Alright, I rarely venture into this section because I don't really play video games but I was thinking about this last night and I felt it would be a good place to talk about it. The last game I played through fully was Resident Evil 4 and yes, I thought it was pretty awesome. I was wondering if anyone else had played it and also what your thoughts were as to whether it could be translated properly into a film?

Obviously there would need to be some plot adjustments but I honestly think it has the basis of a great story that would allow for a lot of action, horror and drama all wrapped up into a nice little package.

Your thoughts?

I first played it on Gamecube back in '05, and it is one of my favorite games of all of them. Yeah there are no "zombies", but everyone is infected with a type of parasite that turns them into something "zombie-like" so it still follows a parasitic path. There would definitely be a lot to put into it if it was tranfsormed into a film, but overall, I think that this could definitely work as a side story for Leon after we see him in the 5th film that comes out this September.

Live action or CGI?

It's very doubtful they'll make a live action film based entirely on one of the video games, especially while the Paul W.S. Anderson's Resident Evil films are still making money but Capcom did make Degeneration not too long ago set in the game timeline.

It should be noted that Leon S. Kennedy has been announced to appear in Resident Evil: Retribution.

Out of curiosity, is 4 the only one you've played thus far?

I'd say live action as opposed to CGI, just because I like it better.

I've played all the Resident Evil games up until 4, haven't played any since if there even is any others. 4 is probably my favourite, though I really like the original as well, particularly the ultra-hard Director's Cut version. Resident Evil 0 was quite good too.

You need to play Resident Evil 5, it is definitely worth the length of play. Albert Wesker is the main enemy in the game, but the whole storyline is badass... Their coming out with #6 in a few weeks and it looks like it will have every aspect of every game rolled into one
