NXT moving to The CW in 2024

Considering right now the CW is airing the show The Chosen but also airing a show called Fboy Island

I hear a lot of people on social media mocking the move, but some people (i.e. me) like the idea of wrestling being on free tv. I don't understand why people, who are more and more complaining about not having enough money, have been ditching free tv for paid streaming services.

I don't see how it can't be seen as a good move. CW is less watched than USA but it's in more homes so there's more potential for wrestling fans to watch and like I said before it will easily be CWs highest rated show IMO which gives them more leverage for the station. And even if viewership is lower than USA, the amount of money makes it more than worth it for their C show

Honestly not super fond of NXT Thursday. If only because it means I'd have to try and get there Thursday night and have an extra day on the trip.

I get it from the home viewer standpoint though.

When I did a browse of their top shows, most did not seem like they were first run on CW, it was stuff like the Chosen (which airs free on an app] and Young Sheldon

yeah there's been some funny ad reads on The CW's NCAA football game coverage. I really want to hear Booker T do one of these and put in some SHUCKY DUCKY QUACK QUACK or other stupid shit.

CW is leaving the teen drama world and is doing a lot of sports. They have some major college football, LIV Golf, they now got NXT, they also air Inside The NFL (long running NFL studio show originally on HBO). It'll be interesting to see what else they get.

I doubt any of these people complaining don’t have peacock or WWE Network.

As for me, I don’t a supercard as the same punch as a tv special. Unless it’s on a different night from the standard tv show, you give a full 3 hours. A supercard needs to be at least 3. And will there be commercials?

I think the final thing is a lot of people don’t have traditional cable anymore. These people are probably more likely to have Peacock than TV.
