Airfixx, you said "the most intriguing outcomes would require run-ins"; require literally means need.
...Yes, but still not to be construed specifically as "Airfixx thinks the matches need run-ins in order to be a coherent success".
I get your point now, though I still object. Nothing in any of these storylines insist that they need run-ins to be intriguing.
No, not the storylines, THE OUTCOMES...... Still not quite there.... In order to acheive what I believe to be the MOST intiguing outcomes, I believe said run-ins would be necessary.
It seems as though you're of the idea that none of these matches could finish cleanly in any intriguing way. It would shake the wrestling world to have Miz go over clean (although I'm almost positive we can write this match off as going to Cena) and that possibility alone sells that match.
You've already said that you're damn near positive that that won't happen, so come with an example that you do find believable and I'll happily re-entertain this part of your post.
Not knowing if Christian will be involved in any capacity adds some intrigue. But the fact he has been saving Edge keeps fans believing Edge has a chance to defend himself at WrestleMania. It automatically points to the bulk of the physical damage having to be done at Mania in the match.
Granted, yes, Chritian's presence has livened the TV shows up with regard to Edge/DelRio, but that's neither here nor there.
As already said, adding Christian to the match would be straight-up B-grade booking.... Besides, what has Christian done (in kayfaybe) to deserve being shoed into a WM world title match?
I don't disagree that Austin kind of overshadows the entire situation
My problem isn't that he "overshadows" the angle, it's that he changes the dynamic of the match so it's no longer 'advantage heel'.
and was sloppily thrown into the mix of a rather incredible storyline, but if creative haven't dropped the ball on this one yet, I'll take my chances over the next couple of weeks believing they can write Austin into this perfectly. Although, it would have been far more believable to write Rock into this one (had he not been the host) due to his history with Cole.
That still wouldn't work for exactly the same reasons.
As far as the Taker-HHH stuff; you're basing your judgment on Nexus interfering with Taker vs. Kane?
No. Nothing of the sort. I alluded to the NUMEROUS matches vs Kane as a measure of how physically capable Taker is (or isn't) these days.
Based on this, I am fearfull for the quality of match and thus don't see them delivering the proverbial slobberknocker required to live up to the simple 'clash of two titans' storyline that they've been booked into.
