Saw no outrage last event either. They were already killing hundreds of women and gays, but one journalist seems to be where people draw the line and become the moral police.
That is typically how this works. He was considered the minority of the situation. People shouldn't be happy about a journalist from the US being tortured or killed so it is understandable. Them killing their own is nothing new and most people don't acknowledge it. Plenty of other countries kill their own, kill gays, rape and kill their own women, but people just ignore it. If I know it is happening, I don't ignore it but I also know there is nothing I can do about it. Saudi and the US are considered allies as well so it is all the more touchy. The country is allies with other countries that don't share the same politics or social standards. You can't make changes for the better through force.
There was disgust last event, but at the end of the day, they watched the event.
Like I said in the other thread, people will get over it like they always do. Bad things happen, people get angry/upset, time passes, they move on.
Literally the most pointless protest IMHO.
No protest should be viewed as pointless if the person gains something from it, be it moral comfort or something else. A lot of protests seem pointless when so few do it. It is only when large numbers of people protest that others actually pay attention and start thinking and discussing things. That is likely why this is a "proposed" protest to gain numbers and get attention on the subject. The OP isn't the only one who isn't happy about this. Plenty of sites who write on WWE news and whatnot have expressed their uneasiness and unhappiness with what is going on.
I understand both sides. If people watch, I won't hold it against them but if they choose not to, I can understand why.
