Resisting arrest at 2:30am? What the fuck did he manage to get in trouble for that late at night?

As much money as that is, I'm a little surprised they didn't pay him more. Saints should be so lucky to retain his services considering the piss poor state their franchise is in after all the controversy. Brees's agent could have seriously used that for leverage to swindle at least another 10 mil out of them.

I get what you mean he saved that franchise when it was in such a horrible state. Hadn't done shit in years, Hurricane Katrina of course didn't help and through all that put that team on the map and brought them a super bowl. Guy deserves as much money as he wanted from them and then some for how much he did for them.

Cap space is already going to be an issue for the Saints after the punishment the NFL handed down on them.

Aside from Brees, they are going to have fucking NOBODY in a couple years.

Seems like the deal is front loaded correctly where he gets most of his money this year getting 40 mill and if he for some reason in the final 2 years of the deal he falls off they apparently have an option on him where they can let him go without paying the remaining 39 million. Year 2 and 3 seems pretty cap friendly so they'll actually be fine and it was a smartly constructed deal.

Great signing by the Saints. He has lead about every statistical category you can for the last 6 years. He also has more wins than any other quarterback in the last 3 years.
