ONE GAME. One bloody game and every one says Manchester United are in crisis, and celebrate them losing more than their team winning. We lost last season, like 6 or 7 times, and we only lost the league on goal difference so yeah. I am not worried at all yet, Everton is a bogey team, I had a feeling the result wouldn't go our way and I'm glad they're out of the way now. Can't wait to see us thrash Fulham on the weekend and shut all the critics up.

Think you need to read peoples posts properly when did I say Utd were in crisis? I just think it is a bit unbalanced the way the media claim Arsenal are in crisis after one 0-0 yet they don't attack utd in the same way for losing, not saying they should but going by their weird logic if a draw in your first game is worth crisis talk then what is a defeat worth?

My prediction is that the top three of last season will be the same top three this time with Chelsea taking Spurs place in fourth.

Good signing that for Spurs he did well for them last season and they have been a bit light on strikers recently. Only thing is I don't know if he will perform as well under AVB as he did when Redknapp was in charge.

QPR are rumored to have agreed a deal with Real Madrid to sign Ricardo Carvalho on a season long loan.

QPR are becoming like Chelsea but on a smaller scale just throwing money at players hopeing it gels into a team, also it strikes me that the manager is having very little say in these signings and that can't be good. Carvalho is past his best now and a bit injury prone too.

United's sole problem is the defence. It's shamefully weak for a club of their stature. Once you get past the old stalwarts (Rio, Vidic and Evra), you have no one. I mean, should one of those three get injured, who are we going to field? Smalling? :lmao Fabio? :lmao :lmao Buying this Buttner was a good move, as long as he's decent, he'll be better than the rest of the backup squad.

BTW, this report about how Nani is being ousted out by United after the weekend's performance is bogus, right?

If this demise of Arsenal talk is nothing but a myth, so is the whole stuff about Man Utd being in a crisis with money. People keep banging on about the Glazers raping Man Utd and not giving any money for transfers yet look at all the money they've spent the past few seasons, hardly seems a crisis to me.

Also, i'm not sure if you're aware or not but Fergie spent heavily in getting Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, you know two guys who will eventually replace Rio and Vidic for years to come and have already had plenty of Premier League experience. Even though Vidic is aging he'll still be one of the best centre backs in the league if he gets anywhere near back to his form before he suffered his injury. The only place he hasn't strengthened which i'll give to you is centre midfield as they're seriously lacking in genuine quality outside of Scholes who is on his last legs.

Can't work out what your agenda is, whether it's bitterness, jealousy or just straight up trolling.

If you think Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are adequate replacements for Rio and Vidic then I don't really know what to say.

I really can't be bitter or jealous about shit players like that or Welbeck.

Anyway, pretty shocked Scott Sinclair is deciding to waste his career on being the new Adam Johnson and only playing Carling Cup games for Man City.

Smalling is appalingly poor for a club like United. Maybe at Reading or Norwich, and even then he wouldn't be first-team.

Hey, if they keep burning money like that on mediocre players then I'm happy.

Fergie has an appalling record in the transfer market.

Lol, criticising Fabio and Smalling yet saying Buttner was a good move despite me being almost positive you had never heard of him or seen him play.

You're right, but hey - it's United buying a defender. Which we direly need. Therefore it's positive until proven otherwise. Notice I said "IF he is decent...", leaving room for the possibility of him not being.

Every great manager makes bad signings now and then Wenger and Fergie are no different. Can we move on from this Arsenal/Utd talk please?

Sounds like a cracking game last night, Reading were two nil up at one stage. Almost another shock and six goals overall great drama. I am predicting that Torres will have a much better season now than he is the main man and settled at Chelsea. If Lampard can keep his opening week form up and the new signings bed in they could be title contenders.
