NXT TAKEOVER: IN YOUR HOUSE ‣ SUNDAY 13 JUNE, 2021

As you'll soon discover, the below results are exactly as they were in real life. I'm going to keep things as they were to give a natural launchpad to start from but feel free to read on to refresh yourselves. Now I've moved across, I'm not too sure what my future plans are but I didn't want to lose my work, so I've decided to post a show at a time (apologies to anyone who may have already read them before).

Winner-takes-all.png

BRONSON REED © & MSK © [NASH CARTER & WES LEE] DEF. LEGADO DEL FANTASMA [SANTOS ESCOBAR, JOAQUIN WILDE & RAUL MENDOZA] IN A WINNER TAKES ALL TAG TEAM MATCH FOR THE NXT NORTH AMERICAN & TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS @ 13:40

High risk was paired with high reward in a historic 'Winners Take All' Six-Man Tag Team Match. Unfortunately for Legado del Fantasma, they were unable to extend their legacy when they faced the NXT North American Champion, Bronson Reed, who teamed with the NXT Tag Team Champions MSK.

Early into the match, the champions were able to work with slick cohesion, though it wasn't long before the action spilt out of the ring with some chaotic moves executed through the ropes.

While Legado del Fantasma would eventually take control, Aus-Zilla was able to hit a DOUBLE Samoan drop on Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde. However, the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Santos Escobar, fought back with a devastating Phantom Driver for a near fall.

Ultimately, it was the champions who walked away victorious after Reed had driven Escobar through the ringside barricade and put him away with the Tsunami.

wwe-nxt-takeover-in-your-house-2021-martinez-li.jpg
Martinez-vs-Li.png

XIA LI w/ BOA & MEI YING DEF. MERCEDES MARTINEZ @ 7:40
With a dark new demeanour, Xia Li looked to avenge the loss she suffered against Mercedes Martinez, four years ago in the first round of the inaugural Mae Young Classic.

Smelling blood in the water, Li tactically went for the injured mid-section of her opponent. In a critical moment, Li missed her target outside the ring and drove her leg into the unforgiving steel ring post to even the playing field. At the end of the match, a brutal kick from Li would send the veteran down for the three-count.

Post-match, Xia Li would attempt to introduce a steel chair into the equation, but Martinez managed to turn the tables, that was until the mysterious Mei Ying grabbed her by the throat and threw her into the plexiglass.

Million-Dollar-Championship.png

LA KNIGHT DEF. CAMERON GRIMES TO CAPTURE THE VACANT MILLION DOLLAR CHAMPIONSHIP @ 19:30

LA Knight defeated Cameron Grimes to hold the historic Million Dollar Championship - literally climbing the ladder to success as "The Million Dollar" Man and WWE Hall of Famer, Ted DiBiase, watched on.

The ladder was more than just a stepping stone to gold as both competitors tried to outdo each other in finding new ways to inflict pain with it. Knight executed a neck breaker onto the ladder, while Grimes retorted by dropping Knight onto his back repeatedly.

Grimes would take a leap of faith, crashing down on Knight but it would be Knight who walked away victorious after launching his opponent (who was mid-climb) onto a set of ladders outside of the ring. This pivotal moment would allow Knight to climb the rungs and become the fifth man ever to hold the belt.

NXT-Women-s-Championship.png

RAQUEL GONZÁLEZ W/ DAKOTA KAI DEF. EMBER MOON TO RETAIN THE NXT WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP @ 12:40

Big Mami Cool brought the heat to Ember Moon to end her opponent's dreams of becoming a two-time NXT Women's Champion. Of course, Raquel González wasn't without help as Dakota Kai made her presence known at ringside, assisting the champion at various points of the match.

While The Goddess of War did everything thart she could to overcome the odds (including throwing Kai over the announce table) but Dakota's relentless involvement proved to be the difference-maker when she planted González's foot on the bottom ropes following an Eclipse - thwarting Ember's hopes of scoring the victory.

Luckily, Ember's ally and former co-tag team champion, Shotzi Blackheart, came out to even the odds and took Kai out to the back where their battle continued.

Moon went to strike twice with another Eclipse attempt, but the champion was waiting and met her with a Chingona Bomb to score the three-count.

NXT-Championship.png

KARRION KROSS © W/ SCARLETT DEF. ADAM COLE, KYLE O'REILLY, JOHNNY GARGANO & PETE DUNNE TO RETAIN THE NXT CHAMPIONSHIP @ 26:15

Karrion Kross not only walked out of TakeOver with his NXT Championship but also with his undefeated streak still intact. Though the odds were stacked against him with Kyle O'Reilly, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne all hungry to take home the gold, in what would be a high-octane Fatal 5 Way Match.

The Bruiserweight would showcase his infamous joint manipulation on not one but TWO of his opponents, only for the champion to pick him up and use him as a weapon against them.

The action soon spilt over to the outside when Kross went through the front door of the In Your House set...and not in the way that you might have expected! The other men seized the opportunity to take advantage but would soon suffer for making the error of taking their eyes off of the champion. The Devil of Monterrey would clear house before hitting Gargano with a Tornado F-5. Johnny Wrestling being Johnny Wrestling, however, would not give up on his goal to recapture the title and soon fought back.

Recognizing Kross as a threat, the other four men banded together, which included a surprise (albeit brief) Undisputed ERA reunion for Cole and O'Reilly. The two men put their differences aside for 'the greater good' and slammed Kross onto the announce table.

When Kross took over and stood above the rest, the champion’s opponents momentarily banded together to hit him with a Superkick before Cole and O'Reilly reunited for a brief second to slam Kross atop the announce table.

In the final moments of the match, O'Reilly caught Cole in a submission, mere moments away from capturing the NXT Championship - only for Kross to appear and lock in the Kross Jacket on O'Reilly. O'Reilly's hold on Cole would soon fade as he passed out, causing the champion to retain via submission.

Post-match, General Manager William Regal was seen looking sullen as he cast doubt over his NXT future, stating that he was unable to take keep order any more.

NEWS & NOTES
TAKEOVER REACTION. REGAL'S NXT STATUS. RE-BRANDING? 205 LIVE AXED?
The overall response to NXT TakeOver: In Your House was positive, with Dave Meltzer hailing the Fatal 5 Way main event and the Winner Takes All opener as the strongest bouts of the evening.

Backstage the mood seems less enthusiastic, with the roster reportedly feeling 'on edge' following the releases in June. There are also rumours that Vince McMahon is keen to make changes to NXT brand following the loss of the Wednesday Night Wars to All Elite Wrestling's Dynamite. Additionally, officials are looking to use the brand to introduce new talent, as was originally intended. The divisive concept designs that have been circulating on social media have further fuelled the idea that the black and gold brand is about to undergo some big changes.

There was some surprise regarding the post-main event segment with William Regal. At the time of writing, some are believing that Regal could legitimately leave the company. Regal has since posted (seemingly in character) to his Twitter account:

WR.png

The future of 205 Live is also in doubt. Having been introduced as a cruiserweight exclusive brand back in 2018, it would eventually become part of the NXT brand following the division's move to NXT a year later. Officials have expressed an interest in keeping a secondary NXT show available as part of the content deal for the WWE Network on Peacock, though it seems the focus will shift away from the cruiserweight division.

NXT [EPISODE #461] ‣ "WHAT'S NeXT" PREVIEW
"The dust has barely settled after Takeover: In Your House 2021 but there's no time to sit and swell in the black and gold brand. I'm McKenzie Mitchell, looking ahead and what's next for NXT."

GYV-vs-Breezango.png
BREEZANGO [TYLER BREEZE & FANDANGO] vs. GRIZZLED YOUNG VETERANS [JAMES DRAKE & ZACK GIBSON]
"Sunday saw Wes Lee and Nash Carter retain the NXT Tag Team Championships in a Winner Takes All trios bout versus Legado Del Fantasma. This Tuesday, two more teams will battle it out, vying to get into that all-important contendership position. The last time Breezango met with The Grizzled Young Veterans, the former NXT UK Tag Teams Champions made it clear that they weren't here to play games. Will The Fashion Police be able get the last laugh and elevate themselves up the totem pole or will GYV make it two for two? Join us Tuesday to find out."

Hit-Row-vs-Rust-Ever-Rise.png
HIT ROW [ISAIAH SCOTT, ASHANTE ADONIS & TOP DOLLA] w/ B-FAB vs. EVER-RISE [CHASE PARKER & MATT MARTEL] & TYLER RUST w/ MALCOLM BIVENS
"It would be hard to argue that Hit Row have poised themselves as ones to watch in NXT and while they have impressed individually, they have yet to compete together. Well, that's all set to change this week when Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, Ashante "Thee" Adonis and Top Dolla team up in trios action to take on the strange bedfellow's team of Tyler Rust and Ever-Rise. It would appear the upwards trajectory of Hit Row has unsettled some backstage but whether they can overcome the adversity and continue their climb towards success will be determined this week."

Pete-Dunne-in-action.png
PETE DUNNE IN ACTION!
"Despite an impressive effort this past Sunday, "The Bruiserweight", Pete Dunne, was unable to walk out with the NXT Championship. Undeterred, the former NXT United Kingdom Champion will return to compete this week and while his opponent is yet to be confirmed if what I'm told is true, Dunne is in no mood to play games after Sunday's result. Given that Dunne was neither submitted or pinned at Takeover, one would have to assume that there's still a chance that he could eventually challenge Karrion Kross, but will his backstage animosity with Johnny Gargano and The Way continue to distract Dunne from his championship goals?"

Shotzi-vs-Dakota-Kai.png
SHOTZI vs. DAKOTA KAI | FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE
"This past Sunday saw NXT Women's Champion, Raquel González, retain the belt against "The Goddess of War" Ember Moon. Although the match was competitive, it certainly wasn't without its fair share of drama as González's cohort, Dakota Kai, made her presence felt on SEVERAL occasions - this didn't go unnoticed as Shotzi, came to even the odds. This week, General Manager, William Regal, has agreed to let both women fight it out in a Fall's Count Anywhere match that will see the action unfold all over the Capitol Wrestling Center. With no holds barred, both women will no doubt pull out all the stops to claim the bragging rights for their team."

LA-Knight-Teaser.png
LA KNIGHT'S MILLION DOLLAR CELEBRATION
"How does the newly crowned Million Dollar Champion celebrate his title victory? With a Million Dollar Celebration - of course! I've been assured that there have been no expenses spared as LA Knight invites the WWE Universe to his very own coronation. The belt's founder "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, has been invited to present Knight with the historic championship and according to my sources, Knight has more than a few words to say...."

Timothy-Thatcher-vs-Bobby-Fish.png
TIMOTHY THATCHER vs. BOBBY FISH
"From the outside, Bobby Fish and Timothy Thatcher, both share a common goal: to stand out on their own. It's been confirmed that Thatcher has opted to return to singles competition, ending what many thought was a successful pairing with Tommaso Ciampa. Meanwhile, the implosion of The Undisputed ERA has meant that Bobby Fish must find his own path on the black and gold brand. In what will surely prove to be a technical master class from both men, just who will be able to rack up with win in this power play of a main event?"

Regal-Teaser.png
WILLIAM REGAL SPEAKS!
"...And finally, the buzz on social media has been deafening since Takeover went off the air. NXT General Manager, William Regal, has posted that things have to change, which will almost certainly mean that NXT as we know it will be put into a tailspin. While some have speculated that Mr Regal may be relinquishing his position as General Manager, others have come up with more creative conclusions as to what this change could entail. It's no secret that Mr Regal has been left unimpressed with the actions of several of NXT's top stars - including our own champion, Karrion Kross. What will Mr Regal have to say when he addresses the crowd this Tuesday and will it truly be the end of the line?"

Thank you for the feedback so far! I really appreciate the compliments. This will be the last post from me for today, so hopefully should give a bit of time for anyone new reading to take it all in. I'm away from Thursday until the end of the month, so wanted to make sure that I'm getting some shows out before they're gone. Stay tuned for more!

NXT [EPISODE #461] TUESDAY 15 JUNE, 2021
CAPITOL PERFORMANCE CENTER ‣ ORLANDO, FLORIDA

Two days had passed since NXT Takeover: In Your House had seen all the black and gold branded champions successfully defend their championships, with the dominant Karrion Kross further cementing his position at the top of the food chain, taking out not one, not two, not even three but FOUR of NXT's top tier talent - two of which were former champions in their own right. We find ourselves once again at the Capitol Performance Center as we're welcomed to the show by Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett, and "The Glamazon" Beth Phoenix.

Joseph says that the recent actions and words of General Manager, William Regal, have led to speculation within the WWE Universe but Mr Regal WILL set the record straight when he hosts a town hall meeting later tonight. The trio begins to run down the card as Pete Dunne returns to the ring, looking to get back on the side of victory after Sunday's loss and we learn that Regal has agreed to a Falls Count Anywhere Match between Shotzi and Dakota Kai following their brawl during the Women's Championship match. Plus, LA Knight welcomes us to the Million Dollar Celebration as he celebrates becoming the first man to hold the belt in 11 years!

First, Breezango will take on The Grizzled Young Veterans in tag team action that champions MSK will surely be watching closely.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following tag team match is scheduled for one fall. First, making their way to the ring at a combined weight of...

Before she can continue the formal ring introductions, Alicia is cut off by the aggressive tone of Liverpool's Number One, Zack Gibson, who can be heard bellowing over the top of "Grit Your Teeth" as it plays out across the Capitol Performance Center.

ZACK GIBSON
"Cut our music...Cut out music!" the fans already begin to boo as Gibson and Drake emerge from behind the curtain. "MSK, James, and I just wanted to say congratulations on your victory, this past Sunday at Takeover: In Your House. It was nice to see the values of tag team wrestlin' upheld in a five-star TRIOS match - where would our division be without the two of you?...or should that be where would you be without Bronson Reed?" Gibson shrugs and laughs to himself as he and Drake enter the ring. "Maybe if the two of you spent less time with your heads in the cloud and more time watchin' our matches, you might learn a thing or two." There's a mixed reception from the crowd, some of whom still seem to harbour a grudge against the champions. "So consider this your education lads because this is how tag team wrestling is done." Gibson goes to give the microphone away but pauses. "Oh and Breezango, we've been here before, we've played along with your games and we still beat you. So instead of acting like a pair of divs, why don't you skip the cosplay..."

The boos begin to pour in and the crowd now stands united against GYV.

ZACK GIBSON
"....Skip the prancing around..."

This seems to rile the crowd up even more.

ZACK GIBSON
"And come out here and face a true tag team."

ALICIA TAYLOR
"And their opponents, at a combined weight of 456 pounds, BRRRRRRRREEZANGO!"

The smoke rises from the curtain as "Prince Pretty" Tyler Breeze and Fandango make their way out in some rather fetching jackets, not too dissimilar from the ones that their opponents don - Fandango just so happens to have a scarf to match while Breeze opts in favor of a red feather boa. Gibson and Drake looked enraged as Fandango begins to *ahem* towel off with the scarf before throwing it into the crowd. Having seen enough Gibson and Drake slide to the outside to meet Breeze and Fandango, bringing the fight to them!

GYV-vs-Breezango.png

BREEZANGO [TYLER BREEZE & FANDANGO] vs. GRIZZLED YOUNG VETERANS [JAMES DRAKE & ZACK GIBSON]

The four men exchange forearms on the outside as referee Tom Castor tries to get the action back in the ring, so the match can officially start. Gibson delivers a patronizing slap around Fandango's face, which stops Drake and Breeze's brawl, there's a pregnant pause before Breezango gives each other a knowing glance and delivers stereo superkicks!.... Only for the legs to be caught by The Grizzled Young Veterans. James Drake delivers a dragon screw to Breeze, who writes in pain, while Fandango's leg is thrust down onto the apron. Gibson rolls Dango into the ring so the match can finally start.

The fortunes of Breezango don't start particularly well, Fandango crawls after having his leg thrown into the apron, potentially blowing out his knee. Unfortunately for him, he manages to crawl right into a low dropkick from the vocal Zack Gibson, who follows up with a grounded clothesline. Gibson looks to the opposing corner, noticing that Breeze is taking his time to recover from the dragon screw, and smiles, realizing he doesn't have to rush or worry about Dango finding a way out. Extending Dango's leg, Liverpool's Number One begins to viciously stomp on the knee before dragging his opponent to his corner for the tag to James Drake.

Drake doesn't go easy on Fandango either, aided by his tag team partner who holds their opponent in place, Drake hits a step-up enzuigiri and rolls Dango over for the cover. ONE...TWO...

FANDANGO MANAGES TO STAY ALIVE!
Drake shoots a look at the referee, Tom Castor, before rolling Fandango over for a single-leg Boston Crab. The Blackpool native amps up the pressure on the former NXT Tag Team Champion as Barrett puts over the skill of the NXT UK alumni. The crowd is thrashing on the Plexiglas in support of the Dancing Dynamo. Meanwhile, Tyler Breeze has made it to the apron and tries to encourage his tag partner to keep in the match. It seems that Drake allows the crowd to psych him out as the submission hold loosens, giving enough room for an opportunity...INSIDE CRADLE!

ONE...

TWO...

KICK-OUT!

Drake powers out as Fandango holds his knee, the pinning predicament taking its toll. Fandango manages to kick Drake but as he drags himself towards Breeze in his corner...BUT GIBSON DRAGS BREEZE OFF THE APRON ON THE OUTSIDE! The fans are furious, while Drake whips Fandango into the corner looking for a jumping corner back elbow - Fandango dodges it and hits a good old-fashioned running bulldog. Gibson is back in his corner, trying to get the tag and Fandango struggles to his feet and swings his hips for the crowd - a move that doesn't go over well with a cautious Beth Phoenix on commentary, who fears he may be wasting valuable time. Prince Pretty once again makes it to the corner as he gets the hot tag!

Breeze enters and immediately dropkicks Gibson off of the apron to prevent Drake from making a tag. Breeze also appears to be favoring his leg. Drake is brought back to his feet, managing to power out and strike back with a forearm smash but Breeze dodges and comes back with a neck breaker for a generous two count. Both men back on their feet, Breeze disorientates his opponent with an Irish whip before Drake straight into a knee to the gut...DOUBLE KNEE BACKSTABBER! Executed expertly by Perfection Personified. Cover:

ONE...

TWO...

NO!

Desperate, Breeze lifts Drake and sets him up for an Unprettier but Gibson is on the top rope and pounces with a lung blower (dubbed "
The Merseyside Drop") - Breeze catches him mid-air with a dropkick to the ribs as Gibson rolls back out the ring in pain. Breeze turns round and is rocked with an exploder suplex, who follows up with a pin, but Castor only counts two. Drake stomps on the knee of Prince Pretty and lifts him for a delayed suplex. Joseph notes the effects of the blood rushing to Tyler's head may throw him off for the rest of the match, but before he can finish his trail of thought, Breeze drops down...SUPER MODEL KICK! Exhausted, he collapses into the tag from Fandango who climbs the ropes (albeit rather slowly).

However, Zack Gibson won't let it end like this as he begins to cause the distraction, causing Fandango to take his eye off the ball. Drake tries to drag Fandango off the rope, but sensing danger in the high-risk district, Fandango hops off the top but Drake once more grabs the targeted leg and hits a second dragon screw! Drake tags in Gibson, lifting Fandango and executing
TICKET TO MAYHEM! GIBSON NOW HAD THE LEG HOOKED...
ONE...

TWO...

THREE.

IT'S OVER.

The fans begin to boo as Drake helps Gibson to his feet, Castor raises their arms in victory, but it isn't long before he is shooed away for his efforts. Backstage, the NXT Tag Team Champions,
MSK is shown watching on the monitor - not looking as relaxed as they usually appear.

Back in the ring, Gibson and Drake reclaim their scarves (which you may find on ShopWWE) and hold them above their heads, the perfect placeholder until they get their shot at gold. Vic Joseph puts over that GYV's decisive victory has to put them at the forefront of the tag team division but Beth notes that the victory wasn't earned without foul play being involved. Barrett rubbishes Beth's claims and points out that Gibson remained in his corner, and it was Fandango's inability to focus that cost Breezango the match. Breeze tends to Fandango in the ring, but his expression evidences a growing sense of frustration.

Backstage the cameras catch the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Santos Escobar, walking the halls and talking to stablemates Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza. It would appear that Legado Del Fantasma has just caught the opening bout.

SANTOS ESCOBAR
"...And I suppose they think that one little victory is going to make them worthy of the gold. Don't worry, I'll make sure you get your title shot and this time, MKS won't have their little friend there to help them out, and then after that..."

Wilde and Mendoza look to each other, nearly bumping into El Hijo Del Fantasma, who halts to see the members of Hit Row standing by, there's some lowkey chuckling that doesn't go unnoticed.

TOP DOLLA
"Little friend? Judging from the whoppin' Reed gave you Sunday, I'm surprised any of y'all can walk around here."

SANTOS ESCOBAR
"¿Con quién crees que estás hablando?" Escobar turns to his teammates, trying to show Hit Row up as a spectacle to embarrassment. "Exactly, when did I ask for your opinion?"

TOP DOLLA
"Oh, you didn't ask for my opinion..."

Ashante "Thee" Adonis
steps forward to join the verbal beatdown.

ASHANTE ADONIS
"...But you're sure as hell going to get it."

Hit Row explodes into raucous laughter, which Escobar quickly tries to silence.

SANTOS ESCOBAR
"You niños are pretty funny with your jokes but remind me, when was the last time any of you challenged for gold? Actually, when was the last time you featured on a pay-per-view?"

JOAQUIN WILDE
"They've not even wrestled a match together."

ISAIAH SCOTT
"Okay, okay. Timeout." Swerve forms a 'T' with his hands. "Man, you guys are uptight. Now, I don't know if you missed the memo but we've actually got ourselves a match tonight. So why don't the three of you sit yourselves down in your nice fancy suits, put your feet up and watch how Hit Row handle their business before you get into it."

TOP DOLLA
"Tonight we'll bring you Hit Row, slapping L's on a pair of Canucks and Tyler..."

ASHANTE ADONIS
"Damn, Breeze? He's already been out there"

TOP DOLLA
"No. The other one."

ISAIAH SCOTT
"So grab your popcorn, because Hit Row is going to put on a show."

Weary of the conversation, Escobar goes to interject when B-Fab makes her presence known.

B-FAB
"And if you didn't know..."

HIT ROW (In unison)
"Now you know!"

Hit Row turns to each other and rallies one another up as they push past the infuriated Legado Del Fantasma. Escobar looks to Wilde and Mendoza.

SANTOS ESCOBAR
"Can you believe the way they spoke to me? TO ME!?..." he scoffs. "Idiotas."

Before he can get an answer, Escobar walks ahead with Mendoza in tow, Wilde appears confused.

JOAQUIN WILDE
"Are we going to watch their match?"

Escobar stops, turns, and looks at Wilde. One expression said as much as it needed to say. Meanwhile, commentary hype the trios debut of Hit Row as they battle against Ever-Rise and Tyler Rust later this evening.

We are shown still shots of the main event from Sunday's NXT Takeover: In Your House (because you need to pay if you want to see the action). We're shown some of the carnage from the match, including the moment when Karrion Kross retained the title by locking in the Kross Jacket on Kyle O'Reilly, who was trying to submit Adam Cole to win the gold.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing to the ring first from Birmingham, England, weighing in at 205 pounds...PETE DUNNE!"

A p*ssed off Pete Dunne charges towards the ring to a lukewarm reception. Dunne, clearly unhappy to not have gold around his waist sets his sights on the upstart in the ring.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"And his opponent, already standing in the ring, from Osseo, Minnesota. Weighing in at 255 pounds...CAL BLOOM."

Bloom gets next to no reaction as the towering 6'5 athlete raises his arm to try and generate some love from the fans. Vic Joseph points out the obvious physical advantages that Cal Bloom has as he makes his debut on the black and gold brand. Beth brings forth the elephant in the room (to the IWC at least) and discloses that Bloom is the son of WWF/E and WCW alum, Wayne Bloom.

Pete-Dunne-vs-Cal-Bloom.png

PETE DUNNE vs. CAL BLOOM

As the opening bell tolls, Barrett says that Bloom needs to use his height and weight to his advantage, but it seems that the two-year rookie wants to begin the match with a mark of respect and extends his hand to the Bruiserweight. Dunne snarls, grabbing Bloom's hand and appearing to accept the gesture in a shocking move, Bloom smiles and is shown talking to his opponent but his face quickly sours when he notices the pressure on his hand - Dunne refusing to release. Bloom attempts to escape but Dunne transitions the move into a wristlock and quickly brings Bloom to his knees. The crowd warms up, knowing what's coming as Dunne begins to manipulate the rookie's fingers...FINGER SNAP!

Grabbing the wrist again, the former NXT United Kingdom Champion then hits a single arm takedown before backing off as per the referee's orders. Bloom is in pain, but it appears his pride won't allow him to give us as he struggles back to his feet. Dunne reaches his arms out in anticipation, like a shark smelling blood in the water...BITTER END! Dunne makes the cover for the easy victory.

ALICIA TAYLOR

"Your winner, by pinfall, PETE DUNNE!"

"Better luck next time" jibes Wade Barrett, much to the annoyance of his broadcast colleagues. Dunne rises back to his feet, looking around the crowd and smiling. Beth comments that Pete Dunne arrived tonight, hellbent on redeeming Sunday's loss and proving that he still sits at the front of the queue for the NXT Championship. Dunne looks as if he's about to make his exit from the ring before he turns around and viciously stomps on the fingers of young Cal Bloom. Referee, Dallas Irvin, warns Dunne but to no avail as Dunne locks in an ARMBAR! Bloom is fading fast as Irvin tries to prize the Bruiserweight off.

BETH PHOENIX

"C'mon! Enough is enough."

WADE BARRETT
"Listen, Dunne has a chip on his shoulder and he's just showing Mr. Bloom here, where he stands in the pecking order."

Before Vic can even add his thoughts, the boos aimed at Dunne turn to cheers as Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory (of The Way) sprint down to the ring. Dunne manages to make a hasty exit, unscathed as Gargano leads the charge and demands Dunne get back in the ring. Instead, the young Brit snarls and heads to the back while medics check on Cal Bloom.

Attention then turns to tonight's main event, which sees Bobby Fish take on Timothy Thatcher in singles action.

We cut to a video package, first showing Bobby Fish addressing the camera. Fish noticeably isn't wearing his Undisputed Era armband. Despite injuries, Fish looks confident as he stares down the barrel of the camera.

Bobby-Fish-segment.png

BOBBY FISH
"For the past few months now, all anyone can talk to me about is everything that's gone on between Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly - asking me what this means for The Undisputed Era if I'm Team Adam or Team Kyle and all I can say is - I'm Team Bobby. Now, The Undisputed Era was good to me, I'm a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion and a two-time NXT Tag Team of the Year award winner, but you've only seen 10% of what Bobby Fish can do. What Kyle and Adam want to do, is between the two of them, but it's time for "The Infamous" Bobby Fish to arise. Timothy, tonight, you're just the first in a long line of men who will come to realize what I'm capable of."

Thatcher retorts in his own pre-recorded video package. Thatcher stands in a warehouse, presumably, the location of his Thatch-as-Thatch can segment. There's a projection of Bobby Fish and the Undisputed Era displayed on the door.

Thatcher-segment.png

TIMOTHY THATCHER
"Good evening. Now tonight's Thatch-as-Thatch can is a special one, it's dedicated especially to you Bobby. You see, both of us, we're not so different; we're hailed for our technical prowess. We've both been around the block and let's face it - we've both found ourselves being overshadowed by overbearing partners..."

The projection briefly switches to one of Tommaso Ciampa, the aforementioned 'overbearing tag team partner' of Thatcher.

TIMOTHY THATCHER

"All the best in your future endeavors Tommaso, but teaming with you reminded me that I didn't come here to be your fall guy. I came to FIGHT. Bobby, I know you have a point to prove but actually - so do I - and I would hope that you don't take me lightly because while you may have your MMA background, your strikes, and your Fish Hooks, I'm not one of your Undisputed Era groupies. I'm not afraid to expose your weaknesses and unfortunately for you, your injuries are well documented and to me, that makes you vulnerable. Fight smart Bobby" Thatcher taps his head with his index finger. "Because I will be."

MCKENZIE MITCHELL
"Pete Dunne, congratulations on your victory earlier tonight but we have to talk about what happened after the match..."

Pete-Dunne-segment.png

PETE DUNNE
"You want to talk? Well come on then, let's talk about it. Let's talk about how I was screwed out of my NXT Championship opportunity. Let's talk about how I was never pinned. Let's talk about how I never tapped out. Yet here I am..." Dunne puts himself on display. "...without the championship..."

Dunne's trail of thought poses when he sees Oney Lorcan standing just out of shot. The cameras pan around. Lorcan takes a step forward and gestures for McKenzie to tilt the microphone in his direction. Meanwhile, Dunne looks less than impressed.

ONEY LORCAN
"I just want to talk..."

PETE DUNNE
"You want to talk? Well, I have a few questions of my own." Dunne takes a step forward as McKenzie edges backward, serving only as a microphone stand at this point. "Where were you out there? I had your back last week against that idiot, Theory, I guess it was too much to ask for you to pay me the same respect." he scoffs. "It's funny because since Pat left and Danny got injured, you had a chance to step up, to be my shadow, and to fly with the eagles - to sit with the king but maybe your time has already passed."

Not even willing to stick around and listen to Lorcan's response, Pete Dunne makes a move to leave but Lorcan eagerly blocks him.

ONEY LORCAN
"Wait! I appreciate you having my back and I'm sorry I wasn't out there when those two goofs came running out after you, I thought you could hold your own out there. Truth be told, I just don't know where I stand here with Burch out. Though let's not forget, I have a good decade of experience over y-...."

Dunne holds up his hands, cutting Lorcan off.

PETE DUNNE
"I'll accept your apology, but to be quite frank, I'm sure if you have what it takes either. You said it yourself, without Burch, you're not really anyone." Oney looks a little taken aback by Dunne's interpretation. "This isn't about not being able to handle a pair of clowns like Gargano and Austin, this is about loyalty, and I think I need to see a bit more of it from you before I make a decision."

Despite his confusion, Lorcan can't help but be morbidly curious regarding Dunne's intentions for him.

ONEY LORCAN
"And what do you propose exactly?"

A rare smile spreads across the face of The Bruiserweight, his demeanour becomes more relaxed, but still with an edge of self-assurance.

PETE DUNNE
"That's the spirit! Leave it with me, I'll speak to Regal and get you a match. We'll see if you still have what it takes."

Dunne pats Lorcan on the shoulder and walks off. Oney turns to McKenzie and looks to see if she feels like there may have been two different conversations going on.

We cut back to the ring where Malcolm Bivens is standing by, alongside his client Tyler Rust. "Rise" begins to play across the PA system, with the WWE Universe going mild for Matt Martel and Chase Parker aka Ever-Rise.

ALICIA TAYLOR

"The following trios match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first - accompanied by Malcolm Bivens - weighing in at a combined weight of 618 pounds - TLYER RUST & EVER-RISE!"

Bivens greats the Canadian duo in the ring as all three men strike a pose, trying not to look like a thrown-together tandem. Speaking of chemistry...

There's a sudden change of tone from the crowd as "Now You Know" begins to play.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"Their opponents, accompanied to the ring by B-Fab. ASHANTE "THEE" ADONIS, TOP DOLLA & ISAIAH "SWERVE" SCOTT - HIT ROWWWWW!"

The quartet takes a stroll out through the curtain, Adonis and B-Fab leading and they crouch into a pose - all four breaking the fourth wall. B-Fab begins to recite her own lyrics while Top Dolla rubs his palms together, looking at the trio in the ring. Hit Row stands on opposing sides of the apron, "Thee" Adonis and "Swerve" fist-bump on one side, while Top Dolla holds the ropes open for B-Fab. Once they've regrouped, the tandem exchange high fives and pose to the hard camera in the far corner (much to the disdain of Bivens, who checks his watch at ringside).

Hit-Row-vs-Rust-Ever-Rise.png

HIT ROW [ISAIAH SCOTT, ASHANTE ADONIS & TOP DOLLA] w/ B-FAB vs. EVER-RISE [CHASE PARKER & MATT MARTEL] & TYLER RUST w/ MALCOLM BIVENS

Ever-Rise seizes the opportunity to pounce on Scott and Adonis at the start of the match, with Martel and Parker hammering away until Top Dolla delivers a hard shoulder tackle on Martel, triggering Parker to shoot his shot but ultimately find himself thrown over the top rope to the outside. Referee, Jessika Carr tries to restore some order and establish the legal men, but it would appear Top Dolla has already made that decision and stares across at a reluctant Tyler Rust.

Charging Rust into his own corner, he begins hammering away before dragging Rust into a short-arm clothesline. Bivens attempts to motivate his client at ringside while commentary questions whether Legado Del Fantasma will be watching after their backstage confrontation with Hit Row earlier tonight.

Rust struggles back up into a crouched position, giving Top Dolla the perfect opportunity to hit a running knee. Bivens meanwhile demands that Ever-Rise get involved in the match as they hang outside the ring, avoiding getting into their corner. Top Dolla gets the tag before hitting a sidewalk slam to set Rust up for "Thee" Adonis, Ashante. Adonis hypes the crowd before running the ropes and giving the live crowd some theatrics, hitting a delayed fist drop. Cover....1....2...KICKOUT! Adonis holds back and allows Rust to get back to a semi-vertical base...ROUNDHOUSE KICK! But Rust impressively manages to avoid it and rolls Adonis up...

ONE...

TWO...

Have the Odd Squad done it!?

EVER-RISE ARE UP ON THE APRON JUMPING FOR JOY.

NO.
Of course, he didn't.

Adonis manages to kick out as he rolls to tag in "Swerve". Rust crawls over to Ever-Rise, who drops back down off of the apron and refuses to get involved. At this point, Bivens is livid and begins to scald Parker and Martel who back away from the ring - until B-Fab stops them and gestures to Top Dolla who is waiting behind them. Bivens makes no effort to get involved, but Ever-Rise glance at one another and try to pounce on Top Dolla - WHO MANAGES TO CATCH BOTH!? WASTELAND/WORLD'S STRONGEST SLAM COMBINATION ON THE OUTSIDE!

Rust, who has been attempting to hold his own against Scott is distracted by what's happening on the outside as he turns into a running knee strike from Isaiah Scott, who quickly follows up with a springboard European Uppercut. Adonis tags in as Scott lifts Rust, looking for a powerbomb only for Adonis to connect with a stunner of his own. COVER: 1.2.3. That's all she wrote.

After the match, Vic Joseph notes that this was the first time that the three men of Hit Row had tagged together in six-man action. Barrett ponders whether Legado Del Fantasma will respond now that they're under threat from a new stable. Hit Row regroups in the ring to celebrate while Bivens has his head in his hands - clearly not the result he was hoping for.

Commentary reminds us of Xia Li's victory from Sunday, further establishing her newfound dominance since training under Tian Sha. However, the fallen Mercedes Martinez has some choice words to say. Martinez looks a little worse for wear, banged up following her match against the dominant Li.

Martinez-segment.png

MERCEDES MARTINEZ

"Xia Li. Last Sunday, you took me to my limit. In 20 years, I have NEVER faced anyone with the same level of intensity as you. You are not the same woman I face all those years ago at the Mae Young Classic..."

We see footage of the 2017 event, where the two women first met and Martinez standing tall, before this transitions into the brutal collision at Takeover this past weekend.

MERCEDES MARTINEZ

"I can give credit where credit is due, you had my number...this time and that was a nice little stunt your puppet master pulled afterward." we cut to footage of Mei Ying throwing Mercedes into the Plexiglas "Now I'm sure we'll have our rubber match eventually, but to all the ladies in the back, who think this one little loss is going to send me packing? Think again. I am LA SICARIA. I will fight, whoever it takes to get back to where I need to be. I might have been knocked down, but you won't knock me out."

There's a stern, confident expression on La Sicaria's face as the video package comes to an end. Beth wishes Mercedes a speedy recovery before hyping the Falls Count Anywhere Match as we get a split-screen of both Dakota Kai and Shotzi, walking backstage before we cut to a commercial break.

Back from commercial, we're reminded of Raquel González's victory over Ember Moon at Takeover. The current NXT Women's Champion defeated an NXT Grand Slam Women's Champion, but not without shenanigans from Dakota Kai at ringside. Thankfully for Moon, she had support from former co-champion, Shotzi Blackheart (who had suddenly had her surname axed by the PTB), who would fend off the Kiwi Baddie as the two took the brawl to the backstage area. William Regal, who seemed to be over the chaos and questioning his career at this point, decided that if the two women wanted to fight like alley cats, then that's what they'll do here tonight.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following match is scheduled for one fall and it is a FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH. This means there will be NO COUNTOUTS. NO DISQUALIFICATIONS. A victory can be obtained by pinfall or submissions in any location. Introducing first from the Black Lagoooooooon SH..."

As expected, before Alicia Taylor can even finish the ring introduction, Dakota Kai charges out but this time - Shotzi's ready for her! The two women collide on the entrance stage, Shotzi executing a Lou Thesz Press before both exchange a flurry of forearms. The referee, Jason Ayres, calls for the bell.

Shotzi-vs-Dakota-Kai.png

SHOTZI vs. DAKOTA KAI | FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE

The two women break apart momentarily before locking up in a test of strength, with neither woman backing down. Kai shows some cunning, stomping on Shotzi's foot and throwing her into the Plexiglas with a handful of her signature green hair. The New Zealand native stands back, looking for one of her patented kicks but Shotzi telegraphs it and moves out of the way - Kai is able to stop herself from colliding with the barrier but fails to execute the elbow she had hoped for. Shotzi is able to hit a step-up enzuigiri and cover a two count. This is far from over.

Shotzi howls out to the crowd as she makes her way to the ring, looking under the apron for some weapons to bring into play, the crowd is audibly more excited but Kai sneaks up behind her with a roll-up...

ONE...

TWO...

NO!

Shotzi quickly rolls backward, out of the pinning predicament but is thrown face-first into the apron, her face taking some damage for a second time this match. With barely any time to gather herself, Shotzi walks straight into a SCORPION KICK BY KAI! Dakota now fishes for goodies underneath the ring and pulls out a kendo stick (Barrett jokes as to why NXT has use for a kendo stick). KAI STRIKES SHOTZI RIGHT ACROSS THE SHOULDER BLADES! The former Shine standout howls, but this time it's for all the wrong reasons. Kai takes another swing and this time breaks the stick across Shotzi's back, quickly bundling her over and making the pin for a quick two-count.

Beth highlights Dakota's aggressiveness, pointing out that she's experienced in similar matches, having wrestled former friend and teammate, Tegan Nox, in a Street Fight last year - in which she was victorious. Vic highlights Dakota's friendship with the NXT Women's Champion, reminding us that Raquel was the hired gun for Kai, putting a question mark over how their dynamic works now. This leads Beth to speculate that Dakota is now even more determined to stand out and prove herself.

Kai attempts to throw Shotzi into the corner of the guard rail but Shotzi manages to power out and instead pushes Kai into the railing. Leaning Kai back, she licks her hand and delivers some stiff chops to the chest of "The Captain of Team Kick", before wiping her lip and checking for blood. Charging up, Shotzi hits a snapmare before attempting to climb onto the guardrail (with help of the Plexiglas) and waiting for Kai to come to.

Dakota drags herself back to her feet but not for long...DIVING SENTON FROM SHOTZI! Shaky execution but a perfect landing into a cover.

1...

2....

KAI GETS THE SHOULDER UP!

Shotzi drags Dakota to her feet and tosses her up the entrance ramp, slowly making her way up and giving Dakota enough time to greet her, raking the eyes to regain control of the match. Dakota grabs Shotzi and walks her around the set, throwing her into a conveniently arranged line of storage trunks. Bad intentions in mind now as Dakota unlocks one of the trunks, lifting Shotzi, who feebly tries to battle out. Dakota places Shotzi's head down...SHE'S LOOKING THROW THROW THE LID SHUT ON THE BACK OF HER NECK!

NO!

...

BUT WAIT!
Shotzi manages to escape and surprise Dakota with a cutter. Shotzi attempts the pin, but Kai is somehow managing to roll away. Kai attempts to help herself up grabbing onto a table now backstage, she seats herself up as SHOTZI COLLIDES WITH A CANNONBALL!

1....2....3.....

NO! KAI MANAGES TO ESCAPE JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME!

Shotzi begins to grow frustrated as she travels backstage looking for weapons and empties a trash can all over the floor (who's going to clean that up?). Shotzi places the can over Dakota's head and nails a Question Mark Kick! There's a very visible dent in the can as Kai falls to the floor once more. Shotzi holds her back, feeling the damage of being thrown around earlier in the match, and judges whether she has it in her to hoist her opponent onto her shoulders. Going for it, Shotzi has the NZ Baddie in a TKO position, is she looking to throw Kai down onto the knee?

We'll never know! Dakota Kai manages to drown down behind and use Shotzi's momentum against her. "MOVE!" yells Dakota as the cameras pan to see Robert Stone checking himself out in the mirror. Stone has no time to think it through and yelps, running off like a proverbial scolded dog. Referee, Jason Ayres, tries to warn Kai against whatever she's thinking as she CHARGES SHOTZI HEAD-FIRST INTO THE MIRROR! SHOTZI'S HEAD POKES THROUGH THE FRAME. KAI FOLLOWS UP WITH AN AXE KICK TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD!

COVER:

3...

NOW IT'S OVER AS THE BELL TOLLS.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"Your winner via pinfall...DAKOTA KAI!"

Jason Ayres raises Dakota's hand as she takes a breath, looking at the floored Shotzi, who has immediate medical attention. Kai shoos Ayres off before making her way back out through the curtain to a chorus of boos. Kai snatches the microphone from Alicia Taylor before rolling into the ring. Kai struggles to speak initially, pausing to allow the fans to voice their opinion, allowing them to fade out first.

DAKOTA KAI
"That is what happens when you stick your nose where it doesn't belong. I hope you learned a lesson there Shotzi, you're just not good enough - just like Ember wasn't good enough on Sunday. This brings me to my next point...Raquel, if you will...."

There's an initial awkward pause...

...but of course, Raquel is going to join her friend after her victory. There's a mixed reaction to "Big Mami Cool" as she makes her way out to greet the WWE Universe. Raquel isn't dressed to fight, but she does carry the NXT Women's Championship proudly over her shoulder. Kai looks pleased to see her, but not enough to hold the ropes open for González as she steps into the ring.

DAKOTA KAI
"I know I could have done this privately backstage but, well, you're the champion! You deserve the limelight and the attention more than anyone, and now that we've beaten both Ember and Shotzi, we can focus our attention on the tag team division. We have NOTHING left to prove in singles competition, we've beaten everyone there is left to be..."

Tegan-Nox-Return.png

VIC JOSEPH
"No way!?"

BETH PHOENIX
"It is!"

The fans come alive as the Girl with the Shiniest Wizard makes her return after 10 months away due to injury. Nox beams a smile as she looks out the crowd, holding a microphone, speaking for the first time since tearing her ACL back in September.

TEGAN NOX
"I can't tell you how good it feels TO. BE. BACK!"

The crowd cheer, but Dakota looks less than pleased by the interruption. Raquel, on the other hand, seems more curious.

TEGAN NOX
"Honestly, I wasn't planning on doing this, but seeing what you did to Shotzi back there and then having to listen to you boast how great the two of you are? Well, Dakota, I only see one person in that ring with a championship..." the crowd seemed to enjoy that one. "You think you and Raquel are done? Well, I'm not done with either one of you!"

Tegan takes in the crowd backing her, nodding and reassuring herself while González seems to have gotten her back up and takes a step forward. Kai holds her arm out to keep the NXT Women's Champion from making any dangerous decisions.

DAKOTA KAI
"It's okay Raquel, I got this. Of course, you're back! I mean, it makes sense, I can't blink without you trying to steal the attention away - how's the knee, Tegan? What's this? The second or third time you've been out?" she feigns confusion. "I can't quite remember because you seem to work fewer days than Brock Lesnar around here." the fans boo. "You think you can hobble out here and start making threats against me!? AGAINST YOUR CHAMPION!? Well, I'm afraid you're going to have to take a ticket if you want to face Raquel, Tegan."

TEGAN NOX
"As I was saying, I'm not done with either one of you, which is why when I've beaten you, Dakota." pregnant pause. "I'll be coming after you, Raquel."

Raquel stands forward and raises her title as Nox smiles, happy that she's provoked such a strong reaction from the Women's Champion. Kai meanwhile is visibly angry at the exchange as she tries to talk to González, who has a laser focus on the Welsh Wonder.

Commentary discusses the excitement in the Capitol Wrestling Centre to have Tegan Nox back on the roster. Nox gives a wave before heading out as Kai and González go to leave when we see watching them from afar - Tian Sha, specifically Xia Li, who seems to have a keen interest in the Women's Championship.

We head to the commercial with Team #BigTrouble put on notice and unaware of a dangerous new threat.

McKenzie Mitchell is standing alongside General Manager, William Regal, outside of his office backstage. Joining them is the NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Kushida, who has the purple strap draped over his shoulder.

MCKENZIE MITCHELL

"Joining me at this time, NXT General Manager William Regal and the NXT Cruiserweight Champion of the World, Kushida. Now, Mr Regal, tonight's a big night for you, you have asked for time at the end of the show to address the WWE Universe. Any chance of an exclusive?"

McKenzie laughs nervously, knowing that she may have pushed her luck a bit too far. Regal looks slightly awkward as he adjusts his tie and thinks of an answer.

WILLIAM REGAL
"It is a big night tonight and while I admire your journalistic prowess, McKenzie, I'm afraid I must decline to comment at this time. However, what I will tell you is why I'm standing here with this young fellow." Regal gestures to The Time Splitter. "Now Kushida here has stated that he prides himself on elevating the Cruiserweight division here in NXT and I'm inclined to do the same. Therefore, starting this Friday Night on 205 Live - Kushida will defend his championship to all comers - weighing up to 205lbs, naturally. Therefore, this is an open call to step up and lay your claim."

Regal then turns to Kushida.

WILLIAM REGAL
"Oh, and I've lined up quite the opponent for your first exhibition. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised."

The General Manager nods politely at Kushida before turning to McKenzie and doing the same and walking off. McKenzie looks excited for Kushida, who simply watches on, clearly questioning who his first open challenge opponent could be.

LA-Knight-segment.png

The ring has been dressed especially for this occasion, with a red carpet, champagne on ice, and even "The Million Dollar Man" (and Hall of Famer) Ted DiBiase, who stands beside a table displaying the championship belt on a plush red velvet cushion - no expense spared.

A special VIP section has been set up, but so far it seems like Franky Monet and her precious pet Pomeranian Prince Presley are the only guests on honor. Aliyah and Jessi Kamea are then welcomed in by security at Monet's request but their agent, Robert Stone, isn't afforded the same privilege and is turned away.

Barrett says this is part of the show he's been looking forward to the most as the new Million Dollar Champion, LA Knight, (albeit unofficial) makes his way out to the ring. Vic commends Cameron Grimes on his valiant effort but says ultimately Knight climbed the ladder (literally) to success.

Upon climbing into the ring, DiBiase offers his hand. Knight slowly peels down his sunglasses, looking straight through the Hall of Famer before snatching the microphone from his other hand.

LA KNIGHT

"Well it's certainly not the kind of turnout I wanted but I guess you can't be choosy when you're in Florida, right?" he beams a smile as he looks around a rather displeased crowd. "I'm joking, I'm joking! Don't come for me on Twitter. What other champion tonight has come out here and given you the time of day? MSK? Nope. Karrion Kross? Nowhere to be seen. Kushida's hidden out the back and Bronson Reed, I assume is still pretending that he's the big bad wolf that we're all running scared from. You might all think that Karrion Kross has 'it', but the guy is nutter than a Planters factory. But fear no more, you no longer need to worry about finding a champion that represents you, the people. I'm not just the champion you want, I'm the champion you NEED." he pauses and looks around the crowd. "And yes, there's some of you out there, who honestly thought Captain Caveman stood a chance of beating me on Sunday, but I'm prepared to move past that for the greater good. Because being a champion means something to me..."

The crowd isn't convinced but Ted DiBiase stands like a proud parent and applauds Knight for continuing his legacy.

LA KNIGHT
"Ted! How are you, buddy? I didn't even see you there. I definitely didn't invite you here but I guess your visitor badge doesn't expire. I'm just messing with you though, Ted, because you know what? I guess I've got you to thank for all of this." he extends his arm to draw attention to the lavishly dressed set. "Without The Million Dollar Man, there would be no - well, I guess, New Million Dollar Man - but let me tell you something. I'm all about carrying the torch and representing history but I'm going to make history and do something that you - or your son for that matter- could ever do and that's making this title mean something."

The expression sours on the Hall of Famers' face as Knight goes in.

LA KNIGHT

"You heard me. You've made a career being a fraud in this industry, you think you can turn up here every couple of years with this belt whenever the family trust fund runs low? Not on my watch and you're most definitely not going to leach off of my success. So thanks for the gold, but this is your cue to leave."

Ted tries to remind the champion that he commissioned the belt and that technically it's his property.

LA KNIGHT
"Now I know the law isn't your family's specialist subject but you signed a contract and agreed to put this championship on the line. You can't snatch it away now that you've been outsmarted by a real champion. So, I'll say it again, Ted. GET. OUT. OF. MY. RING."

LA patronizes Ted with a slow wave. Dejected, The Million Dollar Man slowly turns to head out of the ring.

LA KNIGHT

"Wait, Ted...."

He turns, is there hope yet?

LA KNIGHT
"Do you want to strap it around my waist before you leave?"

DiBiase looks livid, but this isn't the Attitude Era, so instead, he yells that Knight will be hearing from his lawyer and marches off. LA takes the Million Dollar Championship and straps it around his waist, he then pops the champagne and holds the bottle up.

LA KNIGHT
"Ladies and Gentlemen. To me...."

He takes a swig from the bottle and gasps.

LA KNIGHT
"A REAL CHAMPION."

"The New Million Dollar Man" smiles again before pouring himself a glass and taking it out with him, toasting the booing crowd while "Rollin' Deep" plays the segment out. LA Knight has talked a big game here tonight, but is he writing cheques with his mouth that a Million Dollar Champion can't afford to cash?

Commentary announces that Bobby Fish versus Timothy Thatcher is up next as we see a split-screen of the two men warming up. All that and more after this commercial break.

ALICIA TAYLOR

"The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is your MAIN EVENT of the evening. Introducing to the ring first, from Sacramento, California - weighing in at 225 pounds...TIMOTHY THATCHER!"

The Fight Pit aficionado enters to a good reaction from the fans.
Vic Joseph reminds us that Thatcher, who was once aligned with Tommaso Ciampa, has opted to return to singles action and prove himself as a viable contender for NXT gold. There are no thrills or flashy poses, instead, Thatcher marches down to the ring, throwing his jacket off and pacing the ring, intensely waiting on his opponent.

"Dance Away" plays out to signify the arrival of Bobby Fish, who also finds himself with something to prove in singles action. The crowd also seem to respond well to Fish, who warms up, showing off some of his MMA skills at the top of the entrance ramp and preening his signature moustache. Beth comments on the video packages from both of these men earlier tonight, stating that they're both jockeying for position in the singles division. Timothy Thatcher, trying to break free of the tag team division while Fish appears to be trying to reinvent himself and create some distance from his former allies of the Undisputed Era.

ALICIA TAYLOR

"...
And his opponent, from Saratoga Springs, New York. Weight in at 197 pounds... BOBBY...FISH!"

Fish steps into the ring and heads straight to the top rope as he stands to look out at the crowd, barely even acknowledging his opponent as the crowd begins to chant "BOBBY!" repeatedly. The bell rings as Thatcher and Fish square up, the former offering his hand and Fish accepting without hesitation. It appears we may be on for a good clean fight.

Timothy-Thatcher-vs-Bobby-Fish.png

TIMOTHY THATCHER vs. BOBBY FISH

The two men begin by circling each other in the middle of the ring, both trying to anticipate the other's movement. Thatcher immediately goes after the legs of Fish, trying to ground him but Fish manages to step over him. Bobby Fish catches Thatcher's leg but Thatcher hastily gets out of his opponent's grasp, while the fans show their support, trying to build some momentum. The two men back away from each other, before resorting back to circling one another, trying to work one another out. This time the men lock up, Fish stepping behind and locking in a brief waist lock before Thatcher powers out and locks in one of his own. Fish drops to the mat, pulling Thatcher down with him and locking him in a leg bar but Thatcher easily manages to get to the ropes. The referee calls for a rope break as it looks for a moment that Fish was debating about keeping the hold and making use of the five-count. Instead, he allows Thatcher out of the hold and back to his feet.

The two men lock up in a test of strength, Fish striking with a kick to the back of Thatcher's right leg, but he doesn't manage to topple his opponent. Side headlock applied, Thatcher, manages to get Fish into the ropes and whip him, tripping his legs and rolling Bobby up for the first pin attempt of the match. Shoulders down...

1....

...2...

NO!

Both men are back on their feet, Thatcher goes to apply another waist lock but Fish this time reverses it into his own. Thatcher leans forward and pulls Fish out by the legs, causing him to fall back on his head, he grabs Bobby's legs, but Fish can use his legs to push Thatcher back into the ropes. Thatcher manages to dodge Bobby, who gets back to his feet, and Irish whips him into the ropes instead...LOU THESZ PRESS! 1...2....SHOULDER UP BY BOBBY FISH! Thatcher hasn't released his grasp on Fish and pulls him back up - Irish whip into the corner....but it's reversed by Bobby! Fish now charges but Thatcher uses his weight advantage to power "The Infamous" Bobby Fish over and onto the apron. Thatcher takes a big run-up with a dropkick, sending Bobby out to the floor. Thatcher goes to the apron where Bobby attempts a kick, to take him out by the feet but he misses after Thatcher hops over and instead dives with a clothesline.

The crowd gives a cheer to Thatcher, who is firmly in control of the match as he throws Fish back into the ring and attempts another clothesline but Fish catches him with a kick to the gut, following up with another to sweep the legs and send Thatcher off his feet. Fish hyperextends Thatcher's leg and begins to stomp on the hamstring, looking to cause some damage. Thatcher manages to roll free and gets back to his feet to meet Fish with a forearm, with the two now exchanging blows. Snapmare is executed by Fish, who delivers a
STIFF KICK to the back of his opponent. Fish steps to the apron and slingshots himself over onto Thatcher with the Hilo. COVER!

ONE...

TWO...

A generous two count but Thatcher manages to stay alive. The two men begin to exchange forearms again, with the crowd divided between who to support. Fish sneaks in another kick to the hamstring, to take Thatcher off of his guard but Thatcher responds with a chop across his opponent's chest.
FISH WITH THE FOREARM AGAIN. THATCHER RESPONDS WITH A EUROPEAN UPPERCUT. This one is breaking down between two world-class veterans.

Thatcher catches Fish's leg and connects with a knee to the jaw, knocking Fish for six, back into the corner. Thatcher runs up with another chop before delivering another and another. The crowd is rife with Ric Flair references, but Fish manages to push him away to create some distance. The two meet once more, this time Thatcher goes for a suplex attempt but leaves himself open to another kick to the hamstring and a big one that sends Thatcher rebounding back and hitting his head on the second turnbuckle. The referee backs Fish away, checking that this match can continue but Thatcher assures the official that he's fine. Meanwhile, Bobby is fired up and gestures to the mixed crowd...
ROUNDHOUSE KICK! BUT THATCHER DODGES IT...LOW CLOTHESLINE FROM FISH WHO FLIPS THATCHER OVER AND LOCKS IN A LEGBAR! All the leg attacks and the targeted kicks have led to this as Thatcher screams out in pain.

The crowd cheer Timothy Thatcher on as he manages to stand! Fish is relentless with the hold but Thatcher arches back into a pin!

ONE...

TWO...

HAS HE DONE IT!?

NOT THIS TIME!

Timothy Thatcher is not giving up as he charges toward Bobby, who explodes with a suplex into the turnbuckle. Bobby drags Thatcher into the pin in the middle of the ring.

ONE...

TWO...

KICKOUT!

Commentary can't determine who will win this one, with neither man backing down. Both vying to climb the ranks of the single division. Fish gestures that this one is over as he lifts Thatcher into a suplex but Thatcher manages to drop down and turn Fish towards him to deliver an almighty slap before transitioning into a big-time belly-to-belly suplex. Thatcher now delivers some brutal-looking knees to the mid-section of Bobby Fish, who is trying desperately to get back to his feet. Thatcher hobbles over Fish and locks in a
GUILLOTINE CHOKE! FISH HAS NOWHERE TO GO!

The question is: will he tap?

....

...

BOBBY FISH TAPS OUT! The Thatcher fans breathe a sigh of relief as he limps back to his feet and has his arm raised by Tom Castor.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"Your winner, by submission...TIMOTHY THATCHER!"

There's a cheer from the crowd as Thatcher looks round at Fish who is catching his breath. Once again, he extends the hand, but this time Fish looks a little more dubious about shaking it. After a brief pause, Bobby Fish shakes Thatcher's hand, which helps bring him back to his feet. "Gritter" plays out as Thatcher leaves the ring, with Bobby Fish trying to get himself together.

VIC JOSEPH
"Wait, what is this!?"

BETH PHOENIX
"Turn around!"

Unbeknown to Bobby Fish, Adam Cole has slid into the ring behind...LOW BLOW! Fish immediately goes weak at the knees and turns into a SUPERKICK from the Panama City Playboy! The heat is just pouring in for the former leader of The Undisputed Era. Cole barely has a moment to take it all in as Kyle O'Reilly spills out to the ring, with the fans going wild to see these two come head-to-head once more. The two men begin to brawl as officials pour into the ring and try to keep things under control. Suddenly we see William Regal lead security down the entrance ramp as they too enter the ring and try to drag the former stablemates away from each other. At one point, Cole breaks free and charges at O'Reilly but is immediately intercepted by a member of security. Regal yells "Enough!" and orders that the two men be removed from the arena.

We head to our final commercial break, but when we return - WILLIAM REGAL SPEAKS!

Back from commercial, we are moments away from hearing what NXT General Manager, William Regal, has to say. First, we get a pre-recorded rundown of Friday Night's 205 Live - Kushida opens the doors to all comers in his first-ever open challenge for the Cruiserweight Championship. Oney Lorcan will feature to 'prove himself' to Pete Dunne. Legado del Fantasma will take on Ikemen Jiro & August Grey in tag team action and Santos Escobar himself will compete against "The Sauce" Ari Sterling. Meanwhile, next week on NXT: two matches have been announced so far, Kyle O'Reilly will return to the ring "The Patron Saint of Wrestling" Asher Hale and in a bid to catch the attention of Toni Storm, "The Warrior of the Sun" Sarray will square off against Jessi Kamea of The Robert Stone Brand.

Live at ringside, commentary shows us that during the break, Bobby Fish had to be assisted to the back to be medically checked as a concerned friend, Kyle O'Reilly, follows suit. Regal is already standing in the ring, looking despondent, although he is relaxed by the crowd and their cheers. He holds his hand up to try and calm down the crowd so that he can make his big announcement.

William-Regal-segment.png

WILLIAM REGAL
"Well you're awfully kind." he pauses. "I don't know what I've done to deserve all of this." he smiles and looks around the Capitol Wrestling Centre. "So I said I'd come out here to say a few words, so I suppose I better get on with, but just bear with me because there are some things that I need to get through. I took over the role of General Manager from the late, great Dusty Rhodes around SEVEN years ago. Now I'm no stranger to looking after a show like this, but believe me, those were some big shoes to fill but I made it work. Dusty was liked and well respected, he had some great ideas, and you could say he had an 'eye for things'. When I was told that I would be stepping up, I remember worrying how I'd be able to replicate that Dusty magic, I spent so long worrying I nearly didn't do it. I had a good position, I've made an honest living, I could ride that out until I retire and collect my pension, but then I thought to myself - why not create my own vision? Why not make a wrestling show that I want to see? So with a team of great people, who I haven't the time to give full credit to, I turned the black and gold brand into what it is today." the crowd applauds in agreement. "I've signed some of the hottest free agents, the most unexpected names have walked through those doors because of the brand that we've created - and I say 'we' because you have been there with me every step of the way. I took the baton from Dusty, but it's you, the fans, who have helped me carry it forward."

Regal looks emotional as an "NXT" chant breaks out.

WILLIAM REGAL
"But as the old saying goes, you LIVE by the sword...you DIE by the sword. I've invited this young and hungry talent from all over the world into this house and now, I'm afraid I can no longer control it. Now, I know that I'm not running a ballet school and I may have been known to have broken a few rules during my career." referencing his "Born Naughty" days. "But the sheer disrespect, the anarchy, and brutality that I've seen in recent months, even just moments ago before we went to commercial. I can no longer confidently say that I'm the man for the job." the crowd sense where this is going. "Therefore, I have tethered my resignation as General Manager of NXT with effect from the 6th July...."

Despite the rumors, even despite the tone of Regal's words, this was the scenario that many had dreaded hearing. Regal allows the crowd a moment to soak it all in before continuing.

WILLIAM REGAL
"I know may be hard for some of you to grasp and I am so grateful to all of you, but it's time a new pair of eyes came in and took this brand to heights, further beyond anyone could imagine. This isn't the end of NXT, this is simply the end of the line for me." the crowd initially doesn't know how to react, even despite the speculation. "I imagine you're all probably speculating who my successor will be and for the moment, I respect their wishes to remain unnamed but let me tell you - they love a spectacle and as one of my final acts, we've agreed that on this special episode - NXT: End of the Line - I will reveal the person taking over the helm of this great brand and pass over the proverbial baton. But it doesn't end there..."

Regal might have intended it to end there, but the familiar tune of "Dead Silent" falls upon the Capitol Wrestling Centre. The smartly-dressed NXT Champion, Karrion Kross, stands at the top of the aisle with Scarlett in tow. "FALL & PRAY" repeat while Scarlett hands the undefeated "Herald of Doomsday" a microphone.

KARRION KROSS

"If you had something to say, Mr. Regal. You should just come out and say it...." Kross hands the title to Scarlett, who displays it proudly as the two make their way down to the ring. "You say you didn't want chaos, you say you didn't want brutality, well as your champion, I can't help but take that personally but we both know that everything you've said tonight is coated in deceit and propaganda. You don't think you've created this mess, even when I told you that you had lost control of this brand, I could see the denial in your eyes. Your reality is that we're the problem and maybe, just maybe you might have missed it when you willing turned your head. You snivel and cry about the glory days, so people don't remember that you're the worst one here Mr. Regal and when I exposed you, you thought you could silence me by putting me in that Fatal Five Way Match. You didn't believe I could beat your golden boys - the 'best of the best - but I did. So now you have no option other than to run away like a coward with your tail between your legs. Oh but of course, you simply couldn't write Mr. McMahon a letter and walk out like anyone else in the back, you had to stroke your ego, like a true narcissist, and take away time from the people, whose backs you step on to earn a living."

Kross walks slowly towards the ring to Regal.

KARRION KROSS

"And I know that I will never receive my apology, even as I stand here as your champion. So with that, I wanted to extend my good wishes to you and your future endeavors. The countdown is on. TICK. TOCK. TICK. TOCK. I guess the only question that remains is what condition you'll be in when your time runs out."

The intensity on Kross' face is evident as his speech comes to a close. He stops, allowing Regal to respond, but not before taking a step back.

WILLIAM REGAL

"You know it really is bloody disappointing when a man like you, with the look, with the championship, begins to take himself too seriously. You think that I'm the worst and maybe I am but every action I've taken is for the entertainment of the fans and the betterment of this company. I figured as champion as the main attraction, you would be prepared to put in the lion's share of the work but clearly, I was wrong. Maybe you're too worried about your maintaining your match record or sounding clever, but what you thought was punishment, I thought was an endorsement. Have I agreed with every word that comes out of your mouth? No, I think a lot of it is a lot of old tripe if I'm perfectly honest but as you said, you're my champion and therefore I make exceptions. The silver lining in all of this though, as I'm sure you can agree, is that I won't be here to listen to you for much longer." Regal stares into Kross' eyes. "You may want to brace yourself, Kross, because you interrupted my other big announcement. At NXT: End of the Line, I will no longer be your boss, but you may no longer be the NXT Champion. I've been totting up my sums and - my successor is apparently a stickler for numbers - and this fellow's record isn't too shoddy either. Therefore, I've determined the perfect opponent for you to defend your championship against."

Kross smiles, having sensed that this could happen. Possibly from Scarlett's cards or the fact that this is a wrestling show.

KARRION KROSS
"I suppose you think this is your last act of revenge. The final knife to my back but if your replacement is so good with numbers, I'm pretty sure they'll know that I'm undefeated. So go ahead, Mr. Regal. Enlighten me."

WILLIAM REGAL
"Well actually this will come as a shock to him also, as I hadn't had the chance to tell him but Tuesday 6th July at NXT: End of Line, the marquee event - Karrion Kross defends" he points to Scarlett carrying the championship belt "the NXT Championship AGAINST...."

"BRONSON REED!"

The fans pop, Kross doesn't look horrified but he doesn't look too pleased either. Scarlett looks to "The Monterrey Devil" for a reaction as suddenly "War Ready" by Def Rebel blares out across the CWC. Kross looks through Regal, who acknowledges the North American Champion, Bronson Reed, who stood at the top of the aisle looking down. The fans are going through a mixture of emotions following the bombshells stemming from this segment. Kross walks past William Regal, delivering a cold stare, Scarlett also directing one at the exiting GM as she saunters in pursuit of the NXT Champion. Unafraid, the undefeated Karrion Kross takes the title from Scarlett and walks up to Bronson Reed for a good old-fashioned STARE DOWN. Reed smiles confidently while Kross looks stern and unphased. Slowly, Kross walks away to the back with Scarlett lingering, looking to intimidate 'The Colossal' champion but Reed simply turns away and lifts his belt to pose before the fans (with William Regal applauding as he makes his exit from the ring.

Vic Joseph takes the time to thank us for watching and bids up goodnight. The final images are of Mr. Regal approaching Reed and shaking his hand as the latter thanks him for the opportunity.

205 LIVE [EPISODE #236] "WHAT'S NeXT" PREVIEW
"We are barely halfway through the week, and we've already seen a resignation, a Million Dollar celebration and a new number one contender arise on NXT and the action won't stop as we head into this week's 205 Live. Hi, I'm McKenzie Mitchell and it's time to find out 'What's NeXT in the land of the Cruiserweights..."
Oney-Lorcan-vs-Leon-Ruff.png
ONEY LORCAN [w/ PETE DUNNE] vs. LEON RUFF
"This past week on the black and gold brand, Pete Dunne seemed particular disgruntled by the lack of loyalty shown by Oney Lorcan. While the Kings of NXT have been on somewhat of a hiatus since the injuries of both Ridge Holland and Danny Burch, "The Bruiserweight" has made it clear that Lorcan needs to prove himself to remain at his side. This Friday, Lorcan will take on former NXT North American Champion, Leon Ruff - will he soar with the eagles or will "The King of the Upset" stop Lorcan in his tracks?"

Santos-Escobar-vs-Ari-Sterling.png
SANTOS ESCOBAR vs. ARI STERLING
"It would be fair to say that Santos Escobar hasn't had the best stroke of luck as of late. While the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion came up short in the Winners Take All match at NXT Takeover: In Your House, Escobar hopes to redeem himself and turn his fortunes when he takes on the up-and-comer, Ari Sterling. Sterling has taken the cruiserweight division by storm with his combination of high-flying skills and innovation. Could this be Sterling's moment to shine, or will Escobar succeed in his mission for redemption? Tune in this Friday to find out."

Legado-Del-Fantasma-vs-Jiro-Grey.png
LEGADO DEL FANTASMA [JOAQUIN WILDE & RAUL MENDOZA] vs. AUGUST GREY & IKEMEN JIRO
"Speaking of Legado del Fantasma, Santos Escobar isn't the only member wanting to change his fortune. The team of Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza are looking to stand out at a time where every tag team wants a turn in the spotlight. This week, they'll square off against the fresh pairing of August Grey and "Japan's Most Handsome" Ikemen Jiro, who have been elevating themselves in both tag and singles action. Will the legacy of Legado del Fantasma take another fall or will Jiro and Grey make the impact they're looking for?"

KUSHIDA IN ACTION| CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OPEN CHALLENGE

"As we found out this past Tuesday, Kushida issued an Open Challenge with the NXT Cruiserweight Championship on the line. The Open Challenge format lends itself to the element of surprise and with a plethora of talent backstage and around the world - quite literally anyone could step through the doors and step up for the gold. Join us this week to find out who will be first in line to challenge "The Time Splitter".
William-Regal-Speaks.png
WILLIAM REGAL TO OPEN THE SHOW

"And finally, I've just received confirmation that William Regal has requested a few moments to address the WWE Universe once again, this time at the start of the show. Following the closing moments of this week's NXT, in which Mr Regal confirmed that it was the end of line for his seven-year run as General Manager - what more could he possibly have to say?"

205 LIVE [EPISODE #236] FRIDAY 18 JUNE, 2021
CAPITOL PERFORMANCE CENTER ‣ ORLANDO, FLORIDA

With barely any time to breathe, following not just the events of Takeover, but this past week's NXT, it was already Friday and time to head to the land of the cruiserweights. However, rather than the usual opening video, we were instead greeted by a cold open. Backstage, in his office, the cameras pan across to the very man in the middle of all the drama that had taken place, William Regal. It had previously been announced that Mr. Regal had an additional announcement to make, but what more could be said with the General Manager now somewhat of a 'lame duck'?

WILLIAM REGAL
"Good evening..."

Regal appears to be in a solemn mood, his hands held behind his back as he addresses the WWE Universe.

WILLIAM REGAL
"I think we can all agree I've done enough talking this week, so I will try my utmost to keep this brief and allow you to enjoy this evening's entertainment. Earlier this week I announced that my time as General Manager of the NXT brand would conclude on the 6th of July as a very special event - NXT: End of the Line." he pauses. "As some of you may recall, the 205 Live brand became part of the NXT family nearly 2 years ago and my departure has prompted some discussions with my successor, who for now shall remain unnamed."

Mr Regal clears his throat and takes a brief look at the floor before re-focusing his attention on the camera.

WILLIAM REGAL
"In the past two years, 205 Live has brought us innovative offence, high-flying action, and offered a spotlight to the Superstars of the division. While my departure will not affect the cruiserweight division or the focus of the talented athletes that make up the purple brand, it is with regret that I have to inform you that 205 Live will also reach the end of the line on Friday 2nd July. We live in a time of change, so while we must bid farewell to 205 Live, we will beckon in a new era that focuses on the very best up-and-coming talent in NXT - NXT Evolve. From the 9th of July, Evolve will be the launch pad for the stars of tomorrow, while also allowing some familiar faces to further showcase their talents."
Regal nods reassuringly. "So let us enjoy the time we have left. You're watching 205 Live."

And with that, the screen fades to black.

We head to ringside where Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness react to the news that 205 Live will come to an end in just two weeks. McGuinness says that while it is sad news, every ending will pave way for a new beginning with the announcement of NXT Evolve. Joseph thanks the fans for tuning in and promises the fans that they cannot afford to miss the next couple of weeks of programming - starting tonight as he runs down the card - including the first open challenge by our Cruiserweight Champion, Kushida and the title is on the line! (Peacock being a little more generous with the show length since the move)

McGuinness says that NXT is in a state of change, which will provide new opportunities and while 205 Live may be coming to a close, the talent will all be looking to steal the spotlight.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The opening tag team match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, at a combined weight of 367 pounds, the team of August Grey and Ikeman Jiro!"

Grey and Jiro enter to a mild reaction, the relative newcomers still looking to raise their profile in NXT. Although Vic Joseph does point out that these two are not to be underestimated, having won two of their last three tag team matches together - only losing to the Grizzled Young Veterans, who were positioning themselves as the number one contenders to the NXT Tag Team Championships (as seen this past week).

The former Anthony Greene is decked out with a suitably retro-inspired attire - complete with headband and 'Retro AG' sunglasses. It seems that "Japan's Most Handsome" Ikemen Jiro has decided to match his jacket to his tag team partner tonight, they glance at each other before charging down to the ring and working the crowd. The mood soon changes when "Soul March" begins to play, prompting both men to look up to the main stage.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"And their opponents, at a combined weight of 370 pounds, Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza - LEGADO DEL FANTASMMMMMMA!"

Wilde and Mendoza aren't so full of smiles and energy, with McGuinness pointing out that they have a chip on their shoulder after this past Sunday, which saw them lose an opportunity to capture the NXT Tag Team Championships from MSK. Joseph noted that Legado Del Fantasma was spotted backstage, where some tension arose between them and Hit Row, who later went on to have a successful trios debut. One has to think the pressure will be on Mendoza and Wilde to help carry LDF back onto victory road.

Legado-Del-Fantasma-vs-Jiro-Grey.png

LEGADO DEL FANTASMA [JOAQUIN WILDE & RAUL MENDOZA] vs. AUGUST GREY & IKEMEN JIRO

Referee Jessika Carr calls for the bell with August Grey and Joaquin Wilde starting things out for their team, commenting that this is the first time these four men have met in the squared circle. Wilde and Grey seem to be having a verbal exchange in the centre of the ring, ending in Wilde attempting a cheap shot only for Grey to capture the arm and execute a crisp sling blade. "Retro AG" brings Wilde up to his feet, Wilde still trying to overpower his opponent, trying to steer direction to his corner. Mendoza attempts to grab Grey's hair, providing the distraction for Wilde to tackle his opponent into the corner and follow up with a big clothesline. Legado Del Fantasma takes the early lead as Wilde tags in Mendoza, who hits his own clothesline to the cornered August Grey, Wilde then tags in and rolls forward, creating enough distance to hit ANOTHER clothesline. McGuinness comments that the experience of Wilde and Mendoza gives them the edge in this match. Grey is fallen, still in the corner on the wrong side of the wring, Mendoza tags back in and brings him to his feet as he executes a kick to the chest that seems to echo throughout the Capitol Wrestling Center. Offering his hand again, Wilde tags in, and together, the pair hit a double suplex.

Joseph observes that Wilde and Mendoza seem to be hyper-focused in this match, barely allowing Grey time to breathe as Wilde makes the cover:

1....

2....

....NO!

Grey gets the shoulder up to stay alive in this match. On the other side of the ring, Jiro tries to gain some support from the crowd, hoping to provide the much-needed momentum for his team. Wilde lifts Grey back to his feet, though it seems August is trying to regain some energy to swing the pendulum back in his favour. Wilde hits a forearm but Grey comes straight back to him, much to the crowd's surprise. Wilde whips Grey into the ropes.... pops him up....
but Grey hits a step-up hurricarana instead! A desperation move if ever there was one. Joseph advises that Grey gets the tag, but instead, Grey throws Wilde into the turnbuckle and hits a knife-edge chop, followed by a second and a third as he plans his next move. Taking too long, Wilde is able to push Grey off to create enough distance to hit a running clothesline but Grey ducks it and hits a jawbreaker instead - the crowd now are starting to get behind "Retro AG" as he follows up with a neck breaker to change the tide.

Grey kips up to the applause of the crowd (and Jiro) and runs the ropes. Unfortunately, the 'experience' factor plays a hand again, with Mendoza delivering a stiff knee to the back to try and put the Latino Legion back in control. Both men try and make it to their corner now, Wilde gets to his feet first, followed by Grey as both Jiro and Mendoza make the tag to enter the match. Both men collide with a dropkick each, neither man feeling the full effect as it seems the teams are back on neutral ground. Realizing this, Jiro and Mendoza both slowly get back to their feet and stare each other down. Mendoza breaks the tension with a kick to the midsection, followed by a spinning brainbuster! Rather than going for the pin, Mendoza opts to do some more damage, running the ropes to hit a low dropkick to the jaw of "
Japan's Most Handsome". This time, Mendoza goes for the cover...

1....

2....

JIRO MANAGES TO KICK OUT!

Mendoza seems frustrated, he springboards for a moonsault but Jiro raises the knee to create a hard landing for the LDF brethren. Jiro struggles back to his feet but manages to turn the tides of the match. Grabbing his jacket, he lands not one...not two...but
THREE strikes to Mendoza, rousing the attention of Wilde on the outside, who then receives a rolling forearm to the jaw of his own. Turning his attention back to Mendoza, Ikemen Jiro goes old-school with a running bulldog for a two count. Grey meanwhile takes the opportunity to size up Wilde on the outside with a springboard crossbody as both bodies fall to the floor in front of an excitable crowd. Jiro begins to show his jacket off to the crowd, not noticing Mendoza is back on his feet....he takes a run-up, but Jiro drops down to hold open the second rope, sending Mendoza spilling out to the floor alongside Grey and Wilde.

The crowd is red hot as Jiro hits an
ASAI MOONSAULT! Narrowly avoiding his tag team partner. Somehow, Jiro manages to land on his feet, hands in his jacket pockets, but with no time to spare he and Grey roll Mendoza back into the ring. SLINGSHOT MOONSAULT! COVER...

WILDE MANAGES TO DRAG JIRO OUT OF THE RING!

Where was August Grey!? Wilde yells at Jiro, who manages to duck out of Grey, who makes himself known with a dive through the ropes. Jiro climbs back into the ring to meet Mendoza, who makes use of the chaos to rake the eyes of Jiro. Lifting his opponent onto his shoulders, Mendoza looks for the Death Valley Driver but Jiro struggles out.....ENZUIGIRI!

3....

The crowd is as shocked as Jiro is as he gets back to his feet, having knocked off one of the top teams in NXT.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"Your winners via pinfall, August Grey & Ikemen Jiro!"

August Grey rushes into the ring and celebrates with his partner as Nigel McGuiness says that "El Jefe" will not be impressed. Coincidentally, we're able to get a live reaction of a furious Santos Escobar who yells in Spanish before noticing the cameras and swatting them away, making a hasty exit as he prepares for his match later this evening.

Commentary throws us backstage to McKenzie Mitchell, who is standing alongside two men who competed in the Cruiserweight Classic, "The Persian Lion" Ariya Daivari and "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese. While neither man looked saddened by the news of 205 Live's axing, nor do they look best pleased to be in the interview pit.

MCKENZIE MITCHELL
"Fresh off the news that 205 Live will come to an end in two weeks, I'm standing here now with two of the most tenured Superstars on the 205 Live roster, Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese. Gentlemen, I'd like to get your thoughts on the news...."

Both Nese and Daivari turn to each other, looking equally unimpressed before turning back. Daivari leans over the microphone to make his point.

ARIYA DAIVARI
"Well, I want to start first by saying 'thank you to Mr Regal for the heads up. I guess an e-mail would've taken too long." he scoffs. "This is classic, we're brought here with the promise that this company would provide a platform for us. We work our asses off while 'legends' take days off and then just like that, the carpet is pulled from underneath our feet."

Nese steps in, he speaks hurriedly, growing increasingly frustrated after listening to Daivari's description of how they've been treated on the show.

TONY NESE
"I am a former Cruiserweight Champion! You said it yourself, we're two of the longest-tenured talents on this show - we're pretty much the last men standing at this point. We built this brand and the powers that be want to take it away, erase everything we've done so they can throw some rookies in, who couldn't even tie our boots."

Following that tirade, McKenzie winces slightly as there's an awkward silence. Even the intrepid interviewer can't find the words to console the pair.

MCKENZIE MITCHELL
"So I take it the two of you are taking the news pretty hard then, huh?"

Daivari and Nese look at each other again. This time, "The Persian Lion" lets out a jolt of laughter.

ARIYA DAIVARI
"We could sit here and complain, McKenzie. However, Tony and I are opportunists. I think everyone knows that we have long outgrown this show and the only reason we've been kept here as long as we have is that they needed someone to drive the ratings."

Nese interjects...

TONY NESE
"I'll say it again - I'm a FORMER CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION!"

Daivari places his hand on the shoulder of his friend, attempting to calm him down. He then looks back to McKenzie.

ARIYA DAIVARI
"The suits can call this show whatever they want, whatever show we're on will always be our show. The fact of the matter is, the cream always rises to the top and whatever doesn't kill us, will only make us stronger." Daivari turns his head to see Nese flex his impressive biceps. "So keep your pity, McKenzie. We don't need it."

The duo storms off, leaving McKenzie alone as she looks off-camera, wondering whether the two can really live up to their own hype.

Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness welcome us back to 205 Live as we get a look back at this past week's NXT, where "The Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne manages to topple his taller opponent before attempting to break his fingers after the match. The former United Kingdom Champion's efforts were thwarted when The Way made the run-in for the save, only for Dunne to scald Oney Lorcan backstage for not having his back.

Dunne holds up his hands, cutting Lorcan off.

PETE DUNNE
"I'll accept your apology, but to be quite frank, I'm sure if you really have what it takes either.

A rare smile spreads across the face of The Bruiserweight, his demeanor, more relaxed, but still with an edge of self-assurance.

PETE DUNNE
"That's the spirit! Leave it with me, I'll speak to Regal and get you a match. We'll see if you still have what it takes."

We then cut to Dunne giving Lorcan what seems to be a pep talk backstage, before heading back to the ring where Alicia Taylor is ready to introduce the next match.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing to the ring first, weighing in at 157 pounds, from Detroit, Michigan...LEON RUFF!"

There's a pop for the former North American Champion as he nods reassuringly to himself, making his way down to the ring. McGuinness hails him as "The King of the Upset" but Joseph says that you'd be a fool to underestimate Leon Ruff. Ruff cleans his feet on the apron (a potential tribute to Mr. Regal) before shaking the ropes and rallying the crowd. The audience is then treated to a picture-in-picture promo from Ruff.

LEON RUFF
"They want to call me the underdog, but the truth is in my four-year career, I've stepped in the ring with some of the best and I'm going to continue to do so until I am one of the best. Oney Lorcan wants to prove himself to Pete Dunne, well go ahead Oney but it seems I've got to keep proving myself to everybody and I'm not going to stop. I had to work my way up to battle for the North American Championship. Now, I've got my sights on the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. So Oney, you can puff your chest for Pete Dunne, but tonight, I'll be pinning your shoulders for the three - and you can count on that."

We focus again on Leon Ruff, McGuinness points out that much like his opponent, he actually had his own issues with Johnny Gargano, but Vic Joseph quickly points out that Dunne is the one with the issue. Alicia Taylor introduces his opponent. The catchy theme of "Combative" as Pete Dunne tails Lorcan in his tracks.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"...And his opponent, accompanied to the ring by Pete Dunne - from Boston, Massachusetts. Weighing 200 pounds.....ONEY LORCAN!"

Commentary put over the pressure on this man tonight. Joseph accuses "The Bruiserweight" of picking up Lorcan to help him even the odds against Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory but McGuinness says that Lorcan has his own free will and maybe he's just realizing that without Danny Burch, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. Joseph also comments on Dunne's aggression since losing out on a chance to capture the NXT Championship at Takeover: In Your House.

ONEY LORCAN [w/ PETE DUNNE] vs. LEON RUFF

The bell rings as Lorcan and Ruff step up to each other. Lorcan looks out the ring, where it seems Dunne will analyze his every move to see if he is 'fit for purpose. Leon Ruff extends his hand, prompting Lorcan to look for guidance - or perhaps even permission from "The Bruiserweight" but Dunne gives nothing away. Lorcan goes to accept the gesture but quickly goes in for a cheap shot. However, Ruff is quick to react, telegraphing this and rolling out to safety, much to the chagrin of Dunne on the outside.

The two men begin to circle each as Dunne is warned by the referee to take a step back so he can't physically get involved. The two men lock up, Ruff quickly executing an arm drag on "The Street Tough Bostonian", who can't quite believe it as he wipes his face. Lorcan turns around and is met with a lariat as the crowd cheers him on.

Building momentum, Ruff looks to run the ropes but Lorcan rushes over to him, catching him with a dropkick. "The Bostonian Brawler" begins to hulk up as he grabs Ruff by the jaw and drags him to his feet. Holding the former NA Champion in place, he strikes with a vicious slap, followed by a second and a third - the HD cameras can literally pick up the spit being slapped out of Ruff's mouth as he falls to his feet. Lorcan backs off, before taking a run-up looking for the BLOCKBUSTER!....

Ruff dodges it, getting behind Lorcan and rolling him up.....shoulders are down!

2...

3...

NO!

A very close call, with Lorcan taken completely off guard. Pete Dunne can only watch through his fingers as the match continues. Ruff seizes the opportunity as he springboards for a Diving Cutter...but Lorcan moves out of the way! Lorcan backs up as he waits for Ruff to get back to his feet.....RUNNING UPPERCUT! RUFF MAY BE KNOCKED OUT COLD! Dunne remains silent and motionless at ringside while Lorcan makes the cover.

Referee, Jason Ayres, signals for the end of the match. Lorcan stands back and looks at his fallen opponent, appearing to come back down to Earth and seeing the damage he's done.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"Your winner, via pinfall...ONEY LORCAN!"

We are reminded of the vicious assault of Bobby Fish at the hands of his former Undisputed ERA stablemate, Adam Cole, following his match with Timothy Thatcher. Despite being 'Team Bobby', it appears that Fish still found a way to get caught in the crossfire between Adam Cole (BAY-BAY) and long-time friend, Kyle O'Reilly.

Vic Joseph introduces an exclusive clip of what took place Wednesday at the Performance Center. The NXT camera crew is speaking with O'Reilly when he turns and sees Fish walking in the background.

KYLE O'REILLY
"Excuse me for a minute..."

Did you really think the camera crew was going to go anywhere? They follow O'Reilly, who quickly shoots them an unimpressed look as Fish catches "NXT's Best Kept Secret" approaching him and attempts to make a hasty exit.

KYLE O'REILLY
"Hey, Bobby! Don't be like that"

Fish stops in his steps and looks up to the ceiling and sighs heavily. He turns to his former reDRagon partner and listens to what he has to say.

KYLE O'REILLY
"Listen, I know you wanted your moment on Tuesday. I kept my promise, I let it be about you but I had no idea that Adam would do that to you, man. I couldn't leave you hung out to dry out there. After that, I just saw red and I know you're [CENSORED] but I wasn't going to sit in catering and let him beat you down."

"The Infamous" Bobby Fish wipes his face, contemplating what to do as he bites his tongue for a moment.

KYLE O'REILLY
"Can you at least let me know how you're doing? I mean, I know you want your space but at least tell me how you're doing."

Fish arches his eyebrow in disbelief. Once again, he doesn't rush to respond to O'Reilly. Instead taking the time to make him sweat.

BOBBY FISH
"How I'm doing? You don't care how I'm doing, Kyle. You just want to shun any accountability you had in taking my moment away from me. I made it perfectly clear that I wanted nothing to do with whatever's going on between you and Adam. I told the world I was 'Team Bobby' and then just like that" he snaps his fingers. "I'm dragged in the middle of a situation that I don't want to be part of."

Sensing a tone, O'Reilly tries to reason with Fish, desperately trying to make him understand that he didn't want to infringe on his (Fish's) moment.

KYLE O'REILLY
"You know what Adam is like, it's all mind games with him. He's always had to overcompensate for the fact that he couldn't hold a torch to us. He knows we go back, he was just wanting to try and get a reaction from me and you know what? I fell straight into his trap."

It seems that whatever Kyle is selling, Bobby isn't buying. At all.

BOBBY FISH
"I see, so I'm just a pawn in your game of chess. Well, Kyle, you're right we do go back, longer than I care to remember but next time you want to make someone your middleman, go and see what Roddy Strong is up to. I'm not here to fight your battles and I'm not here to fight Adam's either." Fish's tone turns more sarcastic." Here's a thought, maybe the two of you should, I don't know, fight each other instead of playing games and trying to overshadow me. Again."

Kyle-O-Reilly-Segment.png

Fish patronizingly pats O'Reilly on the shoulder. "The Violent Artist" initially goes to call out after Bobby, but instead stops himself, perturbed by the reaction and newfound arrogance of his long-time friend.

Before we head to commercial, we see Santos Escobar, alongside Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza backstage. It would appear that the latter two have just had a telling off following their earlier loss. Escobar can be heard saying that he'll right the wrongs and put Legado Del Fantasma back on the right path. However, the motivational speech is cut short as the turn to see the members of Hit Row trying to hold their laughter. Escobar brushes this off, "Ingnóralos", he mutters as he leads his team off. Once they're out of shot, Hit Row continues to revel in the misfortune of their Latino Legion.

The generic murmurings of "Steel Accelerator" can be heard as we prepare for the penultimate match of the evening. "The Sauce" Ari Sterling steps out to a decent reaction from the crowd, having built up a 4-1 winning streak since his debut. Sterling rushes to the ring and climbs to the top rope as he looks out to the WWE Universe.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following contest is scheduled for one fall. First making his way to the ring, from Lexington, Kentucky. Weighing in at 185 pounds...ARI STERLING!"

Joseph notes how impressive Sterling has been as of late and with the open challenge set by Kushida, Sterling would surely be one to give the champion one hell of a battle. McGuiness reminds us that before Sterling can focus on the title, he has to go through a former champion and a man, who is far from happy with his current trajectory. The familiar theme of "Soul March" begins to play for a second time tonight as out comes the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion makes his way out from the curtain.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"...And his opponent, from Mexico City, Mexico. Representing Legado Del Fantasma, weighing in at 200 pounds...SANTOS ESCOBAR!"

It appears that Escobar is going alone tonight, with both Wilde and Mendoza nowhere to be seen. Joseph puts over the frustration of the former El Hijo Del Fantasma, following the loss of his Cruiserweight Championship, the unsuccessful challenge to the North American Championship, and the jabs being delivered by Isaiah Scott and his Hit Row cohorts. Escobar marches up the steel steps and climbs into the ring, posing in the center before looking over to his opponent, who stands in the opposite corner.

SANTOS ESCOBAR vs. ARI STERLING

No sooner had the bell rang, the two men begin to lock up in the ring with Escobar getting the power advantage with an early wristlock locked in tight. Sterling struggles momentarily before rolling through and kipping up to trap Escobar in a wristlock of his own. Similarly, Escobar manages to roll through and out of the hold and does to strike his opponent only for
"The Sauce" to turn it into a backslide pin attempt - Escobar's shoulders are down.

Escobar manages to roll back into a standing position and takes another swipe at Sterling, who this time manages to lock in a headlock before taking the former King Cueno down and transitioning into a backslide. Tom Castor makes the count...

NOPE...ANOTHER KICK OUT!

Both men are back to their feet, this time Santos Escobar successfully catches Sterling with a kick to the kneecap, followed by a spin kick to the gut before trapping his opponent in an Abdominal Stretch. McGuinness praises Escobar for taking back control of the pace of the match. Escobar knows that if he doesn't keep "The Sauce" grounded, then he leaves himself open to attack. The crowd begins to rally behind Sterling he manages to back into the Head of LDF, he does this again until he can hit an elbow to the face of the young veteran. Sterling manages to sweep the legs, looking around the crowd he runs the ropes and hits a rolling axe kick. McGuinness states that Sterling should have attempted the pin, but the up-and-comer instead continues to shine.

Dragging Escobar up to his feet, he Irish whips him into the corner but Escobar manages to stop himself from colliding with the turnbuckle. Sterling looks to follow up but Escobar manages to duck under and hit a jumping calf kick that sends "The Sauce" spilling out of the ring. Escobar looks around the crowd, his frustration turning into confidence - or perhaps that's arrogance? He follows up with a suicide dive to the outside while the fans knock on the plexiglass to see the action up close.

The referee begins to make the count to ten, neither man wanting to lose by count-out. The two men begin to battle it out on the ground, trying to make their way back to their feet as they exchange chops. Sterling misses wildly, caught up in the moment, a brief misstep that allows Santos Escobar to hit a big-time SIT-OUT POWERBOMB! The referee's count is now up to 7. Escobar rushes Sterling into the ring and gets Sterling into a lateral press.

ONE...

Has Santos Escobar redeemed himself?

NOT THIS TIME
.

Escobar can't believe it and begins to argue with the referee. Sterling looks down and out, so Escobar covers again but Sterling only manages to kick out once again. Angered, Escobar begins to climb the ropes as he looks around the crowd - who knows what he's going to try at this point? He turns to see that Sterling is struggling back to his feet and seems to opt against trying anything. Sterling takes a run-up and tries to hit a penalty kick but Escobar blocks it and pushes Sterling back....in a frenzied spot, Sterling takes another run and jumps up, knocking Escobar into a seated position...AVALANCHE DRAGONRANA!

ONE...

Somehow El Hijo Del Fantasma manages to get the shoulder up! Sterling can't believe it but it's clear that fatigue is beginning to set in. Sterling gets back to his feet, with Escobar just trailing behind - RUNNING BICYCLE KNEE! The former Cruiserweight Champion ducks out the way and lifts him into a PHANTOM DRIVER! But Sterling drops down...O'CONNOR ROLL!

THE REFEREE COUNTS THREE!

The crowd is in complete shock. Ari Sterling is in complete shock. Santos Escobar is in shock and hurries after Sterling, who scrambles out of the ring.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"Your winner, by pinfall...ARI STERLING!"

The crowd is in complete shock. Ari Sterling is in complete shock. Santos Escobar is in shock and hurries after Sterling, who scrambles out of the ring. Tom Castor follows "The Sauce" out of the ring and raises his hand in his victory. Santos Escobar holds his head in despair and disbelief as Nigel McGuinness says that this is a dark day for Legado Del Fantasma and Vic Joseph ponders whether Escobar can get out of what appears to be the start of a losing streak.

We're reminded of how Oney Lorcan rose to the occasion earlier this evening by aggressively defeating Leon Ruff. Vic Joseph says that since the match, The Way has sent in the following reaction video. Austin Theory and Johnny Gargano are decked in their latest range of apparel.

The-Way-Segment.png

JOHNNY GARGANO
"Well I guess all I can say is congratulations Oney, you really proved yourself tonight...against Leon Ruff. Chef's Kiss"

There's a brief close-up of Austin Theory giving the side-eye over that statement, while Gargano gives an actual Chef's Kiss.

JOHNNY GARGANO
"I'll give credit where credit is due, Peter, it must've taken a lot of effort to stand by and not get involved in any shenanigans but as you know - I'm a family man and NXT is a family show and it is of my humble opinion that finger-breaking and knocking people out cold doesn't adhere to The Way's family values."

Theory shakes his head in disappointment.

AUSTIN THEORY
"As a future star, I thought that success was all about bending whatever rules were available to get what I want. Now, I see the error of my ways. Oney, I'm just disappointed that you caved into peer pressure at the first hurdle - what would Danny say?"

Gargano looks bemused at Theory's unorthodox approach, but somewhat proud of him for following the lessons of The Way.

JOHNNY GARGANO
"Indeed. I mean, it's clear as day that all of Peter's real friends are either injured or unable to make the trip out here, so instead he's turned to you and that's just not fair on you Oney. That's not The Way." he shakes his head. "However, I realize by now that Peter's probably gotten under your skin, so I guess that means he can finally get what he wants? Another chance to face me...."

Austin quickly jumps into the shot and shoots a goofy grin.

AUSTIN THEORY
"...And me!"

"Johnny Wrestling" jockeys to get back into the frame again and stands with Theory in solidarity.

JOHNNY GARGANO
"Right! The chance to face us. So we've already made the call, all you have to do is agree and I have no doubt you will. Next Tuesday, The Way versus...." he begins to trail off. "...whatever it is you two decide to call yourselves in a tag team match. Because if we can teach you, we're gonna have to beat you."

Gargano looks pretty pleased with that last line as he walks away. Theory meanwhile continues to smile at the camera. Johnny can be heard whispering and telling Theory to follow him, prompting the up-and-comer to look off-camera, realizing his error and hurrying off - but not before he gets one last word in.

AUSTIN THEORY
"See you next week!"

We fade to black as we then see (in 'real-time') the NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Kushida, warming up backstage. His Open Challenge is NEXT.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is your MAIN EVENT of the evening and it is an OPEN CHALLENGE for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship of the World! Introducing to the ring first, the reigning and defending champion, weighing 192 Pounds...KUSHIDAAAAA!"

"New Moon" blares out across the PA system as a focused Kushida makes his way out to a great reception from the crowd. McGuinness gives props to "The Time Splitter" for wanting to be a fighting champion and arranging this Open Challenge with William Regal. It is understood that if Kushida wins tonight, he will continue to defend the title for the remaining episodes of 205 Live - if he is knocked off by a challenger, then they will take his place in the challenge - meaning the championship could change hands three times (including tonight). Kushida enters the ring standing on the top turnbuckle and checking the time.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"...And his opponent..."

Kushida climbs back down the turnbuckle and unstraps the championship from around his waist, placing it over his shoulder as he awaits his opponent, his focus on the entrance ramp.

KUSHIDA vs. ??? | OPEN CHALLENGE FOR THE NXT CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

VIC JOSEPH
"This is the moment we've been waiting for - Kushida has issued the challenge to all comers..."

NIGEL MCGUINNESS
"Let's hope he's been doing his homework. He's going to need all the help he can get tonight."

An unknown theme begins to play. It takes a couple of moments for the letters to appear before the crowd realizes who it is.

NIGEL MCGUINNESS
"Oh boy. We are in for a treat!"

ALICIA TAYLOR
"...From Detroit, Michigan, weighing 205 pounds exactly...ALEX SHELLEY!"

VIC JOSEPH
"Well, you said you hoped the champion has done his homework. I think he might know this guy's repertoire. The two have trained together back in Japan, they've tagged together. Alex Shelley is back!"

NIGEL MCGUINNESS
"And he's in magnificent shape! He looks to have cut weight since the last time we've seen him. Which bodes well, if you don't meet the weight limit, you don't get the shot."

Kushida looks pleasantly surprised as he meets eyes with Shelley. Referee,
Aja Smith, raises the championship, displaying what is at stake as she calls for the bell. Kushida extends his hand and unlike in previous bouts tonight, Shelley accepts without any foul play taking place. The crowd begins to calm down as they wait for the action to unfold in our main event. The two men start by circling one another, trying to suss the other out before locking up in the center of the ring. Shelley starts by wrenching the arm of the champion, but Kushida rolls through and delivers a kick to the face to quickly break the hold. Both men quickly get back to their feet as they stare one another down, trying to get the psychological advantage.

The two lock up again, this time Kushida manages to get the advantage as he applies a knuckle lock, which sends Shelley bending over backwards. The shoulders are on the mat...

ONE...

But Kushida elevates Shelley's shoulder off of the mat and brings his opponent back to his feet. The move could have proven costly however as "The Student of the Game" powers Kushida into the turnbuckle but before he could strike, Kushida quickly moves out of the way and backs off. The two men stare each other down once more. The two lock up once more, Kushida drops behind Alex Shelley and locks in a waist lock before Shelley jabs away to release the arm and goes for a wristlock. McGuinness points out that Shelley seems to be targeting the arms/wrist of the champion, potentially to stop him from applying the Hoverboard Lock. Shelly continues to wrench on the wrist of Kushida, who now has the fans cheering for him, trying to keep him motivated.

Kushida rolls out of the wristlock again hitting a snapmare as the two former tag team partners keep it ground-based for now. The champion allows Shelley back to his feet and in shades of Sterling vs. Escobar goes for the O'Connor roll, but Alex Shelley grabs the ropes to keep himself up as Kushida drops backward - dropkick by the former TNA World Tag Team Champion as he sends the champion down. Shelley rallies the crowd as he quickly climbs the ropes looking for a DOUBLE STOMP! Trying to take this match to the next level.....Kushida moves out of the way but Shelley forecasts this and rolls forward, escaping any damage and getting back to his feet. The two men charge towards each other, Shelley looks to be going for something but the champ manages to reverse it into an arm drag, then locks in an armbar as Shelley quickly realizes he's in danger.

Looking around the ring, Shelley reaches the leg to be able to place it under the bottom rope as Smith instructs Kushida to break the hold, which he respectfully follows. Shelley crawls forward while Kushida stalks his prey, he gets the waist lock-in, is he looking for the German Suplex? HE LIFTS SHELLEY OFF OF HIS FEET! But Shelley manages to grab the ropes to help prevent the attack. Kushida releases the hold and steps back - SUPERKICK BY ALEX SHELLEY! Kushida is dazed and confused now, but somehow still standing. Shelley tries to capitalize and sends the Cruiserweight Champion into the ropes but Kushida rebounds with and HANDSPRING BACK ELBOW! Cover...

"The Time Splitter" holds his head, still feeling the effects of Shelley's superkick. Shelley staggers to his feet while Kushida runs the ropes...ATOMIC DROP! A desperate power play made by the challenger. Shelly drapes over the champion this time, but only manages a two-count. "The Next" rises to his feet and executes an arm drag, followed by a second as Kushida is whipped onto the mat before Irish whipping Kushida into the corner. Shelley takes a run-up but is met with a forearm smash to the face, the champion looks for a second strike but this time Shelley catches the wrist and ties it up in the ropes as Aja Smith begins a count. Kushida's arm now trapped over the top rope, Alex Shelley takes advantage as he drops the below quickly before the five-count can be reached. The challenger now takes the champion into the ropes but Kushida is able to catch himself in the ropes as Shelley charges....but Kushida moves out of the way as Shelley falls to the floor on the outside. Would it be a Cruiserweight match if no one dived to the outside? Of course not. TOP CON HILO EXECUTED! Causing the fans to cheer. Vic Joseph says that this one is going to go down to the wire.

SHELLEY GETS THE SHOULDER UP!

The match has taken its toll on these two, Kushida gets a bit of breathing space in, but as he lifts Shelley to his feet, he's met with an echoing chop across his chest and hits a FLATLINER! The crowd now cheers for Shelley, seemingly wanting a new champion to be crowned as he looks around the audience and lifts Kushida to his feet...
HE'S THINKING ABOUT IT...HE'S GOING FOR THE SLICED BREAD (#2)...Shelley takes the run-up, but Kushida tries to run him into the top turnbuckle. However, Shelley manages to get the leg on the second turnbuckle to keep the moment as he rolls through into the BORDER CITY LOCK! CENTER OF THE RING! The fans are on their feet. Kushida is trying to reach for the ropes, realizing that he has everything to lose.

Kushida tries to power to his feet....he has the knee up, Shelley is losing his grip as he's lifted off of his feet into a Swinging Facebuster. Kushida looks around the crowd and looks at the time on his imaginary watch......
HOVERBOARD LOCK! THE HOVERBOARD LOCK IS APPLIED TIGHT...HE TAPS! HE TAPS! SHELLEY SUBMITS! Kushida releases the hold as he collapses to the mat in sheer exhaustion.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"Here is your winner by submission and still the NXT Cruiserweight Champion...KUSHIDA!"

The crowd is on their feet applauding both men as Aja Smith hands "The Time Splitter" the purple strap. Kushida is knelt on the mat as he turns to Shelley and in a display of sportsmanship, pulls him close into an embrace. "New Moon" begins to play as Vic Joseph hails it the perfect ending to the first leg towards 205 Live: End of the Line. Nigel McGuinness hopes that Kushida has energy left in the tank because as per the stipulation, he's got to do it all again against a brand new opponent next week. We're thanked for our time as 205 Live draws to a close.

NEWS & NOTES
FURTHER REGAL SPECULATION. NXT EVOLVE. REBRAND RUMOURS

As previously suspected, William Regal confirmed that he would be relinquishing his position as General Manager of NXT on this past week's NXT. It is still unconfirmed as to whether the decision is as part of a storyline or if Regal is expected to leave the company altogether as had been rumoured. Interestingly, Regal's son Bailey Matthews was signed to the company at the start of the year. While he is yet to debut, he has been given the ring name Charlie Dempsey. As a result, some are under the impression that Regal will be working backstage with the NXT UK brand.

Special 'End of the Line' editions of NXT and 205 Live have been announced for the 2nd and 6th of July respectively. While NXT: End of Line will represent the brand entering a new phase, the 205 Live equivalent will see the cruiserweight brand come to an end. It has been confirmed that a new show, dubbed NXT Evolve, will take the Friday night slot and focus on up-and-coming talent (which is something that the powers that be wanted to invest in as part of this new phase). Peacock is also looking at dedicating further time to the final 205 Live episodes and the new NXT Evolve.

The NXT Cruiserweight Championship will remain active as it's thought the cruiserweight division will shift over to the main NXT brand. One match has been confirmed so far, Karrion Kross, defending the NXT Championship against the NXT North American Champion, Bronson Reed.

The changes aren't just on-screen, in line with the rebrand, there will be a 'lighter' and 'vibrant' new set built at the Capitol Wrestling Centre, hailing back to the original concept of using the show to experiment with new technology and trialling new concepts. It is believed that that the Takeover name, used since 2014, may be dropped or saved for bigger events (in line with the main roster's Big 4). NXT pay-per-views and special events will also likely move to Saturday Nights. Finally, a rankings system has been discussed, albeit not done in the same format as rivals All Elite Wrestling - this would explain Bronson Reed's contender status for the NXT Championship.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Kushida, kicked off his Open Challenge on 205 Live this past week. Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness confirmed that the winner of each challenge will go on to defend the title until the 205 Live: End of the Line special. The first challenger was Kushida's former training and tag team partner, Alex Shelley, who previously appeared as part of the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Classic. Shelley has made appearances on both Impact Wrestling and Major League Wrestling and has gone on the record saying that he does not wish to sign with a promotion currently. Apparently, this statement prompted officials to extend an offer to the Motor City Machine Gun member on a guest appearance basis.

REVIEW: NXT TAKEOVER: IN YOUR HOUSE
SUNDAY 13 JUNE, 2021

- It feels like such a long time that JONAH (Bronson Reed) was part of NXT - and it feel so refreshing to see him with a belt in this flash back only a year ago. The contest is a great way to open the show and I do feel that Trios match is a stipulation that the fed often struggles to use so I love that you open with it.
- Xia Li vs. Martinez was a great match - and I must admit I don't know much IRL about Xia Li - but I am curious to see where she goes in this project.
- Prefer LA Knight with the belt - Cameron Grimes has always grated me and I do think Eli Drake has a whole lot more potential as a wrestle.
- I do think Raquel is so over-rated - but I also have no problem with her holding the belt. The match does come off well though and I am really engaging with this BTB.
- The main event was excellent, and I really think helps set the tone for this project.

I know I am going to enjoy this and my older brother always name drops you when he remembers his favorite BTB and I can inform him that your standard is still A+++

NXT [EPISODE #462] "WHAT'S NeXT" PREVIEW
"Once again, it's all been happening on the black and gold brand but thankfully I, McKenzie Mitchell, am here to keep you in the loop of what's happening next in NXT.

There was no shortage of shocks last week, with William Regal confirming that he will hand over the reins of NXT to a mystery successor in two weeks
, at a very special event, NXT: End of the Line. A night that will usher us into a new era of the brand. That's not all, NXT North American Champion could stand to hold another belt as he was declared the new number one contender to Karrion Kross' title. With five matches confirmed for this week, let's take a closer look at what's to come..."

Bronson-Reed-in-Action-2.png
BRONSON REED IN ACTION!
"As mentioned, last week William Regal announced that none other than "Aus-Zilla" himself, Bronson Reed, would be the man to face Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship at NXT: End of the Line. Having won his past 5 matches, the NXT North American Champion will return to the Capitol Wrestling Centre on Tuesday night. While his opponent is yet to be named, I've been informed that both Mr Regal and Bronson Reed have agreed to Kross' proposal of a Pick Your Poison stipulation. This means that "The Devil of Monterrey" now has the power to potentially hinder his contender's chances at challenging for his title if he chooses wisely this week."

Kyle-O-Reilly-vs-Asher-Hale.png
KYLE O'REILLY vs. ASHER HALE
"The past few weeks have been tough for Kyle O'Reilly, who not only failed to become NXT Champion at Takeover: In Your House, but also found himself embroiled in a fierce rivalry with former Undisputed ERA member, Adam Cole. Last week "The Panama City Playboy" attacked O'Reilly's long-time friend Bobby Fish in the main event, which prompted Fish to turn his back on "Cool Kyle". This week, Kyle returns to singles action taking on rising talent, Asher Hale, who is 2-1 in his past three matches on 205 Live. With everything that's been going on, will Kyle be able to keep his head in the game or will Asher Hale prevail? And will Cole try and insert himself into the picture once more?"

LA-Knight-in-Action.png
LA KNIGHT TO APPEAR!
"Last week, LA Knight held his very own Million Dollar Celebration - a spectacle that some called 'obnoxious' and 'narcissistic'. This week, Knight will return to the ring, hoping to continue the celebrations but this time in the form of a singles bout. Now I've heard rumblings that some of the other champions in NXT didn't take too kindly to Knight's critiques last week, so will the Million Dollar Champion be able to hush the naysayers, or will he leave the Capitol Wrestling Centre red-faced and forced to eat his own words?"

Xia-Li-vs-Persia-Pirotta.png
PERSIA PIROTTA vs. XIA LI w/ TIAN SHA
"Since Mei Ying inducted Boa and Xia Li into Tian Sha, it seems that the trio have become unstoppable, with Li most recently beating Mercedes Martinez at Takeover: In Your House. Last week, Tian Sha seemed particularly interested in hearing what NXT Women's Champion, Raquel González and Dakota Kai had to say. Does Tian Sha have gold in their sights? Xia will first need to focus on her match against the debuting Persia Pirotta, a powerhouse and close friend of NXT Women's Tag Team Champion Indi Hartwell. Pirotta now faces the hard task of extinguishing Xia's winning streak. Tune in on Tuesday to see if she can do it."

The-Way-vs-Pete-Dunne-Oney-Lorcan.png
THE WAY [AUSTIN THEORY & JOHNNY GARGANO] vs. PETE DUNNE & ONEY LORCAN
"Speaking of The Way....as confirmed on this past episode of 205 Live, Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory will be in tag team action against Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. We've seen the mean streak of the former NXT United Kingdom Champion in recent weeks and now with Lorcan at his side, it seems "The Bruiserweight" is hellbent on taking down "Johnny Wrestling" and his 'family'. Gargano and Theory have accused Dunne of manipulating his tag team partner, but will this affect Lorcan's mindset in this Tuesday's main event?"

REVIEW: NXT #461

- Liked the portrayal of the Grizzled Young Veterans and even know they are heels - can't pretend I am not a fan of them though. A solid win and all of this is leading up to a feud with MSK. I think the GYZ have such a large potential to be a really big team in NXT - so am crossing my fingers they get a big push.
- Also enjoyed the interaction between Hit Row and Legado del Fantasma - I am really enjoy the promo segments you are writing; you really are very good at them.
- Got to love a bit of psycho Pete Dunne - and you are doing a great job with him right here!
- The promo exchange between Thatcher and Fish was great - it really built up my anticipation
- Great Mercedes Martinez promo as well - there is a heavy level of realism here.
- Shotzi vs. Kai is a great match - really great match! Tegan Nox returning is a very cool idea - love a bit of Nixon Newell.
- LA Knight - on fucking point. Was Eli Drake through and through.
- Thatcher and Fish was BOMB-BOMBASTIC!
- Sad to see Regal bowing out - honestly hope you have somer just as colourful to replace him. Reed vs. Kross has a lot of potential though.

REALLY GREAT EPISODE - generally not a fan of such long weekly but is very well written.

NXT [EPISODE #462] TUESDAY 22 JUNE, 2021
CAPITOL PERFORMANCE CENTER ‣ ORLANDO, FLORIDA

‣ ...And we're back! We are welcome to the show by Vic Joseph, who sits between "Bad News" Wade Barrett and "The Glamazon" Beth Phoenix. We are promised a night full of action with six confirmed matches, but before he can run down the card, the fans spring to life as the NXT North American Champion, Bronson Reed, makes his presence felt in the Capitol Wrestling Performance Center without even stepping out from the curtain.

"War Ready" plays out as Reed comes roaring out from behind the curtain, dressed for action and ready for whatever the NXT Champion has to throw at him. Phoenix reminds those who didn't catch "What's NeXT" that the General Manager, William Regal, had granted Karrion Kross' request to permit him to choose Reed's opponent. Barrett suggests that this is only fair considering that Regal had ambushed "The Herald of Doomsday" with the announcement that he would be defending his title against Reed at NXT: End of the Line.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following non-title match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing to the ring first, from Black Forest, South Australia, weighing 330 pounds.... he is the NXT North American Champion...BRONSON REED!"

He's war-ready, he's battle-tested and the crowd is behind him ahead of this non-title bout, hammering on the Plexiglas. Reed stands in the center of the ring and raises the title but his concentration is broken by the familiar sounds of "
Dead Silence".

The picture turns black and white, smoke begins to pillow from the entrance stage, much to the annoyance of the no-nonsense number one contender in the ring. Reed gestures for Kross to come down to the ring, clearly not interested in the theatrics. The lights flicker, and we see just the silhouette of a veiled Scarlett standing at the top of the entrance, the crowd then jeers at Kross, who steps in front of her. "The Devil of Monterrey" stares coldly down at Reed, who remains unphased. Scarlett throws off her veil and reveals a microphone, which she hands to the champion before they begin to approach the squared circle.

Kross halts just before the steel steps, with Scarlett draping her arm over him. Kross looks around the crowd and then back to "The Colossal". Joseph wonders what the champion has in store before being hushed by Barrett.

Karrion-Kross-Segment.png

KARRION KROSS

"I won't keep you, Mr. Reed. I know that you've been waiting for this, and I know you're looking to add another piece of gold around your waist. The problem is Mr. Reed, no matter how hard you hit tonight, no matter the damage you inflict upon your opponent, you - like so many before you - will never hit hard enough to knock me off my throne. I don't care what the outcome of this match is because we..." he gestures to both himself and Scarlett. "...already the outcome. We're already several steps ahead of you. You can call this your 'test', you can think of this as a 'gauntlet' but when it came down to it, I made my decision based on who could hurt you the most. You might seek validation, but I brought CHAOS" he pauses. "And sure, you're a behemoth, you're "The Colossal" and with that in mind...I chose "The Beast"...."

The camera zooms in on Scarlett who gestures towards the entrance stage, holding out her hand and unveiling the 'poison' or rather "The Beast". A piercing scream is let out across the PA system as "Darkness Past" by Def Revel plays out.

Killian Dain charges out from the curtain, thumping his chest in a display of dominance. Barrett commends the NXT Champion on his decision to pick Dain, pointing out that he is a close match in terms of weight and towers above the North American Champion. Vic says that it's only been a few weeks since we've seen Dain in action but his demeanor is remarkably different.

ALICIA TAYLOR

"His opponent, weighing in at 321 pounds...."THE BEAST OF BELFAST"...KILLIAN DAIN!"

Dain makes his way towards the ring, Kross turns, the two men give each other a knowing glance. Scarlett points towards the ring, with the Northern Irish native obliging, hammering on the ring apron. The two big men's eyes meet for the first time, Kross stopping and looking back with a grin. Joseph indicates that Kross wants to watch the violence unfold in front of him.

Bronson-Reed-vs-Killian-Dain.png

BRONSON REED © vs. KILLIAN DAIN | PICK YOUR POISON MATCH

Reed hands his North American Championship over to Darryl Sharma, the momentary distraction providing all the opportunity a re-energized Killian Dain needed to attempt to sneak attack "Aus-Zilla". Reed catches the attempt with a strike that sends the former Big Damo back, stopping him in his tracks. Dain checks for blood and looks around the crowd, who seem in full support of Reed, prompting tensions to escalate as the two men go nose-to-nose. Karrion Kross and Scarlett look on from the outside.

Neither man backs down, Dain shoves Reed, prompting the two to then grapple. Joseph once again reminds us that these two men are evenly matched, much to the chagrin of Wade Barrett. Reed tries to wrestle Dain into the ropes and throw him off - and just like that, he does it. "The Beast of Belfast" comes off the ropes with a shoulder block, but this only sends Reed stumbling back. Dain challenges the North American Champion to try and knock him down, but Reed's attempt only achieves the same result with Dain failing to fall this time. Dain takes his chance, but the two men are at a stalemate once more. Phoenix argues with the logic of the two men trying to outdo each other rather than trying to win the match. Reed looks around the crowd, who clap and cheer as he runs the ropes but this time he's caught completely off guard by a crossbody from Dain! (also known as The Divide).

ONE...

TW...

Barely a two-count, frustrating Killian Dain, who wipes his brow and plans his next move. Barrett commends "The Beast" on luring the North American Champion in and suggests his combination of speed and power made him an easy choice for Karrion Kross, who is giving nothing away with his expression right now. Dain whips Reed into the corner (Irish style) and hits an uppercut, which sends Reed stumbling into the neighboring turnbuckle. Dain wallops Reed with an elbow before backing up in the opposite corner and hurdling towards the number one contender like a steam train! Kross begins to smile again on the outside...BUT BRONSON MOVES OUT OF THE WAY! Reed this time quickly follows up with a splash to Dain in the corner as the crowd once again begin to get onside.

Bronson Reed roars again, looking over to Dain, who is now seated in the corner...RUNNING HIP ATTACK! The North American champion drags Kain away from the ropes.

ONE...

TWO...

NO!

Dain manages to get the shoulder up before making a hasty exit from the ring. Darryl Sharma initiates the ten count but before Dain can turn around...SHADES OF STAN HANSEN...A SHOULDER BLOCK FROM THE APRON!... BUT DAIN MOVES OUT THE WAY! We pick up the thud of the champion's shoulder hitting the floor. Kross slowly begins to walk down the aisle, he tells Dain to stay back while Sharma warns the NXT Champion not to get involved. Kross drags Reed to his feet and begins to whisper "Embrace it. Just give in to it!" (which is just about audible). Kross backs away, which allows Dain to hit a Barn River Boot! He rolls into the ring and backs out again to break the count, it seems that the violence the champion was looking for was about to ensue.

The referee restarts the count, which gives allows Dain time to hit a running senton. Dain laughs maniacally as Reed tries to get to his feet and tries balancing against a conspicuous part of the guard rail that features no attendees......DAIN LOOKS TO CANNONBALL REED!.... HE CHARGES...BUT REED MOVES OUT THE WAY AS DAIN GOES THROUGH THE GUARD RAIL. Commentary is flabbergasted and Kross begins to look panicked.

Bronson Reed is back on his feet, he grabs Dain by the hair and drags him back towards the ring, rolling his opponent back into the ring. Reed makes the cover...

ONE...

TWO...

IT'S OVER...

NO, IT'S NOT!

Reed looks out to Kross before looking at the wreckage of his opponent in the ring. Dragging Killian back to his feet, the two men go nose to nose once more. Reverting to the initial sequence of the match, Reed goes for a shoulder tackle but still, Dain doesn't go down. Dain, slightly dishevelled then goes to do the same but this time it's the Black Forest native who has used his wits and catches the Irish man with a LARIAT! Reed begins to climb the ropes, the crowd is cheering as once more he looks to the NXT Champion and signals for the belt.....

TSUNAMI!

FLESH COLLIDES WITH FLESH AS THE TWO 300+ POUNDERS COLLIDE!
Reed makes the cover.

ONE...

TWO...

NOW IT'S OVER!

Sharma calls for the bell as Reed stumbles back to his feet, favoring his shoulder after several collisions in this battle of the behemoths. Reunited with the North American title.

ALICIA TAYLOR

"Here is your winner, the NXT North American Champion.....BRONSON REED!"

Reed raises his championship slowly and turns to Kross, who snarls and backs away. Vic Joseph reminds us that the two champions will meet at NXT: End of the Line in just two weeks, where we could crown a new champion. Beth states that Kross may have finally met his match but Barrett rubbishes these claims and says that Kross' mission was accomplished (about the fact that Reed could be hurt just mere weeks before his title opportunity) but Beth jibes that his face says otherwise.

Karrion-Kross-vs-Bronson-Reed.png

Backstage, we see all four members of The Way walking and talking. Johnny Gargano looks to be trying to hype up Austin Theory, who appears excited at their chances in tonight's main event.

JOHNNY GARGANO
"It pains me that the final few weeks of William Regal's NXT have to be filled with perma-tan Peter Dunne and his footman acting like they're something from Game of Thrones. Does Peter think he's flying with the eagles? Well, tonight it's hunting season - Gargano style!"

AUSTIN THEORY
"I bet they're feeling pretty pumped after Oney beat Leon Ruff last week."

JOHNNY GARGANO
"Yes, I'm sure Oney will mark that as one of his career highlights." he scoffs. "I mean, name a person who hasn't beat Leon Ruff around here?"

INDI HARTWELL
"I haven't."

A deflated Indi Hartwell raises her hand as she looks to the floor. Candice LeRae nudges her co-champion, looking to her husband for some inspirational speech.

JOHNNY GARGANO
"Uh right, but the point is you could."

CANDICE LERAE
"And isn't that what really matters?"

Indi looks confused for a moment before smiling and nodding along, having seen 'the way'.

INDI HARTWELL
"Actually, yeah it does! I feel a lot better now."

JOHNNY GARGANO
"Besides, your champions!" he points to the straps across Indi and Candice's shoulders. "You're the crème de la crème of the NXT women's locker room. Now I didn't want to put too much pressure on you tonight Austin, because I know how overwhelming it can be tagged with Mr. NXT sometimes." Austin shakes his head in agreement. "But after we're done with that miserable Brit and his nodding dog - how about you and I start aiming for the NXT Tag Team Championships?"

Theory's eyes light up, he can't help but beam a smile of excitement. "Johnny Wrestling" tries to keep him in place as Austin bursts into a cheer, like a kid at Christmas.

AUSTIN THEORY
"You mean it!?"

Johnny looks back at Candice, who holds her hands together like a proud mother. Turning to Austin, he simply nods, with the latter throwing his arms around his mentor.

JOHNNY GARGANO
"Hey! No need to thank me just yet, we've still got to get through tonight and we're not going to be winning any matches by standing around shooting the breeze."

AUSTIN THEORY
"Tyler?"

JOHNNY GARGANO
"What? No. Forget about him, we've got work to do. C'mon!"

Gargano herds his 'family' as a new face in the form of Persia Pirotta catches the eye of an old friend.

INDI HARTWELL
"Persia!?

The other three stop while Indi grabs Persia's hand and the two make some sort of inaudible screaming to each other, hugging and jumping around. Indi catches herself for a moment.

INDI HARTWELL
"This is Persia...." there's an awkward silence. "You know, Persia from Skype!?"

AUSTIN THEORY
"Does anyone even use that anymore?"

Johnny gives Austin a light clip across the ear.

JOHNNY GARGANO
"Persia, it's a pleasure but Austin and I must really get on!"

Johnny leads Austin away, Candice goes to follow but Indi drags her tag team partner back. Mrs. LeRae rolls her eyes but feigns a smile to the former Steph De Lander.

INDI HARTWELL
"No, you can't go! Persia is literally my best friend....other than you of course."

CANDICE LERAE
"It's nice to meet you, Portia. I'm sure Indi's told me a lot about you."

PERSIA PIROTTA
"I mean, it's Persia but that's fine, maybe I misheard you and actually we've met a bunch of times." Persia picks up on Candice's vacant expression. "It was on Skype, I saw you in the background and said hi...." LeRae's expression remains the same. "It's totally fine, it was probably a bad signal or something."

Before Candice can respond, Indi jumps into the conversation throwing her arms around each of her friends.

INDI HARTWELL
"I can't tell you how happy I am to see my two besties getting along so well but that doesn't mean you're off the hook Persia! I can't believe you came all this way and never mentioned anything? You know I hate surprises."

PERSIA PIROTTA
"I know, I know but everything happened so fast. I put my name forward for a try-out here and they just phoned and asked if I could make my way down, so I thought why not!?"

CANDICE LERAE
"So you came all this way for a match!?"

PERSIA PIROTTA
"Sure did. I don't even know what time zone I'm in right now, but you know, I just wanted this so much, I couldn't say no.

INDI HARTWELL
"That's fantastic, Persia! You're going to be amazing." she turns to Candice. "Persia is like super strong. "Show us the guns, Pers." Indi tries to get Persia to flex. "So, who are you facing?"

PERSIA PIROTTA
"Xia Li."

The atmosphere changes. Indi distances herself from Persia slightly. Candice can't help but wince, but Pirotta seems unaware of this.

INDI HARTWELL
"Oh Xia, wow. Intense. That's amazing...I'm really happy for you..."

CANDICE LERAE
"You are going to be just fine out there, Portia. Good luck!"

PERSIA PIROTTA
"Umm, thanks? Anyway, I better get out there fast. I don't want to make a bad first impression and I wanna make sure I remember every moment! I'll catch you guys after the match?

INDI HARTWELL
"Definitely!"

Indi gives an awkward thumbs up and pats her fellow Aussie on the back. Persia departs, preparing for the match (coming up next). Candice exhales loudly, giving a knowing glance to Indi.

CANDICE LERAE
"Oh, she's going to remember every moment alright."

Commentary plug that Xia Li will take on the debuting Persia Pirotta before reminding us that tonight's main event will feature The Way against Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. We then cut to the commercial break.

Heading back from the commercial, commentary reminds us of Xia Li's dominating performance against Mercedes Martinez at NXT Takeover: In Your House. Vic Joseph quips that Li has been unstoppable under the guidance of Mei Ying and aligning with Tian Sha. Beth adds that Martinez is a veteran and defeating her was no easy feat. Wade says that if anything was last week to go by, Xia may already have the NXT Women's Champion in her sights after watching Raquel González last week and advises that the champion needs to keep one eye on her back at all times.

The lights are lower, we can only see the flame effects on the LED panels that surround the Capitol Performance Center. The cameras zoom in on the disheveled face of Mei Ying, who is seated at her throne, guarded by Boa.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Chongqing, China, accompanied by Tian Sha and weighing 136 pounds...XIA LI!"

Boa looks down upon his guardian, almost as if he's bowing before her. Xia Li then steps out, donning her Weimao and making her way down the aisle with Boa following behind her. Li bows her head, allowing Boa to remove the Weimao and unveil Xia's expression - one of ill intent. If Persia Pirotta wasn't intimidated before, then she soon would be as Xia performs her combat ritual before angrily stepping into the ring and staring across at her opponent.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"And her opponent, already in the ring, from Sydney, Australia. Weighing in at 187 pounds...PERSIA PIROTTA!"

Barrett advises that Persia should've stayed at home as the crowd gives a small cheer to the plucky talent, who eagerly waits for her debut match.

Xia-Li-vs-Persia-Pirotta.png

PERSIA PIROTTA vs. XIA LI w/ TIAN SHA

Jessika Carr calls for the bell, the two women step in front of each other and Li immediately slaps the face of Persia, who Beth notes has at least 40 pounds on her. Barrett shoots "The Glamazon" down and says that Xia has been conditioned by Mei Ying to accept nothing less than victory and that weight means nothing in this instance.

Persia holds her face, looking back round as she attempts to strike with a forearm but Li catches the arm and sweeps the leg to floor her opponent. Xia bends the knee and licks the palm of her hand, smiling with bad intentions...TORNADO KICK!

ONE...

TWO...

But Persia gets the shoulder up! The camera focuses on an angered Mei Ying. Meanwhile, Xia lifts Persia to her feet and begins with a series of knee strikes, each one more thunderous than the last. Li then backs away, creating some distance for an elegantly set up SPINNING HEEL KICK! But Persia catches the heel and lifts Xia! The crowd is cheering as Persia psyches herself up, Li is in Gorilla Press territory. Beth puts over the strength of the Aussie native as backstage we see Indi Hartwell excitedly tap on Candice's shoulder, trying to get her to watch the match (but LeRea seems far from interested).

Barrett is cautious that Persia still has Xia lifted and hasn't followed up and it seems his fears are confirmed when Xia manages to drop down and land on her feet. Persia, now hesitant to turn around, slowly shuffles and is met with a vicious Spinning Heel Kick!

ONE...

...

TWO...

....

THREE!

ALICIA TAYLOR

"Here is your winner, by pinfall, Xia Li!"

Xia Li gets back to her feet, looking down at Pirotta who could be knocked out cold. Jessika Carr checks on her but it seems Mei Ying has other ideas. Almost like Caesar himself, Ying raises her arm and gives a thumbs down. Li then shoves Carr aside and immediately begins the assault.

The bell is ringing out, but thankfully Persia has connections in the back. NXT Women's Tag Team Champion, Indi Hartwell, comes sprinting out - initially. Candice LeRae reluctantly tows along, Hartwell dragging her friend and mentor, and they both climb into the ring while Ying and Boa watch on.

Li greets Hartwell with a roundhouse kick, causing Candice to stop in her steps and attempt a peaceful retreat. As Candice turns, Xia grabs "The Pixie" and drags her back through the ropes looking for an exploder suplex. LeRae manages to break out of the move but Li's knee strike connects.

Ying holds her thumbs down again, Li goes to drag Candice up but the crowd pop now as "Big Mami Cool" comes hurtling towards the ring, throwing her title on the floor as she rolls in to meet Xia.

VIC JOSEPH

"Business is picking up!"

WADE BARRETT
"Candice LeRae was about 0.2 seconds away from grave danger. Raquel González has shown up in the nick of time."

González chases after Li and the two immediately begin to hammer away at each other. Ying's thumb slowly turns downwards as she sits at her throne. The NXT Women's Champion looks to get the upper hand, managing to grab the throat of Xia and looking for a chokeslam....but Boa from the outside grabs Raquel's leg...SPINNING HEEL KICK! Noticing Indi and Persia getting back to their feet, Xia makes the getaway but not before she is presented the championship by Boa.

The crowd is on their feet again and this time Dakota Kai comes storming out from behind the curtain! Rather than clearinghouse, she instead stares down Mei Ying and approaches Xia and Bo. Kai treads delicately as she holds her hand out to receive the title, Xia obliges and the title is snatched back. Xia Li and Boa begin to back out as "Fighting Spirit" plays. Indi, Persia, and Candice look perturbed at why Dakota didn't do more to help while Raquel checks her nose and jaw.

We are shown a clip of The Grizzled Young Veterans' victory over Breezango last week, hitting the Ticket to Mayhem on Fandango to score the three-count. Backstage, Zack Gibson and James Drake are alone in the interview pit, staring down the barrel of the camera.

GYV-Segment.png

ZACK GIBSON

"For decades, James and I have put blood, sweat, and tears into this industry. You see, growing up in Liverpool, I think it's fair to say that not many dreams have come true. We've fought for bookings, we've scraped our way up the pecking order to prove that we are the best that the United Kingdom..."

The footage then transitions to MSK in action, who remain unbeaten in regular tag team action.

ZACK GIBSON
"Over here, however, you don't have to put in the work, the time, or the effort. You can simply show up and get opportunities handed to you on a plate - just like our resident Cheech and Chong. The last of the three stooges." he looks to Drake, who cracks a smile. "Everybody's rantin' and ravin' about your match weeks ago when we've put on five-star matches ever since we arrived here. When exactly did either of you boys wrestle, eh?"

???
"Good point!"

The camera pans across to show the NXT Tag Team Champions standing by. Wes Lee turns to Nash Carter, both look bemused by what they've heard.

WES LEE
"You two don't need to worry about us, we're good."

NASH CARTER
"Sorry to interrupt, we just couldn't help but overhear your Cinderella story..."

WES LEE
"We get it, you're talented guys but I think you're one thing."

Both men hold up their titles, much to the annoyance of Gibson and Drake. Nash Carter steps forward.

NASH CARTER
"So are we!"

Where Carter steps forward, "Liverpool's Number One" holds his hand up to create some distance between the four men. Drake steps up, staring down Wes Lee.

ZACK GIBSON

Isn't ironic how we're here talking about how the two of you prance around here like you own the place and here you are, taking up OUR time. There's a thing called respect and I suggest you fellas start to learn it."

WES LEE
"Respect? We've got it in spades. It seems like you're the ones that like to talk trash"

NASH CARTER
"Or at least one of you does, anyway..."

Drake picks up on the insult and goes for the attack but Gibson steps in to calm him down.

ZACK GIBSON

"James doesn't need to speak, he prefers his actions to do the talkin'. You see, the pair of us are REAL wrestlers, not glorified circus acts."

WES LEE
"Circus act? Dude, the only clowns I see are right here in front of me. We haven't forgotten how to wrestle..."

NASH CARTER
"And if you think we have, maybe the two of you could tune in next week. We've spoken to William Regal and we've got ourselves a match next week. Perhaps you could see what you have in store for you at End of the Line?"

The Grizzled Young Veterans look to each other, confused at what Carter is implying.

WES LEE
"Oh, you thought we would run away and hide from you? We're the champions. We don't back down from a challenge and if it shuts you both up - even better. So prepare yourselves, because at NXT: End of The Line - IT'S ON!"

The champions smile before making their exit. Gibson and Drake look slightly taken aback, having expected a harder fight to make the match happen. Nonetheless, now they were the official challengers to the NXT Tag Team Championship and just one battle away from being the first team to hold the NXT tag titles on both sides of the pond.

Commentary announces that next week MSK will face Imperium in non-title action. Coming up next, Kyle O'Reilly battles the rising star, Asher Hale. NEXT!

Back to the action, Alicia Taylor introduces Asher Hale, who is already standing by in the ring and receives a small pop. Hale is 2-1 in his last 3 matches, looking to make it a third but his opponent has his point to prove after a trialing few weeks.

Last week on NXT, Adam Cole used former Undisputed Era teammate, Bobby Fish, as a pawn in his rivalry with O'Reilly:

"Axe and Smash" begin to play, and the fans begin to stir for the arrival of "The Martial Artist". Vic Joseph continues to show the highlights (or should that be lowlights?) from O'Reilly's week.

Days later on 205 Live, Kyle finds himself alone:

ALICIA TAYLOR

"...And his opponent, weighing 200 pounds, from Vancouver, British Columbia...KYLE O'REILLY!"

"Cool Kyle" limbers up on the entrance stage before throwing his hood down and making his way down the ramp. Hale prepares in the ring, looking out at the former NXT Tag Team Champion. O'Reilly begins to display his confidence, rocking out to his theme music, much to the enjoyment of the crowd. Beth says that the WWE Universe is watching but none so more intently than Adam Cole. Vic hopes that the "Panama City Playboy" won't go out of his way to get himself involved.

Kyle steps to the second rope and poses before the pumped crowd. Jumping off, O'Reilly comes face to face with his hungry opponent.

Kyle-O-Reilly-vs-Asher-Hale.png

KYLE O'REILLY vs. ASHER HALE

The bell tolls and both men immediately lock up, Hale manages to get O'Reilly into the ropes as the referee, Jason Ayres, begins to make the count to give. Hale breaks the hold at three, backing off and allowing his opponent some breathing space. Hale attempts to get a kick to the mid-section but KOR catches the boot and throws it down, greeting the former Workhorseman with a stiff forearm instead. Rather than following up, O'Reilly this time allows Hale room to get back up and the men begin to circle each other around the ring.

Hale tries to shake off the forearm, re-thinking his tactics, though goes back to first base and competes with Kyle in another lock-up. O'Reilly manages to get Hale into the ropes, to reverse the fortunes of the previous sequence. This time, the referee counts, and O'Reilly backs off before hitting a second forearm. The two men begin to exchange fists around the ring. Joseph mentions that much like the previous match, these two men are evenly matched with their backgrounds in MMA. Barrett agrees that Hale may be new to NXT but on the independent circuit he's known as "
The Patron Saint of Wrestling".

The crowd responds to the exchange in the middle of the ring, Hale throws another fist, and O'Reilly throws his but this time he adds in a kick to send Hale backward. Kyle runs the ropes but Hale drops to the mat, O'Reilly registers this and hops over before flooring Hale with another boot. Hale gets back to his feet and mirrors the offense to take Kyle down. Both men immediately get up and take each other down with stereo running boots!

O'Reilly retreats into the corner. Meanwhile, Hale is knelt on the floor checking his mouth for blood. Beth picks up on the increased aggression in Kyle's performance tonight and hypothesizes that "
Cool Kyle" may be projecting. Kyle takes a run at Asher, who dodges the oncoming attack and hits a dropkick. Cover:

ONE...

Nowhere near enough to take O'Reilly out. Barrett explains that it takes a lot of energy to kick out of a pinning attempt and with O'Reilly controlling the match so far, this could be a tactic by Hale to wear his opponent out. Kyle gets over to the turnbuckle and gets back to his feet but "The 5 Star King" connects with a boot to the midsection, followed by a chop to the chest. Kyle tries to escape by walking to the other corner but is hit with another chop. Hale lifts O'Reilly and hits a sidewalk slam for a two count. Hale tries to slow down the match with a side headlock but the crowd rally around Kyle O'Reilly, giving him the momentum, he needs to get enough shots to the midsection and escape.

O'Reilly runs the ropes again but Hale hits a low dropkick, taking "The Violent Artist" out by the knee. O'Reilly tries to get to his feet using the ropes but Hale, identifying a weak spot, kicks the back of the knee and tries to whip O'Reilly across the ring but the move is reversed! O'Reilly instead outpowers Hale to throw him into the turnbuckle, but Hale tries to backflip out of danger....O'REILLY DUCKS BEHIND
AND KICKS HALE RIGHT IN THE GUT! STRIKE ACROSS THE FACE AND A HIGH KNEE JUST FOR GOOD MEASURE! Hale is dazed so "The Martial Artist" throws another kick, this time to the chest, and sweeps Hale's feet to finally ground him.

Hale tries to get to the corner but O'Reilly meets him there and begins to stomp mudholes into him, causing Ayres to initiate another count, to which O'Reilly stops before he can reach five. O'Reilly lifts Hale back to his feet: one knee to the midsection...a second knee to the midsection! Throwing him into the ropes, KOR nails a third knee!

Awaiting his opponent to get to his feet, Kyle hits a hard running lariat and makes the cover...

ONE...

TWO...

KICK-OUT!

O'Reilly looks shocked and sits Hale up, this time he runs the ropes and delivers a kick to the face. Again, he goes for a cover...

ONE...

TWO...

...

ANOTHER KICK-OUT!

How is Hale staying in this!? There's barely any time to focus, Kyle whips Hale up and hits a big-time
BRAINBUSTER! Joseph urges him to make the cover but Kyle instead locks in a CROSS-ARM BREAKER! Hale almost immediately taps his time as the bell rings and the crowd erupts into cheers.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"Your winner, via submission. KYLE.O.REILLY!"

Kyle struggles back up to his feet, selling the attack to the knee from earlier in the match as his hand is raised in victory. The referee checks on Asher Hale, who writes in pain on the mat. O'Reilly looks to the entrance, almost anticipating what is going to happen next but rather than waiting, he asks for the microphone and directs his focus at the entrance ramp.

KYLE O'REILLY
"Come on Adam, I know you're back there..." he looks around the live crowd. "...or maybe you're out here? Wherever you are, I know you're watching and I'm sick and tired of it. I'm sick and tired of never being able to have anything for myself, an NXT title shot, a victory, without you standing behind my back and trying to take the credit for it or stealing it away from me. You ruined our friendship, you continue to ruin my friendships, friendships that started when you weren't even on the pecking order. You ruined my chance at becoming NXT Champion, so why don't you come out here and we'll settle what we started last week? Because I don't play mind games, Adam if you have something to say. MEET ME IN THIS RING!"

O'Reilly pants heavily, lowering the microphone from himself, the sweat dripping off of him. The crowd waits expectantly when...

Almost immediately the fans begin to boo when they see the decorated Adam Cole make his way out from backstage. Cole takes a few paces down the entrance ramp but doesn't meet his former friend in the ring as requested. Cole asks for a microphone of his own to respond to KOR's demands.

ADAM COLE

"Kyle, Kyle, Kyle! Congratulations on your victory." he feigns applause. "Now before you start getting an ego, I thought I best make one thing clear: Adam Cole isn't here because you ordered him to be, Adam Cole is here to set the record straight. You talk about all these opportunities I've ruined, when wasn't I the one that brought you and Bobby here all those years ago? You talk about a pecking order when in all our years of knowing each other, however far down I was, you were always a few rungs behind me and now you dare to make me the villain of this narrative? You bled me dry. You couldn't be happy just being the tag guy, could you? You had to try and step on my toes. All these weeks, I've had people over Twitter asking me why I killed the Undisputed Era, but the blood of the UE is on your hands Kyle!" he points, his tone becoming more pointed. "You think that I want to claim your successes as mine because you know it's true, without me there would be no Undisputed Era and without that, no one would know your name. So, excuse me if I feel a little bit saddened, a little bit hurt by your betrayal Kyle. What happened last week with Bobby, was petty, I admit. I'm man enough to hold my hands up to that but at least it opened his eyes up to the fact that all this time, he had been teaming up with an ungrateful little snake."

Kyle looks around the crowd for validation. He wipes his face and chortles at being called a snake by perhaps the biggest serpent in NXT.

KYLE O'REILLY
"Are you done?" The crowd popped. "Adam, I don't care if you think I'm a snake or a shark or a koala bear. Everything you said just there, was nothing more than 'Adam Cole BS...BAY-BAY!'. For years now, we've all had to stand back and listen to you rationalize everything to make yourself sound like you're one step ahead of the rest of us. I didn't step on your toes Adam, I overtook you and I'm happy to admit that you've had a good run, you have a career that many in NXT will never get a chance to replicate but I won't be one of those guys. Bobby said it last week, it's time to prove who the better man is once and for all. If you're not going to step in this ring and face me like a man...I guess I'll just have to come to you!"

Kyle throws the microphone on the floor and begins to make his way out of the ring. It would appear that this time, Adam is ready to ring the right but...

The fans in attendance cheer to see the departing NXT General Manager, William Regal. Regal is already armed with a microphone and begins to approach O'Reilly and Cole, who have not yet laid a finger on each other, though the Brit cautiously stands between them.

WILLIAM REGAL
"Didn't we go through this already last week? Aren't the two of you sick to the back teeth of all of this by now? Because I certainly am. Gentlemen, I wish we could've done this under calmer circumstances but as you know, my time in NXT is drawing to a close and while I was far from entertained by last week's display, it would seem that I was not the only one." he pauses. "My successor, who shall remain anonymous for now, contacted me after NXT went off the air last week, and let's just say this person likes things to be wrapped up neatly. I gave you both a chance at each other at Takeover, but give this carry-on keeps happening each week, my hands are tied. The new General Manager of NXT has asked me to book you both in a match at NXT: End of the Line...."

Kyle looks pleased with the announcement while the crowd cheer. Cole's reaction doesn't indicate whether he's happy with the news or not, but Regal has more to say.

Cole-and-O-Reilly-Segment.png

WILLIAM REGAL
"But unfortunately, gentlemen, given that you can't seem to co-exist, the new General Manager wants to do something about it. Now, I of course have the power until End of the Line to make changes to the booking of the event, but it would be unprofessional of me to ignore the suggestions of my successor. It is therefore up to me to propose to you at NXT: End of the Line - Adam Cole versus Kyle O'Reilly in an "I QUIT MATCH!"

Once again, the crowd gives a cheer. "The Violent Artist" nods in confidence that he has what it takes to defeat his former stablemate. Cole's face still gives nothing away, but again, Regal has more to say.

WILLIAM REGAL
"...and while it pains me to say it because I believe that you are both incredibly gifted at what you do. However, the new General Manager wants to create a positive atmosphere, therefore the rules of the match would dictate that whoever quits during the match, would have their contact TERMINATED with immediate effect.

VIC JOSEPH
"Did he just say terminated!?"

WADE BARRETT
"A masterstroke by our new General Manager, whoever they may be, this is a genius move!"

VIC JOSEPH
"The stakes have never been higher, but will they accept?

Meanwhile, Regal continues...

WILLIAM REGAL
"Now I know all too well that big career moves aren't something you can just make without careful thought, so I'm going to give both of you gentlemen a week. There WILL be a match at NXT: End of the Line between the two of you, but whether you feel you have what it takes to gamble your career is up to...."

Before Mr. Regal can even finish his sentence, O'Reilly lifts the microphone and declares.

KYLE O'REILLY
"I ACCEPT"

There's a major pop for Kyle. Regal slowly turns his head to the right at one Adam Cole.

WILLIAM REGAL
"Very well. Mr. Cole, would you like to respond now, or do you need more time?"

All eyes are on Adam Cole, the anticipation is almost too much. Slowly, Cole raises his microphone.

ADAM COLE
"I'll be in touch."

The hissing of the microphone being thrown on the floor blares across the Capitol Performance Center for a moment, but it is soon drowned out by the booing of the crowd. Cole's music plays him out, while Regal looks to O'Reilly, who watches his enemy depart. It now seems that William Regal may not be the only man walking out of NXT: End of the Line unemployed
.

Returning from commercial, commentary gives us a replay of William Regal announcing Adam Cole vs. Kyle O'Reilly for NXT: End of the Line, followed by the proposed stipulation (as per the impending NXT General Manager) that both men put their careers on the line to end the grudge once and for all. We then turn backstage, where McKenzie Mitchell is standing by with Zoey Stark and Sarray.

MCKENZIE MITCHELL
"What a proposition we heard before the break but joining me now is Zoey Stark and Sarray. Sarray, I understand you had requested a match tonight with Toni Storm that went unanswered. What do you have to say?"

SARRAY
"Toni Storm, I am confused. You attack Zoey and me, but you don't answer?"

ZOEY STARK
"You seem to think that we're good enough to sneak attack but not important enough to face in the ring. I don't know what's gotten into you, Toni. I don't care what's gotten into you. Maybe you thought you'd come into NXT and the division would bow to you, but I have news - since you've been overseas, the division has stepped up. Sarray and I, we're just two examples of..."

There's some commotion in the interview pit, the camera turns to see Franky Monet, with Aliyah and Jessi Kamea in tow. Robert Stone is also in the back holding Monet's beloved pooch, Presley, in a dog carrier.

FRANKY MONET
"Ladies, I'm sorry to interrupt but NEWSFLASH: Toni isn't listening. The only reason I'm listening is that I'm standing here wondering why on earth McKenzie Mitchell would ask you for an interview and not us!"

Aliyah and Jessi Kamea fold their arms like petulant children, while Robert Stone fights for TV time.

ZOEY STARK
"Franky, this is none of your business!"

Zoey turns back to Sarray and McKenzie, but Frankie firmly places her hand on her shoulder.

FRANKY MONET
"When you're on my time, it is my business. Zoey, I wouldn't expect you to know star quality when you see it but the two of you moaning about Toni Storm when you're in the presence of "The Vision" - quite frankly it's insulting."

Stark looks to Sarray, letting her know she can handle the situation.

ZOEY STARK
"Funny, all I've seen is you and your lapdogs lounging around the place."

"Lounging!?" Kamea and Aliyah can be heard saying in a fluster. Stone tries to calm them down but all it takes is for Mont to raise her hand to make them stop.

FRANKY MONET
"I don't know what you think you saw but if you want me to remind you of what The Brand can do..."

Stone shuffles forward for a moment, just enough to be heard on the mic.

ROBERT STONE
"That's 'The Robert Stone Brand'."

Franky turns to Stone, who immediately flinches, holding the dog carrier up to protect him. Monet silently turns back around to face Sarray and Stark.

FRANKY MONET

"As I was saying if you want to be reminded of what The Brand can do...."

Monet is interrupted a second time as Sarray boldly takes a step forward.

SARRAY
"If Toni won't fight me. Maybe you will"?

Franky pauses for a moment. Stark raises an eyebrow, impressed by Sarray's fearlessness. McKenzie leans the microphone in further, anticipating a response but is instead met with a cackle. Picking up on the vibe, The Robert Stone Brand members all begin joining in, laughing and dismissing Sarray's request.

FRANKY MONET
"Aww, honey...." she notices that "The Warrior of the Sun" isn't joking. "Oh, you're being serious!? Oh that's so flattering that you want to face me, but I don't think that you're quite in my league." she looks to Zoey. "Either of you. However, as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, if you want to be reminded of what we can do - Jessi will take Toni's place tonight."

JESSI KAMEA
"I...will?"

Jessi looks over to Robert Stone, hoping he can find some sort of clause to get her out of this. However, if the power shift wasn't apparent before, it certainly was now as he simply shrugs. Aliyah meanwhile looks slightly relieved as she tries to support her tag team partner.

FRANKY MONET
"You will. Now come along, we've got to go and get ready. We'll see you out there ladies!"

Franky snaps her fingers, leading The Robert Stone brand away. Sarray looks hopeful, looking to assert herself as a legitimate threat in the women's division.

We see a clip from last week's 205 Live, the start of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship Open Challenge. Commentary put over Alex Shelley's efforts as he battled his training partner in a close-fought affair. The champion, Kushida, is now backstage with William Regal.

WILLIAM REGAL
"In all the chaos, I must say, it's a refreshing change to have a low-maintenance champion on the roster."

Kushida smiles and nods, appreciating the compliment.

WILLIAM REGAL

"Now I know you're dubious about why you're here. I've been upfront with you about my expectations for this open challenge and while traditionally, you're not meant to know your opponent ahead of the match. Well, I've had my arm twisted as your opponent is quite keen to meet you. He should be here any moment n-"

As if by magic, Regal is interrupted by a knock on the door. "The Time Splitter" looks intrigued as Regal beckons the mystery opponent in. The camera pans around to show...

....

...NXT UK standout and former NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Jordan Devlin.

JORDAN DEVLIN

"Kushida. I believe you've got something of mine."

Devlin holds his hand out. Although he's sceptical at first, the champion eventually shakes it before making a brisk exit. Devlin chuckles to himself and looks over to Mr. Regal.

JORDAN DEVLIN
"Somethin' I said?"

Regal looks irked by the arrogance of "The Irish Ace". Regardless, this week's Cruiserweight Championship Open Challenge found itself answered early this week and the WWE Universe would have to tune in this week to see who was on their way to The End of The Line as champion.

Kushida-vs-Jordan-Devlin.png

Back at ringside, Alicia Taylor stands by ready to announce this rather impromptu match. Beth Phoenix explains that the challenge was made by Sarray to Toni Storm, who ignored the request and has now been passed over, as we just saw, from Franky Monet to Jessi Kamea.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following match is scheduled for one fall, introducing to the ring first, accompanied by The Robert Stone brand, from Austin, Texas...JESSI KAMEA!"

Despite her initial doubts, it seems that Franky Monet and co have been able to rally Jessi up enough to approach this match with confidence. Kamea steps into the ring. Vic Joseph points out that Franky Money is not at ringside with Robert Stone and Aliyah for this match, despite volunteering Kamea to take part in the match. Barrett says that Franky has already sent a Tweet out to say that she had a 'prior commitment' to attend to.

The sun begins to rise, which can only mean an appearance from NXT's newest female Superstar. Vic mentions that the undefeated Sarray has been impressive in her short time in the black and gold brand. Beth explains how appearances can be deceptive, while Sarray may appear to be sweet and mild-mannered, once she's in the ring, she is a spark plug with an array of impressive strikes. The crowd cheer as the lights come back on, and Sarray smiles and waves to the crowd.

ALICIA TAYLOR

"Introducing her opponent, from Tokyo, Japan, she is "THE WARRIOR OF THE SUN".....SARRAY!"

Sarray works the crowd, stepping up to the apron and bowing before the ropes. Jessi Kamea remains seated on the top rope, rolling her eyes at the pint-sized competitor.

Sarray-vs-Jessi-Kamea.png

SARRAY vs. JESSI KAMEA w/ THE ROBERT STONE BRAND

Kamea steps down from the turnbuckle and meets Sarray, who offers a handshake but Kamea laughs it off. Commentary put over the height difference, with Kamea towering over the 5'2 "Warrior of the Sun" but Beth says it's not the size of the boat but the motion in the ocean as the bell rings.

Vic Joseph puts over the bad blood between these two stars after a bonus match that took place at NXT Takeover: In Your House that saw Sarray and Starks defeat Aliyah and Jessi in tag team action. Kamea begins to mock Sarray's gesture of a handshake but is soon left regretting her actions when Sarray strikes her with a forearm. "The Warrior of the Sun" whips Kamea into the ropes, but she comes back with a hair drag to take the Tokyo native down. Kamea begins to apply pressure on Sarray's throat, blatantly choking her out on the mat while the referee initiates the five count. Kamea throws her hands up and innocently protests that she wasn't doing anything while Robert Stone attempts to warn her of Sarray, who has got back to her feet...DROPKICK! Followed by a second.....followed by a third!

The crowd is warming up to this one following a trifecta of dropkicks, Sarray attempts to climb the ropes but Robert Stone and Aliyah begin to taunt her from the apron. Jessi makes her way back to her feet and knocks Sarray onto the apron, she then stands on the second rope and grabs the young superstar to hit an ELEVATED SUPLEX (not quite a superplex, not quite your standard suplex).

Aliyah and Stone excitedly call for the cover, to which the Texan obliges...

ONE...

TWO...

NO!

Jessi looks disheartened before the cameras cut to Franky Monet backstage, holding Presley and clapping excitedly while Beth comments that her 'prior commitments' must've fallen through. Kamea goes for a
SPRINGBOARD ELBOW...BUT MISSES AS SARRAY ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY! Sarray is on her feet as she hits an arm drag. Sarray fires up looking for a shining wizard, but Jessi moves out of the way and finds salvation in the corner. Undeterred, Sarray looks for a flying forearm into the corner, but Aliyah once again proves there's power in numbers as she hops up onto the apron and drags Jessi to safety.

Stone and Aliyah high-five each other until the crowd begins to stir to see Zoey Stark march out to the ring. The two exchange looks as Zoey chases Aliyah around the ring. "The Powerbroker" Robert Stone then steps into the way of Zoey, who looks around the crowd and decks him with a right hand. Aliyah's eyes widen with fear as she looks at her fallen manager.

Jessi meanwhile, distracted by what's been happening fails to capitalize with a Senton as Sarray telegraphs the move and moves out of the way, backsliding Kamea...

ONE...

TWO...

KICKOUT!

On the outside, Aliyah finds the same spot that Killian Dain went crashing through earlier and makes her escape, with Starks running after her. In the ring, both women are back on their feet. Kamea takes a run at Sarray but she overshoots her shot and falls into the ropes.....DROPKICK TO KAMEA WHO IS CAUGHT IN THE ROPES! "The Warrior of the Sun" looking to strike now while the iron is hot as she lifts her opponent into a beautiful Perfect-Plex.

ONE...

TWO...

THREE!

"RING THE BELL!"

The crowd cheer while Sarray gets back to her feet, her arm raised in victory. Robert Stone holds his nose, getting back to his feet and reacting badly to the referee's decision.

ALICIA TAYLOR

"Here is your winner by pinfall...."THE WARRIOR OF THE SUN".....SARRAY!"

Backstage we see Franky Monet, who is also far from happy over the outcome, she covers Presley's eyes and storms off huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf. Sarray looks to the cameras and points, Vic Joseph says that whether Toni is taking her seriously or not, Sarray will not stop until she gets her match. As we move on, we are told that coming up next, following last week's Million Dollar Celebration, LA Knight will be in action!

We see a video package highlighting the string of bad luck faced by Tegan Nox before making a triumphant return last week, where she put both Dakota Kai and Raquel González on notice. Nox is in an undisclosed location, which resembles a warehouse, filled with an eerie amount of smoke.

Tegan-Nox-Segment.png

TEGAN NOX
"Last week I said everything I've been wanting to say for the past NINE months. I've had to sit at home and watch the disrespect shown by Dakota Kai - someone who I used to call a friend. I've always been raised to speak my mind and doing that last week felt GREAT! But I'm not going to wait around for my next opportunity, I'm going to make it happen for myself. If I'm going to be the NXT Women's Champion, I need to go straight to source - so I thought, why not kill two birds with one stone?" Nox smiles. "So next week, Dakota, it won't be the attention I'll be taking away from you, it'll be the victory."

"The Girl with the Shiniest Wizard" goes to depart but it would appear she has more to add. Stopping abruptly, she holds up her index finger and turns back to the camera.

TEGAN NOX
"One more thing, I forgot to mention. Just so you know, I'm serious about beating you too, Raquel, it'll be a tag team match, and my tag team partner...."

Descending from the smoke in the background, "The Blackheart Brawler" steps forward. Shotzi, who usually appears to be in high spirits looks a lot more focused and war-torn following last week's brutal Falls Count Anywhere match.

SHOTZI
"Surprise [CENSORED]!"

It's time for our penultimate match of the evening, "Rollin' Deep" plays across the arena, there's a mixed reaction, with some of the fans enjoying the arrogance and 'banter' of the Million Dollar Champion, while some were left appalled at his behavior. Commentary talks about how he disrespected Hall of Famer, Ted DiBiase, the same man who originated the title he's currently wearing. Barrett says that DiBiase put the title up for grabs and everything Knight is doing is fair game

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following match is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, already in the ring from Orlando Florida...DEMETRI JACKSON!"

Surprisingly, the crowd seems to respond to Jackson as he poses in the ring. Knight climbs into the ring and looks down his shades at his opponent.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"And his opponent, please welcome the Million Dollar Champion. L-A KNIGHT!"

Alicia goes to leave the ring but before she can step through the ropes, Knight stops her and asks for the microphone. Knight doesn't seem keen on starting the match just yet. Instead, he approaches Demetri Jackson before taking a look around the crowd.

LA KNIGHT
"Alright, you can cut my music. Cut it off. If you can hear over all these cheers." ironically, the crowd doesn't seem to be cheering that much. "Last week, we celebrated history together, the dawning of a true and REAL CHAMPION. Seriously, I came out here and told all the other champions to step up, and now Kushida is throwing open challenges, here, there, and everywhere and MSK are just begging to defend the titles. It's even gotten to the point where that oaf Bronson Reed is looking to double up on his collection! Well, no matter how hard all the others try, they will never reach the heights that I've already set for this." he holds up the Million Dollar Championship. "But as a humanitarian, I'm just pleased that I've encouraged the guys in the back to act like champions." Knight pauses. "but I'm about to go one step forward. I'm not just going to look at win-loss records or whoever was mean to me on social media in the last week. I'm a REAL CHAMPION and I'm here to make wishes come true." he turns his attention back to Demetri Jackson.
"What's your name, son?"

Knight points the microphone to Demetri Jackson, who clears his throat and begins to speak.

DEMETRI JACKSON
"My na..."

Knight swiftly takes the microphone back and walks away.

LA KNIGHT
"It doesn't matter what your name is." there's a mixed reaction, some lamenting the display of disrespect while others enjoyed the nod to The Rock. "I can tell from your tatty boots and the cheap tights that you've had a rough start in life, you probably have wrestled a handful of matches in your career and you're looking for your big break. Well, buddy, I'm here to make your dreams come true tonight. I get that your following us has probably already gone up tenfold since I addressed you but that's not enough for me, I'm going that one step further...I'm going to give you a TITLE MATCH! How does that sound?"

Although he was somewhat disheartened by being dismissed and insulted by Knight, Jackson can't help but smile and regain his excitement with this huge announcement.

LA KNIGHT
"Yeah? You accept!? Good!"

Knight and Jackson are all smiles, both men looking to the crowd and building the momentum when KNIGHT CRACKS JACKSON OVER THE HEAD WITH THE MICROPHONE! Knight demands that the referee calls for the bell to start the match.

LA-Knight-vs-Demetri-Jackson.png

LA KNIGHT vs. DEMETRI JACKSON | MILLION DOLLAR CHAMPIONSHIP

Vic Joseph and Beth Phoenix are disgusted at the actions of the Million Dollar Champion. Knight makes a cover.

ONE...

TWO...

Knight lifts the shoulder and yells "he's still got a chance!", trying to act like this championship bout is a fair fight. Knight drags Jackson to his feet and throws him in the corner, repeating stomping on him until he falls to the mat. Having his fun now, Knight steps outside to the apron, sizing Jackson up as his head rests against the second rope.....RUNNING KNEE STRIKE! If there were any LA Knight fans in the building before, there definitely weren't now after this sickening display.

The Million Dollar Champion waits for Jackson to get to his feet and comes off the ropes with the BATTERING RAM! Joseph calls for Knight to end this one. He makes the cover...

ONE...

TWO...

But once again, Knight lifts the shoulder to keep the match going. Getting back to his feet, Knight holds his hand to his ear as the boos begin to pour in, he begins to appease the crowd and he lifts Jackson back to his feet, shaking his hand and praising his performance. Knight stands back and puts both hands behind their back, telling Jackson that he'll give him a strike for free. Jackson doesn't seem to be in the right frame of mind at all but he takes his chance...KNIGHT DUCKS AND HITS A JUMPING NECK BREAKER!

ONE...

TWO...

THREE!

Now
it's over. The fans continue to boo while Knight smiles for the cameras before being reunited with his beloved title.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"Here is your winner and still the Million Dollar Champion, L-A KNIGHT!"

Knight rolls out of the ring and heads to the back, he turns and holds up the Million Dollar title while Barrett applauses him on not only making Demetri Jackson's dreams come true but decisively defending the title. Beth is offended by her broadcast colleagues' judgment, with Vic trying to move the show along to avoid tensions simmering over.

Vic Joseph mentions last week Hit Row was triumphant in their NXT trios debut, while Legado del Fantasma faced the bitter taste of defeat over two bouts on 205 Live. Joseph says that following tensions between the two stables over the past week, both Hit Row and Legado del Fantasma had something to say.

Hit-Row-segment.png

ISAIAH SCOTT
"Legado del Fantasma...."

"Swerve" speaks in a serious tone, while his Hit Row stablemates are a bit more jovial as they stand behind him. Top Dolla in particular seems especially amused.

ISAIAH SCOTT
"That was really quite...something...last week."

There are back-to-back clips of Santos Escobar being rolled up with the O'Connor roll by Ari Sterling on 205 Live, while Ikemen Jiro hits an enzuigiri on Raul Mendoza to score a victory for himself and August Grey.

ISAIAH SCOTT
"If that's how you guys handle business in the ring, then I guess we have nothing to worry about because in case you missed it, we handled ours."

In stark contrast, a clip shows the double-team move between Scott and Adonis that saw them claim their first trios win against Tyler Rust and Ever-Rise.

TOP DOLLA

"Escobar, it seems you and your boys got your asses handed to you but if you still think you got the kahunas to go toe to toe with the freshest, the realest and the baddest team in the whole of NXT - come find us."

Ashante steps forward, tapping Scott on the shoulder with a tidbit of gossip to share.

ASHANTE ADONIS

"A little birdie told me old "El Jefe" has asked for another match this week."

Scott's eyebrows raise in surprise.

ISAIAH SCOTT
"Oh well is that so?" he turns back to the camera. "Well I know you're not watching our tapes, Escobar, but if you're lucky we might just watch yours. May the odds be in your favor"

"Swerve" bows his head while B-Fab crosses her fingers for Escobar. Top Dolla rubs his hands together, still anticipating a showdown with LDF. The members of Hit Row pose as the camera fades to black. We immediately jump cut to another scene backstage where a more somber Santos Escobar stands alongside Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde.

LDF-Promo.png

SANTOS ESCOBAR

"You want to disrespect me?" as the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion speaks, his agitation begins to mount. "NO ONE DIRESPECTS SANTOS ESCOBAR! NO ONE DISRESPECTS LEGADO DEL FANTASMA! Do you want to compare resumés? I am a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion. I am a legend in Mexican Wrestling, Joaquin and Raul are two of the most decorated wrestlers in tag team wrestling. Who the hell are you?"

Escobar looks away from the camera and takes a few paces back. Wilde looks to the camera, seizing his opportunity to have a few words.

JOAQUIN WILDE
"Hit Row, you may not know it but you crossed a line last week. Legado del Fantasma is not here to be the 'realist' or the 'freshest'" he uses air quotes to belittle the comments made by Top Dolla. "we're just focused on being the GREATEST."

Wilde smiles confidently, looking over to Mendoza, who takes the reigns. Meanwhile, Escobar continues to try and calm himself down in the background.

RAUL MENDOZA
"You have picked a fight with the wrong men - y ahora es el momento de pagar el precio! Legado Del Fa..."

Unlike his tag team partner, Mendoza isn't so lucky in finishing his trail of thought. A furious Santos Escobar comes bounding forward, pushing the two men out of the way, seething with rage.

SANTOS ESCOBAR
"No! Shut it off." Escobar barges his way through, clearly frustrated and not looking to waste his breath on Hit Row. "We're not doing this! No les doy mas tiempo." Escobar steps up to the camera. "You stick your nose where it doesn't belong this week and I PROMISE you'll regret it. Hemos terminado. Vamos!"

The camera hastily cuts off. Commentary then advertises this week's 205 Live matches when Santos Escobar looks to redeem himself when he takes on the former 205 Live General Manager, Drake Maverick.

We then get a look at next week's line-up, so far:
  • Adam Cole and Cameron Grimes will return to the ring to face each other and the question is, will Cole agree to put his career on the line in an I Quit Match at NXT: End of The Line?

  • As confirmed earlier tonight, the NXT Tag Team Champions, MSK, will face Imperium in a non-title match.

  • Following a long nine months on the shelf, Tegan Nox will be back in the ring, tagging with Shotzi to take on Dakota Kai and the NXT Women's Champion, Raquel González.

Heading backstage, a split-screen shows Johnny Gargano giving Austin Theory a pep talk while on the other side Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan confidently pace the halls. The main event is NEXT.

It is time for your main event of the evening. Tensions between the four men in this match have reached boiling point with Gargano and Dunne's rivalry now bringing in the cavalry in the form of Oney Lorcan and Austin Theory. We have already seen Lorcan in action as "The Bruiserweight" tested his former Kings of NXT ally to make sure he was tough enough to work alongside him in taking down The Way.

ALICIA TAYLOR
"The following tag team match is your main event of the evening, and it is set for one fall. Introducing to the ring first at a combined weight of 395 pounds...from Boston, Massachusetts...ONEY LORCAN and from Birmingham, England...PETE DUNNE!"

The two men stand at the top of the entrance ramp before pausing. Dunne then poses, while Lorcan raises his hand and the two men proceed to make their way to the squared circle. There are boos from the crowd, but the former United Kingdom Champion could care less, his mind focused on one thing - victory.

"Coming Back For You" begins to play, generating a positive-to-mixed reception, fans still thawing out on Johnny Gargano. Although "Johnny Wrestling" has seemingly turned over a new leaf, the last few months of stroking his ego had seen his stock go down with the crowd. Regardless, if there was one thing that the fans could depend on Johnny for, it was putting on a show. Despite the earlier attack of Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae at the hands of Xia Li, Theory and Gargano looked laser-focused on teaching Dunne and Lorcan 'The Way'.

Gargano and Theory enter the ring and hold their palms together in a 'still high-five'. Both men smile, much to the irritation of "The Street Tough Bostonian" and "The Bruiserweight".

The-Way-vs-Pete-Dunne-Oney-Lorcan.png

THE WAY [AUSTIN THEORY & JOHNNY GARGANO] vs. ONEY LORCAN & PETE DUNNE

Johnny Gargano and Oney Lorcan start things up, Lorcan goes to throw a forearm but "Johnny Wrestling" catches it and throws one back. Lorcan immediately retaliates with the knee and gets behind Gargano for a waist lock. Johnny manages to catch Oney with an elbow and pushes Oney into the ropes, Gargano follows and greets the Bostonian with a head-scissor takedown. Lorcan stumbles up to his feet and is met with a dropkick while Dunne barks orders from the apron. "The Bruiserweight" demands the tag, which Gargano allows, embracing the challenge of the young Brit.

Dunne comes storming into the ring and is pulled into an arm drag, he attempts a second but Dunne releases the hold, and "The Whole Shebang" falls to the mat. Dunne hits a lariat and follows up with a shoulder block. Dunne then slowly grabs the hands of Gargano, looking to manipulate the joints, but Gargano lifts the legs and pulls Dunne into a pinning predicament...

ONE...

TWO...

NO!

Johnny locks in a wristlock, forcing Dunne into his corner and tagging in Austin Theory. The rising star poses on the apron while the crowd pop, but this gives Dunne the chance to chop Gargano to release the hold and throw him out of the ring. The former UK Champion grabs Theory and brings him into the ring with a thud! Theory comes over the ropes landing on his back, with Dunne delivering a kick to the small of the back for good measure. Lorcan holds his hand up as a tag is made, both men have wristlocks applied to Theory now...STEREO CHOPS! Dunne exits the ring while the "Star Destroyer" hits another chop to Theory in the corner. A second chop echoes across the Capitol Performance Center before Lorcan tags back out to Dunne. Barrett commends the quick tags and keeps Theory isolated in the corner. Gargano urges Theory to keep his head in the match as he makes his way back up to the apron.

Dunne enters the ring and immediately begins to work Theory's fingers, holding his wrist before the crowd before SNAPPING the fingers. Gargano cringes at ringside but there's no way of him getting into the match at this point. Dunne then places Theory's hand on the mat and stomps on his fingers, leaving his opponent screaming in pain. Theory begins to crawl to his corner but Dunne cuts him off, standing on the fingers yet again and performing another stomp. Rolling Theory onto his front, Dunne looks up to Gargano as he drives the knee into the hand of Austin Theory. The referee checks on young Austin, who remains committed to fighting the good fight.

Beth respects Theory's dedication but doubts how much longer he can be a viable part of the match with the damage being done to the hand. Dunne scoops him back up for a suplex and tags back out to Oney Lorcan. "The Street Tough Bostonian" leaps into action as he stalks his prey. Dunne tells Lorcan to keep Theory ground but Lorcan is winding his arm up and comes bounding towards the former Evolve standout with a running European Uppercut...AUSTIN THEORY MINDS OUT THE WAY AS LORCAN FINDS HIMSELF IN THE CORNER! CLOTHESLINE BY THEORY! However, we see the effects of the attack on the fingers taking its toll, Theory tries to shake off the pain as he jumps to the apron and throws Lorcan down to the mat. Theory slingshots into a STOMP on the chest of Lorcan, with Dunne looking livid on the outside. Gargano wills his protégé on for the tag...will he make it? Lorcan tries to reach for Theory's leg...BUT THEORY FINALLY MAKES THE TAG!

The Way looks to regain control now, both men throwing Lorcan into the ropes (not noticing Dunne make the tag). Double shoulder block, Theory, and Gargano put their palms together and hit elbow drops in unison! Theory goes to leave the ring when "The Bruiserweight" storms in and throws him to the outside. Realizing what's happened, Gargano gets back to his feet but Dunne kicks him to the back of the leg to ground him. Dunne rolls Johnny onto his front, hyperextending the arm and hammering on the ribs of his opponent. Dunne batters the ribs before dropping the knee in his target area. Finally, Dunne twists Gargano's arm and delivers a kick to the elbow.

Pete Dunne throws Gargano into the corner and takes a run-up but "Johnny Wrestling" elevates himself up and lands behind Pete Dunne...DROPKICK! Dunne immediately rolls out of the ring, with Lorcan looking to attack but Johnny slides through Lorcan's legs to the outside and pulls him off the apron onto the floor. However, Johnny's taken his eyes off the ball for too long now...CLOTHESLINE as Dunne folds Gargano in half on the outside. Dunne re-enters the ring as Austin Theory tries his luck, looking to defend his tag team partner...SUPERKICK TO THEORY! He then locks in the waist lock for a SNAP RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX.

"YxB" tags Lorcan, the two men then roll to the outside, where they lift Gargano and slam him into the apron (causing Joseph to remind us that this is the hardest part of the entire ring). Barrett commends Lorcan and Dunne for working so well with each other as we see Gargano in pain on the outside and Theory rolling back to his corner, still favoring his hand.

Dunne and Lorcan roll Gargano into the ring, the Englishman locks in a surfboard while Lorcan begins to repeatedly chop Gargano. The referee warns Dunne to get out of the ring as Lorcan goes for the DDT....but Gargano manages to escape the move. Gargano gives Lorcan a chop of his own and throws Lorcan through the ropes.....he looks around the ring trying to muster the energy.....GARGANO DIVES THROUGH THE ROPES TO TACKLE LORCAN DOWN! Dunne drops down off the apron but Gargano ducks under the incoming lariat attempt and whips him into the steel post!

Gargano throws Lorcan back into the ring, waiting for him to get back to his feet...DISCUS LARIAT! Lorcan tries to crawl to the corner but Gargano drags him back. However, Dunne hops back up to his corner and begins to talk trash at the NXT Grand Slam Champion. The veteran takes the bait as Lorcan runs Gargano face-first into the turnbuckle...TAG! DUNNE COMES IN AND HITS ANOTHER RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX!

The fans cannot get enough of the action. Austin Theory dubiously offers his hand for the tag as Dunne goes for another STOMP.....Gargano moves his hand and arm drags Dunne over...KICK TO THE HEAD BY GARGANO. Johnny rushes to the apron and waits for Dunne to get back to his feet...SPEAR THROUGH THE SECOND ROPE! Gargano makes only the second cover of the match.

ONE...

TWO...

DUNNE GETS THE SHOULDER UP!

An exhausted Johnny Gargano gets to his feet, Theory asks for the tag as Gargano falls backward and the tag is made. Theory comes in hot as the crowd cheers him on, he clobbers Dunne with a forearm but shakes his hand having used the seemingly injured hand. Dunne retorts with a step-up enzuigiri...Lorcan suddenly springs into the ring and hits a RUNNING EUROPEAN UPPERCUT! Gargano tiredly gets back into the ring and throws Lorcan to the outside...A SECOND DIVE THROUGH THE ROPES but this time neither of them is in a hurry to get back up. Meanwhile back in the ring, Theory and Dunne are battling in the center of the ring, Theory catches Dunne with an arm-hold clothesline. Gargano boots Dunne in the gut....HE LIFTS HIM UP...DOES HE HAVE THE STRENGTH!? POWERBOMB CONNECTS!

ONE...

TWO...

THREE!...

NO!

THAT WAS A CLOSE CALL!

Austin Theory rallies the crowd, the kid is on a roll as he tells Dunne to get up looking for a rolling thunder blockbuster but Dunne pulls referee, Aja Smith, in front of him in a callous move. Smith turns around and starts to reprimand Dunne, allowing Lorcan to pull out a pipe from the outside (which commentary deduces must've previously been planted by the duo). Lorcan goes for the forearm but Theory catches it, he then reveals the pipe from behind his back and strikes the already injured hand of Austin Theory! Lorcan drops down and disposes of the pipe as Dunne immediately hits THE BITTER END!

Gargano attempts to get back into the ring but is pulled back by Lorcan while Pete Dunne makes the cover.

ONE...

Lorcan tries to strike but Gargano catches him with a superkick...

TWO...

With no time to spare, Gargano rushes into the ring to break the count....is he too late?

THREE!...

He is! Gargano looks devastated as Barrett says he can kiss his NXT Tag Team Championship dreams goodbye. Vic Joseph says that the actions of Lorcan and Dunne have been despicable.

ALICIA TAYLOR

"The winners of the match by pinfall...

Dunne gets to his feet and steps on the injured hand as he smiles at Gargano, immediately inciting a brawl between the two. Dunne manages to get a grip on Gargano and calls Lorcan back into the ring. Lorcan re-enters the ring, his nose appears to be bleeding, but the focus is drawn to the pipe in his hand.

VIC JOSEPH
"He's got the pipe! Johnny get out of there!"

Lorcan goes to strike, but immediately drops the pipe as from the other side of the ring slithers a familiar face...

BETH PHOENIX
"Is that who I think it is!?"

WADE BARRETT
"For the love of God, I hope it isn't!"

DEXTER LUMIS!

...

The surprise appearance of "The Stimulus" causes Lorcan to freeze. Dunne catches on and turns around, going nose to nose with Lumis as Gargano drops to the mat. It looks like all hell is going to break loose when Dunne immediately rolls out of the ring. Lumis then look to Lorcan, who also makes a hasty escape. The duo begins to make a getaway to a chorus of boos while medics rush out to tend to Theory, who is still cradling his hand. Gargano comes face to face with Lumis once again - Beth reminds us of how Lumis previously saved Indi Hartwell following an eight-person tag match and has now saved the male members of The Way. Lumis slowly raises his hand to shake it, Gargano looks upon it before seeing Theory being helped out of the ring. Accepting the feedback that they have just faced and thinking back on how much worse things could have been, Gargano shakes Lumis' hand and departs the ring.

The crowd cheer for Lumis, who looks around the ring. Vic Joseph thanks us for tuning in and asks us to join them next week for the penultimate show before End of the Line.
FIN.
