July 9th: It has been a year of growth and transition for ROH and its roster. Several longtime ROH regulars had to move on. This has opened the door for many exciting newcomers to make their reputations. The top spots are all up for grabs. Now ROH officials have decided to hold a tournament to see who wants the top spots the most. The cream of the crop will rise in the "Race To The Top" tournament on 7/27 in Long Island and 7/28 in Edison. You can save 30% on tickets to all ROH shows until TONIGHT at ROHwrestling.com. It will be a 16 man single elimination tournament. All eight first round matches will take place in Long Island. The final three rounds will go down the next night in Edison. This tournament is sure to produce a lot of unique and first time ever matches as ROH will see who wants the main event spots. The first bracket has been announced. All first round matches were drawn at random. The following matches will take place in Long Island with the winners meeting in Edison:

-Erick Stevens vs. Chris Hero with Larry Sweeney, Tank Toland & Bobby Dempsey
-Delirious vs. El Generico

July 9th: ROH officials are getting ready to head to Japan for ROH's first ever shows in Tokyo on 7/16 and Osaka on 7/17. Check the main page of ROHwrestling.com for an article detailing how these will be two of the most unique cards in ROH history. ROH officials will be in attendance at this Sunday's NOAH Budokan Hall event. There will be some interesting negotiations taking place in Japan. This will be a huge trip for ROH!!!

July 9th: One athlete who will have a tough trip in Japan is Roderick Strong. He has made a lot of enemies since starting the No Remorse Corps. Now he has to answer to two men he has previously injured. Tokyo will witness ROH's most intense stipulation match as Strong faces Delirious in a Fight Without Honor. Can Delirious finally get revenge? Osaka will see former partners collide when Roderick Strong faces Jack Evans. This will be the third match between the two in ROH and so far Strong is 2-0 against Evans. Can Jack return to ROH with a big singles victory? July 11th: We have a major development for the Philadelphia Street Fight scheduled for "Death Before Dishonor V: Night 2" on August 11th in Philly. At the time this match was set, Austin Aries was not a part of the ROH roster. Now that Aries has signed with ROH he wants to get his hands on the No Remorse Corps of Roderick Strong, Davey Richards & Rocky Romero. As leader of The Resilience, Aries has been given the option of bumping Delirious from the bout so he can team with Resilience members Erick Stevens & Matt Cross in this no rules match. However, Aries knows that Delirious also wants to get his hands on the NRC, especially in Philadelphia. Aries has challenged the NRC to find a fourth teammate for what promises to be a wild and violent brawl. It didn't take long for the NRC to reach a deal with Larry Sweeney for Matt Sydal to be in this match. Of course, Sydal has past issues with Delirious and Aries so he is more than happy to join the NRC for one night only in Philadelphia. ROH officials have decided not to sanction this bout so that these two teams can really fight it out. August 11th in Philadelphia will see Aries, Delirious, Stevens & Cross vs. Strong, Romero, Richards & Sydal in a Non-Sanctioned Philadelphia Street Fight. This gives this year's "Death Before Dishonor" a theme of non-sanctioned street fights as night 1 in Boston will see Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Kevin Steen & El Generico in a Non-Title Non-Sanctioned Boston Street Fight. July 11th: The next bracket for the "Race To The Top" tournament on July 27th in Long Island and July 28th in Edison has been announced. These matches will take place in Long Island with the winners meeting in Edison:

July 24th: It is going to be a very unpredictable night in Edison, NJ when ROH returns to the Inman Sports Center this Saturday. You will see the final eight participants in the "Race To The Top" tournament fight it out in three rounds of single elimination action. There will be no time limits and there must be a winner in all the "Race To The Top" tournament matches. The best will rise to the top in Edison. The brackets are listed in yesterday's ROHwrestling.com Newswire so you can try to predict the tournament and what matches will take place in Edison. The only sure thing is that you will definitely see the top talent in some unique matches. The first round contests will take place this Friday in Long Island. July 24th: There will be two non-tournament matches on Saturday in Edison. They will both provide a lot of action. There will be a Six Man Mayhem with the competitors that do not advance past the first round of the tournament (graduates of the ROH Wrestling School might also be added to this Six Man Mayhem). The other match will be very interesting as it will be the $10,000 Tag Team Challenge. Captains will be selected after the Long Island show. The Edison event will see each captain pick three team members. The two teams will then compete in an eight man tag and the winning team will split a $10,000 prize. There is no telling who will be on what team, but they will have to cooperate with that much money on the line. The captains will get to pick anyone who is not active in the "Race In The Top" tournament. July 25th: "Caged Rage" on 8/24 in Hartford, CT at the conveniently located Expo Center, just minutes from downtown Hartford, is beginning to take shape. The double main event will feature two STEEL CAGE matches. Yesterday it was announced that Jay & Mark Briscoe will battle Kevin Steen & El Generico in the cage. The second big Steel Cage match has been signed. It will be a battle of former partners as Jack Evans faces Roderick Strong inside the confines of the cage. These two tore down the house in Osaka last week in a No DQ match. Now they will settle the feud inside the cage in Hartford. ROH World Champion Takeshi Morishima will also be in Hartford and if he is champion he will put the belt on the line. We have a look at the updated lineup below.

July 26th: The Race To The Top Tournament starts tomorrow in Long Island at the Deer Park Community Center on 41 Homer Avenue in Deer Park, NY with a zip code of 11729. Belltime is 8pm and there will be tickets available at the door on the night of the show. You will see all eight first round matches of the tournament in addition to two big title bouts. Roderick Strong will defend the FIP World Heavyweight Title against three challengers in a Four Way Fray. The rules are simple- everyone is in the ring at once, it is elimination rules and eliminations can take place by pinfall, submission or countout. The last man standing is the FIP Heavyweight Champion. Strong will have a tough night as three men with rich FIP histories in Austin Aries, Jimmy Rave and Gran Akuma will be in the match. The big news here is that this will be the first time Aries and Strong are in the same match since Aries returned to ROH. Things will explode when Aries and Strong collide in Long Island!!!

July 26th: Perhaps the most unique and unpredictable night in ROH history will take place this Saturday at Inman Sports Club on 990 Inman Avenue in Edison, NJ with a zip code of 08820. There will be tickets available at the door and belltime is 7:30pm. All the stars in Long Island will be in action in Edison, NJ. There is a chance that you will see all first time in ROH bouts in Edison. Not only will you witness the second round, semifinals and finals of the Race To The Top Tournament, but there will be a Six Man Mayhem with those that don't advance in the first round and the $10,000 Tag Team Challenge. This promises to be the most unique match yet as two captains will select three members to form a team for an eight man tag. The winning team will split $10,000 so all the team members will have to cooperate. This will be a wild night in Edison. The only thing you are guaranteed is a great night of action and top match ups.

August 7th: This will be a historic weekend for women's wrestling in ROH. For the first time the SHIMMER Title will be defended by SHIMMER Champion Sara Del Rey. It will be Daizee Haze vs. Lacey this Friday in Boston. After what happened this year in Boston between these two this will be an explosive match. The winner will face Del Rey for the title this Saturday in Philadelphia. Both Lacey and Haze have an extensive history against Del Rey in both ROH and SHIMMER. August 7th: Bryan Danielson still has the entire cash prize from the $10,000 Tag Team Challenge from 7/28 in Edison, NJ in his possession. Danielson captained a team that consisted of Matt Sydal, Austin Aries & Jay Briscoe. Danielson contends that he is just letting the money accumulate interest in the bank right now. Sydal's agent Larry Sweeney is looking into serving Danielson with legal papers to get Sydal's share. It will be interesting to see what happens when Danielson takes on Sydal on August 10th in Boston. Sydal is looking for revenge since Danielson pushed him off the top rope in Edison to try to gain the pinfall for himself. Boston will witness the first ever meeting of Danielson and Sydal in ROH.

Just some injury updates.

-Takeshi Morishima, the ROH World Champion, suffered an elbow injury Friday Night in Boston, MA. He worked the next night in Philadelphia and is not expected to miss any time as the injury is not looked at as serious.

-Speaking of Takeshi Morishima, his bout vs. Claudio Castagnoli bout from Friday in Roxbury, MA is being touted as one of the best ROH matches of the year, and a career bout for Claudio Castagnoli.

-Erick Stevens was knocked silly during the Philadelphia Street fight Saturday night, but upon medical testing was ruled negative for a concussion.

-Mike Quackenbush is not currently scheduled for any upcoming ROH events, due to him having a very busy upcoming schedule. ROH plans to bring him back in as soon as possible.

-Homicide was visiting at the Philadelphia show before he headed to a booking for CZW that evening.
