So... I just learned about this and I thought, maybe someone else finds it interesting as well.

The top ten movies of all time in amount of tickets sold in German theatres.

cvfbfbbyc09.png

Re-releases were apparently also calculated into this and I think that is the big reason for The Jungle Book being up there, because I saw that movie in the theatre as well and I'm not close to being 54 years old.

Now Avatar is running in theatres again here right now and it's only like 200.000 tickets behind The Lion King, so it could end up in there. With Avatar being from 2009 though, the best-placed movie, which came out in Germany within the last 10 years is The Intouchables with about 9.1 million tickets sold.

The newest movie that is placed within the Top 100 is Frozen II.

Just to underline how huge they are. Hill (with 29 movies) and Spencer (with 28) are the two actors who had the most movies in German theatres, which sold at least 1 million tickets. Sean Connery is behind them with 25 movies.

That's only about the amount of movies, which reached that mark, not total tickets sold though... but still.

I thought the Bumblebee film was a freaking great film and Hailee Steinfeld really did her thing in the film.

@Jimmy King I see you've watched X and Pearl on your movie log. Those are on my list to watch next this week. Do you think it's better to watch Pearl first? I do see the reviews for that are more positive and I believe it's meant to be the prequel?

Pearl is definitely a prequel and it wouldn’t hurt to watch that first before watching X, but it’s up to you how you want to do it.

There will be a sequel to X coming out next year called MaXXXine, which is based off of Mia Goth’s other character in X, that I’m very excited for.

Nice, I'll start with Pearl first then, I think I'm more excited for it. Yeah I heard Mia Goth is quite amazing in it. I'm excited to check these out.

X has Brittany Snow too who I'm a big fan of because of the Pitch Perfect films and whatnot. Also Jenna Ortega who was awesome in Scream.

I finally got to watching Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, pretty rough watch. I don't think I've laughed during watching it.

Next month, Peacock will premiere a new film starring veteran WWE Superstar John Cena.

Peacock has announced that “The Independent,” a political thriller, will premiere exclusively on the streaming platform on Wednesday, November 2.

The film is directed by Amy Rice and stars John Cena, Ann Dowd, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Brian Cox. The film is being released by Relativity Media, Park Pictures, Anonymous Content, and NEXT Productions, in collaboration with Orogen Entertainment and The Exchange. The script was written by Evan Parter.

“The Independent” follows a young journalist who uncovers a conspiracy involving a US Presidential candidate that has the potential to change the outcome of the election and the fate of the country. Nate Sterling, America’s first viable independent candidate, is played by Cena. The official synopsis is as follows:

“It’s the final weeks of the most consequential presidential election in history. America is poised to elect either its first female president (Ann Dowd) or its first viable independent candidate (John Cena). Reporting history as it’s made, an idealistic young journalist (Jodie Turner-Smith) teams up with her idol, legendary journalist Nick Booker (Brian Cox), to uncover a conspiracy that places the fate of the election, and the country, in their hands.”

Sam Bisbee, Theodora Dunlap, Caddy Vanasirikul, Ryan Cunningham, and Evan Parter produce “The Independent.” Laura Grange, Julia Stuart, Brian Cox, Jodie Turner-Smith, John Cena, Blair Ward, Anders Erdén, Eric Harbert, Bill Kiely, Whitney Moehle, Michael Arrieta, Marc Danon, David Robbins, Lex Miron, Amy Jarvela, Charles Stiefel, Brian O’Shea, Nat McCormick, Jackie Kelman Bisbee, Lance Acord, and Cody Ryder serve as executive producers.

Here is a new first look clip for the movie with Cox and Turner-Smith:
