Genius is a term thrown around too often, so let's say they were ahead of their time. The harmonies and layers of instruments build great songs. The main problem is, nobody knew what to do with them in the early 90's or even really to this day.

Oh, that's very cool. It was their breakthrough album, made them college radio darlings and got them signed to a major label deal. Bill, the lead singer/guitarist wrote the history of The Cars that came out a couple of months ago. I have yet to read it, but The Cars are one of my favorite bands.

If you're a fan of The White Stripes, I'd give this a shot. Guitar and drums. Not doing anything earth shattering, but they're fun and catchy. Jack White talked about Dex's influence after Dex passed away a couple of years back.

The Who in full flight. You get the first set which has them getting warmed up for what's about to come...Tommy Live and complete. Music's personal, so I don't know what you'll think, but it's arguably one of the best live albums in music history. If you like the Who and somehow never heard them live in their prime. Here you go. I haven't listened to the Hull set, so I don't know.

The first rap album that I know with skits. I'm no expert, but this album has everything.



Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, Billy Bremner and Terry Williams, they all played on each other's albums, but technically only released one studio album and this live one due to recording contracts with other companies. A fantastically talented band, but Nick and Dave often butted heads for differing music beliefs. When they were getting along, they were great. This is one of those times. Definitely worth a listen.
