Thanks to Claude for the following WWE SmackDown tapings from tonight's show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. These will air this Friday night on SyFy.

Dark Match:

* Alicia Fox beat Tamina.

SmackDown:

* Edge opens Edge Appreciation tonight and gets a monster ovation fro the Toronto crowd. Edge says it feels good to be back home. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes interrupts Edge and runs him down, then talking about his victory over Randy Orton on RAW. Cody gives Edge a brown paper bag but he gives it right back. Edge says Cody should put the bag over all of SmackDown and leaves.

* Cody leaves the ring and goes to hand the bags out to the fans but gets decked by Ted DiBiase, who is planted in the crowd as a fan.

* Daniel Bryan beat Sin Cara by DQ after Cara wouldn't stop hitting him in the corner. After the match, the original Sin Cara came down and they stared each other down.

* Backstage segment with Teddy Long and Zack Ryder. Ryder has instituted a no contact order for Randy Orton and Mark Henry tonight. Aksana comes in and gets Teddy to give her a massage. This brings in Trish Stratus, who needs to talk with Teddy.

* Beth Phoenix defeated AJ Lee. She cuts a promo after the match and says she will save the Divas division after beating Kelly Kelly at Night of Champions.

* Vignette for Sheamus

* Trish Stratus and Edge are backstage when Christian walks in. He apologizes to Edge for SummerSlam and they hug. Edge says what he said before about Christian needs to stop whining. Zack Ryder comes in and tells Edge that his guests tonight have a no contact order.

* Sheamus and Justin Gabriel beat Wade Barrett and Christian.

* The Great Khali beat Heath Slater by DQ after Jinder Mahal came out and attacked Khali. Khali ended up chokeslamming both men.

* R-Truth beat Evan Bourne while The Miz and Kofi Kingston were on commentary.

* Edge comes out for The Cutting Edge and introduces Mark Henry and Randy Orton. They talk about Night of Champions and Edge thinks Henry has had a disappointing WWE career. This doesn't sit well with Henry but he agrees. Edge also wonders if Orton can beat Henry but Orton is sure of it. Henry says it's his time to get the World Title and that ends The Cutting Edge. The no contact order is now over so they start to brawl. Henry lays Orton out with a pair of World's Strongest Slams and poses with the World Title to end the show.
So they are doing the Sin Cara vs fake Sin Cara thing afterall that should be interesting. Show looks like it could be good but not expecting much out of the cutting edge seg.

So, we're getting Cara vs Cara after all huh? Should be interesting. Story-wise it should be awful and confusing, especially since this is the Smackdown booking team. However, their matches should be fucking amazing.

- HHH opens the show with an address to all the superstars of WWE. All the Smackdown wrestlers are ringside. He reminds the crew that if they get out of line, he'll fire them just like he did Miz and R-Truth. He announces that Henry vs Christian for the title will take place tonight in a lumberjack match. Winner defends against Orton at HIAC.

1) Sheamus defeats Heath Slater with the Brogue Kick.

- Christian tries to recruit superstars backstage to help him during tonight's main event.

2) Wade Barrett defeats Justin Gabriel

- Christian continues to recruit superstars to help him win the World Title

- Randy Orton backstage says he'll win the title or die.

3) Beth Phoenix & Natalya defeat AJ & Kaitlyn

4) Cody Rhodes defeats Randy Orton via DQ after Orton wouldn't stop beating Rhodes with the mask. After the match, Orton beat down Rhodes, finishing with two RKOs onto the announce table. Rhodes was bloodied, and trainers came out twice to wipe him down during the beatdown segment.

5) Sin Cara vs Daniel Bryan ends when another Sin Cara enters to confuse everyone. Short match, apparently some blown spots, so going with Mistico as the participant in the match.

6) Great Khali squashes Jinder Mahal

7) Air Boom vs Usos. Short, Air Boom wins.

8) Mark Henry defeats Christian in the main event.
Looks like nothing more than a okay show. Sucks that a match like usos vs air boom is a short one considering it would probably be a really good 10 min match.

Agree with you on the Air Boom/Usos match. Other than that it looks pretty decent.

Fans in attendance at tonight’s Smackdown tapings in Dayton, Ohio have sent word that the entire side of the arena that the WWE cameras are shooting from is completely tarped off. All of the fans are sitting on the side opposite of the camera. This is the second Smackdown taping in recent weeks that have suffered from poor attendance.
Think this is just a reflection of Smackdown just really not being compelling and just has the same show set up every week ever since they moved Orton over there.

To be honest, now that AwesomeTruth have been fired, Teddy Long should re-hire them to the SmackDown brand. It gives the SD brand 2 more big characters, but it also allows them to still appear on Raw because of the supershow initiative they got going on.

Like said in my above post earlier, every week it's just literally the same thing with the same guys doing the same thing. There's plenty of guys who get no tv time on either brand and come to think of it, I have zero idea of what brand they're actually on.

Why not have Bryan have a good physical 5/6 minute match with someone like Drew? Why not let Sin Cara have a match where he can show of his aggression against someone like Yoshi or Primo instead of making your MITB holder look weak as hell? If Sheamus is going to beat a jobber, why not use someone like Drew who I mentioned earlier who's a physical dude, or someone like Reks or Brodus clay? Just vary it up even if it's just a case of using a few different guys. Even the Divas situation is the same every week. Why not do AJ vs Tamina and the DOD just come out midway through the match or at the end and just squash the pair of them.

Smackdown (Airing Friday on SyFy):

* The show opens with Booker T interviewing World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry

* Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry b. The Great Khali and attacks him after the match, using a chair.

* Jack Swagger w/Vickie Guerrero & WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler b. Evan Bourne w/Kofi Kingston

* Sin Cara b. Heath Slater in a squash match. After the match, Hunico debuted on the big screen with new gear and said Sunday at Hell in a Cell the real Sin Cara will be determined.

* Backstage, John Laurinaitis is shown meeting with the disgruntled superstars. They all agree to serve Triple H with a lawsuit Monday on Raw Supershow.

* WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly b. Natalya with Beth Phoenix on commentary. After the match, Beth hits the Glam Slam on Kelly.

* Cody Rhodes cut a promo on his injuries suffered at the hands of Randy Orton last week. He's upset no action was taken by WWE and he is not pleased to be defending the Intercontinental Championship tonight against Sheamus.

* WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes b. Sheamus via disqualification when Christian came out and took out Sheamus.

* Zack Ryder b. JTG

* Backstage, Triple H and John Laurinaitis are shown. Hunter is upset about the meeting Laurinaitis had with disgruntled superstars earlier in the night. Laurinaitis said he was loyal to Triple H.

* Backstage, Matt Striker interviews Randy Orton.

* Randy Orton vs. Christian ends in a double count out. After the match when Orton was going after Christian, Cody Rhodes came out and made the save. This brought out Sheamus, who cleared the ring and ran off Christian. World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry came out and gave Orton the World's Strongest Slam. Henry went for a chair but when he got back in the ring, Orton hit him with the RKO to end the show.
Seems ok. Look forward to seeing Swagger/Evan and Cody/Sheamus as they could both be good matches. Intrigued to see how the the Sin Cara stuff plays out too.

Heel cara looks pretty cool. Assuming he is gonna stick around and such think they should give him his own name soon.

Really like that gear and it's just a nice and simple way of distinguishing the good and bad Sin Cara while they play the story out.

Credit to Nodq.com reader Noah for the following WWE SmackDown spoilers from tonight's tapings in Dallas, Texas, airing this Friday night on SyFy:

Dark Match:

* Brodus Clay defeated another local wrestler in a squash.

* Shawn Michaels and Triple H reunited as DX for an off-camera appearance and teased a future WrestleMania for Cowboys Stadium.

SmackDown:

* Teddy Long opened this week’s show with the RAW General Manager, John Laurinaitis. They announced a 41-man battle royal for tonight’s show. The winner will get a title shot of any title they choose, similar to Money in the Bank.

* Randy Orton won a 41-man battle royal to earn a shot at any title. Miz and Orton were the final two men standing. Orton RKO'd The Miz from the apron and they both fell at the same time, the refs declared Orton the winner. Orton chose to face Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship.

* Beth Phoenix defeated Kelly Kelly.

* Black Sin Cara Black attacked Blue Sin Cara Blue on the stage and removed his mask.

* Black Sin Cara (wearing Blue Sin Cara's mask) defeated Justin Gabriel.

* WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio defeated Sheamus. Christian interfered and helped Del Rio get the win. After the match, Christian beat down Sheamus.

* Kofi Kingston and Zack Ryder defeated Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler.

* Randy Orton defeated Mark Henry by disqualification. Cody Rhodes interfered and took out Orton. Big Show came out for the save. Orton hit an RKO on Rhodes.
Seems like another average Smackdown.
