This one I can see why they cut, because she does mention a line to Ripley later about the air ducts. I would have just preferred it be left in the film because it establishes the story better.

True but like I like it in the film because it helps establish other stuff too.

Burke is really good at manipulating Ripley here. Reiser does a great job with the character.
