I think part of the issue is that people in general tend to lack attention spans nowadays so I don't believe this is specifically isolated to classic wrestling. However with that being said, I am attempting to re-watch old WWF on the network and I decided to start with 1988 for some reason. Some of those early 88 prime times are pretty rough. A lot of boring, punching and kicking matches with little to no heat.

I feel like a lot of younger people would be drawn to attitude era Austin.

The Attitude Era is great for people with short attention spans bc it was just a ton of short segments doing crazy shit :lmao

I'm always of the opinion that as an overall product, 1986-1992 WWF was better then 1998-2000 WWF. Less :russo2 and more time for actual storytelling.

Well the PPVs were better and weekly storytelling wasn't near as much of a thing so they were able to build longer stuff easier. Not really disagreeing with you, just stating reasons why as I see them. Attitude Era PPVs were trash, but people bought them bc Raw was great entertainment.

I loved the Attitude Era as a child, and still do, but being older now and rewatching stuff over time Ruthless Aggression era became my favorite. Which has a bit of the feel of the Attitude Era to it, but just a bit better matches.

Wrong about what? You watched WM3 with the rest of us. It was one of the best PPV's ever.

I really love 1997 - 2006 the most for WWE, I think. Especially when it comes to the weekly programming.

And I barely posted during it. I was kidding about being wrong, but no I don't really care about 80s WWF.

Same. I always saw the Ruthless Aggression Era as really just part 2 of the Attitude Era. Just toned down some.

While there was some better matches overall during the 2002-2006 period, the booking and angles were basically the same.

This is why it's my favorite era. :banderas: a lot of the storylines would fit right into the Attitude Era, but the matches were awesome. It's the best of both worlds.

The only thing the places 1999-2001 over the RAE for me is I still prefer Austin, Rock, Mankind to Cena, Batista, JBL.

It honestly depends on the years you got into pro wrestling. If it hooked you, that's the year you'll gravitate you.

That's probably mostly the truth, but for me my favorite stuff happened years after I started watching.

Grim here says 80s is his favorite time period and that's probably two decades before he watched for the first time.
