KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel has had surgery on his injured throwing hand and coach Todd Haley still hopes that he will be back this season.

Cassel hurt his right hand in Sunday's 17-10 loss to Denver. The former Pro Bowl quarterback had surgery Monday evening to repair what Haley called a "significant" injury.

Haley said Wednesday he doesn't know when Cassel will be able to return. The team has not placed him on injured reserve, which means he could return this season. Haley said much of that will depend on how Cassel recovers this week.

The Chiefs play Monday night at New England, giving backup Tyler Palko a little more time to prepare. Rookie Ricky Stanzi will be the backup

Also, that's good news for my Raiders as the Cheifs are only a game behind them in the divison.

Hold tight Matt, don't risk anything for a quick return. Tis the season to be over. I can see if they were playing great, but they've straight out sucked. It is what it is. As much as I hate to say it the Raiders will win the division.

Same goes for Mike Vick, he's got two broken ribs and realistically nothing to play for. The Eagles season was over a long time ago and going out and playing against a tough Giants D this weekend wouldn't be very smart. They need to start thinking about next season and what changes to make this off season.

One change they seem to need to make is getting a better o-line for starters so Vick won't keep getting killed the way he does.

Yeah and Vick himself is going to have to change his game as he gets older, he can't keep scrambling around in the pocket he's gonna get hit one time and not get back up. I know he's tough and what not but still.

That makes sense I don't see the Jags being able to catch up despite the division blowing and Texans now being in a bad spot at the moment. Pretty sad though this division used to be one of the better looking division's even though the Colts would usually always win it.

Long as I get to keep my Nicki gif with the sig sure lol.
Sure.

HOUSTON -- Suspended Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly has been sentenced to six years in prison for violating the terms of his probation on a drug charge.

Judge Denise Bradley sentenced the player Thursday despite his tearful plea for another chance.

Jolly was charged with possession of a compound containing codeine and tampering with evidence after a traffic stop in October. It was his third drug arrest in three years.

The arrest violated the terms of probation Jolly received in April as part of a deal that wiped out a previous charge and spared him prison time.

Jolly started for the Packers in 2008 and 2009. He was suspended indefinitely by the NFL in July 2010 and did not play for the team last year when it won the Super Bowl.

When I first heard this story I thought, he deserves jail, threw away a career most of us would kill for. But after reading about his plea to the judge, it certainly sounded like he was truly asking for help. Unfortunately, he couldn't figure that out earlier. He deserves to be punished... 6 years seems a bit much considering the scum we see walk the streets everyday. Hope he straightens his life out and become a productive member of society again. Good luck to him.

I will always have my money on the Ravens, Packers (undefeated) or New York Jets. The Ravens have amazing defense but need to run the ball more often, Flacco doesn't have the best arm so it would be smart to hand it to the running back more often than they do. The Jets have become one of my favs over the last couple of years so I wouldn't bet against them, only exception is if they face the Ravens. The Packers are having an amazing season and I hope it continues.

I think the Panthers might have the edge over the Lions...I'm not really that confident in this pick, but I think it's pretty strange that DET is a 7pt favorite coming off the sandusky'ing they just received last week. The panthers should look to attack the lions run D with Cam, Stewart, and Dwill in an attempt to keep the Lions O away from Carolina's Terrible pass D. I think Matt Stafford will continue to struggle as long as Kevin smith and Maurice Morris "handle" the ground game.

Yeah the Ravens def just need to get back to letting Ray Rice carry the load. Should get at least 25-30 touches a game between rushes and catches. Flacco's arm is great it just makes no sense to have him pass 50 times in one game like they have no running game.

I think i read something the other day where even Ray Rice was saying that he needs to carry the ball more for the Ravens to be successful. Which i agree with, he's a beast and can break for big yardage at anytime during a game, if he's given the opportunity.
