What an odd time to think back to, when Leon Ruff won the North American Championship. Seems they've pretty much ditched that route, as he basically played a punching bag in the gauntlet.

Pretty damn shocked about the booking of this match in general. The first three guys to go out were definitely not the three guys I was expecting in those spots. Lumis was probably my favorite to win, I figured he was on a collision course with Gargano, and that may be the case, but now it looks as though LA Knight will be his immediate target. Also would have never guessed LA Knight would be the third elimination.

Love that Grimes, Swerve and Reed got so much shine though. Big fan of all 3 dudes. Hopefully Reed wins the belt.

Lastly, LA Knight is just such an odd fit in NXT. I am prematurely worried about him becoming EC3 Jr.

Yeah the gauntlet match I honestly couldn't call from the get go, the rest of the matches were easy to predict. I had Lumis winning by a mile since I thought they were carrying on the feud with The Way. I had Knight as the second winner but heel/heel was never gonna happen and knew he would get eliminated in a dodgy fashion.

Night 1 was a really entertaining to watch during my watching that I just finished minutes ago. MSK winning the NXT Tag Titles so happy for both of those guys. Truly humble fellas who deserve that moment that was put on hold now it's them on top. Walter/Ciampa was brutal and nasty and Walter continues to dominate while Ciampa looked like a Champion in a losing effort vs one of the best big men in the business today. Reed winning the Gauntlet meh unless Lumis shows up Gargano should retain and I'm not high on Reed at all as a talent. He doesn't have the greatest personality but for some reason WWE loves him. I rather of wanted to see something new with a LA Knight win, but you can't have it all.

Now to the Main Event which I thought was good not great for me. It felt like Io dominated 80 percent of the Match and Raquel did a few things and won off of one finisher? Io legit merked her it felt like 5 minutes straight and all of a sudden Raquel hulks up and kicks out of her Moonsault and then has the energy to drop Io for her finisher for the win yeah that doesn't make any sense to me. Now I always thought if you were going to do a Title change Io would be the lady to put over Raquel and make her look great and she did that selling what little stuff Raquel gave in that Match. Congrats to her and I imagine the next possible Champions are either Dakota or Sareee who is no stranger to beating down and dropping tall ladies ask Aja Kong. So I imagine Dakota plays up I'm Pro Raquel and then eventually she loses a Match or goes on a losing streak and eventually Raquel turns her and does the I was held back by now and I'm the Shawn and you were the Marty of the group. Eventually that leads them to Dakota and Raquel flip flopping the Championship I imagine for a few Months and Sareee scoops in and gets it and we will see what happens from there.
