Meeting - Bushiroad HQ - Tokyo, Japan

Team-wide meeting to confirm stage / entrance / venue layout for North American and South East Asian Events.

Core Principles (Boxing / UFC Inspired)

The Ring is the Star

  • No massive “stage” like WWE.
  • Fighters come from a clean, angled entrance with LED ramp.
  • Camera always prioritizes the ring and audience, not the set.

Authentic Sports Layout

  • Commentators ringside (like boxing commentary tables, UFC Octagon desk).
  • Secondary Announce Table near entrance that includes Analytical Team
  • Medical staff/timekeeper in view → reinforces real fight atmosphere.
  • Security and commission reps visible near barricades.

Production Philosophy

  • Weekly Shows → like a televised fight card (Showtime Boxing, UFC Fight Night).
  • PPVs → like a “Superfight” (Canelo, Fury, UFC numbered events) - WrestleKindom / TheOne
  • Spotlight on the ring, but crowd also visually promoted.

Minimal Distraction

  • LED screens used sparingly (no cartoon graphics).
  • Sponsor rotation & instant replays are the primary use of big screens.
  • Walkouts use light/fog/LED strips, not giant overproduced stages.

Venue Atmosphere

Weekly TV (Battle, Thursday Night Fights, Fighting Spirit, Strong Style Puroesu)

  • Feels like a fight card in a packed arena hall.
  • Darkened arena, spotlight on ring.
  • Clean announcer desk branded with one/two sponsors.
  • Small LED ramp, minimal lights.

PPVs (Wrestle Kingdom, The ONE, GrandSummit, etc.)

  • Big fight-night atmosphere.
  • LED ramp + side columns + hanging LED cube above the ring.
  • Branded barricades (UFC style).
  • Camera cranes + crowd lighting for entrances.

TV Presentation

  • Hard Cam → Usual Boxing/WWE Position (ring + crowd in view).
  • Floor Cams → ringside for action, walkouts.
  • Spidercam/Crane → sweeping arena shots for PPV/TV Main Events.
  • Crowd Shots → fans lit up only for entrances / big moments.

The beauty of this: once the arena template is locked in, we just swap in:

  • Ring ropes/mat (NWA vs IWGP).
  • Sponsors (regional differences).
  • Walkout music/lighting packages.
  • Larger corner entrance for PPV Events - more impressive visuals

That gives total brand unity and keeps the sport-first feel. We hope everyone can agree that this model is the right one for New World Pro-Wrestling.

Diary - 6th August 2025 - 9am (Morning Meeting)

Meeting - Bushiroad HQ - Tokyo, Japan

Day two of Team-wide meeting to confirm Broadcast Team Structure and layout for North American and South East Asian Events.

Broadcast Team Structure

  • Ringside Team (Play-by-Play + Color Commentary)
  • Positioned directly ringside in traditional area opposite entrance walkway.
  • This is the “live fight call” team (like Mauro Ranallo / Jim Lampley style).
  • Focus: action, moves, storytelling in real-time.

Analyst Desk Team (Pre/Post + Between Matches)

  • Located by the entrance ramp, angled so the LED ramp and ring are in the background.
  • Desk branded with headline sponsor (BetMGM, Asahi, Rakuten, etc.).
  • Functions like UFC’s Post-Fight Show desk or boxing’s Showtime/DAZN panels.
  • Focus: pre-match analysis, post-match breakdowns, hype packages.

Arena Layout Integration

  • Ringside Area:
  • Commentary table on one side.
  • Timekeeper + commission/staff on another.
  • Medics/security visible near barricades (adds legitimacy)

Entrance Ramp Side:

  • Desk with 2–3 analysts.
  • Cameras positioned to capture them with the arena as the backdrop.
  • Can double as interview area (fighters who just finished their match can walk straight over).

Broadcast Flow Example

  • Before Show / Between Matches: analyst desk cuts in for breakdowns, graphics, sponsor shoutouts.
  • During Matches: only ringside commentary is active.
  • Post-Match: wrestler can be interviewed at the desk, then cut to hype package for next bout.

Excerpts from Interview with Harold Meji from Tokyo Sports

On How the Transaction for Seaport to buy New Japan took place - The initial calls from Seaport came in late 2023 I believe. They wanted to know if I could assist in any potential negotiations with Bushiroad. I knew pretty quickly after speaking at length with Matthew Manson what the long term plan would be for the organisation and thought it was great ambition. It sounded like they had the capital and vision to do something that was worth me getting involved in.

Were negotiations difficult? - No, not really. The only small challenges were the cultural differences between the US and Japan. I think Seaport knew they wanted someone with the knowledge of not just Japanese business but also New Japan Pro-Wrestling as a whole so it helped them having me on board. I think ultimately, the understanding that the capital and investment that would be coming in from the US was too good to turn down for Bushiroad and also, they were happy with what they had heard from Seaport about the plans for the organisation.

That the Organisation would be treated with care? - Absolutely, I think during the negotiations, I did feel like one of the big things Seaport wanted to make clear was that this would still be a Japanese company, not only in soul and spirit but also that Bushiroad and or other Japanese investment firms would have the opportunity to invest in the company in the long term. A Japanese Soul with US blood.

When is the end of NJPW? - Its not an end of NJPW, like its not an end of Stardom. What it will be is a rebirth for both promotions combined. A new vision starting January 2026. It's important to say that New World Pro-Wrestling will be continue those traditions millions have loved worldwide since 1972.

Will there be G1 and World Tag League in the future? - Yes, absolutely. The iconic cups and tournaments will continue with New World Pro-Wrestling. The IWGP and NWA will have G1 Climax's and World Tag Leagues as well as new ideas that we have in the pipeline. Most importantly we will continue the tradition of strong-style puroesu on the biggest and grandest stages possible.

After WrestleKingdom, will we see the same PPV names as before? - There may be new names for PPV's. Like you say, WrestleKingdom kicks of this new era of Pro-Wrestling on January 3rd 2026. We cant wait for January 2026 to come around and the world sees this new era take place.

IWGP and NWA will be 'Governing Bodies'? - Yes, thats correct. I will manage and be the 'face' so to speak of IWGP events in South East Asia. Shane McMahon will be my cohort with the NWA - we will have two live events each week, both of which will be live on Amazon Prime, this we will be the home for all New World Pro-Wrestling events in Japan and the rest of Asia. We are incredibly excited to show Japanese pro wrestling live on Amazon. The weekly Japanese events will be called 'Fighting Spirit' and 'Strong Style Puroesu'. These events will be live from venues across Japan from January 2026.

What names can you confirm have signed for New World Pro-Wrestling? - Wow, well I can exclusively announce that we have signed some major wrestlers to deals starting in January 2026. What I will say is that we really want to have a strong and respectful relationship with other Japanese promotions. We acknowledge Pro Wrestling NOAH as well as All Japan Pro-Wrestling as two iconic and culturally significant organisations so hope we can create and cement long-term relationships with both. Things are a little big different in North America. Because none of the companies over there have that same style of realistic puroesu, the idea is to keep things 'In House' over there while keeping the traditions of relationships in place over here.

What is the goal and hopes for New World Pro-Wrestling? - From a business point of view, to be in the same financial league table as the WWE and AEW. Both of those companies have turnovers in the hundreds of millions to billions and thats where we want to get to. From a purely puroesu point of view I really want us to put on incredible events each week and fill out arenas putting on the greatest wrestling cards in the world. Thats the goal. We can do it.

Tickets for 'WrestleKingdom' will go on sale Monday, September 1 at 8am JST exclusively at ticket.rakuten.co.jp & livenation.co.jp. Fans interested in exclusive presale opportunities can register for early access at www.nwpw.com/earlyaccess

Diary - Friday 8th August 2025

Las Vegas, NV, USA - New World Pro-Wrestling HQ

Meeting - New World Pro-Wrestling - Finance & Revenue Strategy - North America - January 2026 - Morning

Event Ticket Sales - Projection

1.
Venue Size & Layout

  • If you’re running mid-size arenas (5,000–12,000 seats), you can model after UFC Fight Nights or boxing cards rather than giant WWE stadium shows.
  • Consider 3–4 tiers of pricing for clarity.

2.
Sample Pricing Tiers (U.S. Market)

(based on what AEW/WWE house shows + UFC Fight Nights do)

  • Premium Ringside (Floor 1–3 rows) → $200–$350
  • Lower Bowl (close to the ring) → $100–$175
  • Upper Bowl / Mid-level → $50–$85
  • Entry Level / Nosebleeds → $25–$40

First shows should skew accessible to fill the building and get buzz. Slightly cheaper than WWE/AEW but positioned as serious sport.

3.
Packages

  • VIP Package ($500–$750): floor seat + meet & greet + signed event poster.
  • Family Pack: 4 tickets in upper/mid section with discounted per-ticket rate.
  • Student/Military Discounts: limited but helps build grassroots fanbase.

4.
Philosophy for First U.S. Events

  • Don’t chase “big money” right away → chase sold-out venues and a hot atmosphere.
  • Undercut WWE/AEW slightly but present it with the legitimacy of boxing/UFC.
  • Potentially use dynamic pricing (Ticketmaster style) for PPVs once demand builds.

Diary - Friday 8th August 2025

Las Vegas, NV, USA - New World Pro-Wrestling HQ

Meeting - New World Pro-Wrestling - Finance & Revenue Strategy - North America - January 2026 - Afternoon.

January - US Venue Breakdown - Financial Ticket Sales

1. Walter Pyramid – Long Beach, CA

  • Capacity (wrestling/boxing setup): ~4,500–5,000
  • Market: Southern California, strong wrestling fanbase, crossover with NJPW/AEW fans.
  • Suggested Pricing:
  • Floor/Ringside: $250
  • Lower Bowl: $125
  • Mid Bowl: $75
  • Upper Bowl: $40
  • Entry/Nosebleeds: $25

Push the VIP packages here (SoCal has high spenders).

2. Amarillo Civic Center – Amarillo, TX

  • Capacity: ~5,000 (classic wrestling city, Terry Funk territory).
  • Market: Traditional wrestling crowd, family-oriented.
  • Suggested Pricing:
  • Floor/Ringside: $200
  • Lower Bowl: $100
  • Mid Bowl: $60
  • Upper Bowl: $30
  • Entry Level: $20

Lean into family packs & accessible pricing. History-rich crowd, not super high spenders.

3. Sames Auto Arena – Laredo, TX

  • Capacity: ~8,000–9,000
  • Market: Younger, Hispanic-heavy crowd, strong boxing/MMA market.
  • Suggested Pricing:
  • Floor/Ringside: $225
  • Lower Bowl: $125
  • Mid Bowl: $75
  • Upper Bowl: $35
  • Entry Level: $25

Bundle ticket + merch (Laredo fans love buying shirts/gear).

4. Tingley Coliseum – Albuquerque, NM

  • Capacity: ~11,500 (bigger, but older venue).
  • Market: Combat sports hotbed (UFC/Jackson-Wink MMA hometown).
  • Suggested Pricing:
  • Floor/Ringside: $250
  • Lower Bowl: $150
  • Mid Bowl: $85
  • Upper Bowl: $45
  • Entry Level: $25

Position this as the “biggest event / biggest venue” stop of the first month — push attendance over profit.

Overall Strategy

  • Consistent tier names (Ringside, Lower Bowl, Mid, Upper, Entry) so fans understand pricing across venues.
  • VIP ($500+) only offered in Long Beach & Albuquerque where there’s demand.
  • Family packs in Amarillo & Laredo to make sure local markets sell.

THE ONE PPV: Michelob Ultra Arena – Las Vegas, NV

  • Max capacity (wrestling/UFC-style setup): ~10,000–12,000
  • Market: High-spending, event-driven crowd. Lots of crossover from combat sports, nightlife, tourism.
