A tricky factor here is how his contract is constructed. If he has to fulfill X amount of dates before he can be released WWE can basically keep him on the shelf forever. They held up Rey Mysterio for 2 or so years before finally agreeing to a release.

Fairly certain Neville is back home in Newcastle at this point

If I had to guess...Neville was extremely pissed off at having to put Enzo over...
he drew the line & called them out on their bullshit. They said "Fuck you...we
are pushing Enzo" & sent Neville home...only for Enzo to be released (Thank
God) but because Neville probably told them that Enzo was a fuck up & was
going to fail...they won't bring Neville back because they will have to admit
that he was right all along.

I remember in an interveiw that Neville was freinds with Enzo and had not problem with losing to him. I think it's more about him being stuck in 205 in general.

Wow...well...I would never have picked that.

It would make sense for Neville to be pissed
off for being "stuck" on 205 live.

Andrade "Cien" Almas, Chad Gable,
Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro & Rusev on
the main shows every week.

From what I recall watching 205 Live around that time, they shot a really good angle when Enzo was talking shit for a good 20-25 minutes of the show, he was just talking and talking and you were waiting for someone to punch him, and he got a note from Kurt Angle the day before that "if Neville touches Enzo before the rematch, he forfeits his rematch."

In an absolutely beautifully executed double-turn, while Enzo would not shut the hell up throughout the entire show, Neville eventually came out and totally beat his ass. He threw away his chance at the Cruiserweight title without a care in the world just to shut that little twerp up, and it made for beautiful television.

I left that show wondering a little bit of "Who's getting the next Cruiserweight title shot?", but mostly "What's next for Neville? This angle got him over so well as a babyface he could probably use that as a springboard to the main division, which would really help 205 Live, or he could fight his way back into title contention no problem..."

Then according to reports the next Monday, Neville was supposed to fight Enzo in a rematch for the Cruiserweight title, with Enzo going over...
ANYONE SEE A PROBLEM HERE!?
