WWF King of the Ring 2000

Date: June 25th, 2000

Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio


This year's KOTR is headlined by the finals of the tournament as well as Triple H defending the WWF title against The Rock after winning back the title in questionable fashion on Smackdown shortly after Judgment Day. Also in non-tournament action: Val Venis beats Kurt Angle for the Intercontinental title and defends against Rikishi; D'Lo Brown regains the European title and defends against Tazz; The Acolytes win the tag titles from the Hardy Boyz and grant them a rematch at KOTR; Kane battles The Undertaker.

Card Highlights:

Pre-Show Match

Hardy Boyz (Matt & Jeff Hardy) vs. Edge & Christian --> Edge & Christian wins, they advance to the KOTR tournament as this match was to fill the 2 remaining slots in the tournament. Edge will face off with Christian in the QF round.

Tag Team Match

A classic high-flying opener that set the tone for the night.
