Review :

Baron Corbin vs John Cena **1/4

Well Corbin is officially dead. Match was nothing special

Natalya vs Naomi **3/4

This was decent. Natalya deserves one more run with the belt, so I am ok with her winning here.

Big Cass vs Big Show *1/4

GTFO with this garbage. The fact that this made it to the main card, and Usos vs New Day didn't makes me ill.

Rusev vs Randy Orton DUD

Well I thought finally we were going to get a good match. Lul NOPE RKO outta nowhere, Orton wins in 10 secs. This is the part of the show that pissed me off the most, like why would you do this to Rusev? What has he done to get this treatment? Then Vince will complain that no one is grabbing the imaginary brass ring, STUPID IDIOT.

Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss ***1/4

Oh thank God, something positive. Nothing jaw dropping here, but an overall good match. I was actually expecting Bayley to come out and turn heel, but it's a good thing it didn't happen because that would have been absolute garbage.

Demon lord king god Balor vs Bray Wyatt **1/2

Ehhh, ok I guess. Nothing much to say about this one, but the paint is always cool to see.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs Sheamus and Cesaro ***3/4

Great match, and by far the best part of this show up to this point. Cesaro and Sheamus have been killing it with these tag team matches, I enjoyed every PPV match they had this year so far. Seth and Dean winning the titles was a great moment.

Kevin Owens vs AJ Styles ****

This match was great, but still really funny considering how many times Shane was involved. If you took a shot every time Shane got pushed or kicked or punched or shoved, you would be drunk by the 5th minute of the match lol. Regardless I loved it. The in ring work was just too damn good, and nothing could have ruined it for me. Styles retains as expected.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Jinder Mahal *1/4

By this point the PPV has started building some momentum, but don't worry it all fell flat here. What a bland, boring and down right Blue World title match. The ending was just OMG. Jinder is getting 5 month WORLD TITLE REIGNS while Rusev is losing matches in 5 seconds, I guess Jinder grabbed the brass ring better somehow.

Braun Strowman vs Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar vs Samoa Joe ****1/4

At least this match didn't let me down. Pure chaos from start to finish, and it was brilliant. Strowman killing Lesnar was just money. The only complaint I have is that Joe really didn't do all that much in this match. Other then that this was a great main event.

Overall : 6/10

Pretty underwhelming show for me. While it did have some good/great matches, the structure of the show was way off, and the undercard was piss poor.

This is the part of the show that pissed me off the most, like why would you do this to Rusev? What has he done to get this treatment?

I know this is the "Summerslam rating" thread but since I posed the exact same question and being I'm pretty sure a big portion of the fans are wondering the same thing, allow me a small follow-up...

So, after I posted my thoughts yesterday and before laying down for a nice good night sleep, I noticed that Solomonster had just uploaded his Summerslam recap podcast and decided to give it a listen before calling it a night. While discussing the Orton/Rusev match and what had transpired, he talked about a rumor that had started a few days ago, midst last week, which I too had heard but didn't really buy into. Now, granted, this is still just a rumor but there's speculation that Rusev may have actually asked for his release...

If this by any chance has any validity to it, it could explain why Rusev has been treated this way basically from the minute he returned after his injury. I mean, here we were thinking that him being drafted to SD would give him the opportunity to kind of start over and rejuvinate his career but instead, he got fed to both Cena and Orton in back to back PPV's and nothing significant to show for in between, unless you count a win over Chad Gable. There's also been no explanation whatsoever as to why they've split him and Lana up for no apparent reason so...Idk.........this just sucks...

5/10 AND I FREAKING 2ND GUESSED LIKE 5 THINGS IN THE PREDICTIONS.

Seriously I was mother fucking right with almost everything the first time around and I freaking blew it.

A few things I should of listened to wresltetalk about... like Sasha and Jinder.

But at first I was freaking saying to myself: "they are doing hot potato with the Cruiserweight Championship".

Then I said: "I think Cena will go over if they don't want Corbin anymore"

I could of nailed this! Dang it, well at least I can drink myself happy tonight since I never gamble.

SummerSlam was not a good show. It was meh and boring for the most part. 4/10

A lof of the in-ring efforts felt mediocre, there were some questionable booking decisions and a lot of title changes just felt like there's another superstar shake-up on the horizon.

However, the PPV had a few bright spots. Both tag title matches were great, as well as the ME, which was MOTN. Everything else was skippable.

So, with that said, I'm done with RAW and SmackDown for now. I won't be watching the weekly shows anymore, but I might be watching PPVs, though.

On a side note, NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III > SummerSlam.
