Defiant: Good piece as usual. Background work is great. The render flows, and the Japanese symbols are perfectly incorporated. Only thing I could complain about is the white glossy look that you have on most of your banners just doesn't work here. I think it ruins the dirty, gritty feeling of the piece.
Ryan: Still can't really identify a fault on this one. Awesome piece here.

Defiant: It's just your classic. That means it's damn awesome. I like what you did with Tensai, the coloring and such, but the main render is blended too much with the background, if you understand what I mean.

Ryan: Now, everyone who reads the threads in the GFX section knows I'm not a fan of smaller pieces. But this one is really good. I can't really tell you what I like about it, but I know I like it and therefore you get my vote.

Bit of a grungy feel to both pieces here, but like someone said, Defiant's entry is just too glossy and shiny for what he was going for. It ends up looking sanitized, which is the opposite of what you wanted.

Ryan - small, but very accomplished. Nothing really to fault here other than size (but I'm admittedly not an expert.)

Going Ryan here as well. Tough choice though. Sorry Defiant, but you still had an awesome piece.

Another reason why I am a fan of Ryan's is because I'm a massive Halo fan.
