I am sure that we have all had a quirky teacher or two throughout our schooling and should have some stories to tell. To make it clear from the start, don't use real names, it should be obvious why not.

I had a Maths teacher in Year 10 that was a real oddball. Teaching definitely didn't seem like the right job for him as he was quite an awkward person, when he walk talk to a student he would get really close and had the worst breath imaginable. For some reason he had a sleeping bag in his classroom and for so long we couldn't figure out why. Then one day a couple of students got to class early and saw him sleeping in the sleeping bag inside the classroom. He had slept there overnight which is just weird, never gave a reason for it just said that his alarm didn't wake him that morning. Only taught at my school for one year as he said he was off to university to study the shape of the universe. Last we heard of him he had bought a beat up second hand car and was driving across Australia to go fishing.

Also had this creepy Padre that lived on campus. From the beginning everyone was suspicious of him. He wore a robe instead of a normal pants, shirt and tie ensemble that every other teacher wore as he wanted to be more like Jesus. Used to frequently touch the girls on their knees and upper thighs and sit incredibly close to them. Was called a paedophile many a time and my entire year got brought to the head of middle school and reprimanded for saying it and was told that he wasn't. Long story short was caught by the cops with a ton of child porn on his computer, remember he lived on school grounds, and was arrested and charged.

Anyone else have any weird or funny teachers or funny stories from their school years?

As soon as I saw the title of this thread I remembered my 8th grade science teacher. Oh. My. God.

This dude was pretty nuts. Like, seriously... I'm pretty sure this guy had a legitimate mental issue. But damned if he wasn't the most awesome and fucking hilarious teacher I ever had.

The FIRST day of school, I walked into his class for 7th period and the room was covered in fire extinguisher sulfur. I mean EVERYTHING. The student desks, his desk, the floor, the back tables by the sinks... everything. And his explanation was, "Oh, I just got a little carried away last period" and we're all looking around at eachother like "WTF?" and we all knew something was weird because he had all the windows covered with thick black paper, even the windows that saw out into the hallway. He said he didn't like people snooping around his class. So obviously I'm a little freaked out.

Then during our first class, he proceeds to cut off the lights and then the song "Twilight Zone" started blasting on a stereo he had by his desk (with big ass speakers) and he starts walking near his desk literally blowing FIRE BALLS from his mouth. I'm so totally not shitting you. Big ones too, you could feel the heat off them across the whole room. Later that year he even let us shoot pellet guns outside for a JFK Assassination experiment because he was convinced Oswald was a lone gunman and you never could have convinced him otherwise. He talked literally 2 whole class periods 2 days in a row about the JFK assassination and there was even a question on our final exam that read "Who shot JFK?". I must remind now that this was a science class. There was even a question on the final exam about me, it said something like "What would JT normally do on a weekend?" and "Metallica concert" was one of the answers and everyone knew I was a huge Metallica fan in 8th grade because I wore their shirts almost every day.

That's just the short version, I could go on and on and on about this guy for hours. Definitely my favorite class ever.

Jesus Christ, reading what I just wrote... it just seems like complete bullshit. I'm not kidding, if someone told me that I would think they were a fucking liar immediately. :lmao

It was very real though. Totally not exaggerating about anything. Not even a little bit.

My current Physics teacher and my Chemistry teacher last year owns an island in the bahamas(???) that he inherited from his wife when she passed away, lives in a 2 story house that he built himself last year alone (besides his pet lizards), collects old cars (has about 25), and was on an episode of Cajun Pawn Stars last year. I feel like I'm forgetting other stuff, but he's by far the most interesting person I've ever met.

I had an interesting Physics teacher as well in High School. He was great, looked like a mad scientist and he used to devote part of every lesson to a Mythbusters style experiment. Would spend so much time discussing that show and pointing out the flaws in their experiments. Learnt a lot from him though, different style of teaching but still got everything across that you needed to learn.

Only had one, a substitute teacher who turned up pissed or off his face on drugs, was playing bhangra music full blast.

His only aim for the lesson was for us to bang the tambourine without making any noise, somehow. Someone grassed on him and he got took out and (assumedy) blacklisted from teaching again.
