Beyoncé is sitting pretty on top of the albums chart once more. The pop superstar’s latest album 4 holds onto the No. 1 spot for a second week.

B’s fourth solo offering, featuring the singles “Run the World (Girls)” and “Best Thing I Never Had,” sold 115,000 copies in its second week in stores, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This is down 63% from opening week sales of 310,000. The album debuted at No. 1 worldwide upon its release late last month.
Lloyd scores the highest debut of the week on the Billboard 200 at No. 10, moving 26,000 units of his fourth LP King of Hearts. The Zone 4/Interscope release, which features André 3000, R. Kelly, and Keri Hilson, marks his third top 10 set following 2008’s Lessons in Love, which opened at No. 7 with 51,000.

Fans of Pop belter Christina Aguilera may be disappointed to hear that a new album from the starlet will be making its way to them later than they may have expected.
The album will be the follow up to her LP ‘Bionic‘ which spawned the tracks ‘Not Myself Tonight’ and ‘Stronger Than Ever’.

Find out more below…

Addressing the release of this new album, the performer explained:
‘It’s going to be a very heartfelt, deep routed and introspective record for me, we’re hoping for release in Spring/Summer next year’.
Here’s to hoping this next album ticks the boxes her fans may have felt ‘Bionic’ fell short of.
For despite her immense talent, Christina lives in a very forgetfully fickle music world where the successes a performer can be disregarded the moment a fresher competitor comes around.
Only time will tell how ‘The Voice‘ mentor fares in a kingdom now ruled by the GaGa’s and Adele’s of the world.

Many have questioned her abilities as a commercial artist in the past, but it seems that it is Kelly Rowland who is having laugh last. For her single ‘Motivation‘ is #1 again on the Billboard R&B singles chart, seventeen weeks after debuting.
Find out more below..

As if this feat wasn’t enough, the ‘SeatFiller‘ star’s single is #19 on the Billboard Hot 10o.
With her album ‘Here I Am’ making its way to stores in no more than two weeks, these achievements could not have come at a better time.

Will ‘Here I Am’ silence the Grammy winner’s naysayers once and for all?

Lady GaGa is most certainly expanding her media empire far beyond the realms of music and supporting visuals.
For the starlet’s ‘Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: at Madison Square Garden’ has obtained 5 Emmy nods, the very first set of nominations she has ever received from the well respected award ceremony.

Find out more below..

Miss Germanotta’s HBO special has resulted in her landing nominations in the categories of Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special; Directing; Technical Direction/Camerawork/Video Control, Picture Editing and Lighting Design.
The show is set to air on September 18th from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles where the starlet may possibly be in attendance.
Congratulations!

Hot Shots:Keri Hilson Is…..The Pink Bandit

Her fans may know her as an uber talented hitmaker at the forefront of Urban music, but last night Keri Hilson switched things up during her debut at the ‘I’m Still Music Tour’.
Donned in a pink jumpsuit with a money bag to match, Ms. Hilson delivered a performance of the villainous persuasion, wowing fans with renditions of ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ and ‘KnockYou Down’.
Check out more shots below…

She may be one of the world’s biggest stars, but that hasn’t stopped Lady GaGa from having her YouTube account suspended much to the horror of her media savvy fan base.
Find out why below…

After posting footage of her appearance on a Japanese television show on her official YouTube page, the account was suspended ‘due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube’s Copyright Policy’.
Only when the footage from the show was removed by order of Media Interactive did YouTube re-enable access to the page which features all of GaGa’s official music and visuals.

Jennifer Lopez’s summer has been filled with ‘big announcements’. Most recently, in an explosive report surfacing today, the Pop diva has filed for divorce from singer husband Marc Anthony. The marriage, which is Anthony’s second and Lopez’s third, reportedly ended ‘amicably on all terms’.
Their joint statement after the jump…

In a statement to PEOPLE, the couple said:
“We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.
It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
Lopez, 41, and Anthony, 42, are parents to twins Max and Emme – who were born in 2007.

Sigh. Yet another couple bite the dust. One has to wonder what this means for their joint Latin venture with media mogul Simon Fuller. For, the show was set to commence shooting next month.

Lady Gaga egged by fans at her concert. <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->
Forget the "Edge of Glory," this time Lady Gaga has gone way over the edge. At a concert in Sydney on Wednesday, Lady Gaga rolled out (literally) for a jaw-dropping performance. But fans weren't wide-eyed because of Mother Monster's epic lyrics or awkwardly awesome dance moves. No, fans were scraping their chins off the floor for quite a different reason -- Gaga took the stage in a wheelchair.

Sure, Lady Gaga hasn't risen to global superstar status for playing it safe, but did Gaga's latest stunt go a little too far? According to fans, it did. After her performance, while leaving a Sydney club, Gaga and her entourage were egged by fans who thought her disability bit was offensive rather than outrageous, according to the UK's Metro Online. Although Gaga wasn't directly hit with any of the eggs, her posse wasn't so lucky.

She is one of the only artists who has been able to score high sales figures despite being in the era of ’song leaks’ and illegal downloading.
Now, Lady GaGa has given her thoughts on what she feels is the real reason some artists struggle to shift commendable units.
Check out what she had to say below…
On artists who blame piracy for low sales figures, she says:
“I believe it is whole heartedly the obligation of the artist to create a wonderful album that speaks to that generation through the digital era and through the challenges that we’ve been put up against.”
Going onto reveal:
“People that blame things on piracy and blame things on music being stolen- this is just an excuse. It’s an excuse for artists not creating through all of that.”
Whilst many a fan of ‘insert name commercially unsuccesful artist here’ may be rattled by these comments, Ms. Germanotta does have a valid point.
For she herself is an artist who has faced continous ‘leaks’ and ‘illegal downloading’ yet is still one of the highest selling artists in the world despite debuting just three years ago.
Even embarking on two record breaking tours in the space of two years whilst some of her contemporaries continue to serve as opening acts even after countless albums and support from well meaning fans.
She is just one artist in a long list of performers which include Beyonce, Drake, Adele, Kanye West ,Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears and Chris Brown who have managed to chart with impressive figures even when faced with the tiresome issue of music piracy.
Whilst some fan bases also choose to blame lack of label support for the shortcomings of their favourite artists, it is worth remembering that there is ultimately nothing a label can do if these fans know an artist has an LP out but choose not to buy it.
Perhaps GaGa’s comments will inspire the marketing managers of struggling artists to find new and inventive ways to persuade music lovers to invest in their artists.
For it is becoming increasingly obvious that it is the artists who embrace their fans the most, are the ones that have the most to smile about when the sales figures roll in.
