Pro Wrestling PRIDE

August 12, 2008
Capital One Bank Theatre

Westbury, New York

The Pro Wrestling PRIDE logo flashes across the screen as the first Chords of Jane’s Addiction’s Stop plays. A highlight video plays along to the song.

HERE WE GO!
Go! Nowhere!
No One… Gonna Stop Us Now!

Save the complaints,
For a party conversation.
The world is loaded,
It's lit to pop and nobody is gonna stop...

No one...
No one!
No way!
Gonna stop,
Now; go!

Farm people,
Book wavers, soul savers
Love preachers!
Lit to pop and nobody is gonna stop.

No one...

One come a day, the water will run,
No man will stand for things that he had done...
Hurrah!
And the water will run...
One come a day, the water will run,
No man will stand for things that he had done...
Hurrah!
And the water will run...
Will run!
Will run!

Gimmie that!
Gimmie that - your automobile,
Turn off that smokestack
And that goddamn radio
Hum... along with me...
Hum along with the T.V.

No one's
Gonna
Stop!

The lights flash around the arena, and now the camera focuses on the announcer’s booth in the crowd.

Simon – Pro Wrestling PRIDE returns this week with another big show planned, and we’re going to hype it like crazy.

Masters – Joy.
Malenko – The Cash & Money Tag Tournament continues tonight, as we see the final two matches in the first round. We saw the teams of London & Kendrick and Shelley & Sabin advance, and this week we’ll see who they will be facing in the upcoming weeks.
Simon – Also planned tonight, we have Kevin Steen taking on Austin Aries’ choice opponent, getting ready for their big Title Match at Uprising.
Masters – And we also have the leprechaun division battle as Scorpio Sky takes on Jay Lethal.
Malenko – And in the main event, we have Paul Burchill taking on MVP, with CM Punk and Samoa Joe sitting ringside for that. But let’s shut up now, and let the action start right now.

D’Angelis – The following contest is a singles match. It is scheduled for one fall, under a 30 Minute Time Limit!

It’s a Fight plays, and Scorpio Sky walks into the arena, with a big cocky smile on his face. Behind him is super agent Larry Sweeney, throwing business cards out to the fans in attendance.

D’Angelis – Coming to the ring from the City of Angels, weighing in at 190 pounds, Scorpio Sky!

Push It plays to a nice reaction from the crowd, and Jay Lethal busts through the curtain, slapping hands with the fans as he walks down the aisle to the ring.

D’Angelis – His opponent, from Elizabeth, New Jersey weighing 192 pounds, Jay Lethal!

Before the match can even start, Larry Sweeney grabs the microphone.

Larry_Sweeney4.jpg

Sweeney – Haha, right now, all of you Long Island freaks get to experience something all the way from Cali. Someone so amazing that only I can handle his services. That man is Scorpio Sky, and he is your number one contender – no. He’s the future Pro Wrestling PRIDE Lightweight Champion. He is the man that is helping me in my takeover of all the PRIDE Title Belts. Scorpio is nothing but money, baby. Last week, you saw him beat your so called champion Matt Sydal. My client Scorpio Sky is-

Jay Lethal grabs the microphone from Larry Sweeney, cutting off his rant.

Jay_Lethal.jpg

Lethal – Larry, didn’t you realize it took a ref distraction, your help, and Joey Ryan and Scott Lost’s huge moves to get your buddy Scorpio the win? That’s like the equivalent of sending an army out there to do your dirty work. If Scorpio was alone, I’m pretty sure that he’d get destroyed. And that’s a sign that shows that he wouldn’t be the number one contender. So Larry-

Sweeney – First things first. You NEVER take the microphone away from me, got it? I don’t need to hear what you have to say and how much you’re going to complain. A win is a win, and Scorpio earned it, no matter how much you want to protest. And if I can remember clearly, you lost to Sydal, so what can you say about that?

Lethal – But you distracted me.

Sweeney –
Who the hell cares? When it comes down to it, my client won, and you lost to the champion. Which means you are nothing! And if you want that to be proven, Scorpio would be happy to take you out right now.

Scorpio takes the microphone from Sweeney and smashes Lethal right in the head with it. Sweeney leaves the ring and lets Scorpio Sky attack Lethal with no remorse.

Singles Match

Scorpio Sky vs Jay Lethal

*Bell Rings*

As the bell rings (ha ha) Scorpio continues his rabid attack on Jay Lethal. Scorpio rains down forearms and punches to Lethal, weakening him with every single shot. Lethal grabs a rope out of desperation to make the ref count to break Scorpio off of him. After the count of 4, Scorpio stands back up, looking happy at what he just did to Lethal. He waits for Lethal to get back up. Lethal leans against the ropes for leverage, and is struck with a big knee to the gut from Scorpio. Lethal is whipped to the ropes. Once he gets back to the middle of the ring, he is taken down with a big single leg dropkick from Scorpio Sky. Scorpio makes a cocky cover with his foot on Lethal’s chest. 1… Lethal gets his shoulder up easily, and Scorpio now makes a legit cover. 1…2… Lethal kicked out again, and Scorpio slaps the taste out of Lethal’s mouth. Scorpio stands up and taunts Lethal, doing a Black Machismo impression. Lethal is kneeling, but is quickly taken back down to the mat after a flip neckbreaker from Scorpio Sky. Scorpio stands up, and soaks in the crowd’s reaction, loud boos.

After a few seconds of posing, Scorpio makes the cover. 1…2… Lethal gets his shoulder up, and Scorpio asks the ref how the match isn’t over. Lethal slowly starts to go back up to his feet, but is cut off with a hard forearm from Scorpio Sky. Scorpio grabs Lethal by the head, and stops his momentum with a Dragon Sleeper Clutch. Lethal’s neck is bent backwards in a kneeling position. Scorpio has a big smile on his face, pulling back on the head of his opponent. Lethal is able to strike the back of Scorpio, and the submission is getting released slowly. Lethal is now free, but he is lying on the mat. Scorpio tries to drop double knees on the back of Lethal, but Jay inadvertently moves out of the way. Lethal is back up to a full standing position, holding his neck while Scorpio is on the mat. Lethal ignores the pain, and runs the ropes. He hurdles over Scorpio, and uses a Tajiri like slingshot to bounce off the opposite set of ropes. Scorpio is back up but staggering. He’s taken down with a slingshot back elbow from Lethal. After the move, Lethal holds his hands up, letting out a battle cry to the delight of the fans.

Lethal goes back on offense, climbing up to the top rope, about to fall onto Scorpio. Lethal is distracted by Larry Sweeney, and almost loses his balance. This gives time for Scorpio to stand back up, and run at the corner, trying to knock Lethal off of the top rope. Lethal sees him coming, and uses his athleticism to get off of the ropes. He cartwheels somehow with the help of the top rope, to the outside apron. Scorpio quickly motions over to Lethal, and tries to swing at him. Lethal ducks under the right hand, and jumps into the ring, holding the ropes with a flip. He is attacked by Scorpio again, and evades the attack for the third time in a row. Lethal runs the ropes, and leapfrogs an attack from Scorpio again, and springboards off of the ropes. Lethal takes Scorpio off of his feet and to the mat with a springboard cross body press. Scorpio rolls through though, rolling Lethal up. 1…2… Lethal kicks out, and both get up quickly. Lethal ducks under a clothesline attempt from Scorpio. Lethal grabs Scorpio by the waist, and throws him over with a German Suplex. Lethal bridges it over back to his feet, but Scorpio elbows out of it.

Scorpio pushes Lethal away after breaking free of the suplex. Lethal tries to come back to the middle of the ring, but he is tripped when Larry Sweeney pulls his leg. Scorpio pulls Lethal to the middle of the ring, setting up an attack. Sky jumps off the ropes with a split leg springboard, and lands on Lethal with an Arabian Press. Scorpio stands back up, and stops his attack. He leans on the ropes, yelling at a fan booing him. “You know that you’re jealous of this sexiness. The last time I checked fool, I’m the one getting paid to do this, bitch!” Lethal rolls the distracted Scorpio into a pin attempt. 1…2… Scorpio rolls out of it, but looks like he’s in shock. Scorpio is seated on the mat, open for an attack. Lethal runs the ropes, attempting a low dropkick to the body of Scorpio Sky. Sky rolls out of the way easily, and was faking it the whole time. Scorpio stands up and points to his head, having Lethal play into his strategy. Lethal is back up to his feet swiftly though, but is whipped to the ropes. Lethal is stopped with an inverted Atomic Drop. Lethal is then kicked by Scorpio, with a roundhouse kick to the side of the head.

Lethal is still standing, but looks weak. Scorpio scoops Lethal up in a Fireman’s Carry, and spins him down onto the knee with the Ace of Spades. Scorpio makes the cover, not hooking the leg. 1…2… Lethal kicks out, and Scorpio looks disappointed. Scorpio brings Lethal back up to his feet, and grabs him for a back suplex. Lethal fights out of it, and lands behind Scorpio. Lethal runs the ropes, but is stopped with a jab from Scorpio. Lethal is locked in for an Ace Crusher attempt, but he fights out of it, and has Scorpio locked in for a snap suplex. He connects with it, floating over into a pin attempt. 1…2… Lethal kicks out, and he asks the ref why it wasn’t a 3. Scorpio stands back up quickly, and grabs Lethal for a Russian Legsweep. Lethal blocks it, and breaks out of Scorpio’s grasp. Lethal bounces off of the ropes, but is taken to the mat with a high jumping dropkick from his opponent. Scorpio stands back up, and jumps onto the top rope. Lethal stands back up, with Scorpio flying off the top rope at the same time. Lethal catches Scorpio, who was going for a headscissors. But before Lethal could do anything, Scorpio jumps off, pinning Lethal after a Sunset Flip. 1…2… Lethal kicks out.

Scorpio looks very frustrated, and Sweeney urges him to “Finish him off, baby.” Sweeney grabs Lethal off of the canvas, and has him held for the Final Answer. Lethal counters out of it, and pushes Scorpio to the ropes. Lethal takes Scorpio down with a huge spinebuster. Lethal does a cut throat, and walks over to the turnbuckles, and climbs to the top. Lethal jumps off, going for a Diving Headbutt. Scorpio rolls out of harm’s way, making Lethal crash to the mat hard. Lethal is on a knee, holding his head. Scorpio grabs him, and tries to take him down with a DDT. Lethal fights out of it, and takes Scorpio onto his knee with an STO Backbreaker. Lethal follows up with a reverse STO, completing the Lethal Combination. Lethal makes the cover. 1…2… Scorpio kicked out of the pin attempt. Jay stands near Scorpio, waiting for him to get up. Larry Sweeney is now standing on the apron, talking trash to the Lethal One. Lethal walks over to him, and they start to argue. Sweeney jumps off of the apron. Scorpio is now recovered, and pulls Lethal down, pinning him in a rollup. Scorpio puts his foot on the rope illegally for leverage.
1…2…3!

*Bell Rings*

D’Angelis – Here is your winner, Scorpio Sky!

Simon – Another week, another cheap win for Scorpio Sky

Malenko – It’s a trend now, and Lethal should’ve known better, he should’ve kept his eye on Sweeney the whole time
Masters – What an idiot, he fell to Sweeney’s trap again
Simon – It’s just another thing adding to Scorpio’s ego, I’m hoping this doesn’t happen in the title match with Matt Sydal.

Larry Sweeney is in the ring, congratulating Scorpio Sky. Sweeney takes a microphone from a ringside assistant.

Larry_Sweeney4.jpg

Sweeney –
Jay Lethal, what did you think about that? You lost, and there’s nothing you can do about it! What do you have to say for yourself?

Lethal – I…

Sweet ‘N’ Sour takes back the microphone before Lethal could finish his answer.

Sweeney – Who cares? I don’t want to hear from a loser like you. And now, I’m guessing you’re going to complain, because you can’t get a win. You snooze you lose, enough said. So now, Scorpio, take him out.

Scorpio Sky attacks Lethal from behind, and starts to pummel him. Scorpio easily nails the Final Answer on the knocked out Lethal. Suddenly, Matt Sydal runs in from the back. He’s wearing street clothes, with his title belt. He’s about to get revenge on Sweeney and Scorpio, and he slides into the ring. Sweeney and Scorpio exit the ring, walking to the back. Matt Sydal stays in the ring, checking if Lethal is OK.

Malenko – Matt Sydal looks like he had enough. Larry Sweeney has been playing mind games with him for a long time.
Masters – That’s cute, Matt Sydal is acting like Jay Lethal’s mommy.
Simon – We could see something develop here, and it doesn’t look like Sydal’s done with Sweeney and Scorpio yet.

Malenko – But backstage, Leticia Cline is standing by with The Embassy.

Leticia Cline is seen in the interview area, surrounded by Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, Jimmy Rave, and Prince Nana. Leticia begins to speak.

Leticia_Cline5.jpg

Leticia – I’m here now with the Embassy. Last week, Prince Nana, you gave Homicide a challenge. That was to face Jimmy Rave at Exodus. Why did you choose Homicide, and what plans do you have for Jimmy Rave?

Embassy.jpg

Nana – Well, I have big plans for the crown jewel of the Embassy. You ask why I chose Homicide. It’s because he is the biggest loser here in Pro Wrestling PRIDE. He’s dirty and he has no respect for the Embassy. He comes from the streets, and we do not like that. My man Jimmy Rave here, he needs to be featured on MTV, which is what everyone is watching the show for, to see the Embassy. And who better to face than someone like Homicide? Jimmy Rave is going for the gold, and whether it’s the International or World Title, the Embassy is going to get Jimmy whatever the hell he wants. I don’t care what the fat boys watching this say, The Embassy is truly Pro Wrestling PRIDE’s royalty.

Leticia – OK. Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli, you guys are the tag team champions. You set up the Cash & Money Tag Team Tournament just to find a new Number One Contender for your tag belts. What do you think about the tournament, and who do you think will win?

Hero – Leticia, do you really think we care about who’ll win our tournament? It’s not like the winners are going to gain anything, or get a prize. The only thing they’ll be getting is a beating from the Kings of Wrestling. We don’t even care if the team blows by the competition, we’ll be there waiting for them, and we’ll just knock them out. It’s that simple. The Kings of Wrestling are dominant, I’m sure you saw our match at Uprising. We blew through everyone in that gauntlet, and it’s only right that we’re the tag team champs. Even if The Hart Foundation rises from the grave and turn back time, we’d beat them too. These belts are not leaving us for a long time.

Claudio – We also have Scott Lost and Chris Hero to face too, but they’ll just be there to watch us win. Even if Larry Sweeney is there to help them out, they won’t be able to touch the most money making team in wrestling. I know we’re good friends with Sweeney, but this is the Embassy, not Sweet and Sour Incorporated. And The Embassy is on top, with the help of the royal Prince Nana. And at Exodus, when we take them out, I don’t think we will ever see those two losers Scott Lost and Joey Ryan again. The Kings will Reign Supreme, and everyone can bank on that.

Leticia – Prince Nana, any final thoughts before we throw it back to the action?

Nana – The Embassy is the best group in Pro Wrestling PRIDE, and no one can deny that. No one will ever be close to us, and if you can’t beat us, you have to join us. We are royalty, and only we can be so damn great, so dominant. The Embassy is going to take over Pro Wrestling PRIDE, and we’re going to take this place to a whole new level. In the-

Homicide, B-Boy and Hernandez walk into the picture. The Strong Style Thugs stand in front of the corner, talking trash to the members of the Embassy.

Homicide12.jpg

Homicide –
You think you’re dominant Nana? Do you really think those 2 guys can call themselves kings? Man, you’re just a punk ass bitch, Nana. And when I take your lover, I mean boy Jimmy Rave out, I’ll make you shut the hell up. You got that? And don’t even try to be pulling any of that dirty shit in the match, because you will get smashed by Hernandez or The New Age Punisher B-Boy.

Nana –
But you can’t…

Homicide – Shut up! I don’t need to hear none of your BS anymore man. So how about a match for next week. Let’s have you 3 little punks, against the team I got standing wit me right now. How about that?

Nana –
Fine. My team needs a little warm-up for Exodus and that match would be perfect. There’s nothing better than seeing my team win against such animals like you.

The Embassy walk away and they are followed by the camera. They are on their way to their locker room, and are stopped by Cody Rhodes and Lance Hoyt. Commissioner Ricky Steamboat is behind them. Prince Nana sees them first, and looks angry for disturbing them.

Lance_Hoyt10.jpg
Cody_Rhodes5.jpg
Ricky_Steamboat2.jpg

Nana – What the hell do you two curtain jerkers want?

Rhodes – Two weeks ago, our team, The Untamed beat the Age of the Fall, suspending them for a month. And when we won that match, all three of us gained guaranteed title shots at Exodus. I see that you already have a big match planned for the show, but it’s time for us to get what we deserve. We deserve a shot at the tag team titles. So how about it, Nana?

Hero – Whoa, hold on there for a second baby Goldust. Me and Double C don’t need you two in our match, basically, you’re worthless. We don’t want to waste time and give a free shot at these belts. So what you two need to do is get yourselves in the Cash & Money tag team tournament and line up to get a shot. Either that or you’d better be ready to give us a large fee, just like Larry Sweeney. Cody, I’m sure that you can ask Daddy for that money, but it won’t matter; The Kings Will Reign Supreme.

Rhodes – Shut up. What does my father have to do with any of this? Do you really think I’d be that low to do something you would do? I don’t think so. We earned our title shots, and I don’t want to see an opportunity go to waste? Come on, are you scared or something?

Claudio steps up and stands face to face with Rhodes. Ricky Steamboat breaks the two up.

Steamboat – Sorry Kings of Wrestling, but Cody and Lance will get their tag team title shots. I don’t care how many times you can complain, but they are now in the Exodus match. When I put them up against the Fall, I guaranteed them their title shots. I know you two don’t like it, but that’s just how it is. So now we have a four way at Exodus. All I have to say is good luck, because both of you teams might need it.

Prince Nana has a shocked look on his face, and he turns around, disgusted at what just unfolded.

The middle of the ring is now shown.

D’Angelis – The following contest is scheduled for one fall, under a 30 minute time limit! It is a first round contest in the Cash & Money Tag Team Tournament!

Ole plays to a big reaction from the crowd. El Generico busts through the curtain as the chorus plays. Chuck Taylor follows behind him, yelling at little kids faces, and talking to the camera. They slide into the ring, with Generico playing to the crowd, and Chucky T leaning back on a turnbuckle.

D’Angelis – First, at a combined weight of 380 pounds, they are Chuck Taylor and El Generico, Team EGO!

The Boss plays to boos from the fans. Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke walk onto the stage, with fists in the air. They shrug off the fans and walk to the ring. They yell at a couple of fans, and laugh while looking at their opponents.

D’Angelis – Their opponents, coming in at a combined weight of 445 pounds, Shelton Benjamin & Elijah Burke, the New Nation!

TeamEGOvsNewNation.jpg

Cash & Money Tag Team Tournament
First Round
Chuck Taylor & El Generico vs Shelton Benjamin & Elijah Burke

*Bell Rings*

El Generico starts the match for his side, and waits for Shelton Benjamin to get to the middle of the ring. Generico offers a test of strength to start up the match. Benjamin easily out muscles the skinny Generico, forcing him to his knees. Benjamin locks in a wristlock on the left arm of Generico. The Generic Luchadore rolls out of it, and now has the control of the wrist lock. Benjamin does the same, and this time he pulls Generico in for a side headlock. Generico pushes Benjamin away to break the headlock, and to the ropes. Generico is knocked down with a shoulder block from Benjamin. Shelton walks over and makes the early tag to Elijah Burke. Burke comes into the ring and jabs at Generico, making him weaker by the second. Burke tries to finish up with a discus haymaker, but Generico ducks under it. Generico rolls to his corner, and chucks in Smooth Chucky T, Chuck Taylor. Chucky gets into the ring, with Burke running at him for an attack. Taylor sidesteps and sticks his foot out, tripping Burke into the ropes. Taylor stands in the middle of the ring, and raises his hand. He yells “White Power!” several times, mocking the New Nation. “White Power! Oh shit, I’m going to get stabbed later, I take that back. Don’t hurt me, please.”

Shelton Benjamin runs in the ring, and attacks Taylor from behind. Benjamin knocks him off of his feet, and starts punching him relentlessly. The referee forces Benjamin out of the ring. Elijah Burke is standing now, and drops an elbow on Chuck’s back. Burke grabs Taylor, bringing him into a seated position. Burke locks in a grounded abdominal stretch, pulling and straining the midsection of Chucky T. Burke talks to the fans while in the submission, mocking Chuck Taylor and El Generico. Taylor yells, and the fans rally behind him to break out of it. He is starting to break loose, and Burke’s grip starts to get weaker. Taylor turns around, and is free from the submission. He delivers some shots to Burke, and the two battle to their feet. Taylor dizzies Burke with some forearms, and runs the ropes. Chucky T knocks Burke off of his feet with a big clothesline. Taylor tries to reach to his corner for a tag, but he’s still holding his midsection after the abdominal stretch. Burke grabs him by the leg, trying to cut off the tag. Chucky still crawls, and comes closer to the corner. He uses the ropes to hold on and tag in El Generico.

Generico comes in with a springboard, taking Burke out with a flying springboard missile dropkick. Generico runs to the opposite corner, and pushes Shelton Benjamin off of the apron. Generico holds his hand up and lets out an “Ole!” While he was getting the crowd behind him, Elijah Burke stood up and took him down with a German Suplex. Burke rolls it over for another, and bridges it into a pin attempt. 1…2… Generico gets a shoulder up, and rolls backwards to his feet. Generico flies at Burke, attempting a leg lariat. Burke ducks under it, forcing Generico to crash to the mat. Generico holds his back, and Burke starts to stomp on that area of his body. Generico backs away to a corner, but the wrong one. Generico is stuck in the corner of the New Nation, and Elijah Burke tags in Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin and Burke double team Generico, stomping at him simultaneously. Burke backs up and takes Generico out with a running knee strike. Benjamin now has Generico held, and is about to throw him out of the corner. Generico holds the ropes to prevent that from happening, and back flips to his feet.

Generico is still cornered, and is taken out of that corner with a whip to the opposite ropes from Benjamin. Shelton grabs him while he was running and throws him with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Generico lands hard again, and Shelton follows up with a pin attempt. 1…2… The Generic Luchadore raises his shoulder to avoid the loss. Benjamin starts to taunt the ref, telling him it’s because he’s black. Benjamin grabs Generico by the mask, and brings him up to his feet. Benjamin hooks him for a suplex, but it’s blocked. Benjamin tries it again, but Generico pushes Benjamin away. Generico ducks under a clothesline try from Benjamin, and Generico runs the ropes. Generico takes Shelton down with a spinning wheel kick. Generico further weakens Benjamin with a standing moonsault. The Generic Luchadore sees Chuck Taylor, and crawls, trying to tag him in. Shelton Benjamin sees Generico crawling, and pulls him back to the middle of the ring. Generico fights back, grabbing Shelton’s head and jumping in the air. Generico drives Shelton on his head with a Tornado DDT. Generico makes a lunge to his corner, tagging in Smooth Chuck Taylor.

Chuck gets into the ring, and knocks Shelton with a dropkick. Taylor stands up and knocks Shelton to a seated position with a snapmare. Chucky backs up and kicks Shelton in the back. Taylor now dropkicks Shelton in the face to knock him to the mat. Taylor stands up and nods his head, pointing to someone in the crowd. Chuck Taylor pulls out his invisible hand grenade, and says that someone’s going to explode. Chucky throws invisible grenade into the crowd, and drops his elbow on Shelton, making the cover after. 1…2… Elijah Burke breaks up the pin attempt, and Taylor now tries to defend himself from Burke. Taylor comes back at Burke by distracting him with words, and kicks him in the balls. Chucky knocks Burke out of the ring quickly with a running big boot. Taylor turns around, and Shelton is running right at him. Chucky ducks under the clothesline, making Shelton bounce off the ropes. Chuck jumps in the air for a dropkick, but Shelton holds onto the ropes. Shelton walks to Chuck Taylor, and knocks Taylor silly with a loud superkick. Shelton just laughs, and makes the cover on Chucky. 1…2…. Taylor kicks out.

Shelton tags in Elijah Burke, with Chucky T still lying on the mat. Burke stands in the corner, and watches as Chuck gets up to his feet. Burke walks over to Taylor and tries to knock him out with a set of punches. Taylor ducks under a left hand hook, and takes Burke down with a back suplex. Chuck scurries to his corner and tags in El Generico. He jumps into the ring over the ropes and lets out an Ole. Burke is back up, and Generico whips him to the corner. He runs at him for the Ole Kick, but misses as Burke rolls to the middle of the ring. Generico is now cornered, and Burke pulls down his kneepads for the Elijah Express. Burke comes running, but Generico moves out of the way too. Generico walks back to the corner, and starts to set Burke up for the Brainbustaaahhh. Burke is seated on the top turnbuckle, but he comes back at Generico with some hard punches to the jaw. Generico is distracted by Shelton Benjamin, who is in the ring now. Chuck Taylor comes into the ring to stop Shelton, but he’s knocked out with a Dragon whip. Generico turns around to look at Shelton, and is attacked by Burke. Elijah backs up and runs right back at the corner. He connects with the Elijah Express. Shelton wants in, and hits the Paydirt on Generico out of the corner. Burke makes the cover on the knocked out Generico.
1…2…3!

*Bell Rings*

D’Angelis – Here are your winners, Shelton Benjamin & Elijah Burke!

Simon – The action was hot, and Benjamin & Burke got a good victory. They move on to next week’s semifinals.
Malenko – That was a really tough loss for Generico and Taylor, it looked like they wanted the win. The New Nation was just too powerful in the long run.
Masters – Chuck Taylor’s going to get stabbed, I’m feeling it. Either that, or he’s going to get owned in a rap battle or something like that.
Simon – Paul Burchill is backstage, and he has a statement to make.

Paul Burchill is seen sitting in his locker room, stretching his arms out, in his ring gear and a t-shirt.
[

Paul_Burchill5.jpg

Burchill – For the last couple of weeks, MVP has been nothing but a pain in the ass. At Uprising, the bastard screwed me out of my win. He’s nothing but a bottom feeder, someone that hasn’t fought for anything. He’s been given everything, and he’s never fought like how I have. He hasn’t proved a thing here in PRIDE, and someone like him has nothing to do in the World Title Scene. I don’t know why this guy keeps on coming back. He just wants more pain from the British Bruiser. I don’t need a distraction on my way to the top, but for the longest time, MVP has been hanging on to me, wanting my success.

He stands up, and paces back and forth.

Burchill –
And tonight, I get another chance at him again. This time, I’ll be sure to take him out. I’ll shut him up while I’m at it too. With the big match at Exodus, he will be a non-factor after I finish him off later tonight. My road to the title has just begun, and MVP is just a road block. After I take him out, I’ll be ready to show CM Punk and Samoa Joe why I deserve to be in the big title match, and why I should be the next PRIDE Champion. I want to prove everyone wrong, and whether if I have to punch and claw my way through it, or go to the air, the British Bruiser, Paul Burchill, will be at the top of Pro Wrestling PRIDE. And as MVP would say, you can call that money.

----------INTERMISSION----------

Aries – Kevin Steen, you asked for a challenge from me for this week, and now you’re going to get it. You said that you want to prove why you’re the number one contender, why you deserve a shot at my belt. Tonight, you’re going to do just that, and it doesn’t matter if you win or lose tonight, when you get in the ring with me, you’re going to fall short. And while you’re taking a beating from your opponent, I’ll just be watching it all unfold. So without further ado, let me introduce your opponent. He is the hottest young prospect in wrestling today. He is explosive, he is the powerhouse, maybe more powerful than you. Your opponent for tonight is Erick Stevens!

*Bell Rings*

D’Angelis – Here is your winner, Kevin Steen!

Kevin Steen celebrates his victory, but Austin Aries slides in the ring. Steen jumps off of a turnbuckle and sees Aries in the middle of the ring. The two face off, and stare at each other intensely. Aries holds his title up in the air, and Steen and Aries exchange words. Aries backs up, and looks like he’s going to leave the ring. Suddenly, Erick Stevens attacks Steen from behind, and turns him around. Stevens lifts him up, and nails the Doctor Bomb! Aries and Stevens stand around Steen, yelling at him. Aries and Stevens leave the ring, holding their hands up in the air, to the dismay of the crowd.

Simon – What a cheap way for Aries to get into Steen’s head, having Stevens take him out after his win.

Malenko – Aries looked like he was going to be fair with Steen, but apparently that didn’t happen.
Masters – It’s just some mind games, that’s all. That’s what makes a champion great, not some good matches.
Simon – How do you know? I don’t remember you being champion, and if you were, you were probably horrible.

The backstage area is now shown, and Rocky Romero, Davey Richards and Rocky Romero are seen talking in the back. They’re leaning on a wall, talking trash about the Vulture Squad.

NRC.jpg

Romero – Man, you should’ve seen what I did to Lena, I got my Azucar on, got her hot, and the rest is history.
Strong – That’s weak. That chick is ugly, the Human Tornado tries to defend her. I wouldn’t even wanna be near that fool Tornado.
Richards – Remember last week when we beat the Vulture Squad’s asses down? That was great, now we need to show those stupid fans how much that team really does suck.
Romero – That was fun, there’s so much more I wanted to do, but I’m the bigger man, so I saved it for the next time we meet.
Richards – And they have their tag match next up too. I can’t wait for that, we have to do something there.
Strong – You have to beat Tornado and JTG down, they don’t even deserve to be in that tourney man. But I can’t even say how much I hate Jack Evans. He walks around with his stupid little do-rag and his fake accent, it’s not even funny anymore. He’s someone that I want to break in half.

Ricky Steamboat walks by quickly, waving at the NRC. Strong grabs Steamboat by the collar and starts to talk to him, with an intense tone to his voice.

Strong – Commissioner Ricky Steamboat, we 3 are begging for this match to happen. For the longest time, the Vulture Squad has been the most annoying and the most worthless group we’ve seen. That little punk Jack Evans took me out when I could’ve won the contendership to the International Title. So come on, we need this match for Exodus. It doesn’t matter what stipulation it is, we want to take them out any way we can. We want to show everyone why the No Remorse Corps is the best Pro Wrestling PRIDE has to offer, and show why those little fake thugs are nothing but glorified punching bags. So come on Dragon, give us the match.

Ricky_Steamboat2.jpg

Steamboat – Well, I…

Romero –
Hurry up and give us the match, I have alcohol to drink and girls to get with. I don’t need you stuttering on your words.

Steamboat – I already had this planned after seeing the brawl you had last week. So in two weeks at Exodus, I have two matches for you. First, it’ll be a tag team match, Richards and Romero, against the Human Tornado and JTG. And the next match will have Roderick Strong against Jack Evans. Both of these matches will be under No DQ rules. Are you happy now?

Strong –
Perfect. And watch what we’re going to do, we’ll show no mercy. And when we beat those little bitches, all three of us need to get some title shots.

The NRC walks away, to their locker room, still talking trash about the Vulture Squad.

The camera now shows the middle of the ring.

D’Angelis – The following contest is a first round match in the Cash & Money Tag Team Tournament! It is scheduled for one fall, under a 30 minute time limit!

Trauma Squad plays, to a nice reaction from the crowd. JTG and the Human Tornado walk to the ring, with Julius Smokes walking in front of him.

D’Angelis – First, weighing in at a combined weight of 415 pounds, the Human Tornado and JTG, the Vulture Squad!

Copacabana blasts through the speakers, and the fans stand on their feet. Colt Cabana and Ace Steel walk through the curtain, receiving a big ovation from the fans. Cabana has a big smile on his face, while Ace Steel walks behind him with a serious look.

D’Angelis – Their opponents, from Chicago, Illinois at a combined weight of 450 pounds, Ace Steel and Colt Cabana, the Second City Saints!

*Bell Rings*

JTG and Colt Cabana start the match, circling each other in the middle of the ring. They slap hands as a sign of respect before getting in a lockup. Colt Cabana grabs JTG in a wrist lock, but JTG gains control right away. Colt Cabana drops to his back, and spins, going nowhere to the delight of the crowd. Cabana rolls over and stands up, now taking the control of the wristlock. Cabana twirls under JTG like a tango dance, and tosses him to the ropes. JTG knocks Cabana down with a shoulder block, and lets Julius Smokes let out a Yeah trifecta from ringside. JTG tags in The Human Tornado, to the delight of the crowd. Colt is waiting for him, and he welcomes Tornado to the ring. Cabana extends a hand, and Tornado shakes it. Cabana has the hand held, and throws Tornado to the mat with an arm whip. Tornado gets up quickly and looks kind of upset. Tornado fires a right hand at Cabana, and strikes him in the jaw. Tornado backs up and dances, but after, follows up with another punch. He does the same, but when he goes for the right hand, Cabana ducks under it. Colt now dances, doing the Charleston. Tornado now stops Cabana and pulls off his own moves.

We now have ourselves a dance off. Tornado and Cabana are going back and forth with pretty interesting dance moves. Tornado and Cabana are at a stand off, and Jack Evans slides into the ring from the outside. He tells the two of them to stop and just watch. Evans is in the middle of the ring and starts to pull off a B-Boy set. He starts with a Coin Drop to the floor, followed by windmills. Evans now transitions them into flares, followed by a side spin. Evans now kips up to his feet, and finishes with a foot held Gainer. The crowd is wowing in excitement, and they give Evans a standing ovation. Evans slides out of the ring, slapping hands with the fans. In the ring, Cabana and Tornado decide to wrestle. Cabana locks Tornado in a headlock, but Tornado fights out of it, putting Cabana in his own lock. Cabana pushes Tornado to the ropes. Tornado leapfrogs Cabana, and bounces off the other set of ropes. He now ducks under an attack from Colt, and bounces off the ropes again. Cabana runs at Tornado, but the pimp drops to his back, with Colt getting thrown over with a monkey flip. Tornado stands up, and dances for the crowd.

Cabana crawls over to his corner, and before Tornado could stop him, he tags in Ace Steel. Steel gets into the ring with no reaction, taking Tornado down with a running forearm smash. Steel makes the cover on Tornado. 1…2… Tornado kicks out, and he stands up rapidly. Steel kicks Tornado in the gut, and takes him over with a suplex. Steel makes the cover again. 1…2… Tornado kicked out once more, and the veteran Ace goes back to work. He locks in a half crab with a knee on the back. Cabana comes into the ring, dropping his leg on the back of Tornado’s head. Steel now turns Tornado over for a rollup. 1…2… Tornado kicks out again. Steel still gives Tornado no room to recover, grabbing him and putting him in a knee lock. Tornado yells in pain, being grounded by the veteran. Tornado tries to reach a rope, but his long arms are unable to. Tornado uses his free leg to kick Steel in the side of the head, which breaks the submission. Steel still won’t give up, trying to grab Tornado as he stands up. Tornado limps, but hobbles on his strong leg to his corner, tagging in JTG.

JTG comes into the ring, and takes Steel down with a clothesline. Steel stands up quickly, but is taken down again after another clothesline. JTG runs the ropes, and drops his elbow on the face of Ace. He makes the cover, not hooking the leg. 1…2… Steel kicks out, and JTG listens to advice from manager Julius Smokes. Steel stands up as this unfolds, and grabs J by the waist about to drop him down with a back suplex. JTG breaks out of it with a go behind, and brings Steel down again with a neckbreaker. JTG stands up, after playing to the crowd. He goes to a corner and climbs to the top rope. Steel stands up, and sees JTG flying at him. Tornado connects with the move, but Steel rolls through for a rollup. 1…2… The Human Tornado dives into the ring, breaking the pin attempt. Steel is up, and he tags in Colt Cabana. The two help each other to take Tornado out of the ring with a double clothesline. Cabana now turns around, only to see JTG charging at him. Cabana grabs him and drives him down onto the knee with a backbreaker. JTG leans against the turnbuckles, giving Colt an opportunity for a move. He runs at the corner, sandwiching JTG with the Flying Butt Butt.

Cabana has the advantage now, with JTG still in the corner. Colt sets J up on the top turnbuckle. JTG is hooked in for a superplex. J fights back with right hands and Cabana has to let go of The Vulture Squad member. JTG jumps over Classic Colt, and takes him down with a sunset flip powerbomb, into a pin. 1…2… Cabana gets his shoulder up, and both men are down on the mat, catching their breath. JTG stands up first, and tries to make the tag to the Human Tornado. Colt grabs JTG, stopping him from making the tag. Cabana is hugging the leg of JTG, but J stands up. He drags him and Cabana to his corner, and tags in the Human Tornado. Tornado pulls Colt off of JTG’s leg, and brings him to his feet. Tornado whips Cabana to the ropes, and he also runs off of the other pair. Tornado takes the bigger Colt off of his feet with the Pimp Pounce. Tornado does an Alpha Male taunt, and stands in the corner. Ace Steel runs across the apron and bashes Tornado’s head into the corner, which dizzies Tornado. Colt runs at the corner, and now weakens Tornado with a running double knee strike. Tornado falls to the mat face first after getting smashed by the much bigger Colt Cabana.

Cabana stands up, and is full of energy. He climbs up to the middle rope, waiting for Tornado to stand up. The tired and weak Human Tornado is up after a couple of moments. Cabana flies at him. Tornado moved to the left unintentionally, forcing Colt to miss his flying shoulder block. Colt lands on his feet, but is taken out with a spin kick. Tornado and Colt are both on the mat, and Tornado crawls closer to his corner. He tags JTG into the match. J tries to grab Colt, but he’s too late, as Ace Steel slaps the hand of Colt for the tag. Steel comes into the ring, with both he and JTG running at each other. They both are knocked down after hitting each other with clotheslines. Both stand up quickly, still relatively fresh. JTG walks over to Steel, and tries to scoop him up. Steel breaks out of it, chopping JTG in the chest in the process. Colt Cabana comes in the ring to help his partner. Cabana and Steel whip JTG to the ropes, and bring him down with a double drop toe hold. Colt grabs the legs of JTG and locks him in the Chicago Crab. Steel helps out with a Camel Clutch, and JTG is yelling in pain, locked in two submission holds.

JTG is about to tap, but The Human Tornado flies into the ring, taking Cabana off of his feet with a flying ninja kick off of the top rope. Tornado follows up by running the ropes and breaking Ace Steel’s submission with a low dropkick to the face. Tornado stands up, but holds is previously injured knee. He and Ace Steel start to punch each other, but Colt Cabana comes in to take over on the attack of Tornado. Cabana and Tornado are brawling near the ropes. Tornado gets the advantage, and kicks Colt in the face with a dropkick. Cabana falls out of the ring after the move. Tornado runs the ropes shakily, but is cut off by Ace Steel, who kicks him in the gut. Steel tries to bring him down with a neckbreaker, but Tornado counters out of it, taking JTG down with the DND! Tornado isn’t the legal man, and now sees Colt Cabana standing up on the outside. He jumps over the ropes, and flies out of the ring, landing on Cabana. The fans are on their feet. JTG is finally up, and sees Ace Steel. JTG grabs him, and is about to take him out with the Bank Roll. Steel counters out of it, and pushes JTG away. Suddenly, Rocky Romero, Roderick Strong and Davey Richards run in from the crowd, and attack Jack Evans and Julius Smokes. JTG takes his attention off the match and tries to stop the mayhem. Ace Steel seizes the opportunity and grabs him. Steel lifts him up and hits the Spinal Shock! He makes the cover.
1…2…3!

D’Angelis – Here are your winners, Colt Cabana and Ace Steel!

Malenko – I had a feeling it was coming, and the NRC came to make the Vulture Squad lose that match.
Simon – It’s another chapter in the build up to their match. They already showed why they hate the Vultures before, and they took them out again.

Masters – The NRC is awesome, that’s all that needs to be said.

Malenko – But I’m sure the Vulture Squad will try to get their revenge in their match in two weeks.

The NRC continues their beat down of Smokes and Evans on the outside. The Human Tornado is up, and in the ring. He dives out, landing on everyone with a tope dive over the top rope. JTG is up, but holding his neck. He goes to the outside and starts his attack on the NRC members. The brawl becomes too wild, and security comes in to break the two teams up.

Masters – Let them fight.

Simon – It’s the second week in a row they’ve fought each other, things could really have escalated if they did fight.

Malenko – I’m really…

Suddenly, the lights go black, and only the PRIDE show screens are lit to the side of the entrance stage. The picture plays, with silence throughout the building.

Malenko – This could be one of the things that changes Pro Wrestling PRIDE, I still have no clue who or what it is.

Masters – Disco Inferno, baby.
Simon – Even if I did know what the answer is, I’d still be surprised to see what happens.
Masters – Disco’s going to set the world on fire. Or it could be the Shockmaster, his debut should be AMAZING.

Burchill is stuck near the ropes, and MVP places Burchill’s weak leg on the bottom rope, about to weaken it further. MVP jumps up, and is about to drop a knee on his rope hung leg. Burchill moves his leg out of the way, and MVP falls on nothing but canvas. MVP is on his knees, trying to recover from the damage he took with the last move. Burchill is up and he rolls MVP to his back. He sets him up, and catapults him to the corner. MVP’s chest impacts the corner turnbuckle, and he’s now holding the rope to protect himself. He mercilessly takes Burchill out with the Player’s Boot right to the face. Burchill crumples to the mat face first after the move. MVP drags Burchill to the center of the ring and makes the cover. 1…2… Burchill gets the shoulder up forcefully. MVP goes back to attacking the leg again, and locks in a half Boston Crab. Burchill is able to fight back quickly, and uses his strength to crawl to the ropes. He grabs the bottom rope, and gets the break. MVP stands up, and pulls Burchill back up to his feet. MVP brings knee strikes to Burchill’s face, and hooks him for a suplex. Burchill blocks it, and performs his own fisherman suplex on MVP, with a bridge. 1…2… MVP kicks out. Burchill asks the ref why it wasn’t a 3, and while this was unfolding, MVP grabs Burchill, and rolls him up, holding the tights. 1…2… Burchill kicked out at the last possible moment, breaking out of the cheap tactic.

Burchill and MVP stand up, and they go at each other. Burchill chops MVP, and whips him to the ropes. Burchill throws him over with a belly to belly suplex. MVP is up again, and he comes charging at Burchill, who has his back turned. MVP clotheslines Burchill in the back of the head, and grabs him by the waist. MVP easily throws Burchill overhead with a German Suplex. MVP bridges it over quickly, and is about to connect with another one. Burchill elbows out of it this time, and the two competitors separate. Burchill catches his breath, and is grabbed by MVP. Porter grabs him by the head, and tries to set up the Playmaker. Burchill grabs MVP’s free leg, and puts him in a powerbomb position before he could nail his finisher. MVP punches out of this, and he slips out of Burchill’s grasp. Porter and Burchill are mercilessly punching at each other, and out of nowhere, Burchill is poked in the eye. Burchill falls to his knee, and Porter runs the ropes. He tries the Player’s Boot, but it’s ducked. Burchill stands up, still a little wobbly on his weak leg. MVP is distracted, looking at a fan in the crowd. Burchill turns MVP around, and has him set for the C-4. To block the attempt, MVP thrusts his knee to the balls of the British Bruiser. Burchill falls to the mat, weakened after the shot to his jewels. MVP has a very angry look on his face, and spits in the face of Burchill, and slaps him as a sign of disrespect. MVP backs up, and delivers a kick to the balls again, and Burchill collapses to the mat. The referee calls for the end of the match.

*Bell Rings*

D’Angelis – As a result of a disqualification, Paul Burchill has been declared your winner!

Simon – Once again, MVP doesn’t look like he cares.
Malenko – Burchill has to be weak for the Exodus match already, his knee is probably a mess. Even MVP, he hurt his arm a little too.
Masters – Who cares what MVP did? He did what he wanted to do, and he beat Burchill silly. I’d say it was a job well done.

MVP continues to assault Burchill, stomping at his knee now. MVP stops his attack, and grabs a microphone.

MVP3.jpg

MVP – Paul Burchill, I don’t care about you. You’re nobody, so what’s there to prove? I’m the highest paid, most popular, most athletic, and highest rated athlete here, in Pro Wrestling PRIDE. Do I really need to say anything else? I don’t need you to fight me, I don’t need you to even use as a dummy. I’m the rightful champion, and Samoa Joe and CM Punk know that. They fear the wrath of the Franchise Player. And Paul, you can see that you fear me.

The Champ is Here plays, and Samoa Joe and CM Punk walk to the ring, in street clothes. They look like they’re going to bust MVP’s ass. Both grab a mic. They slide into the ring, and the fans are cheering wildly for them.

Samoa_Joe5.jpg
CM_Punk18.jpg

Joe – Hey, MVP.

MVP – What?

Joe –
Boo.

MVP turns around and sees Joe and looks scared like a little girl.

Joe – Wow, and you say that I fear you? It sounds like you’re scared of your own shadow.

MVP – Come on man, you know I was just playing. But do you really think you’ll be champ after Exodus?

Punk – MVP, to be honest with you, I don’t even think you stand a chance. But I do agree with you on Joe not being champ, because the belt will be going to me.

Joe – Punk, are you serious? I mean come on, as much as you think you’re going to win, let’s look at the facts. I beat you already. How can you say that won’t change?

Punk –
Because we have this guy, the self proclaimed Franchise Player in the mix. I beat him already, and you never know what might happen. I might take you out, and pin him. Or I’ll pin big tough guy who just got his balls kicked in over there.

Joe – You know, you make a pretty good point there. But Punk, I know you and me can agree on this. Let’s make it a guarantee, MVP won’t win the match.

Punk – Hell yeah. I mean, if the guy can’t even win a match without a cheap tactic, how do you think he’ll do against us?

MVP – Hold up there. Who gives a damn if I throw in a cheap tactic? A win is a win. And you can’t even hold a penny to me, because you don’t make as much money as I do. You two will never be athletic as I am, and that is fact!

Punk - But you’re still going to lose. I don’t care how much money you make, if you can’t back up your trash talk, you’re nothing. You make so many guarantees, so many promises. But every single time you try to do something, you fail.

MVP – But…

Joe – Are you choking or something?

MVP – Shut up Joe, you look like you’re going to choke on your own stomach. And Punk, you’re pathetic. I mean, just look at you. You’re not tough. Just because you have all those tattoos, that doesn’t make you tough at all.

Punk –
What? Do you want to test me? Because I’ll be glad to, if you’re not scared. Come on, right here, right now. We don’t even have to wrestle, let’s fight, me and you.

Punk holds fists up, but MVP just shrugs it off. Suddenly, MVP is knocked down from behind. Paul Burchill is back up, and is pummeling MVP. A brawl begins to break out. Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke run into the ring, and they start brawling with Joe and Punk. Security comes into the ring after a few seconds, trying to break up the brawl.

The chaos is cut off, as the show comes to an end. A highlight music video is shown, played along to Breakout by Miley Cyrus.

BM: Main event- a good amount of action, even though it ended in a DQ it was still a good match.
WM: N/A all the matches were good
BP: I really liked the promo that closed out the show
WP: once again N/A
AC: You're Booker of Bookers for a reason and this show showed it. BTW Dance offs = ratings.
Plug: Don't forget to check out War Zone of Sunday.

BM: MVP vs. Birchill. It was a hell of a match back and fourth alot. Really deserved the spot of ME, good job on pushing both of them, I like what both have been doing for the past couple weeks.

WM: Trust me, you are a top match writer on IWF, you don't write bad matches.

BP: Yup, closer did it for me, great preview for Exodus.

WP: Birchill's in the locker room. Don't get me wrong it was great, I just hate that bastard.

AC: Another great show. Exodus is going to rule, can't wait to see who emerges as PRIDE Champ.

BM: MVP vs. Burchill This was a great match and a good half preview of the Exodus main event.

WM: None at all

BP: The closer was in character all around and really advanced the Exodus Main Event.

WP: None

AC: Exodus is going to be huge. The main event is so up in the air it's hard to pick a winner. Kevin Steen vs. Austin Aries will be an instant classic. The Cash and Money Tag Team Tournament Finals will be awesome whichever two teams are involved (I'm hoping for MCMG vs. Londrick). Great read.

BM: Burchill/MVP. You showed some good offesne from both guys and it showed they deserved to be in the Exodus ME. DQ doesn't drag it down since it continued the feud and neither guy lost anything by losing

WM: N/A

BP: I also liked the closer, you're building this ME up to be something epic

WM: N/A

AF: Your Booker of Bookers for a reason as we can see. I'm loving the Cash and Money Tournament, it's awesome since I love tournaments lol. I'm actually hoping for Cabana & Steel to go all the way

Sweeey/Lethal promo: Nice start to the show, as we had Larry Sweeney in character like always. Lethal played a little face role, Nice little way to build up the next match, as well as Sweeney as a heel.

Scorpio Sky vs Jay Lethal: Nice heel tactics to start this off, with the mic shot from Scorpio. He played the heel pretty well throughout, with that argument with the fan, as well as the cheap ending sticking out.

Sweeney promo: Nice little heel promo. The attack from Scorpio on Lethal, with the run in from Sydal helps that feud along.

Embassy/Strong Style Thugs/Untamed promo: Great long promo, which was in character throughout (well except for Cody, who doesn't have a character >_>). A typo in there, with Claudio saying they'll be defending the belts against Scott Lost and Chris Hero, but aside from that the rest was great.

El Generico/Chuck Taylor vs Elijah Burke/Shelton Benjamin: TBH I didn't see Burke and Benjamin going through, but what can I say? You shocked me. A nice commanding finish to make them look strong headed into the next round. I don't see them going any further than that though.

Paul Burchill promo: Nice face promo, making Burchill look like a real warrior. Good hype for both Exodus and the main event.

Austin Aries promo: Good promo to introduce CHOO CHOO!

Kevin Steen vs Erick Stevens: Very good match, and was a lot more competetive than I thought it would be. I honestly thought that Steen would just roll Stevens. Awesome chain of moves with a lot of dodging for the finish, leaving into the Package Piledriver. Attack afterwards was good, and I like how you are using Aries as a heel well here.

No Remorse Corps/Steamboat promo: It all seemed good except Rocky Romero. he just seemed a bit forced to me. I'm digging the faction wars you have, and this gives us two cool matches for Exodus.

Second City Saints vs The Vulture Squad: Well you could tell that the Saints would win, due to the previous promo, so it kinda spoiled the match for me. It was still good, and I really liked how you used Steele as the veteran. Would have been better if I didn't know the result, but meh.

2 Weeks: If it's Dragon then you're the man. By reading it, I notice a lot of HBK references. So I guess it is either someone trained by him (like Danielson), or the big debut of him, which would be huge in your type of BTB.

Paul Burchill vs MVP: Very physical type of match up, much like their match back at Exodus. The finish was kinda cheap, but it builds MVP up as a dirty wrestler. The assult after the match helped show that too.

Closing promo: I didn't really like it, I mean faces should be the underdogs IMO, and this has made MVP the major underdog. Sets up a nice six man tag though for next week.

AC: Another good show, match wise you delivered like always. I liked all but one promo, and that was the closing one, so that's a good effort. Things keep building well, and I think Exodus should be huge.

BM: MVP/Burchill- Fantastic Match. Back and Fourth Action with nobody giving in. PPV Grudge Match Quality easily. Nice one.

WM: N/A

BP: Closing One- In Character, served it's purpose well and pushed the Main Event of Exodus to be one hell of a match.

WP: N/A

AI: Check out WCW-The Reprise when you can and reviewif you want.

BM: Burchill vs MVP was good, but I enjoyed more Cabana and Steel's victory. I read the show just after catching SD, so it matched with Scotty Goldman's debut and stuff...and, it was a good tag teag match that continues fairly nice the tournament.

WM: None really.

BP: Really the closing the promo. It put the situation between the 4 really over and I am curious on who will win the match. Great work on the hype for this.

WP: None, some were of people I am not familiar with, so I can't really judge.

AC: I noticed that you are trying to fill the "Stable Promo Segment" that AOTF had with other stables like The Embassy and No Remorse. I do think the BTB is missing Tyler Black, DH Smith and my man Jimmy Jacobs. I am really waiting for their returns.

I am curious on the return/debut angle. I'll be reviewing.

PRIDE - The Refresher

PRIDE3.png

Pro Wrestling PRIDE
The Refresher

-Pro Wrestling PRIDE has been on an indefinite hiatus for what feels like ten years, but now it is back, and ready to reclaim what it lost. Things will be continuing just as they left off, one show before the second MTV Special, Exodus. Just to refresh your memory, the following are hot topics in the Pro Wrestling PRIDE world.

-Three shows ago, the Main Event for Exodus was set in stone. It will be PRIDE Champion Samoa Joe vs CM Punk vs MVP vs Paul Burchill. The past couple of weeks have shown the cockiness of MVP. During a tag team match against CM Punk and Samoa Joe, the self proclaimed “Franchise Player” abandoned his partner Paul Burchill to be pinned. On the last show, he was in a match with Burchill, and intentionally disqualified himself, saying that the only win that would matter “will be when there’s a title on the line.” CM Punk and Samoa Joe have continued their competitive rivalry, and Punker wants to prove that he can beat Joe fair. What will be coming up for all four competitors in the big Exodus match?

-PRIDE International Champion Austin Aries will be facing Mr. Wrestling Kevin Steen at the MTV Special. Steen won an amazing fatal four way match to earn the number one contender’s spot. But for the past few shows, Aries has been playing some mind games with his challenger. After Steen asked for a challenge, Aries gave him Erick Stevens to fight in the ring. Steen was victorious in the match, but he was attacked by both Aries and Stevens after the match. Will Steen overcome the International Champion’s interesting set of mind games?

-Things also escalated between Jack Evans and Roderick Strong after the number one contender four-way. After the match, Roderick Strong brutally beat down Jack Evans in the parking lot, saying it was his fault he lost the match. These two former tag team partners have been attacking and confronting each other from then on, and things will only come to a head at Exodus. Ricky Steamboat announced No Disqualifications matches in the No Remorse Corps vs Vulture Squad series. Jack Evans will be Roderick Strong in what could lead to a murder, and Rocky Romero & Davey Richards will try to take out JTG & the Human Tornado? Which squad will prove to be stronger, the high flying Vulture Squad, or the hard hitting No Remorse Corps?

-The Pro Wrestling PRIDE Tag Team Title Scene is insane. Having shown their dominance in the Tag Gauntlet at Uprising, Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli, the champions, want to face their first challenge. To find the right contenders, they organized the Cash & Money Tag Team Tournament, an 8 team tournament to determine who they would face at Exodus. The tournament will continue at the next show, with the final four teams set. The finals will take place at Exodus, and the tournament winners will have to wrestle again at Exodus in the title match.
-On the way, 2 more teams were added to the PRIDE Tag Title match, making things a four way tag team match.
-Cody Rhodes & Lance Hoyt gained their title shot after defeating the Age of the Fall at the first show after Uprising, Show 11. They earned the title shot by Ricky Steamboat’s orders, helping to get the OTF suspended. The Untamed have been waiting for the tag title shot, and they want to dethrone the Kings quickly. Will they have the fight to continue their hot streak?
-Joey Ryan & Scott Lost. Super Agent Larry Sweeney has tried everything to help his team out. So he finally decided to take some money out of his pocket, and paid Prince Nana for a shot at the Pro Wrestling PRIDE Tag Champs. Ryan & Lost have showed promise as a team, but are constantly under the pressure of Sweet N’ Sour Larry Sweeney. Will they finally be able to satisfy their boss with a win?

-PRIDE Lightweight Champion Matt Sydal will be facing Scorpio Sky at Exodus. Larry Sweeney once again used his force to earn his client a title shot, eliminating Jay Lethal from title contention. With the help of Joey Ryan & Scott Lost, Scorpio Sky was able to beat Jay Lethal and earn his title shot. At Uprising, Scorpio suffered a loss in a triple threat for the title. Will Scorpio be able to redeem himself, or will Sydal be Bourne to fly?

-Prince Nana wants to show why Jimmy Rave is the Crown Jewel of the Embassy, and why he will be champion very soon. The Prince picked out the biggest “loser” in PRIDE, singling out the Notorious 187, Homicide. Naturally, Homicide became upset, and Nana started to mock his upbringing on the streets. In this match, it will be the rich vs the poor. Which side will prevail?

-As was said before, the team of the Age of the Fall was suspended for one month by order of Ricky Steamboat after losing a 3 on 3 match against the Untamed. The revolutionaries will be back after Exodus, their ban lifted. Will they still be able to spread their revolution to the masses after missing a month of PRIDE action?

-For the past couple of shows, messages have been interrupting PRIDE broadcasts. These messages show a countdown of weeks to what seems to be the date of Exodus. In the background, several other words were seen, which seemed like clues to what the countdown is for. Will the secret of the countdown be revealed?

BOOM.

?

Anyways, this was a good idea, as you refresh the ideas and feuds you were dealing with. It also reminded not only the big feuds, as I am sure a lot of people here knew about it, but definitevely the little, midcard feuds.

I am curious if the messages on the shows mean. I predict a superstar debuting. It is also good to see the return of AOFT. I am curious to see if they'd restart where they ended, trying to win all the championships.

ten years? wow. Still great to see Pride back on the scene. Exodus should be great.
