New WWE tag team champions were crowned at Sunday night's live event from Oakland, California.

Primo and Epico defeated Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston at the show to win the titles.

Primo and Epico's manager Rosa Mendes tweeted the following after the match:

"Guess who the new tag team Champions are!!??WE ARE!!! WE BEAT AIRBOOM in Oakland!! I will remember this day forever!"
Really don't understand why they would do this on the house show circuit. Would be great if they showed a video of this on RAW and not just explaining it when they come out with the belts.

Come to think of it, didn't the tag belts change hands at a house show before, possibly Mizorrison / The Colons?

They have to show the title changing hands via some type of video on the show.

The only other one I remember is in TNA with Jeffery Jarrett and Rhino.... Or was it Raven?

Christian won the IC title on a house show once.

This sucks that I can't watch Evan Bourne lose his precious tag team title but it's also hilarious on quite a few levels.

Happy for Primo. He got fucked over when his brother Carlito complained and said he wanted to be a singles guy and never got a proper run with the straps. He was a jobber, hardly used, but busted his ass and stuck around. Now he got rewarded and so did Tito who put in time in FCW and wasn't rushed to the main brands. Great for both of them and even Rosa, who got back to her roots of being Roucka in OVW where she was a valet.

I'm also happy for Kofi. Kofi got put in a shit spot because of his partner. Bourne dragged him clean down, and he had to pay the price. Now he gets to be set free, go into the midcard scene, and be his own guy with no one dragging him down.

As for Evan, he fucked up and deserves the demotion. It was a joke that he got to be the only champ to keep a title after a wellness suspensions. Rey, Jeff, Morrison, and so many others had to give up their straps. Humble him and make him start from the bottom.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Miz & Morrison also won the Tag Titles at a house show. They also did that once with the Cruiserweight Title, can't rmember if it was Helms or Chavo that won it.

Anyway, while I don't see why they would do this at a house show rather than on television, escpacially given all the build they've given Primo and Epico. But this title switch is good for everyone involved. Evan and Kofi can get back into singles action, Primo & Epico can get over a little more, and opens the door for a possible Colons/Usos fued.

I was kinda hoping the title change was going to be viewed on air but oh well, I'm actually happy to see these 2 as the new tag team champs. They have schooled Air Boom in al=most every match they've had against them so it is well deserved.

There must be a reason for this title change to occurr at a live event and not on television. Nonetheless, I'm happy to see it happen.

I'm interested to see how Primo & Epico do as Tag Team Champions, but what I'm more interested in is how the WWE will go about splitting up Air Boom. Surely they can't keep them together if Kingston is going to be dragged down with Bourne, it just wouldn't be fair on Kofi. I truly would not mind seeing Kingston turn on Bourne as I feel that if given the chance, Kingston could play a good heel. Some may disagree with that, but you cannot deny that it's about time for a change with him. The only thing that has changed with Kingston since he first debuted is he no longer has an accent. He has been the same for quite some time and this is as better time than anyway to make a change.

Who says Air Boom are splitting up?

Miz & Morrison didn't split up and neither did the Colons when the title changed hands at a House Show a few years ago.

Great move by WWE having Epico & Primo winning the belt, a replay would be shown on RAW tomorrow I'd assume, other than that, start building other teams such as Uso's and Tito/Percy or even a few others. Hopefully, just hopefully the division can revive.

Air Boom splitting up makes the most logical sense... hmmmm so maybe it won't happen. It makes too much sense.

None of those teams had somebody that was in the doghouse when they lost the titles. Both Miz & Morrison and The Colons just had the titles taken off them, where in this case it'd surely be because of Bourne. Obviously.

Very true, anything that logically makes sense tends to not happen. Hopefully this does as it'd be the best move for Kingston's sake.

Not see why everyone is making a deal over it happening at a house show, they have a midcard title change hands every 1-2 years on a house show to keep them important. If a title never changed hands during one they wouldn't mean anything. Hell the WWE title every changed hands at a House Show once (1992), though that will never happen again.

Glad that Primo and Epico are tag team champions but I would have preferred it to happen on Smackdown. Still the title change was needed since Air Boom had been buried after what Bourne did. This frees up Kofi to move towards the mainevent scene on RAW after a big run in the Rumble and Bourne will have to be satisfied with Superstars for the short term. Hopefully Primo and Epico are used weekly on television and give the titles more exposure.
