NEED HELP! On fixing usb port plug thing in laptop.

NEED HELP! On fixing usb port plug thing in laptop. on my left side of my 2 ports of my laptop there are not working it not the mouse b/c I change the batties and its still did not work. it works on in my right side but I need that for my usb how do I get this fix. I try unissell it and restarting and it does not work! what do I need to do?​

My USB 2.0 ports don't appear to be working.

If your high-speed USB 2.0 ports don't work, you might not have the correct driver installed for the ports in your computer, or the ports might be defective. If you are using an external USB hub plugged into your computer, this might also be defective or lack the proper drivers. Check Device Manager to see if your USB ports or hubs are working properly.

1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button
   
   , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌
   
   If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. Double-click Universal Serial Bus controllers and check to see if all your USB ports, hubs, and controllers are functioning correctly. Any devices not functioning will have a yellow exclamation mark in front of them.
3. If Device Manager shows any USB ports, hubs, or controllers are not functioning, check for updated drivers. For more information, see Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly.
   
   1. Unplug all USB devices except mouse and keyboard.
   
   
   2. Click on Start orb,
   
   Type Advanced System settings in the search box and Click on View Advanced System Settings to go there.

   The INFCACHE.1 file is used to store information about USB drivers, the information in this file may have become corrupted and may cause windows to load the wrong driver or cause a driver not found message to be generated.
   Deleting this file will force windows to generate a new INFCACHE.1 file.

   and Click on Open Windows Explorer.
   
   
   2. Select Computer in the navigation pane, and search for INFCACHE.1
   
   
   
   
   
   3. Right Click on the file INFCACHE.1 (if you have more instances of Windows installed only do this for INFCACHE.1 C:\Windows\System32\Driver Store)

   6. Delete the INFCACHE.1 file.
   
   
   7. Connect a USB device, but not the one you were having trouble with this will make a new INFCACHE.1
   
   
   8. New Start the PC and try your device again.
   
   
   NOTE... It may, in a few cases be necessary to go through this Tutorial two or even three times to get this to work.

Anything is possible. If that's the case it should still be under the manufacturers warranty. Get them to replace it for you.

it not that easy I got it Toshiba mail from the manufacturers and mail to me. and I need it for collage right now.

If you use that USB a lot it's entirely possible the heat has melted some solder between the motherboard and the port, and when its cooled, its cracked so it doesn't work. If you've dropped the laptop this could have done the same damage.

Odd question but is it on charge? No idea why but my laptop's usb ports get temperamental when the battery is low.
