Can anyone quickly fill me in on why Ciampa is wrestling for the UK Title? Is it just kinda by default because he was facing Walter regardless and they just figured to put the belt at stake?

Yeah pretty much, he's had problems with Imperium and ended up calling Walter out for sending his lackeys to do his dirty work or some shit so then Walter got involved too. Thatcher also involved as Ciampa's partner, could easily see him turning tho.

Imperium may or may have not taken out his new friend Timothy Thatcher and WALTER has made Grampa Ciampa a target to show Imperium dominance....So Grampa Ciampa challenged him for his title.

I smell that. Best case scenario I reckon is Walter beats Ciampa in an absolute barn burner, then Thatcher steps up and prevails in beating Walter, becoming the new UK champ. Regardless of the fact he isn't from Europe, he is definitely most noted for his work in that continent throughout his career so it works just fine.

im pretty disappointed that Santos vs. Devlin gonna be a ladder match I mean I get it being the CW title and I am all for flippy shit but, I was really looking forward to a standard singles match i feel like with this Santos winning gonna happen due to group help which isnt ideal

It's a throwback to when there were "two" IC champs in 94 and we got the Razor/HBK ladder match with both hanging above the ring. And I doubt it's gonna have a lot of flippy shit, probs just more ladder as weapon spots than anything. Neither are super flippy people lol

But it has nothing to do with them being cruiserweights and everything to do with the fact that there's two men with a belt claiming to be champion lol

I'm really excited for this Takeover. Both nights are stacked with banging match-ups, and it is very rare for these shows to not deliver. If every match is as good as I'm hoping it looks on paper, I would say this could go down as one of the best ones.

It's a very strong card. Stoked for Cole vs O'Reilly in particular, hopefully they make good use of the unsanctioned.
