Triple H won his first WWE championship against Mick Foley. I remember this well as I had just finished high school in July that year and was really tired after doing my last GCSE's at school . Had the whole summer off before starting college for my apprenticeship. Soon as I saw the day I remembered straight away.

Can't recall ever hearing why Austin took issue with it tho, but that's been confirmed by a few involved so I believe it

Actually now that I think about it, Austin was already working hurt before they wrote him off with the hit and run later so he was probably just on pain pills and being a dick, might not be anything else

Stone Cold has said he wished he could of done things differently with a lot of decisions back in the day. We'll never know the feeling to be on top of the wrestling world and the pressure that comes with it. He'll always be the G.O.A.T for me and a large section of wrestling fans.

Took hunter three years after supposedly going to win K.O.T.R . After the MSG kilq incident . Who knows how it was but stone cold made the best of it and became one of the most beloved stars of all time.

I’ve heard Hunter confirm it without saying the words “Austin didn’t want to put me over”

I don’t know if they had a personal issue at the time. I don’t think that would be it though cause Hunter and Austin worked together pretty much from the time Austin came back til hunter tore his quad.

Like you said, maybe Austin was just being a dick. Or being very protective of his spot.

100% He was protecting his spot. He knew he didn't have much time left due to him living fast and hard he said a lot of times. I know he drunk a lot not on the show either and I don't know if he was taking drugs or not as he's never said it public.
