Honestly, just thinking about it I'd say - not including NXT - this has been my favorite WWE event of 2018, which is funny since Hell In A Cell 2017 was my favorite WWE event of last year. Sure the ending was disappointing, but the ending is always disappointing

Props

Becky is Savage and Charlotte is Hogan. Charlotte going to shake Becky's hand trying to remain in the spotlight is heelish. Becky is being booked brilliantly. Charlotte is slowly turning into a monster.

Cuz Seth wanted to be tag champs and hold two belts and Nakamura had no worthy competition.

Match of the night was Becky vs Charlotte. The pure emotion and storytelling was great, I think they were holding back a little because they have a least a couple more matches but the ending was great because I marked the hell out as it was so unexpected.

Randy vs Jeff is great, heel Orton is a manic and the screwdriver scene made me look away from the TV don't know if that was scripted or not.

Raw Tag Team matches was good too, I was expecting the Shield to win but I gladly shocked that they didn't. It adds on to the rivalry a little bit more.

Every other match didn't stick out enough to me to write a short review on it,maybe on my second time watching I'll write something about them. But I do have one last thing to say....

Fuck Roman and Brock :sad1:

You know, they had a pretty good PPV rolling until the final match. That was the biggest piece of crap I think I have seen by WWE. There was no logical reason why guys went out and started climbing the Cell. And while everything focused on those guys for five or ten minutes we are supposed to believe that Reins and Strohman couldn't do anything but lay there. Let's throw in the kitchen sink and have Lesnar show up. Whoever scripted that match should be fired. It seems everytime the WWE gets a PPV going strong they flush it all down the toilet with some stupid, cartoonish story line. We should have known that when Mick Foley was the guest referee the match was going to be messed up. Those athletes work so hard and then to have a match like the finale turn things into a joke is really sad. Only thing that final match missed was Mr. Ego, Triple H. Oh yea, he is going to irradiate us of the Undertaker in 3 weeks. From some extremely talented new athletes we are seeing some amazing things. The WWE, determined to not let us forget the past, ruins shows. God Bless the Undertaker as he has lived out his time just as well as Triple H. I hope he gets a good paycheck to stumble around the ring with the Game. Don't even get me going on Shawn Michaels. His ego is the size of Montana and he and Triple H are the things that wouldn't leave. Too bad Ric Flair isn't ten years younger. Put him and Orton together and get rid of these fossils. All I can say about all of this is Praise The Lord Hulk Hogan is not in the picture.

Randy Orton won by pin fall
Eh, did it really matter either way?

Becky Lynch won
Good. About time she won.

McIntyre and Ziggler retained
A bit of a surprise.

AJ retained by pin fall
No surprise really.

Miz and Marysse won
Predictable.

Ronda retained
Predictable.

Brock Lesnar came in, tore the cage opened and beat Roman and Braun and the match was thrown out.
Not predictable at all but the fact that they both had to stop the match over a single F5 each... LOL
This ending made the entire PPV sound like an utter joke to me. Should rename this to "Meme in a Cell".

It wasn't even a good cage opening either like he just kicked that shit in, you telling me that some steel cage match doors are stronger than Hell in a Cell. Whoever wrote that deserves to be fired and let the door hit them on the way out.

I wouldn't say it was bad but it wasn't all that good either lol
  • Randy vs Jeff was a good opener and probably one of the more brutal HIAC of the modern era. That screwdriver spot still makes me cringe just thinking about it
  • Becky vs Charlotte was a bit of a let down and the ending kinda fell flat as well. I guess they had no other option because they couldn't make Becky lose but also didn't want Charlotte to take a definitive L, so a sloppy roll up will do. They should've really done the double turn after it because that ending was awkward af, they're probably gonna do it some other time tho
  • the tag title match was great and definitely match of the night. I was actually hoping for the Shield to win but maybe another time
  • Joe vs Styles was getting quite slow and that ending just had Road Dogg written all over it
  • the mixed tag was as lame as expected and let's just hope we can send Brie back home to her baby again because this ain't it
  • Bliss/Ronda was ok but the thing that interests me is, what are they gonna do with Bliss now that they can't put the womens title on her repeatedly? Are they just gonna put her on the shelf until Ronda leaves so that she can win every title match again or..?
  • main event was good and complete chaos as it should be, but that ending was the most WWE thing I've seen in a while. I was watching this with a friend of mine and after the last F5 I asked him, why does this feel like the show's ending on this? And he couldn't believe it but they actually called a HIAC match a no contest. Mick Foley, 20 years ago, fell off of the cell 2 times, took a bump on thumbtacks and they still finished the match lmao. You'd think that after promoting the Taker/Mankind stuff and showing that footage that they wouldn't pull pussy shit like this now but I guess so. It's frustrating because it would have been so easy to fix this by simply letting them pin each other or have someone hit 1 more finisher to end it all but instead they made them look weak as hell by having to end the match for them
far from a perfect PPV but it's not terrible, I'd give it a 4/10
You know, I am probably going to repeat myself but I totally agree with you on some of your observations. I am still wondering what happened to OskaU. She has totally disappeared since Rousy came on the scene. If Rousy gets a few more matches in a clash between her and Oskau would be amazing. Not taking anything from Bliss. She is smart, crafty and unafraid but once Charlotte beat Oskau she just disappeared and the Bliss Rousy feud was on. I think there was some incredible efforts by the athletes all night long but that final match was messed up. If I was a script writer and that was the best I could come up with, I would quit out of embarrassment.

IC because Seth was in the tag title match and US for basically no reason

Asuka's on SmackDown, she's doing a comedy tag team with Naomi (the glow person) for some reason

Wow, I saw a promo where she got glow and go mixed up that was really lame. I hope Asuka signed a good contract. Money would be the only thing that would put me in that situation. Hope she returns before she is forgotten like so many of their wrestlers are.
