Guy misses a whole year and gets max money, after coming off a year where guards shot and rebounded better, what an agent

So you guys think Lin is worth as much money as the Rockets are giving him?

Lakers got Jamsion for bargain money. They will only pay him $860k while the lague pays the other half. Huge discount

So you guys think Lin is worth as much money as the Rockets are giving him?
Think it pays for itself tbh. From a basketball talent standpoint alone, hell no. Factor in business? I'd give it to him.

Guy has several flaws
- he literally can't dribble with his left hand or shoot with it, opposite of Manu and Odom
- half court traps make him turnover prone
- his man d against the drive was lacking

He has some strong points
- he can get to the goal and finish right handed all day
- he can defend pnr well with angles and length

I don't see who the hell he runs pick and roll with on this roster though. That said the deal is still better than the Asik deal. I mean guy gets over 29mil for 2 points, 3 rebounds, and not hitting free throws

I will say Felton can fit better than Lin with Melo and a healthy team if he isn't too fat. He played with Tyson in Charlotte in their playoff run, and he would have been an all star alongside Amare

Don't care about the Knicks in this situation. I'm sure they'll be fine since it's the NBA is all about big markets now.

The fact that you state it's better from a business standpoint and not a talent standpoint... Is that supposed to get what kind of response from me? Oh my god, they may show two or three more Rocket games on ESPN this year? I just want them to improve their team to win, not for exposure.

You asked if he was worth his contract. From a business deal point on yeah as they have had no name without T-Mac and Yao to market their team or draw interest

From a basketball point, how can u ever justify 25 million for 25 games of PT?

I wanted to know if he was worth it basketball wise... Thanks for breaking it down to the point I was already at.

I mean the closest thing I can think of to this deal is Gilbert Arenas but he had a damn good season before Washington paid him out of nowhere. The sample size is so crazy though that it is hard to tell how he will ball when teams are focused in on him

I'll actually say it is for his upside and the fact that the Rockets that it was either him or Tony Douglas and I"m sure any Rocket fan would rather have Lin as their starting PG. If nothing else K-Mart (assuming he don't get dealt) and Lin should be a fun scoring guard combo.

We've had emerging PGs for the last couple years that we don't capitalize on so at least with the contract Lin has we have something that should last.

Shit just got real, Dwight said he would sign an extension if traded to LA over asking to become a free agent at the end of the year

Dwight at LA is fucking lame. Guys taking paycuts and overloading into teams is going to imbalance the NBA and Lakers have already gotten Nash. Starting to get over Dwight he should choose a team and stop being a dickhead.

Dwight wouldnt be getting a paycut. He would get the max with his bird rights, and then Addidas would give him a raise, not a Brooklyn raise, but the second biggest raise he can get. Plus whatever deals he could secure in hollywood.

Its much similar to Melo than Miamis big z3 taking a pay cut (which really wasn't a paycut for anyone but Wade without state taxes in Florida)
