of it, but to no avail and is forced to tap as Rust applies more pressure.

While Rust is celebrating his victory, Maria Kanelles makes her way to the ring shocking everyone and whispers something to Rust.. he pauses for moment and then nods his head and leaves with her.
13 minutes 18 seconds
Brawler Milonas, Adam Brooks, Eric Martin and Joe Keys v Mark Haskins, Ken Dixon, Dak Draper and Brian Johnson

This matches explodes right out of the gate with all 8 men trying to show why they are here in the new era of Ring of Honor!

The action packed 8 man tag sets the tone for the entire show and the crowd is loving every second of it. Suddenly out of no where, Team Brooks is able to pick up the win.. When Brooks and Haskins and Haskins were brawling in the ring, but Brooks was able to get the upper hand and was able to score a flash pin on Haskins, to get the win for his team. Haskins quickly rolls out of the ring and cheekly taunts Brooks.. Haskins is irate over losing the way he did and is trying to goad Brooks to come out of the ring and keep the fight going.

The rest of Team Brooks hits the ring and celebrates their victory.

Team Haskins is shown standing on the ramp and very dysfunctional and arguing about the loss with the whole team blaming Haskins. Haskins then tells his team to fuck off and walks off without them. As he approaches the top of stage, he is stopped by Maria Kanelles. She leans in and whispers something to his ear and he smiles and disappears backstage with her.

The in ring celebration hasnt come to an end just yet, as Brawler has begun passing around beers to his team mates.. The foursome then hit the crowd and celebrate with the fans drinking as a very loud ROH chant echoes throughout the venue.

ROH World TV Championship
Kyle Fletcher(c) v Dalton Castle

Fletcher and Castle put on an incredible tv title match. The finish of the match came after Fletcher was in control for the last several minutes and it looked like he was about to put Dalton away and retain the gold.. Fletcher set up Dalton for the Grimstone, but Dalton fought out of it and countered it into the Bang-a-Rang and scored the pinfall to become the new ROH World Television Champion..

Dalton is celebrating his victory but he looks around and still seems a little sad.. suddenly the light go out and when they come back up, The Boys are in the ring and there is a massive group hug.. Dalton starts crying and continues to hug them.. and the crowd chants "Boys ,boys, boys"..

In the ring The Boys have hoisted Dalton onto their shoulders, celebrating his championship victory with him to open the show and set the stage for the new era in ROH.
14 minutes and 9 seconds

ROH Pure Championship
Gauntlet For The Gold

Wheeler Yuta(c) v Tracy Williams v Josh Woods
v Minoru Suzuki v Flip Gordon v PJ Black v
BeerCity Bruiser

*All 7 men start out standing around the ring. A new entrant will enter the match immediately upon an elimination.

Tracy Williams makes short work of Yuta to start the match and before Yuta can even get in any offense, Williams drops him with a huge Death Valley Driver, Williams then starts stalking Yuta as he signals for the Crossface.. Williams goes to set it up but Yuta counters and tries to lock in the Bulldog Choke… But Williams counters out of it and locks in the Crossface forcing Yuta to submit.
3 minutes 9 seconds

Woods and Williams have an all out war trading strikes submission holds and Williams is starting to show some chinks in his armor having to wrestle 2 matches back to back, but after taking Woods down with a huge piledriver, he jumps to his feet and yells that can do this all night! Williams doesn't realize that Woods has recovered and gets laid out with a huge Running Knee strike.. Woods goes for the pinfall and gets a long 2 count, but somehow Williams counters it into the Crossface and forces Woods to tap out to just barely stay alive!
9 minutes 32 seconds

This brings the King of Strong Style into the ring, who immediately takes the fight to Willaims in a hard hitting exchange of kicks and punches, dazing him. Williams tries to hold his own, but his battles with Woods and Yuta have taken more out of him than he wants to admit and he is staggered. Suzuki is able to smell blood in the water and locks Williams in the Sleeper Hold.. Williams tries to fight out it but Suzuki has the hold locked in and forces Williams to submit.
16 minutes 9 seconds

While Willaims is making his way backstage, he is greeted on the ramp by Maria Kanelles, who has a few words with Williams and he decides to go with her.

Before Suzuki even knows whats going on Flip Gordon comes flying off the top rope and takes him out with a dropkick, knocking him to his ass.. Flip takes the fight to Suzuki and pulls him to his feet and qstarts laying into Suzuki with left and right frearm shots.. the crowd starts to chant “you fucked up” as Suzuki is suddenly unphased by the strikes. Suzuki shoves Gordon away and challenges him to strike him and offers him a free hit.. Flip looks around at the crowd and they don't give him any confidence..

Flip decides up take Suzuki up on his offer and once again lays into with forearm strikes but Suzuki is unphased. Suzuki then stops Flip strike and lays in several of his owe and they knock Flip to his ass. Flip jumps to his feet and rushes a laughing Suzuki, who then locks him into a Sleeper hold and wrenches the hold and then quickly turns that into a Gotch Style Piledriver for the pin.
22 minutes 14 seconds

This brings PJ Black into the ring and he and Suzuki have a great back and forth match up. Probably the most event exchange since Woods and Williams earlier in the Gauntlet. Black is actually taking the fight to Suzuki and has gained the upper hand and quickly tries to put him away with his 450 Splash. Just as Black comes flying through the air for the 450 splash, Suzuki rolls out of the way at the last minute causing Black to miss and slam into the ring. Suzuki quickly takes advantage of this and eliminates Black with a Gotch Style Piledriver.
25 minutes 19 seconds

Suzuki doesn't even have time to prepare for his next opponent and final entrant in the Gauntlet as Beer City Bruiser hits the ring and takes Suzuki down with a huge forearm smash to his back. Bruiser and Suzuki go to war but Bruiser is dominating in strong fashion. Suzuki tries everything to get offense in on his much larger opponent but to no avail, as Bruser is throwing him all around the ring like nothing.

Bruiser hits a huge top rope body splash, that looks like it's about to end the match but Suzuki kicks out at just the last moment. The crowd is super behind both men and dueling chants of “Beer and Suzuki” fill the arena.

Bruiser continues to dominate the match and drops Suzuki with a massive running powerslam. Beer then signals for running body splash but Suzuki was ready for it and topples the monster with a dropkick to the knee, dropping the big man off his feet for the first time in the match. Suzuki waists little time and is immediately ontop of Beer and tries but the Sleeper Hold, while beer is on knee. Beer fights out of the hold and tosses Suzuki over the top of him.. but something in Suzuki has changed and he's snapped like a rabbit animal and quickly before Beer can get up, hits a huge Running Knee shot to his jaw, knocking the big man flat on his back.

Suzuki quickly gets back to his feet and pulls Beer to his and lays in a series of intense left and right elbow strikes.. Beer tries to fight off and block the strikes, but no avail and Suzuki keeps laying them in harder and harder, until finally he drops Bruiser with a huge Gotch Style Piledriver.. but Suzuki isnt done yet and he signals for another driver and the arena goes wild.. Suzuki hypes up the crowd and then he drags an almost lifeless beer to his feet and delivers a second Gotch Style Piledriver to Bruiser to win the match and become the new ROH Pure Champion. The entire arena starts singing along to Kaze Ni Nare as Suzuki stand triumphant in the ring and raises Pure Championship high in the air.

Loser Leaves ROH
Vincent v Homicide
The match starts off with a flash and Homicide takes the early advantage and the crowd are super behind him. While Homicide is playing up to the crowd, Vincent has recovered and takes the fight to his opponent.

The offensive flurry from Vincent doesn't last long, as Homicide lays him out with The Cutter.. Homicide starts talking shit to Vincent and the crowd pops like crazy. Homicide then signals for another Cutter and then drops Vincent once again.. but this time Vincent immediately pops up to his feet smiling and immediately floors an unexpecting Homicide with The Shining.. knocking him almost unconscious.

Vincent plays up the crowd and then taunts Homicide to get up.. Homicide is down for the count as Vincent climbs to the top rope and quickly comes flying off with a devastating RedRum to secure the victory.

Vincent drops to his knees laughing next to the motionless Homicide and crowd isnt happy with the outcome and they start throwing garbage into the ring. Vincent just smiles and takes it all in like its the greatest moment of his life.. he then leans in and kisses Homicide on the forehead and loudly says goodbye my friend.. Vincent then rolls out of the ring, leaving the crowd stunned by what they just witnessed.

Agents and Referees hit the ring and try to help Homicide to his feet, but he shoves them away and he falls to his knees. Homicide then slowly pulls himself up to his feet and gets a standing ovation from the crowd.. the crowd then starts a “Thank You Homicide” chant and he looks like he is about to cry, but he doesn't and just raises his arm high in the air and then throws his bandanna in the ring and then leaves with his head held high..

ROH World Tag Team Championship
Ladder WAR

The OGK(c) v Alex Zayne and Blake Christian v Bateman and Dutch v ACH and Fred Yehi v Demonic Flamita and Rey Horus

The match is an all out war from the minute the bell rings and it was hard to follow the action as it was all over the place. Teams fighting in the ring, in the crowd and on the ramp. The match continued to be a clusterfuck with no team gaining the advantage. Everyone was trying to take eachother out to leave themselves an easy path to climb the ladder for the Gold.

The finish of the match came when The OGK covered in blood, thought they were the only team left standing and they set up the ladders and began to ascend reaching for the Gold. Just as they were about to pull the belts down Zayne and Christian come out of now where and then quickly climb the ladders and take the fight to The OGK. The 4 men are fighting it out on top of the ladder, suddenly The OGK that Ach and Yehi are getting back to their feet and getting into the ring.. something in them clicks and as soon as Ach and Yehi hit the ring, the OGK send Zayne and Christian flying off the top of the ladders onto Ach and Yehi.. Soon Taven and Bennett realize they are all thats left standing and the remaining teams are all out for the count. The OGK then pull the belts down to retain the championships in one of the mosy brutal and bloody Ladder Wars in ROH history.

Before The OGK can even take in their championship victory, their celebration is cut short mid hug .. when Waste Managements First Things First hits and the entire crowd goes ballistic.. the crowd is going crazy and The OGK look like they are seeing a ghost.

After a few moments of the theme playing and the OGK being very mad.. Titus and King emerge onto the stage and the crowd gets even louder.. Taven and Bennett yell to fans to shut up, but they are ignored drown out by cheers from the crowd. A very loud ANX chant then takes over and The OGK get even madder as ANX swagger to the ring.

ANX finally hits the ring and offers a handshake to The OGK, but they decline. Taven and Bennett yell at them to get out of their ring and they are ruining their moment!. King and Rhett just smile and laugh it off and look at the tag belts and then signal they will be the next champs.. this causes The OGK to get even more upset and they leave the ring with their tails tucked between their legs. ANX takes in the cheers from the crowd to close out the segment, while a very loud “Welcome Back” chant fills the venue and ANX continues to just take it all in.
27 minutes and 36 seconds

We cut to a video package that plays showcasing women's wrestling throughout the history of ROH. Showing key figures like Sumie Sakai, Mayu Iwatani, Angelina Love and Athena.. then its revealed that ROH will continue to strive forward and showcase the best women's division in all of pro wrestling.

The promo then hypes up that on the debut episode of ROH TV on YT, we will get the reveal of the 2 blocks of 16 fighters each competing in single round elimination matches, with the tournament culminating with a special PPV event LIVE on Honor Club!

We cut back to the arena and Bobby Cruise announces the return of former 2 time Women of Honor Champion, Kelly Klien.

Kelly Klien makes her way to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Some fans are happy to see her back and others are still upset over the way she treated the company when she walked out. Kelly stands in the ring and takes in all the reaction from the crowd.

She starts off by apologizing to all the ROH fans and then to all of ROH management for her behavior. She says she acted without Honor and that isn't how a professional athlete should conduct herself. She talks about the controversy and apologizes again and then says she wants to put all of it behind her and she wants to prove herself worthy and wants to entire the field of 32 for the women's championship tournament coming up.

Kelly says that she wants to enter the tournament and prove herself as a worthy athlete and prove she has changed and she says when its all said and done, she will make history once again and become the new Women Of Honor World Champion!

This brings out The Monstrous Max the Impaler and she rushes to the ring and goes face to face with Klien.. Kelly doesn't back down and goes face to face with Max. Kelly tells her she doesn't want a fight tonight and she was here to make amends for her past actions.. Max stays stone face and then suddenly grabs Klien in a double choke and before Kelly can even react, she is floored with a Double ChokeBomb. Max then just stands over the destroyed body of Kelly and 4yells to end the segment.
8 minutes and 35 seconds.
Special Tag Team Showcase
Shane Taylor and Silas Young v Bandido and RUSH
While the competitors are making their entrances, commentary puts over the 4 men as the future of ROH. The match started out hot with RUSH and Bandido being the dominate team but it didn't last for long as Young and Taylor used Their strength advantage to overpower their opponents.

Sadly, the match never seemed to get going as just when it looked like Young and Taylor were about to take the upperhand, by hitting stereo finishing moves on Bandidio and Rush.. 4 hooded men hit the ring and take out all 4 competitors. Bandido and RUSH try to fight back but they are beaten down by the 4 giant hooded figures, as the numbers are just too much for them.
The 4 men unmask and its revealed to Brody King, 1 Called Manders, Calvin Tankman and Jake Something .. The 4 men stand tall over their downed opponents and commentary puts the 4some over as being dishonorable. The crowd is not happy over the outcome of what has just happened, and they vocally make sure that is the case, by chanting "This is Bullshit".
7 minutes and 52 seconds

A video package plays hyping the history of the ROH championship and taking about the history of the 3 men in the main event match coming up next.. The video package ends with the 3 men saying the same quote... they say that tonight is the most important match of their careers and tonight they must not only prove to fans.. but they must prove to themselves that they are still honorable and worthy enough to call themselves ROH World Champion!

Just as everyone is waiting for the start of the ROH Championship match… What You Know by TI starts blasting through the arena and the fans are in shock and have no idea what is going on.. then suddenly KENTA makes his shocking return to ROH.. as he emerges onto the stage to a standing ovation, so loud that his entrance music is drowned out.

The crowd is going absolutely crazy over the surprise appearance of KENTA and seemingly shocking the entire pro wrestling world. The crowd chants “Welcome Back” as KENTA stands in the ring.. KENTA takes it all in and then after a few moments quiets the crowd down so he can speak.. he starts by saying in plain English, that this is Ring Of Kenta!! and then he begins speaking in Japanese. Commentary then translates what he says for everyone to understand.

KENTA puts over ROH as a place that he had some of his best matches and he wants to help restore the Honor.. after everything that has happened to this amazing company.. KENTA says he isn't just here for a one off appearance or to just try and hype up the crowd and promises that he is here to stay!!

He then says that it's time to get to the point and issues an open challenge to anyone with a history in the ROH, to face him on the debut episode of ROH on YouTube.. the crowd goes crazy over the huge announcement… Kenta then goes to leave the ring but is suddenly stopped in his tracks..

Disposable Teens starts echoing throughout the venue and the crowd is going absolutely insane and begins a very loud “Fallen Angel” chant. Christopher Daniels then appears on the stage and we see a shot of KENTA with a huge smile on his face.

Dueling ROH/Holy Shit chants echo throughout the venue as the crowd is in absolute awe over what they are seeing.

Daniels heads to the ring and takes the mic from KENTA.. Daniels starts to speak but gets choked up by the reaction from the crowd.. he calms himself down and says that he doesn't have alot of these left in the tank.. but he's got an itch and that addiction is bad and it needs to be scratched.

Daniels then talks about his history in ROH and says its a shame that their paths just never crossed.. before.... but its better late than never! He tells KENTA that he will see him in 2 weeks, on the debut of ROH TV.

Daniels and KENTA, then have an intense stare down and trade words with each other and the crowd just watches in silence.... the two men then mutually shake hands to end the segment.
10 minutes and 4 seconds

ROH World Championship
Triple Threat
Jay Lethal v Mark Briscoe(c) v Jonathan Gresham

Before the match can even get underway, the crowd begins a very loud “ROH” chant and all 3 guys just stop and take it all in.. The Foundation members quickly start double teaming Mark and try to take out the champion, so it can be just them fighting it out to become the ROH World Champion, but Mark isn't going down without a fight. The 3 men proceed to them put on all on clinic.

The finish of the match came when Lethal hit the Lethal Combination on Briscoe, but as he gets up Gresham sprays him in the face with Black Ink.. Gresham then locks in the Figure Four on Lethal and just as it looks like he is about to tap. Mark comes flying off the top rope with the Froggy Bow right to the sternum of Gresham.

Mark quickly hops to his feet and yells and starts hyping up the crowd, but Lethal is up and goes for the Lethal Injection, but Mark was ready for it and catches Lethal and drops him with The Mark Out, before Lethal even has a chance to know what's going on.. Mark starts pumping up the crowd even more and they are going wild. and he delivers a second huge Mark Out on Lethal to get the pin and retain the ROH World Championship.
36 minutes and 42 seconds.

Briscoe has retained the championship in a brutal fight and announcers are putting it over as one of the greatest ROH title fights in company history. Mark drops to his knees in the center of the ring and raises the belt high in the air and says this ones for you Jay! Mark then starts celebrating with the crowd.. but his championship celebration is cut short!!

But the championship celebration is cut short as… Chris is AWESOME! echoes through the arena and the crowd goes insane… Chris Hero walks out onto the stage and a sudden hush falls over the arena, because of what they are seeing, but they burst into loudest pop of the night, that damn near blows the roof of the building.

Chris makes his way to the ring and offers a handshake to Mark.. Chris then looks at the ROH title dropped on Mark’s shoulder and pats it.. Mark and Chris trade words with each other.. the two men stand face to face and the crowd goes silent out of respect and the entire venue can hear the two men trade words with no mics needed.

Mark asks Chris If he wants to go.. then let's go. Chris smiles and asks the crowd if they want to see it.. and in unison, the entire venue yells out “Yeah”.. Chris just smiles again and offers Mark a handshake.. and the two men shake hands and the crowd explodes once again with a deafening “This is Awesome” chant..

The show comes to a close with Chris Hero and Mark Briscoe standing face to face in the ring as the crowd is chanting ROH..

I always enjoy seeing a Ring of Honor project and I respect the fact that you open by saying that the premise isn't very realistic. I think you've done such a hard switch to the pre-pandemic era, it would have been interesting to see you build the hype to this special Supercard of Honor event - think of how ALL IN was marketed as a one off event, with only a few matches having any story to them and builds taking across social media without a weekly show to fall back on. Nonetheless, that's me living vicariously through your project.

Just a quick note, your opening post was hard for me to read. It's probably because I'm using dark mode and you've used black text but if you select automatic, it should adjust to whichever light/dark mode you select.

ANNOUNCED MATCHES/PPV HYPE:

I like the main event - Gresham coming back to ROH feels right and realistic, I wouldn't have minded that being a surprise or something left off the initial announcement. Jay Lethal is a talent that feels like he's lost stock under the AEW banner, so seeing him used in ROH as a main event player again feels very appropriate.

I've noticed you sidestepped some elements, like how AEW contracted talents are now under this ROH banner and what's become of Athena. I'm happy to see Fletcher stay in ROH as the Television champion and again booking Dalton beyond the comedy schtick is a move in the right direction for me. I love his character work but he can still be a credible opponent.

Ladder match feels like a nice special attraction to have, some of the teams feel a little random but I think that adds to the charm of this being the first event of a newly independent ROH. Plus, AEW's version of ROH loves throwing random matches in, so actually you're booking it true to form. Side note, love that you've brought back Horus and Flamita, as well as Fred Yehi. The Righteous reunion feels like another thing that could have been worked into a storyline with Bateman being absent for so long but I'm just glad you've put the pieces back together on what was a really strong faction.

I remember watching a Pure Championship gauntlet in the pre-pandemic era and really enjoyed it. I love the Pure division and I really think AEW has failed to capture it. I'm really excited to see what you do here and again, nice use of some familiar ROH names.

I'll have to wait and read the show but I wonder what makes this a special showcase? Obviously you've got some names synonymous with ROH, so maybe that's it? I think all four of these men could make up a strong upper card/main event scene of your version of ROH. RUSH and Bandido are such incredible talents, although seeing them as tag team partners is interesting...I wonder if this is foreshadowing something.

Loser Leaves ROH is a random stipulation to have, especially when we haven't seen Homicide in years but I guess this is what they're doing to get eyes on the product.

S.O.S. reunion is cool! I never understood why the original STP was pulled apart. Ferrara vs. Rust is probably the least interesting of the three pre-show bouts, just because Rust barely had time to establish himself in either NXT or ROH and Ferrara has always been a tad generic for me, so I'm interested to see how you book both men. The eight man tag feels like a good time with some familiar names again.

Kelly Klein signing is pretty big. As I mentioned, Athena and the Women's title seems to have been quietly phased out after such a long reign. However, Kelly's return feels like a big moment for fans of the product, who would watch this new era. Klein had a lot of potential that seemed to disappear after all the drama with her exit, so it's nice to see that explored.

SUPERCARD OF HONOR:

I was left somewhat confused by the pre-show opener. I think you did well in establishing S.O.S. as a dominant force to people who may not be familiar with them from before but Delirious' appearance just felt out of nowhere. Again, it may have helped to tease some of the storylines you had planned within the build but I guess this could also just be the start of planting the seeds. I think I would have just liked some motive beyond the face fending off the heels.

Maria potentially recruiting Tayler Rust is a very interesting move! Nice to see MKB still being used, even if not with The OGK.

I enjoyed how Haskins stood out, even in defeat. I'm somewhat surprised that Brooks was the one to get the victory but both men are solid performers and easily could have gone up the card. Maria on the recruitment drive again - interesting - could we be seeing a new stable?

I have to say I was shocked by the TV title match, I wonder if that means Fletcher is out but I love the atonement you've given Castle with the return of The Boys - a very nice touch to redeem the act. I can imagine that going over well with the crowd.

Advertising the Honor United so early on in the show is interesting. I like the return to international events and for a cult brand that's rebuilding itself, I think the UK crowd could masquerade smaller venues. I like that you've having fun with this and bring back some old flavours. Personally, I may have held this announcement off until before the main event to get fans pumped for your next big event.

I wish there was more to the Vincent and Homicide match to get me invested. I like that you gave Homicide his flowers but I just feel like the stipulation is to be used for a big pay off and without meat to the bone. I thought it was interesting that he lost clean, with no Righteous shenanigans. I definitely think you made the right decision here as I personally enjoy Vincent's character and hope to see you go full pelt with The Righteous back together.

I think it was sensible to keep the World Tag Team titles on The OGK for the moment. I think they have relevancy in the modern era as current champions but they also have a legacy in the former ROH. That, and beyond Horus/Flamita, none of the other teams have had much of a chance to establish themselves. I loved the return of the All-Night Express, especially if you're not using King/Titus in The Foundation/LFI respectively. I think this again appeals to the type of audience you want this incarnation to appeal too, but furthermore it makes for a very interesting title match in the future.

Max The Impaler was someone they were definitely building up before the takeover, so it's a nice nod to reintroduce them. A tournament to crown a new Women of Honor Champion (which is interesting in itself that the ROH Women's World title appears to be replaced) is exciting and the MARIGOLD announcement will definitely provide some exciting contenders - Sareee and Utami are particularly exciting.

I'm in two minds about advertising a tag team showcase as a special match for it to get 7 minutes and end in a disqualification - especially with some former World Champions featured. Although, part of me thinks maybe the point was to put over this new stable as especially dominant having ambushed such established names. I'm particularly excited to see Calvin Tankman featured as I am a fan of his work - this is quite the hoss group and a massive presence. King returning to ROH in this stable is also particularly interesting. I wasn't sold on the match but I'm definitely into what you have planned for this group and also kudos for the 'dishonor' stuff as it adds to the worldbuilding of ROH to have this dishonorable acts chastised by commentary.

KENTA's arrival is another big scoop for the ROH brand and I think what you've done well is make the old guard of ROH feel important again, which you achieved with Daniels. The mention of addiction makes me think Kazarian could potentially pop up at some point?

Massive main event and to be fair, I'd be happy if any of them won but I think keeping the belt on Mark gives this new era some stability for fans who may have only tuned in during the AEW version - plus he also has such rich history that he's got legacy fans as well. I'm interested to see what's next for Gresham and Lethal, I think they're definite assets to your Ring of Honor, so would expect to see them featured again. Hero is a very interesting take, I've not seen him wrestle in some years, so would wonder whether he can still go or not but again I think this would have been a really big moment for fans of ROH.

Future of Honor announcement is cool, I imagine the ROH Dojo would be back up and running, although some of the names feel more 'current' than 'future'.

Overall, a solid start! I might have nit-picked a tad on some parts but that's just because I enjoyed the ROH product and I like what you're trying to achieve. I look forward to seeing how you continue to carve out your new version in future shows. There certainly seems plenty to look forward to with FOH, Honor United and the women's tournament on the agenda.

EDIT: I'll add my thoughts on the Pure title match here - not too sure how I ended up missing it!

I like the set-up of all the competitors surrounding the ring to add a sense of intimidation. I was surprised with Yuta taking the loss as champion so quickly but I guess this would have put the cat amongst the pigeons in terms of knowing early on that we'd have a new champion. I felt like that could have been played up to more. Nice build up of Tracy, I always think of him as a good fit for the Pure title outside of the tag division (back in the Foundation days), I think you did a good job of showcasing him. I will say I was a little disappointed that none of the Pure rules felt relevant or referenced here. I think it would have upped the ante to weave them into the match as opposed to it being a regular gauntlet match. Hopefully that's something you can work on in future. Suzuki winning is a bit of an 'eh' for me - I just don't rate him - but that's just personal opinion.

Hey Looking Glass!! Thank you for the feedback. This is my first project in a long time and still getting used to a proper flow.

I was attempting to go for a throwback that would bring in old lapsed fans and still cater to new era fans. Nothing is perfect but in hindsight I think it came off great.

To address some of the things you brought up before the show review.

-things being side stepped.. they have been for a reason.. but they aren't just gone.. there is a method to my madness lol

-the Loser Leaves stipulation does seem like it's out of nowhere.. it may just be leading to something tho. But imo it's being done as that bug hook draw to buy that new era ppv.

-the showcase thing was just to give it a special feel and because its using some of the bigger names left in the company. I was looking at it from how they would promote a big tag match with 4 top stars in njpw or Noah.

Now into the main show review replies.

-in my mind it was a way to give the fans a feel good moment and still establish SOS as a dominant force. I'm my head D showing up to save the babies from the monsters would go over crazy on a roh rebrand.

-Maria is all over the place on this show and she's planning something.. but what could it be.. she's a mastermind. She has out together quiet the collection of misfit toys and only 1 show deep.. something is brewing. Haskins, Rust and Williams is one hell of a collection of talent to have under her wing.. Maria will be looking to make a statement, but when and where is the question.

-Kyle is one of those AEW talents, who was here because he was champion.. plus I didn't want to just strip him of the belt. I wouldn't count out seeing Aussie Open return in the future.

Dalton winning the gold to open up the show was huge and like you said would go over amazing with the fans.. especially with the return of the boys.. Dalton and the boys just can't be apart.

-Honor United being announced so early on was done because there was so much big shit happening on this show.. everything imo was big and it helped establish that ROH is back out of the gate.

-Vincent and Homicide is just the beginning.. Vincent was kinda pushed to the side under the Khan era of ROH and I used this as a way to bring him back as a force of nature... just a reminder of what he was and will now be.. but I can see how it does cross like Homicide getting throw under the bus tho. But like I stated in the above comment. Its one of those things booked to draw eyes on a new era show that you need as a hook.

-The OGK are the new life blood of ROH.. they are bridging the 3 eras. So I felt some more consistency was needed.. The teams were a little thrown together but like you said it was that throwback to the anything can happen or be seen in roh. The Tag division is going to be a major focal point in this project.

The return of ANX was another one of those hooks and super over throwback acts that imo would be what brought back in that lost base.. ANX and OGK is gonna be great, because both teams think they are the definitive roh team.. and throwing in the tag title into a matchup like this.. just adds to the heat.

-Where did that pesky womens world championship go??? Couldn't find it right now and we couldn't move forward without a women's championship... The American Joshi won't be forgotten tho. ;)

Max doesn't take kindly to more people jumping infront of what could rightly should be theirs next. And Klien isn't going to back down from being punked out.

The field of 32 for the women's tournament is going to be fantastic. And the inclusing of MARIGOLD is only going to make things even more interesting.

-Now the timing on this match I do agree with.. but I'm going into these and trying to keep the shows just under 3 hours.. so somewhere had to take a hit. And imo it was a special tag team match it was 4 of the biggest names in ROH and they all have a chip on their shoulder and want to prove something. They sadly didn't get to prove anything.. as "Dishonored" has shown up and and made a huge statement. Maybe it's time for the old guard uppercard/main to take a back seat?

-ROH coming back needed something big and special.. so I felt the onky way to do that was once again to dip into the past. I felt we needed a Marque match for the first TV episode as well.. so what better way than 2 of the best to ever do it.. Kenta and Daniels have a point to prove imo.. also the outcome of that match could have some serious implications on who is next in line to challenge for the world title. I wonder if KAZ has a line to cross?

-Mark proved he was the better man in the main event.. I remember seeing alot of doubts on social media after he won that it he only is where he is because of his brother.. so a win over 2 former champions kinda solidifies his spot.

Lethal and Gresham couldn't make a mark on the first show back and I'm sure that's eating both of them up inside.. where will they turn up next??

Chris Hero making his triumphant return to ROH.. someone like you said many question if he still has it.. and he decided to return during what is possibly Mark Briscoes biggest moment of his career.. there is some mutual respect and friendly competition between the men.. but Hero chose that moment to return for a reason...

-FOH does feel current but that is just a start.. i wanted it to feature some bigger core names and then start bringing in some younger names on the scene.

-I appreciate the feedback man.. it means alot. Also I don't take them as nitpicks at all.. it means you were invested from the start and that makes me happy that someone else loves this concept as much as I do.

I truly think you will enjoy Honor Unuted and Women's Tournament and everything else that is coming!

One thing you missed was the Pure title Gauntlet and I would love to know your thoughts.

Sidenote*- I know it was traditional and didn't lean into the extra rules.. but I want those rules to be special when they finally do come up again, so you maybe won't always see those stipulations come into play, but they are there and you will see them when it MATTERs.

Thank you again Looking Glass

ROH TV on YouTube!
Episode #1: KENTA v. Daniels
Center Stage Theater
Atlanta, GA

05/02/24
Screenshot_20240618_173441_Google.jpg

The show opens with Dalton Castle lounging around with The Boys backstage.. Dalton and the Boys are all smiles and laughter and he tells them, its great to feel honorable again.

Dalton while looking up at the ceiling tells The Boys, he wants to give back to the fans and he wants to sink his teeth into teeth into this new era of ROH!! And give the people what they want and deserve..

Dalton sits up and then lovingly looks at his Boys and tells them that they are his muses.. he tells them he plans to defend this beautiful TV title… He pauses and lovingly looks at the belt and whispers to it that its the only boy who matters..

Dalton quickly refocuses and says he will be defending this championship weekly.. starting next week!!.. because he's beautiful and he has a chip on his shoulder and has something to prove!! The Boys suddenly rush over to Dalton and are very concerned.. The segment ends as The Boys check on Dalton, and he falls into their longing arms exhausted and needing comfort.
4 minutes 16 seconds
Cheeseburger, Eli Isom and Delirious v Kaun, Moses and O’Shay Edwards

Kaun and Moses open the show in the ring, Kaun grabs a mic and says he wants to reintroduce a member of the family.. Moses says this man is the 3rd brother of savagery. “Many Men” by 50 Cent echoes throughout the arena and Oshay Edwards swaggers his way to the ring and joins Kaun and Moses.. the three men do a special SOS(gang style) handshake.

Shipping Shadow Squad and Delirious have just made their entrance and they cautiously make a plan to get into the ring, as the Soldiers of Savagery stand tall in the ring.. The referee starts the match, but it's very clear from the start that this isn't going to be a normal match.. the match quickly devolves into a 3 on 3 fight, with SOS dominating in impressive fashion..

The match continues to be a one sided beatdown and it looking like there isnt any hope for Burger, Isom and Delirious… SOS make a plan for a triple finisher theit opponents.. they set them up and go for them, but Burger counters and takes Kaun out of the ring, Isom counters and takes Moses out of the ring. This left Edwards and Delirious in the ring, the latter who manages to counter a huge lariat with a devastating headbutt..

The headbutt staggers Edwards and Delirious tries to pump up the crowd and signals for the praying mantis bomb.. Just as Delirious grabs Edwards for the move, Edwards quickly pops up and drops Delirious with a huge “Right Hook” to get the pin..

Kaun and Moses hit the ring to celebrate the win with Edwards.. The SOS are standing tall in the ring and start talking to each other and pointing at Cheeseburger unmoving in ring.. SOS grab Burger and throw him up into the air with for a Double Facebuster and just as he is coming down Edwards hits Burger in the face with a huge right hook..

The three man leave the ring after what they have just done to a hige chorus of boos from the fans in attendance. Backstage staff and referees rush to the ring to check on Butger, Isom and Delirious.
5 minutes and 35 seconds

We pan around the arena fans cheering and chanting “ROH”.. Commentary then welcomes us to the first ever episode of ROH TV on YouTube and promises tonight will be a return to form.. Honor will continued to be restored.. then Kelly says that the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step and tonight is that first step.

Jay Lethal suddenly appears wearing a nice suit and walks to the ring with no music, looking very somber. Lethal stands in the ring for a rew moments and just takes in the sounds from the crowd. Lethal tries to speak but pauses a few times.. each time he pauses he seems to choke up a little.. he finally manages to talk and says that since ROH burned down.. he just hasnt felt like himself.. he says hes been a different man and not himself.. he doesnt like what he became without Honor.. and he wants to apologize to everyone for his behavior.

He then says when he heard about ROH rising from the ashes.. he felt something in heart.. something he hadn't felt in a very long time.. he knew he had to come to his senses.. Lethal says the phrase going around right now among fans and the company is “Restore Honor” and he is going to take that on his shoulders personally! He says he knowhis purpose once again and he is no longer lost as he has once again been baptized in honor!

Lethal then puts himself over as the heart and soul of ROH.. he pauses again and then smiles and points to the crowd… he then says that the only way he can restore honor is by becoming the ROH World Champion!!! The crowd explodes cheering… he says that however is something that must b…

Suddenly this brings out Vincent.. interrupting Lethal.. but he seems to be clapping for the promo.. Lethal and the fans look confused and Lethal seems annoyed at being interrupted.

Vincent is all smiles and it makes nevermore uneasy.. he tells Lethal that his sins are not easily forgiven… he says they must be cleansed in pain… Vincent tell Lethal that there the only way to do that is to see absolution!

Vincent then goes on a rant and talks about how he was looked over in the past.. So that relics like Lethal, could be protected.. So they couldn't lose their “TOP” spot.

Vincent smiles and then says Sinclair isn't here to protect you anymore.. my friend..
People like you use to be allowed to drive the company into the ground and thats why the spark of Honor was extinguished.. because everyone forgot what it really was to be honorable. He puts over that only he knows what Honor is and only he can restore it and the only way that can be done is with violence! Vincent then calms himself and says people will hate him for his message… but in their hearts they know he speaks the truth..

Vincent then gets very calm and tells Lethal.. that he has to pay for his sins and he is very sorry that he has come as the tolltaker of atonement. He tells Lethal that his sins must now be cleansed in blood… and soon he will forever be gone from ROH…because the only way to end cancer.. is to cut it out!

Vincent then reaches to shake Lethal’s hand and starts laughing.. but Lethal reluctantly accepts the shake.. suddenly Vincent pulls Lethal in close and hugs him.. This startles Lethal, who quickly jumps back.. as he expected to be attacked. Vincent just backs out of the ring and smiles and waves to Lethal as he backs up the ramp … Lethal is left confused in the ring.

OGK and Woods swarm attacked ANX and Suzuki in the ring during Suzukis entrance. The 3 men quickly took control of the situation and threw ANX to the outside of the ring.. they then began a 3 on 1 beat down on Suzuki and it wasn't pretty.. Suzuki eventually manages to fight back and murders his way through his opponents.. and the crowd comes alive.

Suzuki begins dominates the match by taking the fight to Taven.. he quickly locks Taven into a headlock and tries to wrench the life out of him.. Taven tries to fight back but the choke becomes too strong.. Suzuki then senses the life coming out of Taven and quickly goes for the Gotch Style Piledriver.. but just as Suzuki has him in position, Bennett hits a blockbuster SuperKick to Suzuki, knocking him flat on his back.

Bennett checks on Taven and yell for Woods to end Suzuki.. Woods hits a snap Butterfly Suplex on Suzuki and then quickly follows that up with a running bicycle knee..knocking Suzuki to the mat hard once again.

Just as Woods is going for the pin, he gets rocked with stero Superkicks from ANX, from out no where. ANX helps Suzuki to his feet and the 3 men are standing tall, ready to keep fighting. The 3 heels hit the ring and it's an all out brawl this time, but this time its an even fight..

The finish of the match came when Ref Gina Monti got slammed into, when Woods was tripped and fell into her. Suzuki had Just hit a running Knee on Woods and was signaling for the Gotch Style Pile Driver, but it never came to be as The OGK hit the ring and hit Suzuki with the ROH World Tag Team Championships, knocking him down cold..

The OGK then quickly take the fight on the outside of the ring to ANX and they two teams end up brawling, but OGK want nothing to do with ANX and take them down with lowblows.

Woods then takes advantage of the situation and lands a devastating German-Suplex on ROH Pure Champion, Minoru Suzuki!!! to score the victory.

The OGK hit the ring and over dramatically celebrate their victory with Woods.. they give Woods the Pure Championship and then all three men pose with the championship gold in the ring.. Woods then looks at the Pure Championship and throws it at Suzuki, who is on the outside of the ring. The OGK yell insults and taunt ANX to end the segment.
11 minutes 13 seconds

We get a promo from Mark Briscoe.. he is sitting on the porch of his house with the ROH Championship sitting on small table next to him.. he takes a swig of a beer and lets out a long sigh.. he says at Supercard of Honor, he finally felt peace and happiness… but then he realized thats what he felt and he felt bad about.. but he turned to prayer and said he felt a message from his brother… he says Jay told him to reach for the sky and make him proud and thats what hes gonna do.

He takes another giant swig of his beer.. and starts talking how is he is going to make his family, his brother, the fans and the company proud. He pauses and then reaches over and gently rubs the ROH Championship..... he then kisses 2 fingers and then reaches for the sky... and he sniffles a bit but tries to hide it.

Mark says he's not going down without a God damn fight.. he puts over the companies new tagline "restore honor"... and says hes going to do that by being a fighting champion... He makes it very clear that he aint about to back down from a fight… from anyone... it doesn't even matter if its from his own Granny Briscoe and he chuckles...

He says he aint forgotten about Chris… and he knows him well.. Mark says Hero has something to prove and that's why he made his return when he did.... He then says but Chris… ain't gonna prove shit against him.. because he ain't no bitch.

He tells Chris to step up and to prove that he can still go.. and says “lets restore this belt”.. he then picks up the ROH Championship off the table and puts it over his shoulder.. andooks down at it and smiles.

Mark… pauses again... then chugs the rest of his beer and crushes the can in his hands and tosses it to the side... he ends the promo by saying that if Chris really wants it… then its gonna be god damn war!!

Main Event
KENTA v Christopher Daniels

KENTA and Christopher Daniels starts out with a Code of Honor handshake.. the two men then test eachothers strength and chain wrestling to assert control over the match. The trading of holds continues and eventualy keeps going and speeds up.. it gets to the point where both men quickly jump to their feet and ready to fight.. but they pause and get a standing ovation from the crowd.

Daniels and KENTA put on a clinic that kept the fans on their feet the entire match. We hit the 15 minute mark of the match and it was Christopher Daniels that was in control. He counters a Running Knee from KENTA, with a drop toe hold and then begins assaulting Kenta with stomps to his upper body… Daniels sensing that he has control quiet hits The Last Rites and almost puts KENTA away.. but he somehow manages to just get the shoulder up.

The crowd begins a “Fight Forever” chant as Daniels signals he wants to close this one out. Daniels pulls KENTA to his feet and drops him with a thundering Death Valley Driver and the crowd is awe struck.. Daniels then signals for the BME, but before he can even climb the corner, KENTA comes flying out of nowhere with a Knee Strike to the back of Daniels… This causes Daniels to collapse and KENTA is ontop of him.. KENTA hits a series of vicious knee strikes to the back, neck and head of Daniels and then before Daniels can even react, he is locked into a Dragon Sleeper.

KENTA then yells while wrechning the hold and tries to force Daniels to tap out.. Daniels is struggling in the hold and it doesn't seem like he's going to be able to get out of this one.. but he continues to fight it and he's finally able to swing his foot to the bottom rope, but it was at the cost of fighting for several minutes and his body now worse for ware.. but the match would continue.

We hear the ring announcer call out that 20 minutes has elapsed in this match.. the announcers put over the match as something that would belong on a best of Ring Of Honor DVD. The crowd also cant seem to be able to get enough of the match..

Somewhere during the 22 and 26 minute mark.. several members of the roster came out onto the stage to see the match in person, as Daniels and KENTA were treading some of the most brutal strikes, seen in modern pro wrestling. The crowd would roar alive after each successful strike.. and after each block, it was like the opponenents would lay into eachother even harder.

The finish came when it looked like KENTA Was about to hit the Go 2 Sleep, but Daniels fought out of the hold with several elbow shots to the head of KENTA..

Daniels would then be able to slide off his shoulders and then without hesitation puts his opponent down with The Angel's Wings!!.. the crowd explodes cheering, as Daniels pops to feet immediately and goes for the BME…..but somehow KENTA has jumped to his feet and grabbed Daniels out of the air and immediately hits him with a brutal Go 2 Sleep! for the victory at the 29 minute mark…

The crowd goes insane as KENTA has won… the announcers put over the match as an absolute clinic in pro wrestling and they are juts completely blown away by the match that they keep losing their minds.
Before Bobby Cruise can even announce the winner… KENTA gets his victory celebration cut short…. as Make Em Say starts playing and Jonathan Gresham makes his entrance and the crowd goes insane… Gresham wastes little time and hits the ring, quickly stepping up to KENTA

But KENTA just plays it cool and smiles and sits down cross-legged infront of Gresham… as the show seemingly fades to black…

A Special Message...
Suddenly there is alot of static and tracking like an old VHS and then we cut backstage to Harvey Wippleman.

Wippleman introduces himself to everyone and then says.. Shane Taylor, Silas Young, RUSH and Bandido will never be the same again after what Brodie King, Calvin Tankman, Manders and Jake Something did to them at The Supercard of Honor! He then says that soon Ring Of Honor will never be the same again.. because The New Era is here, baby!! The New Era then walk up behind Harvey and he smugly smiles.

Wippleman then yells.... on July 6th in New York, New York.. at Glory By Honor inside The Hammerstein Ballroom… these 4 men (he points to New Era behind him)want the very best of what Ring of Honor has to offer in an 8 Man Tag Team War! The show then finally fades to black with Wippleman laughing and praising his team.

Interesting to see ROH TV on YouTube and not Honor Club but honestly, I think ROH needs more eyes on it and YouTube is a good way of getting exposure when there's not viable TV deals.

I like Dalton leaning into the Television Championship as a fighting title. I think it adds stakes to the championship although I can already hear the in-universe IWC saying "why is there a TV title if it isn't on TV!?". Got to love them. I'm not sure if I would have had this opening the show but it was a fun little segment nonetheless.

Nice reintroduction of O'Shay Edwards, he felt like someone the company was getting behind and it's nice to keep the STP link even if they're no longer part of STP. I think his inclusion makes sense, as does the decision to put SOS over Delirious and co. A nice showcase for the new trio - which reminds me, what became of the Six Man titles?

This felt much more of an opening segment. I agree with Lethal, other than Gresham, I think he has a right to call himself the heart and soul of Ring of Honor. I enjoyed the interaction with Vincent, who comes across as trying to lure Lethal over rather than simply talking trash. I think it was a nice change of pace from the normal heel interrupts face promo we see.

Interesting bracketology, it feels very faithful to something we could have seen in real life. I'm surprised that Kelly Klein and Max are going toe-to-toe in the opening round but it adds some nice unpredictability rather than build to have them face each other at the end of block A. How come some are fatal four ways and triple threats though? Mandy Sacs and Vix Crow are interesting additions. I also love the international flabour with Faby Apache, Miyu Yamashita and Sareee.

While they won through the assist, I was surprised to see Suzuki take the loss to Woods and OGK - not that I mind it. I assumed that the new champion and the returning ANX would have the victory but kudos for swerving expectation and Tony's formulaic booking.

Come to think of it, with such a big return for Chris Hero, I think this Mark Briscoe segment would have been a really nice opener as a way of ushering in the first episode with a Jay tribute, cementing Mark's legacy as champion in this new era after his first defence and addressing Chris. I'll be interested to see how Hero responds.

It felt like KENTA had to win, even with Daniels being a ROH veteran. Initially, I was wondering where KENTA's path could go with the World Title feud already in place and Lethal now tied up with Vincent, so I was particularly excited to see Gresham step up to the plate. I'm a fan of The Octopus but I can appreciate KENTA's talent too, so I think this could be a really fun match when the two eventually face off.

I liked the visual of the final segment with the old VHS with Wippleman. So Manders, Tankman, Something and King are the New Era? I think it works, although Brody technically has been with the company before but I guess the ideology is around who the top guys should be rather than tenure. I think this was an interesting direction to go as they're all such different personalities that uniting them via a manager is a smart move. The match makes sense and I'm expecting to see some faction wars breaking out over the next couple of shows.

So will Honor United be a series of specials or are the ROH TV episodes taped in the UK? I assume it's the first but correct me if I'm wrong?

Overall, I thought this was a good read. I like how it feels like a nice condensed show but with plenty of variety as opposed to a drawn out, bloated affair. That is very much in keeping with how ROH used to be, with 3 or so matches per show.

Youtube of Honor.. it just feels like the perfect fit and what better way to get eyes on a product that many question is even viable.

Dalton wasn't pushed well in the Khan era of roh and he is hungry and has something to prove and he is using the TV Championship to make that point.. now it's just a matter of if Dalton is all flash or does he have substance.

As for choosing to open the show with Dalton.. there is a method to the madness. He opened Supercard Of Honor winning championship gold and now opened the debut episode on youtube.. that imo firmly places dalton as a major player in the compan going forward.. so Dalton being important makes the TV gold important..

The TV title is here to stay.. No matter what the naysayers have to say… atleast for now.

With Oshay back and being with Kaun and Moses.. imo makes them a very dangerous unit.. will be interesting to see where they go next and or if this feud continues.. will Cheeseburger even return after that vicious attack?

Where are those pesky 6 man titles? Must be in the same place as the Roh women's world championship.. they aren't gone forever tho..

Lethal has the weight of the world on his shoulders and blames himself for the fall of roh and its his personal mission to restore the company.. Vincent however feels its now his time and doesn't think Lethal should be here.

It wad a strong segment and while I do see where you are coming from that it could have opened the show.. both men are very well established and its placing just helped solidify that everyone in the company is a big star.. atleast that's the reason I laid it out the way I did.

I wanted the brackets to feel special and I wanted the tournament to feel huge.. so I tried to make it feel like the Women of Honor title is wanted by everyone.. Klien and Max are going to have an all out war and only one of them will move on.. so it adds alot of stakes their match.. rn in the tournament there is only room for 1 of them. So only the best will move forward, but who will that be.

Each block has a 3 way and a 4 way.. just to make the tournament to feel special and more important.

There are alot of who's who's in the tournament from all over the world and like I said it just goes to show you, everyone wants in. Mandy and Vix are wildcards and have to prove if they even belong in this tournament.

Woods and OGK proved to be the superior team.. Woods pinning Suzuki clean, means he should be next in line for a shot at the Pure Championship.. ANX also made a statement with their return but couldn't beat OGK in their first match back.. so you have to think that makes ogk feel even more superior. Will be interesting to see how this feud unfolds.

Mark is the biggest name in the company right now and holds the top prize.. so while I see your point.. it gives other names the chance to feel like top stars in other key moments. While a Jay tribute would have gone over well.. Mark doesnt want to forever be in his brothers shadow and it's time for roh as well to move forward… but that doesnt mean Jay is forgotten ;).. you will see soon.

Kenta and daniels was fun for me and both men have alot to do going forward.. Gresham like Lethal is lost and trying to find his place in the world.. so he decided to pick a fight with the baddest dog in the yard.. one would think that if Gresham can pick up a win over Kenta.. it would put him on a path towards the world title.. but the same could also be said about Vincent and Lethal.. the main event scene is heating up big time..

I wanted this to feel special and different and to feel like a throwback.. Harvey putting together a group to prove he's the best manager in the game once again.. and it would be hard to argue against him.. the new era made a huge statement on their debut.. also you are 100% right its an ideology about who belongs on top.. a new roh should have new top stars and not the same ones who failed to keep the company going.

I can't speak on Honor United just yet.. but you will see soon.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show and I want to keep it short and sweet and feel as much like roh as possible. I hope you continue to ride along for the adventure.. because the road to Glory By Honor is going to be special.

Moments ago across all ROH social media channels a video was posted showing the brutal attack from The New Era on Silas Young, Shane Taylor, RUSH and Bandido at Supercard of Honor..

Towards the end of the video it's starts going very staticy and tracing lines begin appearing more and more frequent.. we then hear the sound of a VHS ejecting..

Harvy Wippleman then walks into frame smoking a cigar with a very smug smile as he puffs away.. he then says that ROH belongs to The New Era... and one by one Calvin Tankman, 1 Called Manders, Jake Something and Brody King, all walk into the scene and stand behind him..

Wippleman then smiles and extends his arms out and laughs and promises that when he's done Ring of Honor.... will never be the same again..
