I could write a a 10 page essay on Bryan's WWE run but the one thing I always point to as when I knew he was set was the Raw after Mania 2012 when he lost in 18 seconds. Even at Mania the crowd was pissed and started "yes" chants for like the next 3 matches before HHH/Taker finally got them back into the show

But man that Raw, Rock was in the ring cutting a promo and it wasn't just "yes" chants but full on "Daniel Bryan" chants during a fucking ROCK promo bro. Later in the show they had what I assume was a last minute backstage segment with Bryan where he doesn’t even say anything but the crowd fucking erupted when they saw him on the screen. And from that point on he was literally one of the most over dudes in the company, it was fucking magical

This was one of the first SmackDowns I'd watched live (if not the first, I can't remember) in like 2 and a half years, feel so blessed I wasn't watching when he was retired, it was like we came back together

Technically, on this day three years ago, The Undertaker fought his final match. (Since it was recorded on March 25th afaik)

I don't know what was dumber, having Mr. Perfect's first loss come on a random match shown only on MSG Network, or his loss to Brutus Beefcake a couple of weeks later at WrestleMania. He should have remained undefeated until losing the I-C Title to Von Erich at Summerslam.
