She's got a new guy so just say fuck it and head out to a social event somewhere. The best thing about relationships is they're never as special as we tend to think they are go out and find someone better, there is always someone out there.

I know, but I'm just one of them poor bastards who sits there and hopes it will get better. It's the ONE thing I can actually try and be optimistic about, but everytime it ends up SHIT

Pessimist. I can't help but have a gloomy outlook on things knowing how random, unfair and fucked up the world is, plus I find it's always better to expect the worst because that way it doesn't hit you quite as hard if/when something bad does happen, whereas being in a happy mood and having shit go wrong for you can screw up your mood for days.
