Week Five Games

This week’s round of NCAA Football Predictions will see the introduction of the Divisional Shields. This format will see the fixtures separated into conference games, but only if both teams play within the same conference. If a predictor manages to get the most listed games in that conference correctly - they will be permitted to use that banner in their signature for the entirety of that week.

The important addition though - is that if ONLY ONE PERSON manages to go 4/4 in a division and no one else matches them, that person will be awarded a ‘Divisional Shield Bonus Point’ that will be added to their overall win column.

[If at any point I have made a mistake placing the wrong team in a conference, please let me know - that game will just take place in the general pool.]

The fifth week of the season and twenty one games would be up for selection and fortunately this week none of the selected games would be called off. It would also prove to be a tricky round of a games for an umber of team with 18th ranked Oklahoma losing to Iowa State, SMU beating 25th ranked Memphis and Tulsa being 11th ranked UCF, which you can imagine really threw a grenade up in the air in relation to effecting people's predictions.

Week Five would also see the introduction of the divisional shields, which as a reminder you are only awarded a Divisional Shield Bonus Point if you make all you selections in that division correct and you are the only one to do so. So before we look at our Week Five overall results in full, let us first reflect on our Divisional Shields.

The ACC was joint placed this week with HoHo, Juice, Chris, Blaze and MyPrerogative all be in joint 1st this week. Contestants are at liberty to celebrate by using this banner this week, although being joint with five other players may not make you the coolest cat on the block.

The Big 12 was a struggle this week for all players involved, but there was just one defined winner. Congratulations to HoHo Kimura for winning the Big 12 Division Shield. You may use this banner this week, if you wish.

The SEC this week sees four joint winners in HoHo, Juice, Chris & MyPrerogative - unlike the ACC Shield however all four selectors went 100% in the SEC so perhaps should all give each other a nod of respect for being flawless in this division.

We only have one person leading the rankings in the AAC this week, although that person didn't go flawless unfortunately. Nonetheless a big congratulations to Shania Twain for claiming the AAC Divisional Shield this week.

The winner of the Conference-USA this week was only one entrant - however, this person also went 100% which means that become the person in this year competition to be awarded a 'Division Shield Bonus Points' (the bonus point will be added to the overall standings - and not affect the outcome of the weekly results). The person who has achieved this feat is none other than HoHo Kimura - well done on this outstanding performance.

Now if you hadn't guessed it already then I should shun you for not paying attention, because this week's winner went 15-6 in the round and had already claim the honours of the Big 12 & Conference USA Divisional Shields. Congratulations to @HoHo Kimura you are this week's winner and become the fourth different person to top the weekly standings.

There was certainly a noticeable shift in the standings this weekend as HoHo Kimura would climb ahead of Shania Twain in the standing, and would find themselves just two wins behind Juice because of the addition of the bonus points.

Technicality: The bonus point will be counted a +1 win, but be tallied within its own section. It will be recognised by added to the percentile column rather than being added to the Win and Losses column.

MyPrerogative remained in the hunt and manage to not fall into double digits behind Christian Cage, who still very much sits on top of the rankings with just one win more than Juice. Blaze however, slipped back down the rankings have the worst round of the six.​

69 games have now been games have been played now, with four different individuals winning the weekly results competition. The question is, who will have the first tumble this season. Week 6 matches will be up, either tonight or tomorrow.

Week Six Games

In Week Five - the predictions in the Atlantic Coast Conference were an incredibly tight affair with five of the six entrants being jointly ranked top with three out of four selections correct. This week however, all scheduled seven games in the Atlantic Coast Conference have been made available with the hopes of creating a bit of separation in the field.
On the same strain of thought the SEC saw four predictors claim a 100% record this week in their predictions and in order to remove a number of hands off the shield, all seven scheduled games will also be available for predictions this week.
.
The AAC has only three games as does the Big 12, so these six games have also been added to the scheduled games this week.
Conference-USA will also see all five of its games being up for selection, as well as UTSA games against BYU which has been designated a non-affiliated game this week along with four other games. This means that this week thirty games will be made available for players.
