Pistons staged a protest against their coach until he plays Rip :

Tracy McGrady, Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton, Ben Wallace and Chris Wilcox did not show up to Friday morning’s shootaround, in what a team source called a “player protest.”

Their coach's reply after their PR guy tried to cover it up

“We have some things, some excuses, not excuses, but absences because of headache and stuff like that.”

They can't even threaten them with a trade now :

One thing that I've done for myself, I've made sure [I have] a business mind with everything that I do. And it's brought me a long way. So, when I'm finished playing basketball, I think I'll be very successful because I've started to do stuff now so that, when I'm done playing, I'll be ready. I like to act, so I've been doing a lot of work with different actors, voice coaches. I want to do that next. That's what I've been working on besides just playing basketball."

He even said Kobe was in his ear all all star weekend trying to get him to get some LA real estate. If Orlando goes out badly in the playoffs he will be a Laker this summer as they won't want to go through the season like Amare and Melo did on their last two teams. He also said the one player who he wants to play with is Kobe Bryant because he is a good dude and the best there is until someone knocks him off.

Kobe can have 8-10 rings with Dwight next to him erv:

I'm gonna laugh when he goes to a team like Boston or goes to Jersey with Deron. Like I said hope he goes anywhere but L.A since I actually like Dwight. Imo though he should stay in Orlando.

Why stay when they have Gilbert, JJ, and Turk killing their cap? They won't even deal Jameer for legit help. Plus the east will only get tougher while they are stuck with those deals.

He should come out west and join the greatest franchise in NBA history with the greatest lineage of bigs in history (Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq).

If the Nuggets got all of that shit for 'Melo, the Lakers would have to pay out of their ass for Dwight, especially since he's better than 'Melo & outstanding bigs are much harder to come across than scoring SFs.

Why stay when they have Gilbert, JJ, and Turk killing their cap? They won't even deal Jameer for legit help. Plus the east will only get tougher while they are stuck with those deals.

Just because the recent precedent is bailing on the team that made you rich doesn't mean everybody has to/wants to.
