Not exactly. Windows 8 is a big performance boost compared to 7. Memory usage is down 60% for me and everything is snappier, Microsoft have done a great job in that regard. It is the interface that I can't handle, it just doesn't suit how I use a pc.
This was a free upgrade anyway, I don't like to use dated software. I have 2 more keys as well, I might give them away or sell them.

I'll post some more screenshots shortly, some of it is actually really nice.
Either way, it's not enough for me to give up Linux as my primary operating system. I love minimal desktops.

Yes. See the 'Desktop' tile? Click that and you get the Windows 7 look, without the start menu.

New laptop is coming with Windows 8 so I'll try it out. Not particularly looking forward to it. As soon as I get wired internet in my room I will be using Linux Mint, unless of course I get back into CSS.

I also read that it increases performance so I am actually interested in trying 8 out once it's been patched a bit. I like to wait a while with upgrading OS but like Solidus I like to use the latest.
