Battleground was very good, I enjoyed it. 8/10
- Sasha Banks & Bayley vs Charlotte & Dana Brooke was a good show opener. ***
Marked for Bayley and Sasha tapping the champ out was the right call.
- The Wyatt Family vs The New Day was good given the time constraint. ***
Woods finally overcoming his fear and Wyatts looking like total beasts (especially Bray with his offense and his presence overall) was good to see. Also, damn Big E almost broke his freakin' neck! Loved the chaotic homestretch and The Wyatts getting the win was a pleasant surprise.
- Rusev vs Zack Ryder was solid. **½
The match didn't outstay its welcome, it hit all the points it needed to hit and the right man won. All I can say, really. I wish RuRu had dropped Mojo post-match, though.
- Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens was fantastic and MOTN. ****½-****¾
I'm gonna have to rewatch it, amazing stuff! Up there with Nakamura/Zayn from TakeOver. Wonderful storytelling, incredible action. And Zayn winning was an incredibly feel-good moment.
- Natalya vs Becky Lynch was decent, but pretty mundane. Plus, Nattie won, so meh. **
- The Miz vs Darren Young was the first thing on the show I didn't like. *½
This was not good. I mean, they worked an OK match, but I, along with everyone else found myself not caring.
- John Cena, Enzo & Big Cass vs The Club was a good and fun match, I enjoyed it. ***¼
Everyone played their roles well and delivered a fun match. Cena hitting AA on Styles from the top rope was a nice finishing touch, as it also furthers their feud on SD, while Gallows and Anderson can do their own thing with Enzo and Cass on RAW. Loved Enzo and Cass' pre-match promos, btw.
- The Highlight Reel segment with Y2J and Randy Orton was fine. It went a bit long for my taste, but the RKO OUTTA NOWHERE, as well as the "no enhancement needed" bit which made me LOL were worth it. I've missed you, Randy. Welcome back!
- Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns was a very good ME. ***¾
They started out a bit slow in the first half, but thankfully kicked it up a notch in the second and delivered some pretty good stuff. And well, I'll be damned! Ambrose retained! Good call, honestly and I'm happy about it. SmackDown has long been treated as the inferior brand and they need THE champion now. But it's only going to last till SummerSlam, right? BUT WHO DOES HE FACE?! Anyways, I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts.
