80 dollars for a digital game is crazy. I'm a physical media guy. 90 dollars per game is out of my price range. I won't be buying one because the prices for games are too high.
Super Mario Kart 64 cost $59.99 at launch (February 1997). That's $120.21 in 2025 money.

Hell a $69.99 game in April of 2020 is now $87.30 That's more than Mario Kart World is (it's $79.99). So you're getting a deal now.

Let's actually do some math to see how bullshit things have gotten:

In 1996, a studio apartment averaged $697 in rent. A 27-inch TV in 1996 was about $700. Minimum wage was $4.75. The N64 was $199.99.

Today, studio apartment rent is $1,575, a 65" TV is $399.99, a the Switch 2 will be $499.99, aaaaand minimum wage is $7.25.
