This. Let somebody like Fandango or Dolph Ziggler go over him in his retirement match. Guest appearances on RAW or SD every once in awhile or even managing another luchadore a few years down the road.

He can have a passing of the mask moment by letting sin cara beat him.

Sin Cara shipp has sailed into Yoshi Tatsu territory.

Pass the mask to El Generico.

Yeah, WWE needs to stop forcing Sin Cara on us. WCW didn't need to force Rey Mysterio on their audience he just took off and became a mainstream name in a division that wasn't supposed have any real direction.

To be honest, I don't think he's being forced on us any more. They took a gamble on him and it didn't pay off. They've known that for a long time now.

If they were forcing Sin Cara on us, he'd be main eventing Mania.

I agree with Deezy, pass the mask on to Generico. A guy who is known to work well, great in the ring and from what I've heard pretty decent on the mic.

Pass the mask to El Generico.

Have Generico debut sans mask, Canadian ginger and all but fighting his lucha style, and try to get respect from these actual Mexican luchadors. Have him EVENTUALLY go over Rey, and Rey gives him his mask, like a sign of honor.

Puts Generico over for life, gives you a NEW mask to sell to kiddies and well, it gets Generico back into his gimmick, and ..most importantly, gets Rey off those knees.

Book it, It doesn't have to make sense, just DO it lol.

How has he been forced on the audience? He hasn't even been given that big a push, when he wasn't injured, if he was being forced on us he would have been thrown onto the WM card already.

That is an incredible idea and it would be good to see it happen but it all depends on if Generico makes it out of developmental and if WWE actually have faith in him.

At the moment he isn't being forced on us but c'mon when he first came on the scene, after his initial injury and then his tag team with Rey(when Rey was healthy enough to actually work) were all examples. The people that were behind kept wanting to give him chances to and he never really lost. And his matches didn't really improve when he started going up the card, he was still botching in this about every match. He is seriously worse than Ultimo Dragon when he works in the US with his nerves. They gave him a try and now I still hear folks say well they should still keep him to replace Rey Mysterio. There is no way in hell this guy can replace Rey Mysterio.

So let's go with that El Generico idea. I don't think he'll have the same problems. His selling ability is awful at times, though.

This would be the best way for them to do it! I'd certainly mark the fuck out.
