That sounds hard but fun. I never heard of that one. So you only use two Pokemon at a time, one male and one female? No legends I take it then (I think all are gender-less?).
You can have up to three pairs in your party (six mons) but for that battle, unless your pair faints or you get roared out, you cannot use any other mon than the two in the pair.
Example: My pairs in my X Wedlocke are.
Miss. Mime (Mr. Mime) and Pugly (Snubull)
Bubbs (Squirtle) and Tapanga (Furfrou)
Merciless (Zangoose) and :angry: (Machop)
In battle, if I have :angry: then I can only switch into Merciless.
As for generless, typically you can't use them, but they are technically self-imposed rules so if you want to use a genderless mon, you can change it up a bit.
