80 dollars for a digital game is crazy. I'm a physical media guy. 90 dollars per game is out of my price range. I won't be buying one because the prices for games are too high.
Super Mario Kart 64 cost $59.99 at launch (February 1997). That's $120.21 in 2025 money.

Hell a $69.99 game in April of 2020 is now $87.30 That's more than Mario Kart World is (it's $79.99). So you're getting a deal now.

Let's actually do some math to see how bullshit things have gotten:

In 1996, a studio apartment averaged $697 in rent. A 27-inch TV in 1996 was about $700. Minimum wage was $4.75. The N64 was $199.99.

Today, studio apartment rent is $1,575, a 65" TV is $399.99, a the Switch 2 will be $499.99, aaaaand minimum wage is $7.25.

picked mine up today. I downloaded the Switch 2 version of Fortnite and saw a huge difference. It ran buttery smooth and looked great while the og version could barely load textures.

I downloaded Breath of the Wild and since I have Nintendo Switch Online I get the switch 2 upgrade with that so I booted the game up and saw a decent improvement on the framerate(not as stuttery) but visuals weren't that much better. I found out you have to actually go in and download the upgrade so when I did that HOLY it was night and day difference. the game is buttery smooth now and it looks great.

I was curious if having the better hardware would make old games even without the upgrades play better(it should right?) so i found this video.

Long story short.....yes it does.
