Where was the moral outrage when WWE went to China? When last i checked they do the same human rights abuse as much as SA does.
Saw no outrage last event either. They were already killing hundreds of women and gays, but one journalist seems to be where people draw the line and become the moral police.

There was disgust last event, but at the end of the day, they watched the event. And people are gonna watch this event too. Like what's protesting do? For every viewer they lose, they gain a new one too. And they're making millions and I'm in no way condemning what they did, but who are we actually fooling if we were to say I'm not watching the event? Only yourself.

And what do you truly get if you don't watch this event? You go back and watch RAW? Literally the most pointless protest IMHO.

That is typically how this works. He was considered the minority of the situation. People shouldn't be happy about a journalist from the US being tortured or killed so it is understandable. Them killing their own is nothing new and most people don't acknowledge it. Plenty of other countries kill their own, kill gays, rape and kill their own women, but people just ignore it. If I know it is happening, I don't ignore it but I also know there is nothing I can do about it. Saudi and the US are considered allies as well so it is all the more touchy. The country is allies with other countries that don't share the same politics or social standards. You can't make changes for the better through force.

Like I said in the other thread, people will get over it like they always do. Bad things happen, people get angry/upset, time passes, they move on.

Literally the most pointless protest IMHO.
No protest should be viewed as pointless if the person gains something from it, be it moral comfort or something else. A lot of protests seem pointless when so few do it. It is only when large numbers of people protest that others actually pay attention and start thinking and discussing things. That is likely why this is a "proposed" protest to gain numbers and get attention on the subject. The OP isn't the only one who isn't happy about this. Plenty of sites who write on WWE news and whatnot have expressed their uneasiness and unhappiness with what is going on.

I understand both sides. If people watch, I won't hold it against them but if they choose not to, I can understand why.

People generally do not care what shitty things governments get up to in their own countries. Assassination on foreign soil is a bit different, kind of means no one is safe. They could send a hit squad after you although in practice regimes tend to limit foreign soil assassinations to dissidents or their own citizens.

Outside the Stalin years even the USSR rarely did this, it attracts to much heat and generally anyone they want to kill on foreign soil has already spilled their guts.

Saudi Arabia makes China and Syria look progressive and its a toss up between them and North Korea for crappiest country in the world. At least countries that somewhat function. I had a friend whose father was an engineer over their and she was 12 or something and did not cover up and had rocks thrown at her. Hell I would rather go to Iran.

There will be a small outcry, but it wont have any lasting affect on WWE. They signed a contract to agree to put on an event there. They are obligated to do so, and if they back out of this one, then theyll have to back out of Saudi Arabia permanently.
