To be fair Punk has delivered whenever in a main event.

In match quality and promos sure, but the main event is only really ever as good as the booking. I don't even think Punk can deliver a memorable occasion when the main event is him and his like three-week long no build feud with Ryback, and that is coming from a mark for both those guys.

Matches are still enjoyable even if they have poor build up though. Bryan/Punk at Over The Limit had a horrendous build up but was still an awesome match, I don't see why Ryback and Punk in the Cell can't also be tbh.

You compare Bryan with Ryback? How dare you.

I would watch and enjoy Punk vs Bryan if the build up was Punk stole a few hairs from Bryan's beard. It's safe to say Ryback isn't going to put on a show inside the ring like the BITW Bryan would. Perhaps the atmosphere and maybe surprise booking could create an awesome main event, but if it gets shit on with idiots on the crowd then I'll be sighing in the early hours.

There's no reason why Ryback can't produce in a match like this, it's Hell in a Cell and he's working with one of the best wrestlers in the company, it could easily be an awesome match. If they make it brutal and add some great spots then I'll be entertained - even if it isn't a technical masterpiece.

Besides, we've never seen him wrestle a long match, he could be a great wrestler for all we know?

I've seen him wrestle relatively long matches in NXT and FCW. HIAC normally can be a gimmick that can turn average matches into fantastic matches, but without the story behind it then this is just another match ruining the gimmick of HIAC, in my honest opinion.

But hey I'm sort of being pessimistic here, I have faith in Ryback and he can pretty much do anything to Punk considering his weight so who knows, perhaps we'll be in for a treat.

Never knew he wrestled many TV matches on there, ignore that point.

It definitely can be IMO. You said it yourself, the HIAC can turn a decent match into a great one and Ryback can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants with a guy the size of Punk. I think the important thing is that Punk gets to dominate a lot of the match and talk Ryback through it.
