Sorry but there was WAY more to it than that. You don't just get engaged and proclaim how much you love, care, ect for someone day in and out and then just agree it is over. I think it came down to his drug issues and not being able to trust her coupled with her "past" and not being able to have self control. The two of them were BAD for each other and brought the worst out in each other.
Paige needs to stay away from men for while and learn self control and Alberto needs to allow this to happen and focus on his kids.
I really only think the reason she saw anything in him was down to him being older and having an "exotic" appeal.
