Neville got out of his contract somehow.. After negotiations stalled last year, WWE decided to freeze his contract and keep him under contract indefinitely, until he returned to the company or came to terms on a release.

I am assuming they did some kind of agreement financially. Maybe he wrote off certain rights to his name or something.

Didn't WWE already own his name? He was PAC on the indy's.

Anyway, it was reported today he's no longer under contract, don't think there's anymore information right now.

Yeah. The name is a WWE creation. In his pre-WWE career he was indeed PAC. And for a short while Jungle PAC.

Will be interesting to see where he goes

How much do you think a run like this might do for the Indy stars? He made a big name for himself on the Indies, got over big on NXT, didn't do much on the main roster except be amazingly physically talented...

Now if he goes to ICW for example, all the new exposure he got from his WWE run will be brought to them. He'd be the best possible get .

Makes me wonder what the Indy stars and companies will think about the jump to WWE + future situations like this

Neville is one of those guys who could make a killing on the Indy scene.

One of the best wrestlers in the world

I'd say it will differ from talent to talent. WWE recruits a lot of talent, some of them big names, some of them not as big. And for those smaller talents it is a given. They get to make money wrestling full time and even if they get cut their post-WWE status will allow them bigger bookings than they used to get for most of them.

For a bigger name like Neville it is a bit more of a gamble to sign with WWE IMO. Since there is zero guarantee that WWE/Vince will handle you well upon arrival. But he will kill it now that he is set free. Not only does he have the WWE buzz, but he has his existing indy cred to build on as well so he will have more of a "welcome home/back" tour than a smaller talent getting cut.

Right now is one of the best times for talent to look further than WWE to make a full time living in wrestling. ROH is doing well and paying well. Impact is recovering. The Mexican promotions pay okay money and there are so many sizeable indies in the states now that a lot of talents are wrestlers working full time without hustling themselves to death.

I'm rambling but Neville hitting the ground running on the indies will be a big motivator for other talents stuck in a rut and looking elsewhere. Not all of them will work out but a lot of them will.

IMO Neville should look for a Cody style deal with ROH. Get paid well. Have a big home promotion but still able to work other promotions on the side.

In New Japan he would still be a junior which a lot of fans had as a major complain about his main roster run. And Gedo ain't that good at booking juniors.

Hopefully this made sense and isn't a big wall of text.
