Wakayama sees night five for A Block
Night nine for World Tag League sees the fifth matches for A Block. After tonight, there will only be two matches left for the eight teams in the group, with a struggle to take the top two spots, and to stay off the floor of elimination.

Main event: WTL A Block- Ren Narita & Shota Umino (3-1) vs CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano) (2-2)
It was a successful night for both our main event teams in Nagoya Tuesday with the CHAOS side of Ishii and Yano ending TMDK’s win streak, and Umino and Narita scoring a dramatic victory over Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya in the main event. With a four point spread covering the full group and only three matches left to go, this could make the difference between advancement and defeat for both teams.
7th Match: WTL A Block- United Empire (HENARE & Great-O-Khan) (2-2) vs BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Alex Coughlin & Gabe Kidd) (2-2)
Tag record: 1-0 United Empire
United Empire and BULLET CLUB War Dogs collide in what will be a fascinating matchup on paper. Between his arena wide brawl with Jon Moxley and even using a green mist against HOUSE OF TORTURE, Great-O-Khan seems more than capable of matching Gabe Kidd when it comes to brawling this Friday, while HENARE’s heavyweight strikes should be an intriguing match for Coughlin’s raw power. Which of these four point teams will be first to six?
6th Match: WTL A Block- TMDK (Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls) (3-1) vs Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa (2-2)
A Block head into their fifth night with no team undefeated, and all eight pairings in the hunt thanks to TMDK’s first loss Tuesday in Nagoya. Now sharing the top spot with Umino and Narita, Haste and Nicholls want to get back to the pole position, but to do so they must beat Pro-Wrestling NOAH representatives in a generational clash of past and present green brand teams.
5th Match: Gates of Agony (Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun) (1-3) vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (Yujiro Takahashi & EVIL) (1-3)
Both teams must win
It took a long time top get there, but Gates of Agony are finally on the board, after defeating War Dogs in a wild affair this week. They are far from out of the woods yet though, as they are still in a must win situation against HOUSE OF TORTURE. EVIL and Yujiro takahashi are in that same position, needing to cut any and all corners to stay in the running- so just what was behind Liona and Kaun shaking hands with H.O.T and accepting Tshirts in Shizuoka Wednesday? Have the heavyweight duo transitioned allegiance from AEW’s Mogul Embassy into EVIL’s group?
4th Match: Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI, YOH & Boltin Oleg vs Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji, BUSHI & Zandokan Jr.
Bishamon are still in the hunt to threepeat with the World tag League trophies, but standing in between them and this unprecedented feat next are Yota Tsuji and Zandokan Jr. on Saturday. This preview will also see the interesting sight of Shingo Takagi and Boltin Oleg together- certainly the NEVER Openweight Champion won’t intend to be swung around like a gym weight as Boltin has done with many opponents on this tour.
3rd Match: Master Wato, Minoru Suzuki & Yuji Nagata vs Ryusuke Taguchi, Alex Zayne & Lance Archer
Yuji Nagata and Minoru Suzuki meet one of Suzuki’s former brothers in Suzuki-Gun in the form of Lance Archer with Monstersauce tonight. As much as Suzuki might deep down wish he was teaming with his giant partner from last year’s league rather than appearing on opposite sides, will he and Nagata make things work for themselves in this six man preview?
2nd Match: Just Five Guys (DOUKI, Yuya Uemura & Taichi) vs Tiger Mask, Soberano Jr. & Atlantis Jr.
Before Atlantis Jr. and Soberano Jr. take on Taichi and Yuya Uemura Saturday, Team CMLL and Just Five Guys collide in six man action tonight in Wakayama.
1st match: Guerrillas of Destiny (Jado, Hikuleo & El Phantasmo) vs BULLET CLUB (Taiji Ishimori, Jack Bonza & Bad Luck Fale)
As GoD get ready for the Rogue Army Saturday, an intriguing wrinkle to this six man preview is El Phantasmo reconnecting with Taiji Ishimori. At one time BULLET CLUB’s Cutest tag team, Ishimori stabbed ELP in the back when he was ousted from BULLET CLUB back in April. How will the two interact in our opener tonight?
