So...I spent 3 hours "chaining" Rockruffs today and
have nothing to show for it.

Yes...I chained a single S.O.S method on Rockruffs
for 3 straight hours...and no shiny.

So...I won't be wasting my time on that ever again.

That's pretty much how it always goes, lots and lots of repetition. Though from what I understand (still haven't gotten around to playing this gen) it's a lot easier than it used to be. All depends on just how badly you want those shinies, if sitting through all of those play sessions with no results is worth it.

As far as I know, chaining Pokemon was a new thing that got introduced in Gen 6(?) so it used to be much more tedious. I have played Alpha Sapphire but I did almost no endgame stuff, so I don't have much experience with it.

So it used to be much, much more tedious. Best method previously was just breeding I believe, and hoping for the best the new eggs you're hatching are shiny.

There may or may not be a new method to guarantee a shiny with a Magikarp and breeding..

I haven't seen enough from H Sun and Moon to convince me that it'd be a waste of money, but considering that WWE 2k18 and South Park FbH is coming out at around the same time, I'll need some more convincing before I cough up $40 for something I could watch somebody play through on YouTube for free

If I do get it though, I definitely want Dusk Lycanroc. I don't like midday or midnight Lycanroc too much, but I really like the Dusk version, it's the best of both worlds, I just wish it was red

So...I went back to Ten Carat Hill and decided to do
some more shiny hunting and after about an hour and
50 encounters...it happened...

A female level 10 shiny Rockruff jumped onto my screen...
and it was...



I didn't panic...I put the pup to sleep and caught her with
the first pokeball I threw.

I have a Blue Dog!

Now...I will admit this seems very random...but I will
gladly provide photographic evidence if requested.

I think I'll hunt for a shiny of my all time favorite Pokemon
next...
