There's no reason to think GSP won't come through again. He's still the best in the world in his class. Overall this is a pretty solid looking event.

Yeah I found out that the local movie theater up in Erie is showing UFC 111 on the big screen through the newspaper last night. As soon as the Diaz/Markham fight is over on the SPIKE TV Prelims, me and my broskies are in there like swimwear. I still have to find out how much we're going to have to pay to watch UFC 111 though.

I can't believe how much that Primetime series tried to make me believe Hardy stands a chance against GSP. As much as I hate BJ Penn, I can't deny his game and GSP defeated BJ. With wins over Matt Hughes, Thiago Alves, and BJ Penn, there is no chance Hardy can put up a fight like those guys can no way. I hate Hardy too, but I am not denying his skill but I am just saying he isn't going to have enough to take it to GSP. He beat Swick and Davis...both by decision...and he says he will FINISH GSP? I am sorry, but no.

Brock's last minute thoughts on Mir vs. Carwin:

NoDQ.com > UFC > Brock Lesnar comments on Carwin vs. Mir
Posted by Danny Seven on 03/27/2010 at 01:32 PM

Brock Lesnar was on ESPN Friday talking about this weekend's interim heavyweight title bout between Shane Carwin and Frank Mir:

"That was a business decision that the UFC had to make," Lesnar said. "Really, that belt is a make-believe belt to satisfy the company and to satisfy the people in the heavyweight division. I'm still the heavyweight champion."

"What's said outside of the Octagon is all purely entertainment," Lesnar said. "I dislike Frank -- there isn't an opponent in the Octagon that I really truly like. That's the battle of competition. I'm not a grudge-holder, but the first and foremost thing to me is, When I get in that Octagon I respect no one. And that's the bottom line for me."

"If Shane Carwin is a better version of Brock Lesnar, then the fight's over in the first 30 seconds -- I feel bad for Frank," Lesnar said. "Frank has a history of putting his foot in his mouth and let's just see what happens Saturday night. I'm anxious to fight either one of those opponents. Both of them I've got some history with. ... I can sit back and watch and let these guys fight over who wants to come after Brock Lesnar, the UFC heavyweight champion."

Things to note from the PPV.

1. Brock will never stop talkin shit even though his argument about still having the belt could be tarnished by the fact he could have lost it long ago if not for the injury. Lesnar vs. Carwin will prove all.

2. Carwin is as Rogen would say for real.

3. Dan Hardy DOES NOT QUIT. I don't care if GSP outwrestled him the whole time I'd like to see anyone take the torture that kid did and not tap.

That is all. Thinkin I should try my hand at reviewing PPVs and review the shit outta this PPV.

I agree completely. I love the fact that Brock is shit talking, it gives the UFC more personality. He just has to play the heel & I love it. Carwin was great. Pre-fight I thought Mir was going to submit him after a beating by Carwin. Lesnar-Mir 3 will happen, Dana knows its a big money pairing & everybody wants to see the rubber match. Hardy is a tough dude. The Kimura looked like it was going to rip his arm off, I think it was sicker looking than the armbar was.

^^^ Lesnar-Mir 3 is not happening. There's Carwin, then Velasquez and Dos Santos. No time for them to force a fight.

This PPV wasn't so exciting.

That depends on how well Mir can bounce back. After all this he's definitely going back to near the bottom of the rankings.

But then again, Dana White has shown in the past that he'll make a fight happen if he thinks it will sell well.

Exactly the fighters Mir beat to get to this fight were really good and he just lost to a guy who was wayy better prepared. Mir will bounce back, Give him 2 or 3 preparing fights, 1 title contendership fight and he'll be back to Lesnar, if he can win these fights.

I wouldn't say it won't happen. It might happen sometime down the road but definitely not anytime soon.

It almost happened way too perfectly with another Carwin 1st round KO. The hype surrounding Lesnar vs. Carwin is going to be insane. Everyone is going to be looking for a 1st round KO of Lesnar.

After all the hate for Dan Hardy, I actually tip my hat to him he hung with GSP for all 5 rounds, that was ridiculous.

Hardy didn't do anything for me. All he did was prove that he likely is too stupid to recognize pain. Maybe if the fight would have been competitive then I would have something good to say about him but he got schooled during the whole thing.
