Whilst that was good, I'm unsure how you can call it his best work. He has cut better promos than those two recently, and his feud with Cena topped Hardy's imo. CM Punk is one of the stars for me that just keeps getting better. He took the main event push and turned it into gold. I much prefer these promos:

I'd say the matches were better for Punk / Hardy tbh bar MITB the Raw match was good too but NOC + Summerslam felt better to me, plus I loved the twisted dynamic they explored, how the junkie was a role model whilst the clean guy was despicable, it held references to the society we live in and it's plastic idols which I found interesting. Plus it was the first time Punk felt big time in the E, which is something I can't hate on. Summer of Punk grew stale pretty quickly IMO whilst the Straight Edge Savior managed to feel fresh. The respect gimmick was better than the shooter Punk IMO.

Love this, gives a chance for new talent to rise to the top of the roster. I love post-'Mania season for this reason, much fresher.

Although, I hope he's back in time for the house show I'm going to.

To be honest, we only had like a month of shooter Punk before they turned him into cheap-shot kayfabe-breaking smiley face Punk which was completely different. The promo where he is sat in the ring post-suspension is the gimmick that I loved during the Summer of Punk, and he didn't break kayfabe or anything during that promo.

Though I do prefer the respect gimmick, and now I prefer the despicable heel even more. This is why I'm a huge fan of the guy.

His best WWE work IMO was around this time.

That feud was pretty damn sweet, got me back into wrestling.

His feud with Mysterio had some high points too, like this:

Too bad the SES had such terrible booking, could've gone much further. Just god damnit Big Show.

Did we even get a month of truth speaking Punk in all honesty? I think we got around 3 raws before MITB then it just died IMO. It's a shame but him not winning the title could have been the best thing for him, say he was screwed over by Vince while in the STFU he'd have been able to blend the lines so well. You're talking to the chief Punk fan boy here so we'll discuss how much we love him all day if you want, stealing the urn was dope and it's a throwback to the heels of the 80s IMO with 0 redeeming features.

Yeah it was around 3-4 RAW's, and I dunno. I liked the idea of him winning but he returned way too fast. I would have loved it if he didn't return and then Vince sent out WWE cameras to try and locate him to nail him down to a new contract (kind of like the AJ thing with TNA right now), whilst Punk was doing things like invading comic con and other WWE related events outside the ring.

Imagine that. Vince trying to find Punk, Punk basically trolling them in return, and then he randomly turns up and ruins their campaigns they do and runs off into the sunset again. He could have gate crashed one of their anti-bullying campaigns with Vince there and then having to get forcefully removed by the cops say, and you just see Vince being furious. Good way to continue the Punk v Vince feud which was dope imo.

As soon as he returned though things went down hill. He beat Cena, but then he was hoisted into this shitty feud with Kevin Nash of all people, and then eventually jobbed to HHH.

Probably wrote way too much about this... Hashtag...

I think WWE may say he's exhausted after his WM match or some crap like that and a month or so after that he'll come back and face the WWE champion (who in my opinion will be John Cena). That's what I think it's happening, also Undertaker will win him so the streak still going 21-0

The biggest problem I had with him winning was what was his gripe? He was on the magazines, he got his shot he was the man. It's hard for him to not seem hypocritical as a character to complain about change when the company gave him a shot from a kayfab stand point and he's the one who's shoulders change should fall upon you know?

Him not winning the title because of being screwed by Vince would have made sense and probably been better since then Punk wouldn't have to disappear for only a mere week (though he promised forever) before coming back. It also would have put Cena in a tough spot, not really knowing how to feel seeing how he wanted Punk to have a fair match and the only reason he has the title is because of a screw job. Their mentality was likely "strike while the iron is hot", same as bringing him back after only a week even though keeping him away longer had potential as well. Vince has always prided himself on taking calculated risks, I wish he would have gone that route more with the beginning of this angle.

:haha: :pity:

I hope he loses, and then has a 2012 cena style year, so i can get a lot of cheap laughs at the fanboys. I am hoping to see him in the IC picture when he returns.
