Opinion: Gunther's opponent is not a SummerSlam worthy world title match

Tbh I'm probably in the camp of retiring the MITB as a concept until it makes sense to pull it out, like WWE wanting to spend a year building up someone before giving them the title push.

I think it’s different as far as seeing someone’s opinion about the concept.

Like the best way, I can explain it is if you actually liked the concept I think it’s different if you have an idea of who you want to win the briefcase and then have an awesome idea to cash in on the same night because you want that person to be champion right away versus I don’t want any of these people booked in the money in the bank to be champion so rather than string this long for six months and do a failed cash-in I’m just gonna throw the briefcase away so it’s not even in play.

With your original post, it doesn’t make a difference because you originally just said briefcase holder. Now changing it to no champion because of it then yeah that makes a difference if they win it

I don't think HHH is a fan of it either but I feel like they will keep it around because it's such an easy event to get excited for. Next year might be different because like I mentioned in the main MITB thread, i'm almost positive he's got the mens world champions decided in his head for the next year or so. I think after Gunther & Cody have their solidifying reigns then things will be a little more up in the air I hope.

That’s why I tried to explain it more because I still think originally it makes perfect sense still because my entire point was if you’re talking about from the standpoint of whether or not the booker likes the concept, you wouldn’t book a title change the same not either because that would mean you’re still utilizing the concept versus having the winner lose and there not being any effect on your booking from the MITB concept. Even Vince as you said only did it twice out of 30 and Triple H only been doing this a year and change, but anyways, we got there. We good.

Bayley and Liv both did it also. but that doesn't make it much of a difference as its still way more who didn't. So that just me correcting myself, not trying to make a point haha. Well, 6 now in total but yeah

Anyways, to put a bow on it. I actually agree with Dale. I don’t think the match itself is going away. Triple H doesn’t have full control as much as some people think he does. I think the show and brand makes the company money and it gives the booking options from when they need to. So I don’t think the match or the show is going to go away. I just think whenever he can find a way around it he will take it. Cody Rhodes I assume is gonna have the belt a long time so he wouldn’t want to book the money in the bank anywhere near him. And then on the other side, Gunther is probably gonna have it for a little bit and then I think Seth might take it from him, and then we get to Seth and punk is my thoughts. And again he didn’t really wanna Factor in the briefcase holder.
