ECW in WWE was their third brand. These are facts. NXT is now a third brand under the same situation. It's WWECW but with better branding, over stars, and better booking.

It is a third brand, no matter how you slice it. End of story.

Not sure why WWE ECW is getting so much hate either, it was literally what NXT is albeit much more WWE style.

Also Gargano is literally the face of NXT, he's in a way better position as a performer in NXT than he would be on the main roster.

Probably bc most people stopped watching when it was shitty af in '06-'07 trying to still be ECW until it became pre-NXT with all the young guys and a few veterans like Regal and Christian that had some really fun runs.

People stopped getting drafted to ECW around 2008. You're dying on a pointless hill that has so many holes.

Besides, people don't need to be drafted to NXT when they already have a stacked roster.

Plus main roster guys like Breeze and Fandango just go down whenever they want anyway.

Basically yes NXT is TECHNICALLY developmental as WWE calls it one, so you're not wrong on that Sabs, but it's pretty obvious to everyone that it's closer to what WWECW was than say FCW or OVW and all the other old developmentals WWE has used in the past. It's not EXACTLY like WWECW as it's a new thing that's never been done before, but there's more similarities there than anything else WWE has done in the past and for all intents and purposes, it's being treated by most people as a third brand that's just lower than Raw or SmackDown than a true developmental brand of the past because it's grown so much bigger than any of them ever have before.

It's not the same as ECW. ECW actually had stars get drafted onto it. And when stars were signed they didn't just go to ECW. Now almost no new star goes to SD or Raw. They go to NXT then to Raw or SD
